Just another reason you could not pay me enough to live in the People’s Republic of Bloombergistan

11 May

AKA New York City. AKA Nanny State USA

They haven’t built a wall yet. You can still get out of New York without having to swim across a river under machine gun fire. What are you waiting for, New Yorkers? If you don’t escape while you can, you will just get ever more of this:

Jack Pawlowski was led out of his Queens home in handcuffs Wednesday, with his stunned wife and three young kids looking on. He said nothing as detectives put him into a squad car.

His crime: He took two of his kids around the corner to Ditmars Park. There he brazenly showed them how to shoot pellets at a tree with a toy gun. This was enough to set concerned citizens on a righteous crusade to see to his punishment.

“I don’t tend to take things lying down, so I went past the parents, and so I walked straight over and I confronted him,” said Leni Calas. “I mean, he’s brandishing a firearm and I don’t care if that firearm is plastic. That’s unacceptable.”

Calas called police, who arrived after Pawlowski left. She also called City Councilman Peter Vallone Jr. (D-22nd) and posted [a photo of Pawlowski] on her “queensmamas” website.

That led to a tip that led investigators straight to Pawlowski’s door.

Doubleplus good, Comrade Calas! Big Brother should double her chocolate ration. As for Pawlowski, he will be made an example of.

“This is really a way to educate people,” Vallone said. “You cannot run around with a realistic looking gun. It’s against the law, and you could get arrested and actually go to jail.” …

[Pawlowski] remained in custody Wednesday evening, on charges of reckless endangerment, endangering the welfare of a minor, resisting arrest, and possession of an illegal BB gun.

And the idiot that got her panties in a wad over a father playing with his kids? Just wait until she does something The State deems unfit, and a “concerned citizen” Brownshirt turns her in, then she will understand how dangerous allowing the State such power really is.

Once again Democrats sticking their nose in where it does not belong

Via WaPo:

A D.C. Council member is preparing to introduce a resolution calling on the Washington Redskins to change its name, perhaps to the Washington Redtails.

Council member David Grosso, an independent elected last year, said he plans to pursue his non-binding resolution because the current name is “a derogatory, racist name.”

“It’s been a long time that we’ve had this name associated with Washington, and I think its time we take a stand and change it,” Grosso said.

Grosso is circulating his resolution to other council members to try to get co-sponsors. So far, he said, council members Muriel Bowser (D-Ward 4) and Kenyan McDuffie (D-Ward 5) have agreed to sign on to it.

Just think how much better we would all be if busy body legislators kept their focus on important mattes rather than trying to dictate every move we make.

More Bandemonium from Bloomberg

The little wannabe dictator is at it again

Salt, soda, cigarettes, firearms, trans fats, baby formula — next up for suppression by the parody of a totalitarian tyrant who passes for Mayor of NYC: Styrofoam.

Bloomberg plans to use part of his Thursday State of the City address to push for a ban on Styrofoam food packaging. …

“One product that is virtually impossible to recycle and never bio-degrades is Styrofoam … something that we know is environmentally destructive and that may be hazardous to our health, that is costing taxpayers money and that we can easily do without, and is something that should go the way of lead paint,” Bloomberg will say, according to excerpts of the speech obtained by The Associated Press.

He said his administration would work with the City Council to ban Styrofoam food packaging from stores and restaurants.

H’T to Moonbattery, where Dave Blunt adds this

Coming next: a ban on plastic. Or maybe the transistor. Or radial tires. Or the color orange. Who knows?

New Yorkers will now pay more for takeout food that doesn’t stay warm so that Bloomberg can congratulate himself on making their world a little less free. The rest of the country will have to deal with supplying products to its largest city in the face of bizarre restrictions that pile up by the day.

People like Bloomberg are dangerous, Their fanaticism increases with whatever power they are allowed to gain. Pray this ass hat never gets elected to anything after his stint in NYC is over.

City Councilman Freaks Out Shows His Ass Over Veteran Packing Heat With Concealed Carry Permit

24 Jan

Via Donald Douglas This shows clearly that some people do not belong in a y position of authority

Candy ass, he should keep walking if he does not believe in the right of self-defense. And let me, and Michelle Malkin remind you all how much the Left hates your guns, and YES, they are definitely looking to confiscate your guns

Boy, Bob Belvedere is going to get called a Homophobe for this post!

11 Jul

Bob Belvedere is not happy about the duds, and I mean DUDS, Team USA Olympic athletes are going to be sporting next month in London.  I must say, these clothes look ridiculous, in fact these get ups are even more wimpy, and yes, Bob, Gay, than those sweater vests Santorum wore during the campaign. The fact is Bob, who I never knew was  fashionista is right in his critique. I mean  look at these awful clothes.

From the New York Post, David Li and Andy Soltis reporting, we learn [tip of the fedora to the Drudge Report]:

Our Olympic heroes will be headed off to London this month — looking as if they’re decked out for a Hamptons lawn party.

Ralph Lauren yesterday unveiled the preppy parade uniforms that Team USA members will wear at the July 27 opening ceremony, stirring an uproar over pricey duds fit for a regatta.

The outfits include blue blazers, cream-colored trousers, white skirts — and berets.

“2012 US Olympic team is wearing berets. Really? America?” tweeted John Lee Rudnicki, a Los Angeles entertainment lawyer. “How many people in the US have you ever seen wear a beret? Five?”

“What the France?” tweeted Greg “Hollea” Rachal, a political activist and former Jacksonville, Fla., City Council candidate.

The company said the outfits embody “the spirit of American athleticism and sportsmanship.”

They embody the spirit of an America gone gay.

Yep, that last line is going to buy Belvedere some grief. I would have used the term douchetastic myself, but, Bob is his own guy.

But, I am not sure that many Gay people would dress like this! I mean these poor people look as if they are rejects from An Old Navy TV spot.

More race baiting elections!

Another detestable tactic by Leftists intent on destroying America

In a move that some are saying could provide illegal immigrants with a disproportionate amount of representation in Yakima, Washington, immigrant rights activists are suing the city in an attempt to re-jigger the city’s current voting procedures.

Quietly last week, immigration lawyer Tim Schoenrock filed a law suit against Yakima on behalf of his client, former Democratic Party chairman, Tony Sandoval. The suit alleges that the city has been violating Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act (which prohibits any voting procedure that results in a discriminatory outcome), by allowing for an at-large City Council voting system that they believe discriminates against the Latino population – which votes at a lower rate than their white counterparts.

“The white population votes at a larger percentage than Latinos thereby over ruling every time the Latino group disagrees with the white vote,” explained Schoenrock.

With Latinos comprising 40 percent of the population, the hope is to have more Latino representation on the City Council, a problem critics say would not be an issue if Latinos actually ran for office more often.

To solve the perceived problem, Sandoval and Schoenrock want to see the city divided into seven equal districts, so that citizens will only be able to elect one council representative per district. This likely would be uncontroversial were there not an effort to ensure that illegals are counted in the districting process
