Terrorist Attacks Surged 43% Between 2012 And 2013, Just As Obama Was Declaring Al-Qaeda Decimated

State Department Says Al-Qaeda Terror Attacks Surged 40% Between 2012 And 2013 – Weasel Zippers

Apparently they are not on the “path to defeat,” who knew?

WASHINGTON (AP) – A surge in the number of aggressive al-Qaida affiliates and like-minded groups the Middle East and North Africa poses a serious threat to U.S. interests and allies, the State Department said Wednesday in reporting a more than 40 percent increase in terrorist attacks worldwide between 2012 and 2013.

The department also singled out Iran as a major state sponsor of terrorism that continues to defy demands it prove its atomic ambitions are peaceful even as Washington pursues negotiations with Tehran over its nuclear program.

In its annual global terrorism report, the department said that losses in al-Qaida’s core leadership in Pakistan and Afghanistan “accelerated” the network’s decentralization in 2013. That has resulted in more autonomous and more aggressive affiliates, notably in Yemen, Syria, Iraq, northwest Africa, and Somalia, it said.

“The terrorist threat continued to evolve rapidly in 2013, with an increasing number of groups around the world – including both AQ affiliates and other terrorist organizations – posing a threat to the United States, our allies, and our interests,” according to the strategic assessment of the “Country Reports on Terrorism.”

The report identified a 43 percent increase in the number of terrorist attacks in 2013 from 2012, according to statistics provided by the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism.

FLASHBACK November 1, 2012: Obama Has Touted Al Qaeda’s Demise 32 Times Since Benghazi Attack – CNS

President Barack Obama has described al Qaeda as having been “decimated,” “on the path to defeat” or some other variation at least 32 times since the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, according to White House transcripts.

This comes despite Libyan President Mohamed Yousef El-Magarief, members of Congress, an administration spokesperson, and several press reports suggesting that al Qaeda played a role in the attack.

Recently, on Nov. 1 in Green Bay, Wis., Obama said, “Thanks to sacrifice and service of our brave men and women in uniform, the war in Iraq is over, the war in Afghanistan is winding down, al Qaeda has been decimated, Osama bin Laden is dead.

Fox News reported Monday about an Aug. 15 emergency meeting of personnel at the U.S. Mission in Benghazi over concerns of al Qaeda training camps in the area.

An Aug. 16 cable from Ambassador Chris Stevens, who was killed on Sept. 11, was sent to the Office of the Secretary of State and briefed on the emergency meeting, saying, “on the location of approximately ten Islamist militias and AQ training camps within Benghazi… these groups ran the spectrum from Islamist militias, such as QRF Brigade and Ansar al-Sharia to Takfirist thugs,” Fox News reported the communication as saying.

One day after the Benghazi attack that occurred on the 11th anniversary of 9/11, Obama spoke at a campaign event in Las Vegas on Sept. 12.

“A day after 9/11, we are reminded that a new tower rises above the New York skyline, but al Qaeda is on the path to defeat and bin Laden is dead,” Obama said in Las Vegas.

On Sept. 13 in Golden, Colo., Obama said, “Four years ago, I promised to end the war in Iraq — and we did. I said we’d wind down the war in Afghanistan – and we are. And while a new tower rises above the New York skyline, al Qaeda is on the path to defeat, and Osama bin Laden is dead.” He repeated that line again on Sept. 17 in Cincinnati and again that day in Columbus, Ohio.

The next day at a fundraising event at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York, Obama brought up the first 9/11 and used “decimated,” indicating past tense.

“We’ve got choices about war and peace,” Obama said. “I ended the war in Iraq, as I promised. We are transitioning out of Afghanistan. We have gone after the terrorists who actually attacked us 9/11 and decimated al Qaeda.”

On Sept. 20, speaking at the University of Miami, Obama said, “We’ve decimated al Qaeda’s top leadership in the border regions around Pakistan, but in Yemen, in Libya, in other of these places – increasingly in places like Syria – what you see is these elements that don’t have the same capacity that a bin Laden or core al Qaeda had, but can still cause a lot of damage, and we’ve got to make sure that we remain vigilant and are focused on preventing them from doing us any harm.”

On Sept. 21 in Woodbridge, Va. and Sept. 23 in Milwaukee, Obama again said, “al Qaeda is on the path to defeat.”

Off the campaign trail on Sept. 25, Obama spoke to the United Nations General Assembly and said, “Al Qaeda has been weakened, and Osama bin Laden is no more.”

The next day, campaigning in Bowling Green, Ohio, Obama again said, “al Qaeda is on the path to defeat.” That same day at Kent State University, Obama used the same line. Obama said the same thing on Sept. 27 in Virginia Beach, Va.

On Sept. 28 at the Hilton in Washington, Obama said, “We said that we would go after al Qaeda, and they are on the run and bin Laden is dead.”

Obama went back to saying the terrorist organization was on the “path to defeat” on Sept. 30 in Las Vegas, Oct. 4 in Denver and Oct. 4 at the University of Wisconsin in Madison.

On Oct. 5, Obama again said, “al Qaeda is on the run and Osama bin Laden is no more.”

At a fundraising event Oct. 9 in San Francisco, Obama said, “and today, al Qaeda is on its heels and Osama bin Laden is no more.” He made the same statement on Oct. 11 at the University of Miami and later that day at a campaign event at the J.W. Marriott in Miami.

On Oct. 18 in Manchester, N.H., Obama returned to the “path to defeat” line, which he repeated Oct. 19 in Fairfax, Va.

Obama said Oct. 23 at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Fla., “al Qaeda’s core leadership has been decimated.” He repeated the same line at a campaign event in Delray Beach, Fla. that day.

That day in Dayton, Ohio, Obama said, “That’s why, working with Joe Biden and our national security team, we’ve been able to decimate al Qaeda.”

By Oct. 24, he returned to the dominant “path to defeat” theme, before going back to “decimated” the next day in Cleveland, where the president said, “I said we’d refocus on the terrorists who actually carried out the 9/11 attacks – and al Qaeda is decimated and Osama bin Laden is dead.”

Obama returned to Las Vegas to again say “al Qaeda is on the path to defeat.” He said the same thing Oct. 25 in Richmond, Va., again that day in Tampa and on Oct. 27 in Nashua, N.H.

But officials from the United States and Libya have suggested they believe al Qaeda was involved in the deadly Benghazi attack that killed four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador Stevens.

