Democrats hold illegal immigrants in higher esteem than our veterans

Despicable, absolutely despicable. And any  Republican who went along with this should be ashamed of themselves. There are dozens and dozens of things we could cut, but we target disabled vets? Every single member who voted for this should be thrown from office.

A note about the clip from Patty Murray promising to fix the problem, after the bill is passed. Why after? Why not fix it now, before passing it? This is just more double talk from our Congress. Don’t worry about this bill, we will fix it later, right, sure you will Congresswoman.

Another note about our politicians in Congress. Only the Tea Party members seem sincere about fixing our fiscal house. The career politicians seem far more concerned with retaining power than serving their country. We can change this culture of Congressional entitlement, or begin to at least, next November. We need to retake the Senate, and keep the House, but we also need to support more Conservative candidates like Milton Wolf in Kansas over incumbent Republicans who have forgotten what their job is.

Ed Scultz- a special kind of stupid

Good Freaking Grief!

Indeed, the same was said by MSNBC host Ed Schultz on Wednesday who revealed that Democratic members of Congress are approaching him for messaging tips. His unqualified recommendation: Democratic members should be shouting from the hilltops, “It works!”

“That’s all you have to say: it works,” Schultz declared. “And it’s only going to get better.”

Ed also thinks the Titanic was a very successful cruise ship, and that the Chicago Cubs are the winningest franchise in sports.

Colorado rids it self of another gun grabbing Statist

Evie Hudak is resigning, before she is booted from office by the people of Colorado! Good riddance to bad rubbish!

Democratic state Sen. Evie Hudak has resigned her seat to forestall a recall effort launched by constituents who sought to oust her from office for her support of gun-control laws passed by lawmakers last spring.

The senator made the announcement in a letter to Democratic leadership Wednesday. She did not attend a news conference scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at the Arvada Library, where some constituents offered words of support.

“By resigning I am protecting these important new laws for the good of Colorado and ensuring that we can continue looking forward,” Hudak wrote in her resignation letter in regard to her gun votes.

Hudak’s move ends the recall process, as now a Democratic vacancy committee can appoint someone to fill her seat until 2014.

Coward! She should have had the guts to face the recall. Of course, she should have never backed such foolish, meaningless gun control laws, but what else do you expect from a Democrat with no clue?

If Democrats think Obamacare is a PR disaster now, just wait

Wait till those employer provided plans start getting 86ed next year. Then the real caca hits the fan

One of the things you may have noticed in the past couple of weeks is that some liberal pundits are claiming that ObamaCare is essentially a public relations problem: The program is just wonderful, but there have been some P.R. problems with the rollout.

Democrats need to learn that denial is not the name of a river in Egypt:

Democratic leaders claim the bungled launch of Obamacare is just the latest news sensation — a media-stirred tempest that looks in the heat of the moment like it could upend the midterm election, but ends up fizzling well before voters head to the polls.
Some party strategists say they’re in denial.

And that perceived gap between party spin and facts on the ground is fueling worries that the White House and Democratic higher-ups aren’t taking the possible electoral blowback seriously enough or doing enough to shield their candidates. Democratic contenders in the toughest races are distinctly less convinced that Obamacare will fade as an election-year issue — and they can’t afford to just cross their fingers that things get ironed out or that Republicans revert to political hara-kiri.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said at a forum hosted by BuzzFeed recently that the rollout won’t “hurt us in 2014,” adding that “we’re proud” of the law. Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, in a recent appearance on CNN, went so far as to assert that Obamacare would be “an advantage” for Democratic candidates next year.

“Democrats will run on the Affordable Care Act and win,” she has also told reporters.

The White House, meanwhile, has come across as equally dismissive of Obamacare’s consequences for 2014.

And the worst news of all came out today in a CNN Poll

And speaking of complete meltdown . . .

We are starting to see a broad polling trend for Barack Obama, and it should have the White House worried — but maybe Obama’s fellow Democrats in Congress even more.  The latest CNN poll confirms what the Washington Post/ABC poll first noticed, and what the CBS poll corroborated — Obama’s approval decline involves more than just his performance.  The Americans public is souring on Obama as a person and as a brand, and that spells real trouble for his agenda . . . .

President Obama will not be on the ballot in 2014 or 2016, but the American people will be angry with him, and guess who else? His fellow Democrats, and likely any nominee the Democrats put forward in 2016. They will take the losses, and then the only question is will the GOP use enough common sense to reap the electoral benefits?

Only a fool still believes Democrats care about working people

Example: Charles Rangel, Democrat, Representative, he is upset about Obama’s lies about Obamacare because he truly cares about Americans, because he wants to get reelected and garner more wealth and power! In other words, Rangel is your typical Democrat, a power-hungry Statist who is not fit to shovel camel dung!

Via NYDN:

President Obama took his medicine Thursday for the botched rollout of Obamacare.

During an extraordinary hour-long news conference, Obama repeatedly said he deserves the blame of angry Americans for a debacle that has cast a shadow over his presidency and left Democrats anxious about the 2014 elections.

