Soledad O’Brien, recently yanked from her morning show “Starting Point” on CNN, plans to continue her focus on racial issues and is charging that whites are afraid of dealing with the nation’s black-white division.

O’Brien, just named a distinguished visiting fellow at Harvard’s Graduate School of Education, told the school’s Institute of Politics that she’s often confronted by whites who want to take issue with her documentaries on race in America.

“People would sometimes, when I give speeches, stand up and say, ‘You know, I think your black America documentaries (are) divisive. I think like, you know, listen, we shouldn’t think of ourselves as African-American. We’re Americans, and everybody should stop separating themselves out,’” she said in a new video from the institute.

She continued: “First of all, it’s only white people who ever said that — ‘if we could just see beyond race. If only people didn’t see race, it would be such a better place, and you are responsible for bringing up these icky race issues, Soledad, you should just let sleeping dogs lie.’”

O’Brien added: “I was like, again, ‘OK, white person, this is a conversation you clearly are uncomfortable with, and I have no problem seeing race, and I think we should talk about race.”

See how this malady messes with the mind’s of its victims? She wants us to be obsessed with skin color, as if skin color defines us. And if you are not as obsessed with skin color as she is? Well, then YOU area  RAAAAACIST! Of course, people like Soledad say we should talk about race, until a Conservative opens their mouth and says race is unimportant. Then they scream RAAAAACIST!

This screed is so bad that Meghan McCain would mock it. Here are some lowlights, as in very dim bulbs

White men have much to discuss about mass shootings

Imagine if African-American men and boys were committing mass shootings month after month, year after year. Articles and interviews would flood the media, and we’d have political debates demanding that African-Americans be “held accountable.”

Have these two ladies ever heard of Chicago? Black men and boys are slaughtering people, mainly other Black men and boys in Chicago. NO, most of the shootings are not “mass shootings” but the death toll is in the “mass” hundreds annually. And, the politicians, which these two nimrods think would be demanding accountability are silent. In fact most of the blame for “gun deaths” because being shot is somehow worse than being strangled or stabbed to death from politicians and the media is on law-abiding gun owners. Good grief, these two numb skulls disprove their entire theory in the first paragraph! No wonder the Washington Post could not wait to run it!

If life were equitable, white male gun-rights advocates would face some serious questions to assess their degree of credibility and objectivity. We would expect them to explain:

What facets of white male culture create so many mass shootings?

So many? Seriously? There very, very few mass shootings in America. Of course the media sensationalizes them, and they are horrific but very rare. Far more common are Americans defending themselves with firearms, sorry I do not know the breakdown along racial lines, skin color is unimportant to me

Why are so many white men and boys producing and entertaining themselves with violent video games and other media?

Why do so many White men play violent video games? Well, because they are fun, certainly more fun than sloshing our way through the incoherent ramblings of the Childress sisters. Of course, to be fair, sawing your own thumbs off is likely more fun than reading what these two write.

Why do white men buy, sell and manufacture guns for profit; attend gun shows; and demonstrate for unrestricted gun access disproportionately more than people of other ethnicities or races?

Because there is a long tradition of gun ownership and self-defense here in America. Of course many women and many minorities also honor these traditions, and many White men oppose them, but the Childress Sisters of the Traveling Stupidity are too obsessed with skin color to note that obvious fact. Just yesterday, at the gun range, I was shooting next to two folks qualifying for the CHL’s. One was a young Black woman. Being a man, and therefore a sexist, just ask any Feminut, I noted that she was quite pretty. Two things stopped me from asking her out. First was that she is likely 15- 2o years younger than me. The second thing was that she is a better shot than me. And at some point I would likely make her angry, so….. I kid of course. I never feel threatened at the range. The young woman was entirely comfortable as well.  Imagine that, a White man A.K.A. The Source of All Evil according to the Childress sisters, flirting with a black woman at a gun range! I am sure the Childress sisters’ heads would explode!

Why are white male congressmen leading the fight against gun control?

Hmmm, Like Ted Cruz? Tim Scott? Marsha Blackburn? You can bet that Allen West would be fighting against this too, as would Mia Love, if they had been elected last November. The glaring fact is that MOST of Congress are White men, and MOST of those  fighting FOR gun control are White men too!