During a Sept. 16 interview on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” host Bob Schieffer asked Libyan President Mohamed Yousef El-Magarief, “And you believe that this was the work of al Qaeda and you believe that it was led by foreigners. Is that – is that what you are telling us?”

Mohamed Yousef El-Magarief responded, “It was planned – definitely, it was planned by foreigners, by people who – who entered the country a few months ago, and they were planning this criminal act since their – since their arrival.”

Shawn Turner, a spokesman for the director of National Intelligence, said on Sept. 28, “It remains unclear if any group or person exercised overall command and control of the attack, and if extremist group leaders directed their members to participate. However, we do assess that some of those involved were linked to groups affiliated with, or sympathetic to Al Qaeda.”

A Congressional Research Service Report on Oct. 18, said, “Libyan General National Congress President Mohammed Yusuf al Magariaf has linked Al Qaeda to the attacks in interviews and stated his view that the attacks were planned to correspond with September 11 and avenge Al Libi’s death. Al Qaeda’s regional affiliate-Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM)-released a statement praising the September 11, 2012 attack, but did not claim credit for planning or helping to execute it.”

In the Obama administration’s fiscal year 2013 budget proposal, “One program would support the creation of Libyan Special Operations Forces ‘to conduct special operations missions, including counterterrorism operations to fight Al Qaeda and its affiliates,’” the CRS report said. The Obama administration budget was defeated in both the House and Senate earlier this year.

Several members of Congress have cited al Qaeda’s involvement with the attack.

A letter from Rep. Michael Burgess (R-Texas) to President Obama on Sept. 25, said, “Furthermore, last May an al Qaeda affiliated terror cell, the Imprisoned Omar Abdul Rahman Brigades, claimed responsibility for an attack on the International Red Cross office in Benghazi.”

On Oct. 11, House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Peter King (R-N.Y.) wrote a letter to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

“According to public reports, in the hours following the attack, U.S. intelligence agencies monitored communications from jihadists affiliated with Ansar al-Sharia and members of al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), the group’s North African affiliate,” King wrote. “The intercepts reportedly indicated Ansar al Sharia jihadists conspired with AQIM in the attack and acted as subordinates to mid-level AQIM members during the operation.”

House Foreign Relations Committee Chairwoman Ilema Ros-Lehtinen (R- Fla.) wrote an Oct. 15 letter to Clinton.

“Moreover, it remains problematic that the security concerns of diplomats in the field may go unheeded by the State Department. Recent news reports indicate that Ambassador Christopher Stevens had expressed concern about security threats in Benghazi as attacks on Western targets increased and his name along with those of certain Western European ambassadors, appeared on an al Qaeda hit list,” Ros-Lehtinen wrote.

A Sept. 27 Washington Post story headlined, “Attack on U.S. Consulate in Libya determined to be terrorism tied to al Qaeda,” quoted an unnamed U.S. intelligence official saying, “There are people who at least have some association with AQIM,” but added, “It’s not so direct that you would say AQIM as an organization planned and carried this out.”

The camp, which included two houses and a garage, was located in a dense, orchard area. Bomb experts immediately defused the other explosiveecurity forces rushed to the sceneUpon hearing the explosion, Iraqi swec

Security forces rushed to the area after hearing the explosion. They arrested 22, many of them wounded.

Car bombs are the weapon of choice and among the deadliest used by the terror group Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, an al-Qaeda offshoot.

The bomb assembly area was in the village of al-Jalam, a rural farming area outside of Samarra. The nature of the area permitted for easy travel to and from for the militants without being discovered.

Iraqi police verified that the incident was an instructional session which went bad. Of course, that depends upon one’s perspective. Those for whom the explosives were intended would likely have a completely different opinion of the event.

I know I am wrong for thinking this but….

When I read this I have one thought

Via Ynet:

A sharp increase in the number of al-Qaeda linked fighters joining the fight against President Bashar Assad in Syria is threatening to spill over the borders and prompting the Jewish State to re-evaluate its policy of neutrality in the civil war next door, a senior Israeli intelligence official warned on Friday.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because military regulations prevent him from releasing the information, claimed more than 30,000 al-Qaeda linked fighters are active in Syria, a huge increase over previous Western estimates. He did not disclose how Israel reached the figure or specify which groups were included in the count, only defining the fighters as believers in “global jihad,” which he said meant a mix of those linked to al-Qaeda or inspired by the terror network.

And that one thought? If there are 30,000 terrorists in Syria, should we use this chance to drop a few nukes on Syria? World – 30,000 terrorists = a better world. So, am I wrong for having that thought?

If you want the right opinions first………

Read THIS BLOG! Donald Douglas. a blogging legend, in my view, links this piece from IBD

The attempt to rehabilitate Hillary Clinton begins as the New York Times revives the long-ago debunked “video clip” excuse for the well-planned Benghazi massacre while denying documented al-Qaida involvement.

These days it’s all the news that is fit to be made up that graces the pages of the once-proud Gray Lady that has morphed from a self-proclaimed “newspaper of record” to the house organ for the Obama administration.

The latest example is a piece on the Benghazi terrorist attack of Sept. 10, 2010, titled, “A Deadly Mix in Benghazi.” It resembles the infamous White House talking points — on steroids.

Great points, and a very good column you should read, no doubt. But, consider that on this blog, I wrote this yesterday

OH, you mean you did not hear the news? Well actually, they have not fully endorsed her, yet, but that is what this story is all about Absolving Miss What Difference Does it Make. See it WAS all about that video after all.

I also was the first to call this Operation Cover Hillary’s Ass 2016! Of course, someone will go on Fox, or somewhere else and use that, or very similar wording and they will be praised as insightful, a genius, or be described as on the cutting edge. And if I see Karl Rove, with his whiteboard, or Dick Morris saying that on TV, my head will explode. But, we know who said it first, ME! So, really, it should be me on Fox aweing Megyn Kelly, or Andrea Tarantos, Andrea-Tantaros-handcuffswho can restrain me anytime

or maybe Kimberly Guilfoyle. Or maybe, just maybe I would go on MSNBS, and wow Tamron Hall with my political insight, and she would come out of the closet, no not THAT closet, and announce her infatuation with Conservative guys, namely me.

That Daley Gator guy is kinda hot

That Daley Gator guy is kinda hot

Now, will this happen? Of course not! But I can have dreams can’t I?

New York Times endorses Hillary Clinton! UPDATED!

