If Obamacare is soooooo great……

25 Apr

….then why are Democrats seeking exemptions for their aides

Republicans and Democrats are meeting right now in discussions to exempt staffers from this horrible law.
The Politico reported:

Congressional leaders in both parties are engaged in high-level, confidential talks about exempting lawmakers and Capitol Hill aides from the insurance exchanges they are mandated to join as part of President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul, sources in both parties said.

The talks — which involve Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), the Obama administration and other top lawmakers — are extraordinarily sensitive, with both sides acutely aware of the potential for political fallout from giving carve-outs from the hugely controversial law to 535 lawmakers and thousands of their aides. Discussions have stretched out for months, sources said.

A source close to the talks says: “Everyone has to hold hands on this and jump, or nothing is going to get done.”

Yet if Capitol Hill leaders move forward with the plan, they risk being dubbed hypocrites by their political rivals and the American public. By removing themselves from a key Obamacare component, lawmakers and aides would be held to a different standard than the people who put them in office.

Any Republican who does not stand against this deserves to be voted OUT of office!

Asking Karl Rove to “fix” the GOP messaging is like asking Michael Moore for diet advice

15 Feb

Attention House GOP members. Karl Rove is not the solution to your problems, Karl Rove IS your problem

BUZZFEED – Republican strategist Karl Rove huddled with a group of House GOP leaders in the office Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy Thursday morning to discuss the party’s messaging efforts, Republicans familiar with the meeting said.

Details of Rove’s presentation to a group of McCarthy’s “whip team” — a subset of the broader conference tasked with educating the rank and file, rounding up votes on key bills and generally enforcing discipline within Republican ranks.

Following the meeting, several lawmakers could be heard instructing staff to setup meetings with Rove.

Rove’s trip to Capitol Hill may not be met with enthusiasm from every Republican. Rep. Steve King, one of the House’s most vocal conservative firebrands, has been eyeing a run to replace Sen. Tom Harkin now that the veteran Iowa Democrat is resigning.

King is in many ways the sort of conservative candidate that makes the party’s establishment nervous about the coming general election, and King told the Iowa Republican earlier this month his is now strongly considering a run — in part as a response to Rove.

“If I would back up in front of Karl Rove’s initiative, that would just empower him, and he would go on state after state, candidate after candidate,” King told the Republican.

Conservatives like Steve King have always made the GOP establishment nervous, Reagan made them nervous, the Tea Party makes them nervous. That is the problem, these weasels are so busy being nervous, they cannot lead, so we keep getting stuck with “safe” candidates that lose, McCain,Romney, that type of candidate. Here is a BIG HINT to the GOP leadership. Stop backing the candidates the Democrats WANT you to run! See the Democrats will signal which candidate they fear by going hard after those candidates in the primaries. The ones they do not fear they will ignore. And the candidate they want us to nominate? They will praise them and talk about what a “good presidential candidate” he or she would make, and how “formidable” they would be. By the way the media does the same thing. I have to point this out since you, Karl Rove, and his stupid white board cannot figure it out!

Tell you what. Fire Karl Rove, he is all about Karl Rove, not the GOP anyway. Call me, I work cheap, Hell I will advise you for free. Why? Because I actually care about Conservatism. Or you can keep getting advice from Rove, and his ilk. Tell me how is that working out for you?

Harry Reid: Who wants a $16 trillion deficit when they can have a $19 Trillion deficit?

9 Nov

Here we go folks.  This did not take long did it? Oh, and if you think a $19 Trillion deficit is the end, then you just don’t know Harry Reid and his cohorts!

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said on Wednesday that if the $16.394 trillion current legal limit on the federal government’s debt must be raised in the next few months by another $2.4 trillion, “We’ll raise it.”

That would set the debt limit at $18.794 trillion.

During a Capitol Hill press conference on Wednesday, CNSNews.com asked: “Senator Reid, the Treasury Department said last week that we will hit the debt ceiling again near the end of the year. Are you prepared—will you support—”

“I think the debt ceiling will come after the first of the year,” Reid said. “But please everyone accept this: They tried it before—they, the Republicans.”

See once you completely ignore fiscal responsibility, the money really starts getting flushed down the toilet!

On Aug. 2, 2011, Congress and President Barack Obama reached a deal to raise the debt ceiling by $2.4 trillion. Now, after only 15 months, almost all of that additional borrowing authority has been exhausted, according to the U.S. Treasury Department.

Good grief! Road kill has more common sense than this bunch!

Fear and Loathing in DC?