Charlotte and Harriet are identical twins who live near each other in Oregon. They are active in their communities, serving on boards of public and historic parks, schools, and neighborhood and community organizations. They enjoy long walks, camping, commuting by bicycle/walking/bus, organic gardening, cycling, dancing, reading, needlework, backpacking, and cuddling with beloved cats and dogs.

And, as children they fell out of the Stupid Tree, hitting every branch on the way down apparently! These two women are obviously highly educated, yet seem to be completely devoid of any common sense. Their “expertise” seems to be in engineering, math, physics, and chemistry. It certainly is not in the subject they are writing about here. Instead they feel, rather than think their way through what they write in the Post. It is like I say, they are educated beyond their hat size

MSNBC host Chris Matthews and two guests on Wednesday investigated what they identified as strains of homophobia, xenophobia, and racism within the tea party. One of the guests was a filmmaker who is investigating the phenomenon of African-American conservatives who sympathize with the tea party. Matthews was vexed by the existence of black conservatives. He expressed surprise that African-Americans, who were dependent on the federal government for civil rights legislation, would support an ideology that backs state’s rights.

Matthews opened the segment congratulating MSNBC for their efforts at trying to show “the real face of the tea party” which he said was characterized by racial rhetoric and outright racist imagery.

“My study suggests that there is a strain of racism in the tea party,” said University of Washington assistant professor Christopher Parker. “There’s definitely a racist strain, but it goes beyond racism. It goes to homophobia and xenophobia as well, Chris.”

Matthews asked if tea partiers longed for a “dreamy nostalgia” of a time when there were “no gays, where blacks were slaves, where Mexicans were in Mexico.”

Russell Simmons appoints himself spokesperson for every Black American

Ah ye, here we go again, another Liberal Kool Aid drinker who thinks all Black people must think alike! After reading what Simmons has to say ponder these questions. Why do Liberals hate diversity of thought? Why do they get so upset when a member of any minority group thinks for themselves?

Colion Noir, a young African American who is conservative and pro-gun, is the National Rifle Association’s newest spokesman, but apparently this has proven too much for rap and entertainment mogul Russell Simmons.

After seeing the NRA’s intro video of Noir’s upcoming NRA News show, Simmons took to Twitter to tell the gun group, “Dear @NRA, we don’t trust you. Sincerely, Black America.”

So Russell Simmons IS Black America now? He KNOWS what every Black person thinks and feels?

Simmons then wrote a longer attack at Globalgrind.com, saying that “black people ain’t got no time” for the NRA.

Music entrepreneur Simmons criticizes the NRA’s hiring of African American Noir and says it is “deeply troubling” that the NRA is encouraging the black community “to pick up guns again and start poppin’.”

Good Grief here he goes with the tired old Liberal lie that the NRA wants everybody armed and shooting each other. Why don’t you try listening Mr. Simmons, instead of prejudging the NRA?

Simmons went on to say, “With smokescreens and a barrage of bullets, the NRA is intentionally playing into the fears of a very few people. Very, very few.”

Simmons concludes his post saying,

Our community is not interested in a corporate sponsored gun group telling us what to do, when their real mission is to make more money for the corporations that line their dirty pockets with rolls of cash and silver bullets. We’re much smarter than that and certainly can see through their motives. Until they show a real interest in solving the violence problem in our community, they can keep their Yankee hat-wearing spokesman and their African-American “campaigns” for themselves. In the words of another internet star, “ain’t nobody got time for that.”

Ah yes, the new smear of the NRA is that they are not 4,5 million people, but a corporate tool. Here is an exit challenge for Simmons. If violence in “your ” community bothers you, why not ask why there is so much violence there? It certainly is not guns, everyone I knew growing up owned guns, most houses had several guns, yet there was no violent crime, and by no means was my “community” segregated. There were also no gangs, and no tolerance for law-breaking either. And again, that was in Black, and White homes Mr. Simmons. Odd, houses full of guns, and no crime. It is easy, and intellectually lazy to blame guns instead of actually tackling the REAL problem I guess, right Mr. Simmons? But, then again, intellectual laziness is something Liberals do really well. after all, Liberalism is, at its most basic, an ideology of convenience.

The U.S. Postal Service’s decision to eliminate Saturday delivery could disproportionally hurt minority groups, according to Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), the ranking member on the House Oversight Committee.