OH, you mean you did not hear the news? Well actually, they have not fully endorsed her, yet, but that is what this story is all about Absolving Miss What Difference Does it Make. See it WAS all about that video after all

Months of investigation by The New York Times, centered on extensive interviews with Libyans in Benghazi who had direct knowledge of the attack there and its context, turned up no evidence that Al Qaeda or other international terrorist groups had any role in the assault. The attack was led, instead, by fighters who had benefited directly from NATO’s extensive air power and logistics support during the uprising against Colonel Qaddafi. And contrary to claims by some members of Congress, it was fueled in large part by anger at an American-made video denigrating Islam.

All the News that is fit to spin. Donald Douglas is also talking about what I am calling Operation Cover Hillary’s Ass 2016!

I read the report. It’s supposed to be so “complicated” you see. It’s impossible for the rubes to understand. But read it for yourself. Pure convenience. A story-line cooked perfectly for a political party on the ropes and about to go down hard. Meanwhile, so much remains unanswered. See the Weekly Standard, for just a start, “Questions They Won’t Answer.”

Political Correctness and our military do not mix

Sometimes you just want to throw our hands up

The night of Sept. 1, 2009, Echo Platoon of Navy SEAL Team 10 headed out into the Fallujah night. Their goal: concluding a five-year search for the al Qaeda killer who had been responsible for the shocking 2004 murders of four American military contractors — one of them an ex-SEAL — whose bodies were then burned, dragged through the streets and hanged from a bridge.

This night the SEALs departed with these words from their commanding officer: “Gents, stay sharp, and expect a firefight.”

In the event, no shots were fired, but the SEALs faced another kind of ambush: a humiliating, baffling, infuriating struggle with the military-justice system that would end with an unsatisfying victory.

Because the man those SEALs captured — Ahmad Hashim Abd Al-Isawi, aka “the Butcher of Fallujah,” a man who lived for mayhem — somehow sustained a bloody lip on the night of his capture.

Go read the rest, it is sickening. How can we expect these men to do the jobs they must do under such inane rules of engagement?

Syrian Rebel Group Being Courted By Obama Regime Conducts Joint Suicide Assault On Hospital With Al-Qaeda

Syrian Rebel Group Being Courted By The Obama Admin Conducts Joint Suicide Assault On Syrian Hospital With Al-Qaeda – Weasel Zippers

And John Kerry had the brilliant idea to reach out to the Islamic Front.

.

.
Via LWJ:

The Islamic Front, a newly formed jihadist group in Syria, launched a joint raid with one of al Qaeda’s branches to take control of a hospital in the contested city of Aleppo. The operation to take the hospital culminated in a suicide assault that was led by two Kurdish bombers.

The joint operation was announced today by the Al Nusrah Front for the People of the Levant, one of two official al Qaeda branches that operate in Syria. The statement was published on jihadist forums and obtained and translated by the SITE Intelligence Group.

The Al Nusrah Front said that it commanded the Islamic Front and the Fajr al Sham Islamic Movement, an independent Salafist group, from what it described as a “joint tactical operations room.”

“The joint tactical operations room of ‘al-Qalb al-Wahid’ (One Heart) – which is militarily led by al-Nusra Front and includes the Islamic Front and the Fajr al-Sham Islamic Movement – launched a blessed operation to end the hopes of the Nusayri army from reaching the al-Kindi hospital and lifting the siege from its soldiers who are trapped in the gate of northern Aleppo, near Aleppo Central Prison …” according to the SITE translation.

The three groups first tried to “storm the building” first on Dec. 4 by detonating a BMP armored personnel vehicle near the building and then sending a team to enter the breach.

Foreign Policy Nightmare Update: Obama Turned Benghazi Into Al Qaeda Terrorist Hub

Obama Turned Benghazi Into Al Qaeda Terrorist Hub – Frontpage

Obama justified his Libyan War to the American people by claiming that people of Benghazi were in danger from Gaddafi. After he succeeded in overthrowing Gaddafi, Benghazi reverted to its radical roots and became a city run by terrorist militias leading to the murder of four Americans.

.

.
And now a fifth American.

That shouldn’t be surprising because Benghazi had become a stop on the Jihadi Express.

Every week, about a dozen Syrians arrive at Benghazi’s airport for what’s described as insurgent training. When they fly out, they’re carrying fake Libyan passports, according to three officials familiar with the comings and goings of foreigners at the airport.

The accounts of the officials, who asked to remain anonymous because of the sensitivity of the topic, are more evidence that this city in Libya has become a regional hub for Islamist extremists seeking to hone their combat skills.

It also raises questions about the role of Libya’s homegrown militia, Ansar al Shariah, in the global jihadi movement. Ansar al Shariah has its roots in the anti-Gadhafi uprising and it’s thought to have participated in the attack last year on U.S. facilities in Benghazi that killed the U.S. ambassador and three other Americans. Any effort to train al Qaida-linked fighters here is unlikely to have gone forward without the backing of Ansar al Shariah, experts in the organization say.

Airport authorities can’t stop them because they themselves fear the repercussions of confronting militants. As one employee explained, pointing to an immigration official: “He is with Ansar al Shariah.”

Libyan Prime Minister Ali Zeidan conceded in a recent interview with The Washington Post that government investigations have turned up Tunisians, Algerians, Sudanese and Nigerians undergoing training in Benghazi.

Clearly Obama’s plan to overthrow Gaddafi and replace him with the fun-loving LIFG and other Muslim Brotherhood militias with historical ties to Al Qaeda was a good decision that is working out really well.

Obama-Backed Syrian “Rebels” Reject Political Leaders, Align With Al Qaeda

US-Backed Syrian Opposition Forces Reject Political Leaders, Align With Al Qaeda – Global Research

On Tuesday, opposition militias aligned with the US-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) joined Al Qaeda-linked forces and criminal groups to issue a statement rejecting the political leadership of the Syrian National Coalition (SNC). They pledged to unite their efforts to topple the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and impose Islamist rule.

.

Their joint statement declared, “All groups formed abroad without having returned to the country do not represent us.”

Speaking of the military forces making up their coalition, they explained, “These forces believe that they are most legitimately represented by those who have lived the same experience and shared in the same sacrifice of their honest sons. Therefore, the National Coalition and its transitional government led by Ahmed Tomeh do not represent it and will not be recognized.”

They called on “all military and civilian forces to unite under a clear Islamic framework based on Sharia, which should be the sole source of legislation.”

