Finally decided on my new gun

7 Mar

I have been looking for a new gun specifically designed for concealed carry, something small, but powerful. After looking at several local shops, and several Academy Sports, I narrowed my choices and last Friday, I went to the Academy in Arlington, and bought my newest gun. Yes, Liberals I own four handguns, two shotguns, and some rifles, you Liberals would call that an “arsenal”. Anyway, the gun I opted for is this. The Taurus Millenium Pro 140 .40 S&W Polymer Pistol in stainless steel.

140SSP

It has a 10-shot magazine, the gun comes with two, two safeties, including a locking mechanism that disables the gun entirely, and a loaded chamber indicator. Being a .4o caliber it has sufficient power, and weighs only 18.7 ounces with a 3.25 ” barrel. I am taking it to the range over the next few days so I will get back to y’all on how it does

If you live in Virginia Beach, and want some pizza

19 Feb

You should go to this pizza shop

All Around Pizza and Deli in Virginia Beach, VA, is offering a 15% discount to customers who carry a gun in with them or show a concealed carry handgun permit.

The discount began last week, and Jay Laze, the store’s owner, says 80% of his customers have been visibly packing heat ever since.

And the weapons they carry in aren’t limited to handguns. Customers have carried in Ruger Mini-14 rifles and at least one AK-47.

Moreover, mothers, coming in to eat with their children, are doing so with pistols on their hip

Boy, I bet David Frum would soil himself if he found out

Texas legislator pushes gun safety classes………..

15 Feb

Liberals will freak over this of course, but I think it is a helluva idea!

State Representative James White hopes a new bill he’s proposed will help more high school students across the state handle guns properly.

It would give schools the choice to offer a class, taught by a certified concealed handgun license instructor or peace officer, on how safely to use guns like pistols, revolvers and shotguns.

Gabriel Rivera, a Douglas MacArthur High School student, believes the classes could stop tragedies like the one at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

“It’s not who can use it, bad or good. It’s who can use it properly,” said Rivera.  “It think it’s a good way for people to be safe with weapons and guns in general.”

But should guns be in the hands of students, some of whom are barely even teenagers? Peggy Weyel says yes. She runs a hunter education program for children as young as nine.

“I’ve hunted with several of the grandchildren of the people who have been on leases with. And those kiddos are some of the safest hunters I’ve ever seen,” states Weyel.

Like I said, Libs will flip out over this. I can hear them now bemoaning the thought of  a teenager handling  a gun. Funny, Libs want high school kids to handle, and have condoms, they want them to be educated about sex, and safe sex. But they do not want them handling guns or learning gun safety? Maybe if we promise to put condoms on the guns, then Libs will approve? No problem!

Texas college students could be allowed to carry on campus soon

12 Feb

Via Doug Giles

Students with concealed handgun licenses could soon carry guns on Texas college campuses.

More than a dozen state senators have signed on to Senate Bill 182, also known as the  “Campus Personal Protection Act.”

The bill’s primary author, Senator Brian Birdwell, said the bill is about preserving the 2nd Amendment.

Of course, Liberals will howl over this, and I know they will predict Wild West shootouts, and blood in the halls of academia, and so on. Of course they said similar things when Texas passed our concealed carry law in 1996, and they said the same in Florida when my native state passed that CC bill in 1987. And, to date, those Wild West shootouts have still not happened. I hope Governor Perry gets the chance to sign this into law.

City Councilman Freaks Out Shows His Ass Over Veteran Packing Heat With Concealed Carry Permit

Via Donald Douglas This shows clearly that some people do not belong in a y position of authority

Candy ass, he should keep walking if he does not believe in the right of self-defense. And let me, and Michelle Malkin remind you all how much the Left hates your guns, and YES, they are definitely looking to confiscate your guns

Oh no! Ed Schultz stricken with Truth Deficit Disorder!

English: Ed Schultz

The Sad Face of TDD!