“You’re talking about just this reduction … from six days to five days will cut anywhere from 25,000 to 30,000 employees. And with regard to Asian, African-Americans, and Hispanics, they comprise about 40 percent of the Postal Service employees,” Cummings told Melissa Harris-Perry on MSNBC Friday night. “So it’s logical to believe if they were to lose that 30,000 jobs, easily 40 percent of them would be African-Americans, Hispanics, and Asian-Americans.”

 

 

Are Obama voters stupid?

Let me put it this way. They KNEW about the high unemployment numbers, especially among minorities, and young voters, yet, they voted for Obama anyway. I would say that is, if not stupid, at least unwise

Obama supporters continue to suffer the most in the latest jobs report. Blacks, Hispanics and young adults suffer the most under this administration.

The national unemployment rate is 7.8% (not counting the millions who dropped out of the market.)

The Herald Online reported:

• The overall unemployment rate for 18-29 year olds for December 2012 is 11.5 percent (NSA).
• The unemployment rate for 18-29 year old African-Americans for December 2012 is22.1 percent (NSA); the unemployment rate for 18-29 year old Hispanics for December 2012 is 12.2 percent (NSA); and the unemployment rate for 18–29 year old women for December 2012 is 10.4 percent (NSA).
• The declining labor force participation rate has created an additional 1.7 million young adults that are not counted as “unemployed” by the U.S. Department of Labor because they are not in the labor force, meaning that those young people have given up looking for work due to the lack of jobs.
• If the labor force participation rate were factored into the 18-29 unemployment calculations, the actual Millennial unemployment rate would rise to 16.3 percent (NSA).

It saddens me that so many people in America are hung up on race. It sickens me that so many fall for the ugly message race pimps like Rev. Joseph Lowery spew for profit. As sad as the comments Lowery makes at the link below are, it is sadder still that he is but one of many who use racist rantings to butter their bread.

All white people are going to hell, longtime African-American civil rights advocate Rev. Joseph Lowery told an audience at a get-out-the-vote event held Oct. 27 in Georgia.

Lowery, who gave the benediction at the January 2009 inauguration of President Barack Obama, told the audience of up to 300 African-Americans “that when he was a young militant, he used to say all white folks were going to hell. Then he mellowed and just said most of them were. Now, he said, he is back to where he was,” according to an Oct. 31 report in the Monroe County Reporter newspaper.

“I don’t know what kind of a n—– wouldn’t vote with a black man running,” Lowery also told the audience in the St. James Baptist Church in Forsyth, Ga., according to the Reporter.

This is a man filled with hate, no different from the morons who still dress up in robes and pointy hats. What is worse is the double standard this country not only accepts, but demands at times. This man, is never ostracized by the media, no, he is instead celebrated somehow. He is excused despite his overtly racist attitude. And again, he is not alone, there are many race pimps spreading these divisive messages. Je$$e Jackson, Al Sharpton, Michael Eric Dyson, Julianne Malveaux, Julian Bond, Kweisi Mfume, Ben Jealous, and many members of the Congressional Black Caucus are but a few who deserve scorn, but receive praise from the Left.

Did NBC Just Air A Racist Commercial?

After Gabby Douglas won the gold and Bob Costas spoke about how amazing this was for the first African-American to win the women’s all-around gymnastics title, NBC aired a commercial of a Monkey doing gymnastics which has caused quite a stir. Racist, or just bad timing? Tons of people on Twitter seemed to think it was more on the racist side.

While NBC will likely be forced to grovel an apology, even a fake “we’re sorry if you were offended” effort, they also have a chance to push back against this if they want, and remind viewers that:

1. Commercials and the main TV programming they sponsor are two separate entities; if you’re seeing a connection between the two, that’s your problem. And:

2. If you’re associating African-Americans with monkeys — or you think that we do — that’s really your problem.

Of course, Toure is not that different from the rest of the hosts at MSNBS, which should change its motto from “Lean Forward” to something like “Be a Victim”. Because that is exactly what they want you to be if you are Black. Yes, voter fraud is a big problem

With moere states requiring people show a proper ID to vote, and more Liberals saying that these laws are racist, and indeed just an effort to suppress the minority vote, I thought it proper to link this piece by John Fund

“Unfortunately, the United States has a long history of voter fraud that has been documented by historians and journalists,” Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens wrote in 2008, upholding a strict Indiana voter-ID law designed to combat fraud. Justice Stevens, who personally encountered voter fraud while serving on various reform commissions in his native Chicago, spoke for a six-member majority. In a decision two years earlier clearing the way for an Arizona ID law, the Court had declared in a unanimous opinion that “confidence in the integrity of our electoral processes is essential to the functioning of our participatory democracy. Voter fraud drives honest citizens out of the democratic process and breeds distrust of our government. Voters who fear their legitimate votes will be outweighed by fraudulent ones will feel disenfranchised.”