Thirteen militias signed the document. The first signatory was the Al Nusra Front, one of the two main Al Qaeda-allied militias in Syria, which Washington has declared a terrorist organization. Several key militias previously loyal to the FSA’s Supreme Military Council also signed, including the Liwa al-Tawhid (Monotheism Brigade), Liwa al-Islam (Islam Brigade), and the Falcons of the Levant (Suqour al-Sham) Brigade.

The militias that signed Tuesday’s declaration are active in much of Syria, but are particularly powerful in northern Syria. Al Qaeda forces have seized control of large areas along Syria’s border with Turkey. NATO and Persian Gulf weapons flow from Turkey to the Islamist opposition in Syria, where Al Qaeda forces have imposed a reign of terror enforced by Islamist death squads, largely financed by looting the population by means of emergency taxes.

Liwa al-Tawhid leader Abdulaziz Salameh read out the statement in a video posted online. A spokesman for the organization told the Wall Street Journalthat the signatories would form a new political command structure and make a series of announcements in coming days.

The Northern Storm Brigade – a group of smugglers and kidnappers based in the northwestern Syrian town of Aazaz, who met with US Senator John McCain during his surprise visit to Syria in May – also endorsed the statement.

The joint statement of Al Qaeda-linked and FSA-linked militias comes amid rising anger within the entire Syrian opposition over the Obama administration’s decision to postpone a direct US war against Assad. SNC leader Ahmad Jarba met yesterday with US Secretary of State John Kerry, pressing for the US to call for regime-change in Syria and launch military action.

A US State Department official said the Syrian opposition politicians “certainly did express disappointment that there hadn’t been a military strike. [They] also wanted a reaffirmation of our stance concerning Bashar al-Assad’s legitimacy or lack thereof, which Secretary Kerry gave them both barrels blazing.”

The alignment of FSA forces with Al Qaeda highlights the criminality and fraudulence of the US proxy war in Syria. The claims of Washington and its allies that in backing the FSA they were backing “moderate” or secular opposition forces against those linked to Al Qaeda were lies. These lies were designed to drag the American people into an unpopular war whose short-term goal was to install a pro-US dictatorship in Syria, with the broader aim of isolating Syria’s main ally in the region, Iran, and preparing for war against it.

The various organizations set up by Washington to front for this policy – coalitions of Syrian Islamist and secular opposition politicians based in Turkey and France, such as the SNC, and loose coalitions of Syrian army deserters such as the central FSA leadership – were empty shells. They had virtually no popular support and no real influence over the far-right Islamist elements the United States and its NATO and Persian Gulf allies have been arming inside Syria.

Such political fictions are being shattered by the Al Qaeda forces’ battlefield reverses and the Obama administration’s hesitation in going to war with Syria. Now that the SNC has failed to arrange for a US military intervention to rescue the opposition forces from defeat, these forces are signaling that they may dump the SNC, split up the FSA, and form an explicit alliance with Al Qaeda.

University of Oklahoma Professor Joshua Landis wrote in his blog Syria Comment that the statement “represents the rebellion of a large part of the ‘mainstream FSA’ against its purported political leadership, and openly aligns these forces with more hard-line Islamist forces.”

The British Independent wrote that the statement could be a “fatal blow” to the Istanbul-based SNC, citing Charles Lister of the defense consultancy IHS Jane’s: “The key Islamist middle-ground players – Liwa al-Tawhid, Liwa al-Islam, and Suqour al-Sham – have finally made clear where their allegiances lie, with huge implications for the moderate opposition.”

Lister added that the declaration “effectively depletes [the FSA’s] armed wing, the Supreme Military Council. It is likely that the moderate Islamist coalition has ceased to exist as a single organizational structure.”

The so-called “moderate” wing is, in fact, an unstable political coalition between various anti-working class forces. They included right-wing, middle-class “democracy” activists and Islamist operatives who aimed to recruit more backward layers of Syria’s Sunni rural population to an imperialist-backed sectarian war against religious minorities such as the Christians and Alawites.

An interview with pro-opposition students in northern Syria, conducted by Italian journalist Gabriele Del Grande for Al Monitor, gives a picture of how the middle class layers in the opposition have reacted to the intensifying war. Del Grande describes those he interviewed as “middle class university students.”

They said: “We used to sing, ‘One, one, one, the Syrian people are one.’ Nowadays, the most popular song goes like this: ‘Alawites, wait for us! We are coming to slaughter you! We will cut your throats.’”

They added: “Well over half of the fighters in the FSA believe they are fighting a war against Alawites, and more generally against the Shiites, as a result of Bashar’s alliances with Iran and Hezbollah. They are simple young men, from the poorer classes. They have no education, and the weapons have gone to their heads. They have become cruel. Killing has become ordinary.”

The Islamist militias in northern Syria are not only fighting the Assad regime, but increasingly fighting among each other for control of the loot seized from the population. Several militias that supported Tuesday’s declaration, including the Northern Storm Brigade, are reportedly fighting another Al Qaeda-linked militia, the Islamic State of Iraq in the Levant (ISIL).

US officials are using this fighting within the opposition to present the Al Qaeda-linked forces they support as moderates who are opposed to far-right Islamism.

A State Department official told Channel News Asia, “Right now there’s a real firefight going up along the border of Turkey and Syria between Al Qaeda extremists and forces loyal to [FSA commander] Selim Idriss… It’s the hardest fighting we’ve ever seen between Selim Idriss’ elements of the Free Syrian Army and the Islamic State of Iraq in the Levant.”

Hundreds More Syrian Rebels Pledge Allegiance To Al-Qaeda

Two Free Syrian Army Rebel Brigades Pledge Allegiance To Al-Qaeda, Join Al Nusra Front And ISIL – Weasel Zippers

Al-Qaeda continues to grow stronger on a daily basis.

.

Via Newsmax:

Hundreds of rebels have pledged allegiance to al-Qaida-affiliated forces in northern and eastern Syria, activists and Islamist sources said on Friday, strengthening the group’s control in the region.

Not only individual fighters, but entire units have joined the small but powerful al-Qaida-linked groups – the Nusra Front and the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) – in recent days, according to the sources inside Syria.

“This is a sign the radical groups are still growing in power. This region could fall to the jihadists,” said an activist in the eastern town of Raqqa, who asked not to be identified. “We may see this become a trend.”

Clashes have been intensifying between Nusra or ISIL and the less effective but more moderate forces that make up the majority of opposition fighters, especially in opposition-held territory along Syria’s northern and eastern borders.