Another day, another Leftist ass hat contracts one of the many Liberal Maladies I have diagnosed mover the years. The ass hat, in this case, is Ed Schultz, the malady? Truth Deficit Disorder or TDD!

Via Newsbusters:

The hits keep coming from libtalker Ed Schultz, who’s kicking off the new year on a roll.

First week into 2013, Schultz insisted that Bill Clinton was never tried in the Senate after he was impeached by the House. Schultz followed with the laughable claim that gun laws in Chicago, a city with some of the nation’s toughest restrictions on firearms, “don’t even exist.

Schultz is tripling down on his ignorance, making an egregiously false claim on his radio show yesterday while talking about whether schools should allow teachers to arm themselves (h/t for embedded audio clip, Brian Maloney at mrctv.org) –

“Would it be a deterrent if, you know, say perpetrators know that there’s guns in the schools? How do we know they wouldn’t view that as a challenge? I mean, we got a goofy world out there. I’m just not convinced that packing a small firearm is the best defense or certainly not the best defense. You know, you want to make the best defense? Make the school a damn fortress. I mean, you could do that, I mean but, is that reasonable? Is that the right thing to do? Is it necessary? And so I’m just, is it nec-, haven’t we had enough school shootings where this is necessary? We’ve never had a civilian stop a shooting.”

Never? Really Ed? REALLY?? Well, folks, this has to be TDD. Poor Ed, you gotta feel for the blathering buffoon. He wants so badly for his numerous falsehoods to be true that he has developed an inability to grasp what everyone else sees, that he is, in fact, a lying bag of baboon dung! Mark Hemingway has some facts that lay waste to Ed’s delusional rantings

In response to last week’s massacre in Connecticut, Mother Jones has put together a “study” on mass shootings that makes a pretty bold claim:

In the wake of the slaughters this summer at a Colorado movie theater and a Sikh temple in Wisconsin, we set out to track mass shootings in the United States over the last 30 years. We identified and analyzed 62 of them, and one striking pattern in the data is this: In not a single case was the killing stopped by a civilian using a gun.

There are a couple of major problems here with arguing that armed civilians don’t stop mass shootings. One is that when armed civilians are present, they often stop mass shootings before they can become mass shootings. One of the criteria Mother Jones used to define mass shootings is that “the shooter took the lives of at least four people.” So then, consider the following:

– Mayan Palace Theater, San Antonio, Texas, this week: Jesus Manuel Garcia shoots at a movie theater, a police car and bystanders from the nearby China Garden restaurant; as he enters the movie theater, guns blazing, an armed off-duty cop shoots Garcia four times, stopping the attack. Total dead: Zero.
– Winnemucca, Nev., 2008: Ernesto Villagomez opens fire in a crowded restaurant; concealed carry permit-holder shoots him dead. Total dead: Two. (I’m excluding the shooters’ deaths in these examples.)

– Appalachian School of Law, 2002: Crazed immigrant shoots the dean and a professor, then begins shooting students; as he goes for more ammunition, two armed students point their guns at him, allowing a third to tackle him. Total dead: Three.

– Santee, Calif., 2001: Student begins shooting his classmates — as well as the “trained campus supervisor”; an off-duty cop who happened to be bringing his daughter to school that day points his gun at the shooter, holding him until more police arrive. Total dead: Two.

– Pearl High School, Mississippi, 1997: After shooting several people at his high school, student heads for the junior high school; assistant principal Joel Myrick retrieves a .45 pistol from his car and points it at the gunman’s head, ending the murder spree. Total dead: Two.

– Edinboro, Pa., 1998: A student shoots up a junior high school dance being held at a restaurant; restaurant owner pulls out his shotgun and stops the gunman. Total dead: One.

These are just a few examples of mass shootings being prevented. I’m sure there are many more that meet this criteria. But, as you can see, in every incident, the would-be shooters were stopped short of killing four people because an armed civilian—or in some cases, an off duty cop—was present.