Indeed, a brand-new Rasmussen Reports poll finds that 64 percent of Americans believe voter fraud is a serious problem, with whites registering 63 percent agreement and African-Americans 64 percent. A Fox News poll taken last month found that 70 percent of Americans support requiring voters to show “state or federally issued photo identification” to prove their identity and citizenship before casting a ballot. Majorities of all demographic groups agreed on the need for photo ID, including 58 percent of non-white voters, 52 percent of liberals, and 52 percent of Democrats.

These numbers are important. They show that Americans of all races and political beliefs want every vote to be cast in a legitimate fashion. It is, after all a crucial issue. The Left has continued to make the claim that there really is no voter fraud, so, voter ID laws are unneeded. Really? Fund continues

But filmmaker James O’Keefe demonstrated just last month how easy — and almost impossible to detect — voter impersonation can be: A white 22-year-old assistant of O’Keefe’s was offered the Washington, D.C., primary ballot of Attorney General Eric Holder, the most visible opponent of ID laws.

Just this week in Fort Worth, Texas, a Democratic precinct chairwoman was indicted on charges of arranging an illegal vote. Hazel Woodard James has been charged with conspiring with her non-registered son to have him vote in place of his father. The only reason the crime was detected was that the father showed up later in the day to vote at the same precinct. Most fraudsters are smart enough to have their accomplices cast votes in the names of dead people on the voter rolls, who are highly unlikely to appear and complain that someone else voted in their place.

Go read the whole thing. Pass it around. Voter fraud is very real, and you can bet that those screaming that it is not have a very real agenda, to cheat, or at the very least they think that the cheating will help them at the ballot box.

Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-D.C.) on Tuesday will convene a meeting of her Commission on Black Men and Boys in Washington to discuss “Lessons from the Life and Death of Trayvon Martin.”

The commission, which Norton founded several years ago, will hear from four witnesses and attempt to pull together lessons from Martin’s February shooting, which has prompted a wave of criticism that his shooter, George Zimmerman, has yet to be arrested. Authorities in Florida say Zimmerman claimed Martin’s death was an act of self-defense.

“I commend our community for the almost spontaneous rallies for justice for Trayvon Martin,” Holmes Norton said last week. “The national outpouring is clearly having an effect and will continue until an official law enforcement setting allows for justice for Trayvon in accordance with due process under the law for all concerned.

“However, this African-American boy has become both a personal tragedy and a larger than life symbol for the black families that, over the decades and centuries, have lost men and sons without accountability from those responsible,” she added. “Trayvon’s life, and certainly his death, demands not only a careful review of what happened in Sanford, Florida, but also of what we should do tomorrow in America about violence against African-American men and boys.”

OK, let us be frank here, let us be as brutally honest as possible. Over 90% of murders of Blacks are committed by OTHER Blacks. Why in the Hell is the CBC not all over that? Maybe because they cannot win elections by actually helping better the state of Black Americans? There are many legitimate problems facing Black Americans, that high murder rate, an obscene out-of-wedlock birthrate, gangs, crime, and yes, another major problem plaguing the Black “community” is groups like the CBC, the NAACP, and individuals like Je$$e Jack$on, Al Sharpton, Cornell West, Michael Eric Dyson, and Tavis Smiley, among others.

These groups, and individuals I just named are NOT about anything but weighing Black Americans down with anger, bitterness, and of course, an eternal sense of victimhood. Anything for a vote or a donation! Race baiting is a BIG business, built on the souls of Black Americans by Leftist leeches like Eleanor Holmes Norton. Of all the things that would benefit Black Americans, rejecting the divisive rhetoric of the race baiters is near the top if the list.

I hear lots of talk about “empowerment”, and “justice”. If Black Americans truly desire these things, and I know they do, then they should tell the Sharptons, Jacksons, and the rest to pound sand!

And yes, I know I will be accused of “RAAAAACISM” for this post, and I wear that as a badge of honor. Because one of the greatest truths of life is this. When the Left starts calling you names, you know you are right!