At least two entire rebel brigades are said to have joined the Nusra Front in the opposition-held province of Raqqa, which borders Turkey. One of the groups, the Raqqa Revolutionaries, has about 750 fighters in total, according to a source close to Islamist forces who spoke on condition of anonymity.

Another group, the God’s Victory Brigade, said in a statement on Facebook that all of its leaders and fighters had pledged loyalty to Nusra Front.

“God’s Victory Brigade, which is comprise of 15 battalions, had pledged its allegiance to the Nusra Front, giving complete submission [to it] in times of hardship and of ease,” it said.

A video uploaded by activists from Raqqa on Friday showed a massive convoy of fighters on cars and trucks with artillery and machine guns as they waved black flags. The video’s title said it showed a newly unified force of Nusra fighters and other rebel battalions who had recently pledged loyalty.

Shocking News! White House Chief of Staff outrageously outraged over Ted Cruz remarks

Via Zion’s Trumpet

Via Politico:

White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough says he’s outraged by comments from Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) that members of the U.S. military would be essentially helping Al Qaeda in Syria.

“I am outraged for somebody to suggest that our people would be serving as allies to Al Qaeda,” McDonough said Sunday on ABC’s “This Week.”

“Targeted, consequential, limited attack against Assad forces and Assad capabilities so that he is deterred from carrying out these actions again. Here is what it is not. It is not boots on the ground. It is not an extended air campaign. It is not Iraq, Afghanistan or Libya. This is a very concerned, concentrated, limited effort that we can carry out and that can underscore and secure our interests,” McDonough said.

Cruz said last week that the United States had no national security interest in intervening in the Syrian civil war – where elements of Al Qaeda and other Islamist groups are fighting against Syrian President Bashar Assad.

Wow, Obama keeps finding presidential powers he said presidents did not have

Another Liberal malady on display. Consistent Inconsistentitis

No consistency at all, NONE!

The trouble with striking Syria is this. If we strike Assad, and make no mistake, he is an evil bastard, then we help those seeking his overthrow. Do we really want to help those people, namely Al Qaeda? Do we really want to open the can of worms that this will open up?

Obama Regime Awarding Military Contracts To Al-Qaeda Supporters In Afghanistan

Obama Administration Awards Terrorists With Your Tax Dollars – Downtrend

In a shocking lack of security by the Obama Administration, a watchdog group has uncovered multiple instances of U.S. military contracts being handed out to supporters of the Taliban and al-Qaeda in Afghanistan. Even more shocking is that Administration officials decided not to cancel them because of “due process rights”.

.

Following this report came a letter from John Sopko, the special inspector general for Afghanistan reconstruction, citing 43 cases in which the U.S. Army Suspension and Debarment Office has declined to follow up on. Sopko said, “I am deeply troubled that the U.S. military can pursue, attack, and even kill terrorists and their supporters, but that some in the U.S. Government believe we cannot prevent these same people from receiving a government contract.”

Sopko explained that the Army should follow the rules of common sense in its debarment program. The problem lies in contracts that are divided amongst local contractors. Sopko specifically cited a $32 million dollar program to install barricades, bars and gratings to prevent the placement of roadside bombs, which he has found impossible to confirm the actual number of contracts awarded.

In response to his finding, the Army has stated there isn’t enough evidence to suspend the contracts under federal regulation. It went on to say that, “suspending the contracts at this point would fail to meet due-process requirements and would be deemed arbitrary if challenged in court.”

Summing up his concerns, IG Sopko said “Unless the U.S. Government improves in contract-oversight policies and practices, far too much will be wasted.”

Let’s hope the federal government stops funding our enemies.

Stacy McCain: Was the CIA involved in Morsi’s downfall?

Had not thought about that as of yet. I was actually wondering when Obama will take credit for this, and somehow blame Bush for Morsi ever assuming power in the first place. I mean Johnathan Alter at MSNBS is already ignoring Obama’s support of Morsi, and all the anti-Obama signs in the crowds in Egypt and giving him credit, but look for Obama to start spiking the football soon enough. But, to the CIA and whether or not they played some role. McCain makes the case pretty well

Anyone who knows the Central Intelligence Agency’s history in orchestrating the overthrow of governments must be wondering whether the agency played a role in the collapse of the Morsi regime.

My hunch? Certainly they did, and we should be glad for it. Morsi’s government was a dangerous proto-fascist Islamic thugocracy.

Think about this: President Obama, John Kerry and other top administration officials have spent the past two years watching the “Arab Spring” turn into a bloody and disastrous failure. The Morsi governmentwas unpopular and unstable, and it might have given way to a totalitarian Islamic dictatorship or the kind of chaotic “failed state” anarchy that could turn Egypt into a base for al-Qaeda.

Would that be good for Democrats in the 2014 elections? In 2016?

No, the endless mess in Syria is bad enough, and to have Egypt descend into a nightmare would have been added to Libya in the Republican indictment of Democrat foreign-policy failure.

Sounds quite likely to me

Why is America getting in bed with terrorists?

Reading this post at Wyblog this morning, I literally felt sick. Sick for our troops, sick for America, and sick for our great friend, Israel. In Syria, we have two evils battling each other for control of that nation. No matter who wins, the Syrian people lose. So why are we choosing sides? We know we cannot trust either side after this is over. We know that Syria will remain an enemy of Israel, and us. Yet, Team Obama has our troops training the “rebels” in tactics that they will use against us or Israel, or both someday.

CIA operatives and U.S. special operations troops have been secretly training Syrian rebels with anti-tank and anti-aircraft weapons since late last year, months before President Obama approved plans to begin directly arming them, according to U.S. officials and rebel commanders.

The training has involved fighters from the Free Syrian Army, a loose confederation of rebel groups that the Obama administration has promised to back with expanded military assistance, said a U.S. official, who discussed the effort anonymously because he was not authorized to disclose details.

If this were a case of aiding good people seeking freedom, I would take a different stance, but, as Chris Wysocki explains, the rebels are really terrorists

And here’s where the Real Fun begins, because by “rebels” I mean, of course, al Qaeda. Or rather, al Qaeda’s Syrian branch, known as the al Nusra Front, which is a key player in this so-called “loose configuration of rebel groups.”

Al Qaeda with anti-aircraft weapons, what could go wrong?