Newsbusters (link above) also points out that the Oregon mall shooting was stopped, likely in great part by an armed civilian

Back on Dec. 11, a gunman shot two people to death at a mall in Clackamas, Ore., then took his own life when he saw a 22-year-old patron with a concealed carry permit draw his weapon.

“He was working his own gun,” Nick Meli told KGW Channel 8, describing how he positioned himself behind a pillar when he heard gunfire. “He kept pulling the charging handle and hitting the side.”

The Channel 8 report continues –

The break in gunfire allowed Meli to pull out his own gun, but he never took his eyes off the shooter.

“As I was going down to pull, I saw someone in the back of the Charlotte move, and I knew if I fired and missed, I could hit them,” he said.

Meli took cover inside a nearby store. He never pulled the trigger. He stands by that decision.

“I’m not beating myself up ’cause I didn’t shoot him,” said Meli. “I know after he saw me, I think the last shot he fired was the one he used on himself.”

See how TDD can ravage people ability to be honest? Please help stamp out TDD in our times. You can help by exposing Liberal lies, and yes, by reading this blog. PLEASE do not let THIS happen to you!

What we would be hearing about school shootings if we had President Perry

19 Dec

We would not be hearing empty rhetoric about meaningful action. We would instead have a president with a grasp of reality

a president that might actually understand that security in our schools is the best answer, not more useless gun control laws

At a Tea Party event Monday, former Republican presidential candidate and Texas Governor Rick Perry became the highest-profile Republican politician to support arming teachers and administrators.

Perry argued that anyone with a concealed handgun license should be able to take guns on public property in Texas, including schools, and he urged legislators “to look at ways to improve safety at schools.”

“In the state of Texas, with our concealed handgun license, if you have been duly backgrounded and trained and you are a concealed-handgun-license-carrying individual, you should be able to carry your handgun anywhere in this state.” Teachers should have “access to weapons in their school,” Gov. Perry said, provided they have the proper training and license, and it should be left up to local school districts to determine their own policies in allowing firearms on their campuses. He later added that property owners had the right to prohibit guns on their own private property. Some school districts across Texas already allow school personnel to carry guns; when Perry referred to the one school district that allows teachers and administrators to carry weapons, he was interrupted by loud applause from the crowd.

Perry warned citizens of rash decisions from the federal government.“One of the things that I hope we don’t see from our federal government is this knee-jerk reaction from Washington, D.C., when there is an event that occurs, that they come in and they think they know the answer.”

In every one of the recent school shootings, the killer has stopped when? When he decide enough was enough? When a Liberal sang him a song of peace? No, when he was confronted with armed resistance! In Pearl Mississippi, that resistance came in the form of an assistant principal who ran to his car to retrieve his gun. The fact the Left is not willing to grasp is that sometimes evil is visited upon us, and we must fight back. Passing more laws that the next killer will ignore will do nothing.

So, let me understand this. We need to take guns away from heroes to make us safer?

16 Dec

The Delusional Left refuses to live in the real world. They are screaming to ban handguns, assault weapons because a 20-year-old psycho, who cannot legally have handguns murdered his mother, stole her guns, and slaughtered 20 children? The Left wants more gun control even though Connecticut has very strict gun laws already. Laws that did nothing to stop the killer. Killers like this walk through laws and go on killing sprees, largely because the left has defined schools as “gun free zones” as if a sign will stop a mass murderer. But, who are they seeking to disarm here?

In last week’s mall shooting in Oregon, the mall was also super safe because it is a gun free zone by the way, a hero with a concealed carry permit helped stop the shooter and saved lives. Why would the Left wish to disarm him?