The John Derbyshire Derby?

I will admit that I cannot recall if I ever wrote one thing Derbyshire wrote. I likely did, but, that is beside the point. The bottom line is this, he wrote a column that touched on racial lines, and, as a Conservative,that can be extremely dangerous. One of the biggest double standards, maybe the biggest, is what the Left and Right are allowed to say, or write about race. Derbyshire wrote some “controversial things” and now, National Review has booted him,which is their perfect right. My aim in this post is not to condemn The National Review, or Derbyshire.   My aim is to determine if, had Derbyshire written for this blog,would I have canned him for his piece. So,let us review the words that got Derbyshire 86ed.

I will comment as I see a need to

Bob Belvedere has a link to the column. Lets see what it says shall we? Here it is,in its entirity

“Sean O’Reilly was 16 when his mother gave him the talk that most black parents give their teenage sons,” Denisa R. Superville of the Hackensack (NJ) Record tells us. Meanwhile, down in Atlanta: “Her sons were 12 and 8 when Marlyn Tillman realized it was time for her to have the talk,” Gracie Bonds Staples writes in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Leonard Greene talks about the talk in the New York Post. Someone bylined as KJ Dell’Antonia talks about the talk in The New York Times. Darryl Owens talks about the talk in the Orlando Sentinel.

Yes, talk about the talk is all over.

There is a talk that nonblack Americans have with their kids, too. My own kids, now 19 and 16, have had it in bits and pieces as subtopics have arisen. If I were to assemble it into a single talk, it would look something like the following.

* * * * * * * * * * * * *

(1) Among your fellow citizens are forty million who identify as black, and whom I shall refer to as black. The cumbersome (and MLK-noncompliant) term “African-American” seems to be in decline, thank goodness. “Colored” and “Negro” are archaisms. What you must call “the ‘N’ word” is used freely among blacks but is taboo to nonblacks.

“There is a talk that nonblack Americans have with their kids, too.”

(2) American blacks are descended from West African populations, with some white and aboriginal-American admixture. The overall average of non-African admixture is 20-25 percent. The admixture distribution is nonlinear, though: “It seems that around 10 percent of the African American population is more than half European in ancestry.” (Same link.)

(3) Your own ancestry is mixed north-European and northeast-Asian, but blacks will take you to be white.

(4) The default principle in everyday personal encounters is, that as a fellow citizen, with the same rights and obligations as yourself, any individual black is entitled to the same courtesies you would extend to a nonblack citizen. That is basic good manners and good citizenship. In some unusual circumstances, however—e.g., paragraph (10h) below—this default principle should be overridden by considerations of personal safety.

(5) As with any population of such a size, there is great variation among blacks in every human trait (except, obviously, the trait of identifying oneself as black). They come fat, thin, tall, short, dumb, smart, introverted, extroverted, honest, crooked, athletic, sedentary, fastidious, sloppy, amiable, and obnoxious. There are black geniuses and black morons. There are black saints and black psychopaths. In a population of forty million, you will find almost any human type. Only at the far, far extremes of certain traits are there absences. There are, for example, no black Fields Medal winners. While this is civilizationally consequential, it will not likely ever be important to you personally. Most people live and die without ever meeting (or wishing to meet) a Fields Medal winner.

(6) As you go through life, however, you will experience an ever larger number of encounters with black Americans. Assuming your encounters are random—for example, not restricted only to black convicted murderers or to black investment bankers—the Law of Large Numbers will inevitably kick in. You will observe that the means—the averages—of many traits are very different for black and white Americans, as has been confirmed by methodical inquiries in the human sciences.

(7) Of most importance to your personal safety are the very different means for antisocial behavior, which you will see reflected in, for instance, school disciplinary measures, political corruption, and criminal convictions.

(8) These differences are magnified by the hostility many blacks feel toward whites. Thus, while black-on-black behavior is more antisocial in the average than is white-on-white behavior, average black-on-white behavior is a degree more antisocial yet.

(9) A small cohort of blacks—in my experience, around five percent—is ferociously hostile to whites and will go to great lengths to inconvenience or harm us. A much larger cohort of blacks—around half—will go along passively if the five percent take leadership in some event. They will do this out of racial solidarity, the natural willingness of most human beings to be led, and a vague feeling that whites have it coming.