And, of course, as it always seems to be with this president, it just gets worse, our troops are going to go help the Muslim Brotherhood suppress “riots” in Egypt

A group of soldiers are preparing for their deployment to Egypt with riot training on post.

They’re planning ahead for violent protests or riots and the possibility of protecting the country’s border with Israel.

Soldiers encountered Molotov cocktails and other dangerous items in the training.

Lt. Matthew Wilkinson says, “Just what I’ve seen over the course of the past week than we were a week ago.”

PFC Perez Alexander says, “We want to be as professional as possible… Know what we’re doing.”

So, we are now going to aid the Islamist regime in Egypt? A regime that hates Israel, and us if you knew the truth. A regime led by the Muslim Brotherhood, a terror supporting group? The line that most frightens me is the one about “protecting the border with Israel”. What does that mean exactly?

Again, we are faced with the same question about team Obama. Are they this inept? Or is this all deliberate? I think I know which way I am leaning.

They wrap up training today before preparing to ship out in the near future.

Obama Funding Rebels Loyal To Al-Qaeda In Syria, Will Allow 9,000 Syrian Refugees To Enter U.S.

Obama Funds Al-Qaeda Syrian Rebels And Imports Syrian Refugees To U.S. – Gateway Pundit

In an article about Obama-backed Syrian jihadists who beheaded a Christian and fed him to the dogs, Pamela Geller stated it best:

“If you need a fail-safe formula for determining who the bad guys are – ask what side is Obama on: [...] Christian Andrei Arbashe, 38, was kidnapped and beheaded by rebel fighters in northern town of Ras Al-Ayn on the Turkish border [...] Syrian rebels beheaded a Christian man and fed his body to dogs, according to a nun who says the West is ignoring atrocities committed by Islamic extremists. She said his headless corpse was found by the side of the road, surrounded by hungry dogs. He had recently married and was soon to be a father.”

Every day presents more proof that Obama is on the side of the Islamic caliphate to rule the world and destroy Western civilizations which includes Israel and America. Obama is the enemy within.

Obama recently announced he will be giving away another $300 million of our taxpayer money to the al-Qaeda Syrian rebels which now brings the total to $815 million. Proof that these rebels pledge loyalty to al-Qaeda presented by USA Today.

“Nowhere in rebel-controlled Syria is there a secular fighting force to speak of” – New York Times, April 28, 2013

Syrian rebels pledge loyalty to al-Qaeda – USA Today, April 11, 2013

Bringing the total to $815 million for the allies of al-Qaeda and proponents of jihad and Sharia. “Obama announces extra $300 million in aid for Syrians, refugees,” by Ian Johnston for NBC News, June 18:

The U.S. is to give more than $300 million in additional “life-saving humanitarian assistance” to Syrians caught up in the country’s civil war, Barack Obama has announced, taking the total amount given since the conflict began to nearly $815 million.

At the G-8 summit in Ireland, President Obama spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss his goals in intervening in the Syrian conflict. Meanwhile polls show the American public does not want to arm Syrian rebels. NBC’s Chuck Todd reports.

And if this wasteful and dangerous use of our taxpayer dollars isn’t infuriating enough, also consider Obama’s plans to import 9,000 of these Al-Qaeda “refugees” into the U.S. What are the odds Obama will give a background check on these Syrians when he refuses to allow the NSA to spy on the mosques.

The Hill reports the following on the Syrian refugees to settle in U.S.

The Department of Homeland Security on Monday issued new regulations that will allow more Syrian refugees to temporarily settle in the United States.

The department estimates that about 9,000 people will be eligible to come to America under the 18-month extension to March 2015 of the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Syrians. Another 2,600 or so Syrians already here will be able to apply to renew their status. The Obama administration first gave TPS designation to Syrian citizens and residents last year, and the status was set to expire on Sept. 30.

Obama Regime To Taliban: Okay, You Can Keep Supporting Al-Qaeda… Now PLEASE Talk To Us

U.S. Drops Demand Taliban Renounce Al-Qaeda To Allow Talks To Progress – London Telegraph

The U.S. will engage in its first formal direct talks with the Taliban on Thursday, according to officials, in a milestone on the road to peace after more than a decade of war.

.

The first meeting will take place in Doha, the Qatari capital, after the Taliban opened their first official overseas office and Washington dropped its long-standing demand that the movement renounce ties with al-Qaeda as a precondition for the talks.

“The U.S. will have its first formal meeting with the Taliban, and indeed first meeting with the Taliban for several years, in a couple of days in Doha,” a senior official with Obama administration said.

Afghan peace negotiators will also travel to Qatar for talks, according to President Hamid Karzai, speaking as Nato officially transferred authority to Afghan national forces on the ground in Afghanistan.

The challenges ahead were underlined however by a suicide attack only a few miles from where Mr Karzai was speaking. The Taliban has repeatedly refused to meet Afghan peace envoys.

After months of behind-the-scenes negotiations however, including some in Norway according to Espen Barth Eide, the country’s foreign minister, the movement has now agreed to open the Doha office to facilitate talks.

“The office is to open dialogue between the Taliban and the world,” Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said, although he made no reference to peace talks or the Afghan government. “The Islamic Emirate Of Afghanistan [the group’s formal name] doesn’t want any threats from Afghanistan soil to other countries, and neither permits anyone to threaten other countries using Afghanistan soil.

“We support a political and peaceful solution that ends Afghanistan’s occupation, and guarantees the Islamic system and nationwide security.”

None of the parties are expecting any imminent breakthrough, but US officials described the opening of negotiations with the Taliban as an “important development” on the road to reconciliation.

They were at pains to be realistic about the road ahead, conceding that levels of trust between parties were “extremely low”.

Officials said the first meeting would simply be an “exchange of agendas” in which both sides laid out what issues they wanted to address. It could be followed by a second meeting in coming weeks.

Recalling the Northern Ireland peace process took years to complete, senior Obama administration officials said the Taliban office was “the first step on what – if it is successful – will be a very long road”, adding that there was “no guarantee that this process will happen quickly, if at all.”

One official significantly added that a requirement for the Taliban to drop relations with al Qaeda – something which had stymied previous attempts at direct talks – was no longer necessary in order for them to progress.

“We’ve long had a demand on the Taliban that they make a statement that distances themselves from the movement from international terrorism, but made clear that we didn’t expect immediately for them to break ties with al Qaeda, because that’s an outcome of the negotiation process,” the official said.

President Barack Obama, speaking at the G8 summit in Northern Ireland, called the opening of the Taliban’s political office an important step toward reconciliation between the group and the Afghan government, although he predicted the road ahead will be long and complicated.