The shooting last week at the mall in Clackamas, Oregon has been overshadowed by the tragedy that unfolded Friday morning at an elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut. In Oregon two innocent human beings lost their lives, but perhaps the carnage would have been worse if not for Nick Meli, who has a concealed carry permit and was in the mall when the gunman opened fire. Meli pulled his weapon, but did not shoot the gunman because there were bystanders who could have been injured. The gunman saw Meli, an armed citizen, and rather than shoot more innocents he pointed his weapon at himself.

“He was working on his rifle,” said Meli.  ”He kept pulling the charging handle and hitting the side.”

“I’m not beating myself up cause I didn’t shoot him,” said Meli.  “I know after he saw me, I think the last shot he fired was the one he used on himself.”

Tens of thousands of Americans use guns every year to defend themselves, the lowest estimate shows that 274 Americans per day act heroically BECAUSE they are armed, but the Left wishes to disarm them? Of course, the Left insists that this is the only way, and the Left are the geniuses behind gun free zones, right? Certainly the Left cringes when anyone suggests armed security in schools, or allowing teachers with concealed carry permits have guns in school. And again, Sandy Hook Elementary, a gun free zone, became a killing zone Friday. And one very heroic woman, the school principal sacrificed herself by charging the gunman. What if this woman had a gun?

Town officials in Connecticut say the principal who died in the rampage at an elementary school was killed while lunging at the gunman as she tried to overtake him.

Dawn Hochsprung was gunned down in Friday’s massacre in Newtown. Board of Education chairwoman Debbie Liedlien says administrators were coming out of a meeting when the gunman forced his way into the school and ran toward them.

Perhaps this woman, this hero would have chosen not to carry, but if she had, certainly she would have a much better chance against the shooter. But, again, any choice she would have made was negated by the gun free zone nonsense. Also note that if armed security had been in place the shooter would have been dead before he was able to force his way into the school. But, all of that matters not to the Left. All they can do is blame guns, and law-abiding gun owners. If the Left truly wants to point fingers they ought to go look into a mirror.

God bless Oklahoma!

9 Jun

No, not the Sooners, the state of Oklahoma, for recognizing the God-given right to carry a firearm!

Gov. Mary Fallin signed into law Tuesday a measure that allows Oklahomans to openly carry handguns.

The measure, Senate Bill 1733, allows those who are licensed to carry a firearm under the Oklahoma Self Defense Act a choice: to openly carry a weapon or conceal it.

It also allows a property owner to openly carry a handgun on his or her land. No concealed carry permit would be required.

To receive a license under the Oklahoma Self Defense Act, applicants must take a firearms safety and training course and submit to a background check by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation. Those convicted of felonies and certain misdemeanors may not receive a handgun license.

The measure takes effect Nov. 1.

Oh, the gun grabbers will whine about this, they hate the right for citizens to be armed, and the right to self-defense which is so closely tied to it!

A bad day to be a bad guy

An armed, and prepared citizen, with a concealed carry permit, likely saved some lives recently in South Carolina. Duane Lester has the story

Spartanburg County sheriff’s deputies responded to the Waffle House at 2230 Chesnee Highway just before 1:15 a.m. Saturday. Two masked men had entered the restaurant with the intention of robbing it, and at least one of them was armed, authorities said.

A customer, who is a concealed weapons permit holder, thwarted the robbery by pulling his gun and attempting to hold the men until deputies arrived. When one of the men pointed his gun at the customer, the patron fired, killing the teenager.

The teenager, later identified as Dante Lamont Williams, of 827 S. Edisto River Drive, Roebuck, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a written statement from Coroner Rusty Clevenger. Williams had been shot in the head and chest.

Sheriff Chuck Wright said he does not plan to charge the customer, who he says is “very upset” about the shooting.

As most anyone would be. I’m sure the customer didn’t go to the Waffle House to kill a kid. But when given the choice of allowing others to be hurt or preventing it, he stepped up.