Stacy McCain reports on the latest news regarding a certain lying terrorist, and asks the musical question. If threatening Conservative bloggers is wrong, why does the GOP not want to be right

“Where are those spineless Republican bastards in Congress when we need ‘em, huh?” I shouted, trying to explain to a couple of young Beltway professionals the concept behind National Day of Blogger Silence. “They expect us to carry their message and fight their fights, and here we’ve got bloggers getting SWATted and bloggers going to jail and not a single Republican on Capitol Hill has said a f–king word! Not so much as a g–d– two-minute floor speech or a two-sentence press release statement!”

A couple of passersby on the sidewalk glanced over at the patio of the Pennsylvania Street bar where I was, uh, exercising my First Amendment rights — not to say ranting like a madman — earlier this afternoon. Having come to Capitol Hill for a meeting, I’d bumped into these two D.C. professionals who are young friends of mine, though not quite protegés, although one of them was someone whom I once advised to stay away from the Culture 11 debacle. She didn’t listen, and now doesn’t even mention on her LinkedIn profile her involvement in that infamous New Media catastrophe. But I digress . . .

Monday, or yesterday if you prefer, Ali Akbar, was targeted by certain miscreants for daring to talk about those aforementioned miscreants, his mother’s house was photographed, the address was given, and friends of Ali were named as well. Needless to say, Mr. Akbar was none too pleased, declaring this WW3!

Monday afternoon I was off the grid when Ali Akbar called to tell me that “Breitbart Unmasked” had published a photo and the address of his mother’s home in Texas in a viciously mendacious attack on theNational Bloggers Club. While I had no Web access at the time, I was able to send a Tweet from my cell phone, and pardonnez mon français.

Does the phrase “Don’t mess with Texas” ring a bell? Maryland courts have been incredibly lenient with the Kimberlin/Rauhauser axis, but Ali assures me that Texas won’t take too kindly to the purposeful harassment of one of its law-abiding citizens. Ali’s mother has harmed no one, and whoever thought up this sick stunt might find themselves prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law — Texas law. IYKWIMAITYD.

Yes, Texas IS not Maryland, it is different here. This also touches a nerve with me because I live near Dallas, which is near Ft. Worth, which is where Ali’s mom’s house is located. An Ex-Con, who has also done stellar blogging about the Miscreant Intimidation Squad, is NOT AFRAID to post where he lives as he makes clear to the douche nozzles photographing his house. Oddly enough, he lives in Pinellas Park, which is near Tampa, where I was born, and raised, and lived until 1995. In fact, I remember delivering appliances to the apartments where he resides. I guess it is a small world. An Ex-Con also posts these words, which I think sum it up

Point one: The thing to remember is that this is not about me or my family, it is about thuggery and intimidation to silence free speech.

My second point: I am not important in this situation. I stole their thunder so I now am a zero, without value.

Circle the wagons around those that make a difference. I am old and disposable. Ali, Stacy, Liberty Chick, Aaron, Patrick, all of them are young and important players in this effort. Circle the wagons on them.

Contribute to the National Bloggers Club fund started for this purpose. Blog about them, their efforts regarding the publishing of factual information about a public figure. This is where the forward edge of the battlefield exists, not in a backwater in Florida with a broken old man.

Move forward, defeat the foe, those that would silence each and everyone of us. Rally to the commanders listed above and give them your support.

Amen!

Stacy McCain is just misunderstood

6 May

As he tries to explain here

  1. My post Friday afternoon, published 17 hours after HuffPo claimed there was a meeting Thursday on Capitol Hill, was astrenuous denial that any such meeting ever took place; anyone who thought it was something else clearly has reading comprehension problems.
  2. I provided a list of conservative writers — or, as Al Franken called them, “Lying Liars Who Lie” — who obviously can’t be trusted, if they were to claim that any such meeting took place.
  3. I specifically disclaimed having been in attendance at The Meeting That Never Happened, contrary to what any of those Lying Liars Who Lie might (hypothetically) claim.
  4. Why do liberals at HuffPo and BuzzFeed think they can trust Lying Liars Who Lie to tell them the truth about a meeting that (a) was off-the-record, and (b) never actually happened?
See, that clears it up. And by the way Ed and I were still never invited to the secret meeting that everyone knows about that might not have even happened! Gee what is hard to follow about that?

Sandra Fluke is not a slut………………

4 Mar

But she is a damned phony! Who could not see this coming? This is right out of the Democratic playbook. Red Alexandria, new to our blogroll, has the scoop

Nancy Pelosi has lied about Sandra Fluke. Gerry Connolly has lied about Sandra Fluke as well. So has Eleanor Holmes Norton.