David Cameron, the Prime Minister, gave his backing to the talks.

“We need to match the security response in Afghanistan… with a political process to try to make sure as many people as possible give up violence, give up an armed struggle and join the political process,” he said. “It’s the right thing to do – of course it involves all sorts of difficulties.”

Graeme Smith, of the International Crisis Group, said members of the High Peace Council themselves do not expect much progress.

“The main forces that were killing a lot of insurgents in recent years are leaving,” he said. “The insurgents don’t have a whole load of incentive to negotiate until they find out where the military balance lies after the withdrawal.”

Speaking at a heavily defended army academy just outside Kabul, Mr Karzai told Nato officials that the handover would help cement support for the Afghan security forces.

“From tomorrow, our security and defence forces will now be in the lead,” he said. “From here, all security responsibility and all security leadership will be taken by our brave forces.”

Some 97,000 international troops remain in the country. From now until the end of next year their role will be largely to train and advise local forces.

The transfer of the last 95 districts from Nato to Afghan control include some of the areas still affected by Taliban attacks, including Kandahar – the spiritual home of the movement – and territories that border Pakistan.

Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Nato secretary-general, was in Kabul for the handover. He said the coalition will help militarily if and when needed but will no longer plan, execute or lead operations.

“Ten years ago, there were no Afghan national security forces. Five years ago, Afghan forces were a fraction of what they are today,” he said.

“Now you have 350,000 Afghan troops and police. A formidable force. And time and again, we have seen them dealing quickly and competently with complex attacks. Defeating the enemies of Afghanistan, and defending and protecting the Afghan people.”

Obama Decides To Arm Al Qaeda-Loving “Rebels” In Syria After Concluding Assad Used Chemical Weapons

U.S.: Syria Used Chemical Weapons, Crossing “Red Line” – CBS News

The Obama administration has concluded that Syrian President Bashar Assad’s government used chemical weapons against the rebels seeking to overthrow him and, in a major policy shift, President Obama has decided to supply military support to the rebels, the White House announced Thursday.

.

“The president has made a decision about providing more support to the opposition that will involve providing direct support to the [Supreme Military Council]. That includes military support,” Deputy National Security Adviser for Strategic Communication Ben Rhodes told reporters.

President Obama has repeatedly said that the use of chemical weapons is a “red line” that, if crossed, would be a “game changer” for more U.S. involvement in the Syrian civil war.

“The President has been clear that the use of chemical weapons – or the transfer of chemical weapons to terrorist groups – is a red line for the United States,” said Rhodes in a separate written statement.

“The President has said that the use of chemical weapons would change his calculus, and it has,” he continued.

In terms of further response, Rhodes said, “we will make decisions on our own timeline” and that Congress and the international community would be consulted. Mr. Obama is heading to Northern Ireland Sunday for a meeting of the G8 group of nations; Rhodes indicated the president will consult with leaders of those countries.

“Any future action we take will be consistent with our national interest, and must advance our objectives, which include achieving a negotiated political settlement to establish an authority that can provide basic stability and administer state institutions; protecting the rights of all Syrians; securing unconventional and advanced conventional weapons; and countering terrorist activity,” Rhodes said.

To date, the U.S. policy on Syria has primarily focused on offering the rebels nonlethal assistance and humanitarian aid.

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., who met with the rebels last month and has been a vocal critic of the president’s Syria policy said in a joint statement with Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.: “We appreciate the President’s finding that the Assad regime has used chemical weapons on several occasions. We also agree with the President that this fact must affect U.S. policy toward Syria. The President’s red line has been crossed. U.S. credibility is on the line. Now is not the time to merely take the next incremental step. Now is the time for more decisive actions.”

“A decision to provide lethal assistance, especially ammunition and heavy weapons, to opposition forces in Syria is long overdue, and we hope the President will take this urgently needed step” they added. Former President Bill Clinton this week, at a private event with McCain, also ratcheted up pressure for the White House to increase its support to the rebels.

However, Rhodes would not detail the type of military support the administration intends on providing. He said helping the opposition improve their effectiveness as a fighting force means helping with “nonlethal assistance” such as communications equipment and transportation. “These are things that allow them to cohere as a unit,” he said.

He added, meanwhile, that no decision has been made about enforcing a no-fly zone over Syria. “A no-fly zone… would carry with it open-ended costs for the international community,” Rhodes said. “Furthermore, there’s not even a clear guarantee that it would dramatically improve the situation on the ground.”

Rhodes laid out the intelligence assessment that led to the president’s decision saying the U.S. intelligence community determined “that the Assad regime has used chemical weapons, including the nerve agent sarin, on a small scale against the opposition multiple times in the last year.”

Rhodes added that “the intelligence community estimates that 100 to 150 people have died from detected chemical weapons attacks in Syria to date; however, casualty data is likely incomplete.”

Although that is a small fraction of the more than 90,000 who have died in the civil war, Rhodes said “the use of chemical weapons violates international norms and crosses clear red lines that have existed within the international community for decades.”

“We believe that the Assad regime maintains control of these weapons,” Rhodes continued. “We have no reliable, corroborated reporting to indicate that the opposition in Syria has acquired or used chemical weapons.”

The conflict in Syria has raged on since March 2011 when Assad began cracking down on protesters inspired by the Arab Spring. The war has fallen along ethnic lines, between the Sunni rebels and Assad’s Alawite-dominated regime. Rhodes said today that the use of chemical weapons adds an element of urgency to the situation, as does the influx of foreign pro-Assad fighters from Hezbollah and Iran.

While Mr. Obama has said unequivocally that Assad must go, the administration has said it’s still aiming for his regime to engage with the opposition to reach a political settlement. In the absence of a political settlement, Rhodes said Syria would be left with “for all intents and purposes, a civil war” that Hezbollah and Iran would jump into. Syria’s position in the heart of the Middle East makes the scenario particularly unpredictable.

Rhodes further added that the end of the Assad regime should not have to necessitate the disillusionment in all elements of the state. “There is a future for those in the Assad regime who are willing to accept the end of Bashar Assad’s reign but are willing to work for a better future for Syria,” he said.

Syrian Rebels Pledge Loyalty To Al-Qaeda – USA Today

A Syrian rebel group’s pledge of allegiance to al-Qaeda’s replacement for Osama bin Laden suggests that the terrorist group’s influence is not waning and that it may take a greater role in the Western-backed fight to topple Syrian President Bashar Assad.