(10) Thus, while always attentive to the particular qualities of individuals, on the many occasions where you have nothing to guide you but knowledge of those mean differences, use statistical common sense:

(10a) Avoid concentrations of blacks not all known to you personally.

(10b) Stay out of heavily black neighborhoods.

This seems pretty racist at first glance, but, trust me most people, note I did not say most White people, but most people, regardless of race would avoid Inner-City neighborhoods. I am not sure what Derbyshire means by “heavily Black neighborhoods. but, I will assume he is referring to the inner city, where crime rates are generally very high.

(10c) If planning a trip to a beach or amusement park at some date, find out whether it is likely to be swamped with blacks on that date (neglect of that one got me the closest I have ever gotten to death by gunshot).

Does this seem racist to me, yes, I must be honest, it does

(10d) Do not attend events likely to draw a lot of blacks.

Again, this sounds racist. Is he advising his kids to avoid rap concerts? That would be pretty good advice, but that, to me anyway, has more to do with the gang/thug element, and there are plenty of non-Blacks that fit that decsription

(10e) If you are at some public event at which the number of blacks suddenly swells, leave as quickly as possible.

Again, I would have to read Derbyshire’s mind to be certain of his meaning, but, I would advise his kids the same way. I managed a restaurant in downtown Dallas for several years. And, once  a year, the Hoop-It-Up event was held around this restaurant. Every year, toward the end of the day, as the games were ending, large groups of kids, almost all Black would descent on the area. The Dallas Police were there, in force, and talking to some of the officers, not all White by the way, I learned that there was reason to be concerned about gang violence.

(10f) Do not settle in a district or municipality run by black politicians.

This one is, to me, just stupid. I might advise his kids not to live in heavily Democratic districts, but that has zip to do with race.

(10g) Before voting for a black politician, scrutinize his/her character much more carefully than you would a white.

Horse shit! Scrutinize EVERY politician, regardless of race. Maybe Derbyshire forgets that there are far more White Liberal politicians than Black Liberal politicians.

(10h) Do not act the Good Samaritan to blacks in apparent distress, e.g., on the highway.

(10i) If accosted by a strange black in the street, smile and say something polite but keep moving.

I would advise this tactic, no matter who was accosting me.

(11) The mean intelligence of blacks is much lower than for whites. The least intelligent ten percent of whites have IQs below 81; forty percent of blacks have IQs that low. Only one black in six is more intelligent than the average white; five whites out of six are more intelligent than the average black. These differences show in every test of general cognitive ability that anyone, of any race or nationality, has yet been able to devise. They are reflected in countless everyday situations. “Life is an IQ test.”

Yes, that is racist, no doubt. Now, I would say that the Left has targeted Blacks, and other minorities for decades. The Left has, to great effect, convinced Blacks that EVERYTHING revolves around their skin color, especially anything negative. The Left has done this to indoctrinate Black Americans. Their desire is to embitter Blacks, and convince them that they are perpetually victimized by racism, and that the only by voting Democrat can they ever move forward.

This indoctrination has, I believe, made Black Americans far too focused on their skin color. In my experience, White people are far less concerned about their pigmentation than are Blacks. I blame decades of Liberal propaganda for that.

(12) There is a magnifying effect here, too, caused by affirmative action. In a pure meritocracy there would be very low proportions of blacks in cognitively demanding jobs. Because of affirmative action, the proportions are higher. In government work, they are very high. Thus, in those encounters with strangers that involve cognitive engagement, ceteris paribus the black stranger will be less intelligent than the white. In such encounters, therefore—for example, at a government office—you will, on average, be dealt with more competently by a white than by a black. If that hostility-based magnifying effect (paragraph 8) is also in play, you will be dealt with more politely, too. “The DMV lady“ is a statistical truth, not a myth.

Once again, give me a break! at this point, I would say that if Derbyshire wrote for me, he would be toast.

(13) In that pool of forty million, there are nonetheless many intelligent and well-socialized blacks. (I’ll use IWSB as an ad hoc abbreviation.) You should consciously seek opportunities to make friends with IWSBs. In addition to the ordinary pleasures of friendship, you will gain an amulet against potentially career-destroying accusations of prejudice.

(14) Be aware, however, that there is an issue of supply and demand here. Demand comes from organizations and businesses keen to display racial propriety by employing IWSBs, especially in positions at the interface with the general public—corporate sales reps, TV news presenters, press officers for government agencies, etc.—with corresponding depletion in less visible positions. There is also strong private demand from middle- and upper-class whites for personal bonds with IWSBs, for reasons given in the previous paragraph and also (next paragraph) as status markers.