Jammie Wearing Fools reports:

I put that in quotes because in the beginning she was described as a Georgetown law student. It was then revealed that prior to attending Georgetown she was an active women’s right advocate. In one of her first interviews she is quoted as talking about how she reviewed Georgetown’s insurance policy prior to committing to attend, and seeing that it didn’t cover contraceptive services, she decided to attend with the express purpose of battling this policy. During this time, she was described as a 23-year-old coed. Magically, at the same time Congress is debating the forced coverage of contraception, she appears and is even brought to Capitol Hill to testify. This morning, in an interview with Matt Lauer on the Today show, it was revealed that she is 30 years old, NOT the 23 that had been reported all along.

In other words, folks, you are being played. She has been an activist all along and the Dems were just waiting for the appropriate time to play her.

Right out of the Democrats playbook. They magically produce this poor girl, so young, so victimized. Silenced by those darned EVIL Republicans. She goes to Congress, tells some stories that may, or may not be true, take my advice and bet on containing high levels of BS, and presto!! The Democrats, create a “victim” a “voice of reason” and the media sucks it up and regurgitates it to the masses. The Republicans look like a bunch of prudes that want women to be sick, and the Democrats look like heroes!

Of course, you need hip-waders to get through all the baloney in the Sandra Fluke “story”, but, how many Americans will believe the story?

Weiner Jumps the Shark: Can’t Say “With Certitude” if Photo is Him | Verum Serum

1 Jun

Yep, pretty clear now that he did it. What a perv John lays out the damning evidence

Michelle notes that Weiner is not shy about making jokes to female reporters abo0ut this

Washington Times reporter Emily Miller was part of a group of journalists who tried to question Weiner on Capitol Hill.

She writes on Twitter:

I asked Anthony Weiner if there are photos of him half-dressed out there. He said “if you’ll forgive me, I was a little stiff yesterday…”

Anthony Weiner made about six penis jokes while talking to reporters, standing outside the House floor. He has NO RESPECT for the office.

He said “is there a Weiner joke that hasn’t been made in this case?” I said to him, “YOU are making them all!” I need a shower.”

Obama to expand drilling in US?

14 May
President Barack Obama Honors Teachers (201001...

Image by nasa hq photo via Flickr

According to this yes, and yes, there is a catch, as you just knew there would be. But first the good, or at least better news

President Barack Obama is looking to bolster U.S. oil drilling, announcing Saturday a preemptive strike against bolder efforts from Capitol Hill as consumer unrest deepens over the price at the pump.

The White House will move forward without congressional action on a set of ideas espoused by Republicans and oil-state Democrats to expand oil and gas drilling in the Gulf of Mexico, Alaska and potentially parts of the Atlantic seaboard.

“[W]e should increase safe and responsible oil production here at home,” Obama said. “Last year, America’s oil production reached its highest level since 2003. But I believe that we should expand oil production in America — even as we increase safety and environmental standards.”

Obama is now looking to give a blanket extension to all oil and gas leases in the Gulf of Mexico due to the disruption caused by last year’s Gulf spill and subsequent administration ban and slow-down of drilling permits. By doing so, Obama is at least touching on an idea advocated by Republicans as part of a three-part offshore drilling package the House approved this month.

OK, that sounds positive enough, depending of course on the details. Now comes the obligatory carrot to the Liberals.

At the same time, Obama is also firing upthe liberal Democratic base by urging Congress to repeal billions of dollars in oil-industry tax incentives and to raise fees against companies that do not act quickly on drilling leases they own.

Back to the drilling for a moment, talk is fine, but let’s see how soon the “Drill Baby drill” talk lasts, and how much actual action on that gets accomplished

The most over the top statement ever?

31 Mar

Simply mind-blowing that anyone could make the following statement, or expect anyone to actually believe such a statement! Via The Daily Caller

As the battle over budget cuts continues on Capitol Hill, the head of one federal agency told lawmakers the budget cuts Republicans are fighting for would result in the deaths of 70,000 children.

During his testimony before the House Appropriations State and Foreign Ops subcommittee, the Administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development, Rajiv Shah said “We estimate, and I believe these are very conservative estimates, that H.R.1 would lead to 70,000 kids dying.”

“Of that 70,000, 30,000 would come from malaria control programs that would have to be scaled back specifically. The other 40,000 is broken out as 24,000 would die because of a lack of support for immunizations and other investments and 16,000 would be because of a lack of skilled attendants at birth,” Shah said.

I think we grasp why this walking brain donor made the statement, he wants to panic Americans, and demonize Republicans, but really is there anyone in America stupid enough to buy this load of steaming dung? OK, there are those who listen to Progressive radio, and watch MSNBS’s line up every night, but anyone else? Good grief this might be the most pathetic statement I have ever heard. Someone call the barrel makers the Democrats have busted through the bottom of theirs.