The pledge of allegiance by Syrian Jabhat al Nusra Front chief Abou Mohamad al-Joulani to al-Qaeda leader Sheik Ayman al-Zawahri was coupled with an announcement by the al-Qaeda affiliate in Iraq, the Islamic State of Iraq, that it would work with al Nusra as well.

Lebanese Sheik Omar Bakri, a Salafist who says states must be governed by Muslim religious law, says al-Qaeda has assisted al Nusra for some time.

“They provided them early on with technical, military and financial support , especially when it came to setting up networks of foreign jihadis who were brought into Syria,” Bakri says. “There will certainly be greater coordination between the two groups.”

The United States, which supports the overthrow of Assad, designated al Nusra a terrorist entity in December. The Obama administration has said it wants to support only those insurgent groups that are not terrorist organizations.

Al Nusra and groups like it have seen some of the most significant victories against Syrian government forces in the course of the 2-year-old uprising in which Assad’s forces have killed about 80,000 people. Rebels not affiliated with al-Qaeda have pressed Washington for months to send weaponry that will allow them to match the heavy weapons of the Syrian army. They’ve urged the West to mount an air campaign against Assad’s mechanized forces.

President Obama refuses to provide any direct military aid. Foreign radical Islamists streaming into the fight from the Middle East and Europe are making headway with the Syrian population by providing services and gaining ground in battles.

Tamer Mouhieddine, spokesman for the Syrian Free Army, a force made up of Syrian soldiers who have defected, said the recent announcements would not change his group’s attitude toward al Nusra.

“The rebels in Syria have one common enemy – Bashar Assad – and they will collaborate with any faction allowing them to topple his regime,” he said.

He confirmed that al Nusra is generating loyalty in Aleppo, a region battling for months with Assad, by providing financial support as well as setting up charities.

Aaron Zelin at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy in Washington says al Nusra’s ability to provide security and basic needs such as bread and fuel to Syrian civilians, as well as to reopen shops and restart bus services, has won gratitude from people who would not usually adhere to its strict ideology.

Zelin says some Syrian people have criticized al Nusra for banning alcohol, forcing women to wear a full veil and whipping men who are seen with women in public.

“This illustrates the need for American leadership in the Syrian conflict, particularly with regard to helping non-Qaeda-aligned rebels contain the growth of (al Nusra) and similar groups,” he said. “Washington should also try to take advantage of cleavages within the rebellion and civilian population, since al Nusra is outside the mainstream and more concerned with establishing a transnational caliphate than maintaining the Syrian state.”

Groups such as the Islamic Liwaa al Tawhid, which collaborates with al Nusra on military operations, worried that Assad would use the announcement from al Nusra as evidence for his claim that he is fighting terrorists, not Syrian citizens who wish an end to his dictatorship, Mouhieddine said.

“We are willing to fight alongside any faction targeting the Assad regime, as long as it does not have a foreign agenda, which seems now the case” of al Nusra, he said.

Dangerous Times: Benghazi Revealed Collusion With Al Qaida (James Lewis)

Dangerous Times: Benghazi Revealed Collusion With Al Qaida – James Lewis

All scandals have layers of meaning. Watergate was about a second-rate burglary, but more importantly, it was about Richard M. Nixon’s abuse of presidential power.

.

However, much of that message was ruined by the fact that Lyndon B. Johnson abused power as much as Nixon did. Because Nixon is still a convenient whipping boy for the left, we never hear about LBJ’s sins.

Twenty years before Watergate, Nixon was engaged in a brutal battle with the Stalinist left of the 1950s. Watergate “gave the left a sword,” as Nixon famously said. The Washington Post assaulted the Nixon presidency in collusion with Mark Felt (Deep Throat), who hated Nixon for passing him up for FBI director.

Watergate was therefore a major battle in the long war between the radical left and mainstream America.

Like Watergate, Benghazi has several layers. But the most revealing one is the active collusion between this administration and Al Qaida.

Al Qaida is a Saudi-inspired and Saudi-funded terror gang. Almost all of the terrorists on 9/11 were Saudis. Those facts are always covered up, but they are crucial to understanding the Jihad War.

In Benghazi we ran arms from Libya to Al Qaida rebels in Syria. The Saudis are funding that rebellion.

There’s that Saudi link again.

In Egypt we backed the Muslim Brotherhood against Hosni Mubarak, who kept the peace treaty with Israel for 30 years. Thirty years of peace in the Middle East is a huge achievement. The Muslim Brotherhood assassinated Anwar Sadat the peacemaker, one of the rare Arab moderates who saw the light. Today we are in league with those who assassinated Anwar Sadat. For shame.

Today Egypt is starving, and the people hate the new regime.

The Saudis are naturally on the side of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood because they share the Sunni war theology.

So the Saudis have won again, with Obama acting as their American errand boy.

In Libya, we again made common cause with Sunni radicals against Muammar Gadaffi, a real nutcase, but a man who was able to run Libya’s tribal federation for years. Gadaffi had turned over his nuclear program to the George W. Bush Administration. We still betrayed him to support his enemies, and Libya is in a civil war even now.

Again, the Muslim radicals won.

The bottom line is that Obama has consistently supported the most radical Muslim elements in the Middle East.

But we never supported the young people of the democratic Green Revolution against the vicious mullah regime in Iran. When Obama first met Benyamin Netanyahu he acted like an abusive bully.

Obama only bows down to Third World reactionaries.

That is consistent with his extreme leftist ideology. It also fits the worldwide left-Muslim alliance that has made Israel and the U.S. the targets of the most vicious hate campaign since World War II. Check MEMRI.org if you doubt it.

Obama may not be committing technical treason.

But he is a revolutionary, and so are all his friends.

For people like him, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. The war theology of Islam is therefore his friend.

The biggest danger revealed by Benghazi is Obama’s ruthlessly radical policies and actions. He is a trickster. Everything he does aims to undermine the legitimacy of our institutions: DOJ, IRS, FBI, EPA, the Education Department and the rest. As long as Obama is president those agencies cannot be trusted.

Therefore the most dangerous meaning of Benghazi is its betrayal of our fundamental values and allegiances.

By now we should know who Obama really is. It is hard to face, because we want our presidents to represent American values. Obama does not believe in those values.

The most important fact Benghazi revealed is Obama’s collusion with Al Qaida.

That is why it had to be covered up.