(15) Unfortunately the demand is greater than the supply, so IWSBs are something of a luxury good, like antique furniture or corporate jets: boasted of by upper-class whites and wealthy organizations, coveted by the less prosperous. To be an IWSB in present-day US society is a height of felicity rarely before attained by any group of human beings in history. Try to curb your envy: it will be taken as prejudice (see paragraph 13).

You don’t have to follow my version of the talk point for point; but if you are white or Asian and have kids, you owe it to them to give them some version of the talk. It will save them a lot of time and trouble spent figuring things out for themselves. It may save their lives.

As I said, the part about Blacks being “less-intelligent” is something I find offensive, and needless. Although, I will note that if this column had been written by a Black Liberal, and the column had been directed towards Whites, the “outrage” would have been non-existent. As I wrote earlier, the double standard on race in America is absurd. Liberals are ALLOWED to be openly racist, Hell, they are applauded for it many times.

That is my take, here is what others are saying

Stacy McCain notes the narcissism of many on the Left and their exploitation of race.

In a society where traditional institutions of moral authority are decadent or discredited, individuals engage in self-righteous political gestures to demonstrate (to themselves, if to no one else) their own superior virtue. Liberal policies appeal to such impulses, e.g., Dick Durbin: “I may be a corrupt swine, but I drive a hybrid!” or Alec Baldwin: “I may be a vicious bully, but I’m all about a woman’s right to choose!”

Controversies that involve race, even indirectly, have often been hijacked by this sort of liberal crusader mentality, as in the infamousDuke University lacrosse team “rape” scandal, where certainty of the guilt of the accused was a kind of moral litmus test. People who had nothing to do with Duke University, people who had never been within a hundred miles of Raleigh, N.C., nevertheless presumed to know that the lacrosse players were guilty and excoriated anyone who did not join them in denouncing the perpetrators of this alleged atrocity.

What you learn, if you observe this tendency long enough, is that the people who delight in pointing the accusatory finger — racist! sexist! homophobe! — are generally engaged in an exhibition of moral narcissism, trying to fill the “hole in their soul” with self-righteousness by gestures intended to prove their own superior virtue. Not only are theynot racist (or not sexist, etc.), but they are anti-racist (or anti-whatever) and are courageously donning their shining armor and mounting their horses to lead a crusade against the Evil Menace.

Heroism on the cheap, as it were.

Jeff Goldstein notes the racial fear mongering angle and defends Derbyshire as well. He also makes a couple of excellent points about the Left’s oft-spoken desire top have a “dialogue on race”

First, let me say this: Derb’s article is “controversial” in the same way Juan Williams’ noting that he gets a bit frightened on a plane when he sees Arabs in the row in front of him tugging at their vests was controversial. Meaning, it was honest — and as such, it was not sufficiently filtered for a media climate where political correctness still provides the parameters for what is and isn’t acceptable.

Eric Holder famously noted that we’re afraid to talk about race in this country. Derbyshire proved he, at least, isn’t. And his comrades are crawling over themselves to gain distance.

And the reason is, Holder, the left, the “pragmatic” right — they don’t really want to talk about such things. They only want to talk about the need to talk about such things, while simultaneously demonizing any real attempts to do so. An easier way to bank some cheap grace you won’t find in a PC-soaked society.

Some of what Derbyshire said in his article I didn’t agree with; some of what he argued I take no position on, because I’d need to see the evidence cited expanded on a bit and given a more rigorous test; and as a practical rhetorical matter, I think Derbyshire did himself no favors by singling out blacks. But what is indisputable is that the article is set up as a talk he’d have with his kids about race, and the opinions he’s formed — and that he’d pass on to his children — are his, while the reasons he’s developed them he sourced w/ links. That is, he tried (within the constraints of the format) to show his work.