And to shut up any liberals who want to talk about a Wild West shootout scenario, read this:

During a news conference Saturday night, Wright said even after the masked men entered the restaurant, the concealed weapons holder waited until the robbers began ordering customers to the floor and employees into the back – while waving a gun – to act. After pulling his .45-caliber Glock, the customer ordered the men to stay put until deputies arrived. Only after Williams pointed his Hi-Point 9mm at the man, did the customer fire, Wright said.

“The way you get shot by a concealed weapons permit holder is you point a gun at him,” the sheriff said.

I have been in that situation, in an alley behind a restaurant I ran in 1998. I am still glad that I did not have to fire my gun, but even more happy that I was able to defend myself and protect my life.

In her zeal to make Texas and the GOP look bad, the Maddow sticks her foot in her mouth up to the knee

On her MSNBC show Friday night, for example, Maddow was riding one of her favorite hobby horses, alleging that new voter ID laws enacted or proposed in 40 states are little more than GOP-led efforts to suppress voter turnout among core Democrat constituencies.

Occasionally Republicans tip their hand on this, as they have done in Texas, when Texas Republicans were cranking down voting rights, making it harder to vote in that state than it has ever been before, Texas Republicans carved out an exception to their new you-have-to-show-an-ID-to-vote-now rule. The exception is? (pause for dramatic effect) For anybody who has a concealed carry permit for a weapon. (Stated as story from Texas Observer shown, on new voter ID law, with words “concealed handgun license” broken out from story and prominently displayed). What do you think it is about having a gun that makes the Republican legislators of Texas relax about your eligibility to vote?

What is it about the leftist shills at MSNBC that causes them to relax when it comes to journalism standards?

Anyone checking the source cited by Maddow will see that Texas Republicans carved out no such “exception.” Here’s how the relevant passage in the Observer story reads –

The legislation requires voters to present one of five acceptable forms of photo ID — a driver’s license, military ID, passport, concealed handgun license or a special voter ID card provided free of charge by the state.

Possessing a concealed handgun license doesn’t exempt anyone from the new voter ID law — it allows a person holding such a license to comply with the law.

This of course is the only thing Leftists CAN DO, that is LIE! You might think that they would actually open their minds, and LEARN about issues before they go off on a rant, but no!

Wisconsin governor signs right to carry bill

Good for Scott Walker, good for Wisconsin!

On Friday, Wisconsin became the 49th state to allow its citizens to carry concealed firearms after Gov. Scott Walker signed into law a measure allowing the practice after a decades long debate.

The law goes into effect on Nov. 1 and carries some caveats, including mandatory firearm training and a background check.

State Sen. Pam Galloway, who spearheaded the measure, said the passage is a “victory for individual rights,” according to the Journal Sentinel. “”Concealed carry is not a Republican or Democrat issue – it’s about personal safety and providing our citizens an opportunity to protect themselves and their loved ones from harm.”

Of course the Leftist Statists, who loathe the right to self-defense are whining, cue Dennis Henigan, who is a professional whiner.

“We think Gov. Walker and the Wisconsin legislature just made the citizens of Wisconsin far less safe,” Dennis Henigan, Vice President at the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence, told The Daily Caller. The Brady Center is one of the country’s leading gun-control advocacy groups. “Other states that have made this mistake have found themselves legally arming very dangerous people.

Note that Henigan makes no effort to actually support his fallacious claim

Wyoming gets it on gun rights!

7 Mar

Via Bluegrass Pundit

Via The New American:

An important step was taken yesterday in Wyoming toward restoring the constitutionally protected right of Americans to keep and bear arms, as that state became the second in less than a year to enact legislation affirming the right of its citizens to carry a concealed firearm without a special government-issued license.

Following adoption in the state Senate, the vote of the House in the Wyoming legislature approved the bill by a vote of 48–8 several weeks ago, and Gov. Matt Mead signed it into law on March 3.

The right to carry a concealed firearm without a special license issued by the state is often referred to as “constitutional carry.”

Outstanding!