Dan Riehl notes the Left’s misguided attack on Derbyshire

the left is always screaming racism, often even when it hasn’t been proven to exist – as in the recent case of Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman. Even the media falsely screamed it. So, along comes Derbyshire and, I don’t know, confesses it, on his part? And all the left can do is scream, get him! Silence him! He must be fired!! What does that solve? It’s as if the left wants it to appear as though America doesn’t still struggle with racial issues … except when seizing upon an incident, or issue they think they can exploit for political gain. Frankly, they’re even trying to do that here,

Sad that  the Left whines about a need to talk about race, when in fact they only want to have THEIR slanted view heard. As for me, maybe I am just different, but skin color means little to me, of the five closest friends I have had in my adult life one is Korean, one Fillipino, and one is Black. I never saw them as a “color” or an “ethnicity”. I saw them as people, nothing more. I truly believe most of us, of all races are the same way.

On my way home this afternoon I was listening to Sean Hannity. He played some clips from various news organizations, all being critical of the “stand your ground” law. And then he played a clip from some clown from the black panthers. While the first two clips pissed me off, the last one was just over the top idiocy. It seems the black panthers are trying to put together a $1 Millon dollar reward for the capture of Zimmerman. The black panther clown went on to rail against white people and how the white man has it in for black people and on and on about the violence.

Ok, wait a minute. Let’s just think about this for a half a second. In 2005, there were more than 645,000 victims of cross-racial violent crimes between blacks and whites in the U.S. In 90% of those crimes, black offenders attacked white victim.

Did you read that? 93% of murdered Blacks are killed by other Blacks. 93%. For the Black Panthers to claim that there is some kind of war against black men going on in this Country, they may have a point. But it isn’t at the hands of white men, or as in the Martin/Zimmerman case, Hispanic men.

 

Maybe if Jackson and Sharpton and the Black Panthers and Obama and all the race baiting fools in this Country focused their attention and anger on addressing the real problems facing black people instead of the White boogie man, something would get done.

Rep. Emanueal Cleaver — the chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus – told The Daily Caller that African-Americans won’t “march on the White House” over the high unemployment rate in the black community because President Barack Obama is black.

Following his appearance at Republican Rep. Allen West’s Black Conservative Forum, Cleaver elaborated on his past comments about Obama’s image in the African-American community, saying, “The point I was making is that black people hold the president in such high esteem, that they would not dare march on the White House even though unemployment is at 15 percent and higher and if there was a white president we would do that because we’ve had white presidents since George Washington.”

Cleaver continued, “The point was that if we had anybody else in the White House, with this level of unemployment, that you know, you would see a lot more African-Americans, African-American organizations and retro organizations speaking out against it. But because he is revered, you know, he gets I guess the benefit of, you know, understanding that the situation was terrible when he came in. So, we’re not doing that.”

What can I add here? There it is in, pardon the pun, Black and White! The CBC apparently is OK with such unemployment in the Black Community, as long as a Black Liberal is in the White House. The CBC, like the NAACP, and Je$$e Jack$on, and Sharpton, and Cornell West, and Tavis Smiley, and every other race pimp who is constantly throwing down the Race Card gives not one damn about Black Americans! They care only about holding on to their power!

They prefer for Blacks to have higher incarceration rates, higher unemployment, higher out-of-wedlock birthrates, etc Why you ask? Because then, the leeches the CBC, NAACP, etc. can pretend to be fighting for minorities. Blacks that fall for this race hustling,  will stay stuck in victim hood, until, that is, they reject the race hustlers like Cleaver, who are a blight on Black Americans!

Because frankly, there was absolutely nothing wrong with what Santorum said. It is good to seek to help people get jobs, or better jobs, and to get them off government dependence.

The problem is that Santorum looks bad, not for what he said, but for trying to lie about it by denying he said it!

Iowa runner-up Rick Santorum said Thursday that he would be “a much bigger player” than expected in the New Hampshire primary and denied saying that he didn’t want “to make black people’s lives better by giving them somebody else’s money.”

Santorum allegedly made the controversial comments when discussing welfare in an interview Wednesday night with Fox News, but he maintained that people misheard the word “black” when he stumbled on a word.

“I looked at that, and I didn’t say that. If you look at it, what I started to say is a word and then sort of changed and it sort of — blah — came out.  And people said I said ‘black.’ I didn’t,” Santorum said.

 “And I can tell you, I don’t use — I don’t — first off, I don’t use the term ‘black’ very often. I use the term ‘African-American’ more than I use ‘black’ … I think sometimes you want to give someone the benefit of the doubt if it’s a little bit of a blurred word.”

Come on, DEFEND what you said man! Make the ideological points about why you are right instead of whining that you did not say it! In other words act presidential!