And to make amends, he reversed a cornerstone of Obamacare, at least for one year, saying people should be able to keep insurance policies that were supposed to be canceled. [...]

Still, some Democrats called for making legislative changes in addition to those Obama announced. Democrats said that colleagues vulnerable in next year’s election remained concerned about a backlash from voters.

“If I had the problem, saying you’re sorry doesn’t help me worth a damn at the polls, unless I can staple your remarks to the ballot,” Rep. Charles Rangel (D-Manhattan) said.

House Democrats have a message for Americans who have lost their insurance

DG7

And that message is, apparently tough luck!

One week ago, President Obama apologized for giving millions of Americans false assurances that they could keep their health care plans if they liked them. At a press conference Thursday evening, House Democratic leaders Nancy Pelosi, Steny Hoyer, Xavier Becerra, and Jim Clyburn were asked if they would like to apologize for making the same false claim. All of them declined.

“I don’t think there’s anything for us to apologize for,” said Clyburn.

Nothing to apologize for? How about for LYING to Americans? Or refusing to obey, yes OBEY, the wishes of the American people? They did not want this bill, and you Rep Clyburn, basically stuck your middle finger in their faces!

“There is nothing in the Affordable Care Act that said that your insurance company should cancel you,” said Minority Leader Pelosi.

Actually, you miserable Marxist, there IS. You are a miserable liar, and as phony as your multiple face lifts.

In fact, the Affordable Care Act says that plans created after March of 2010 must be cancelled, and the law also gave the administration the authority to write regulations that forced the cancellation of some policies that existed prior to March 2010.

“Did I ever tell my constituents that if they liked their plan they could keep it?” Pelosi asked. “I would have if I’d ever met anybody who liked his or her plan. But that was not my experience.”

Oh goodness, first she says she never said “if you like your plan…” then she says she WOULD have said that but she never heard from anyone who liked their plan. How does she look at herself in the mirror?

In fact, Pelosi said in 2009: “If you like what you have, you can keep it.” Pelosi’s website still states: “Keep your doctor, and your current plan, if you like them.”

Pelosi and the rest have told so many lies they cannot even remember them.

“As far as the Affordable Care Act is concerned, what the president said was completely accurate,” Pelosi said.

Delusional? No, this is what Marxists like these disgraces to America do, they lie, lie, lie, and then repeat the lies. They care about power, not people, and certainly not about America, or about American principles. There is no excusing these wretched bastards. They must GO in November 2014, get out to the polls, vote these people out of office!

Now THAT is the right way to mock Democrats

GREAT Tweet from RS McCain today

Democrat 2014 campaign slogan: “Now That We Totally Fucked Up Your Health Insurance, Give Us a Chance to Fuck Up Everything Else, Too.

Go read the post that goes along with that Tweet, it is pure gold

If you want to see a microcosm of the problems looming for Democrats in their 2014 mid-term campaign to recapture the House, look no further than New York’s 23rd Congressional District:

Martha Robertson is the Democratic candidate challenging Republican incumbent Tom Reed in NY-23, my home district.
We have highlighted Robertson many times before regarding her unsubstantiated fundraising claim that “GOP ops” tried to take down her website. Robertson’s campaign never has provided proof of that claim, leading to a fair amount of negative local television coverage and even national press attention.
The fundraising scandal, which I doubt is over, likely will be overshadowed by a much bigger problem: Robertson is a long-time and vocal supporter of mandates with the ultimate goal of single-payer.
In light of the Obamacare debacle, and the inability of the federal government even to set up a website portal, a complete federal government takeover of the health care system is a hard sell.

Basically, the Democrats own the train wreck that is Obamacare. The GOP has a GREAT opportunity here. Can they take advantage? They damn well better. Here is a bit of helpful advice from me to the GOP establishment. If a long-time Republican gets a primary challenger from the Tea Party, do not whine. If the incumbent is a Conservative they ought to welcome debate, and their challenger as well. And, if the incumbent loses the primary, then the establishment ought to welcome and support the Republican voters choice! Respect your base, without them, the GOP is done. In other words care more about America, than about your power.

To the Tea Party. Feel free to primary a less than stellar Conservative, I think it is great for our party. Challenge them, and debate them, but if you lose to them, support them anyway. Remember, the less Democrats in Congress the better. Basically, we need to have open challenges among ourselves, and then we need to support the winner. Again, recall that not one Republican voted for Obamacare in 2010, NOT ONE! A less than stellar Republican is better than a Democrat!

No, the Virginia election was not a rejection of the Tea Party, it was a failure of the establishment GOP

The media, and of course Democrats will point to the defeat of Ken Cuccinelli in the Virginia governors election and say that this is a huge, massive, epic, and crippling defeat for the Tea Party, and Conservatism. And when they say that, they will be either lying or engaging in a bit of propaganda. If any entity failed in that race, it was the GOP leadership, which allowed Democrats to outspend them 10-1, and a finger of blame might also point at Chris Christie. Christie, with his reelection assured was asked, repeatedly, to come campaign for Kuccinelli. He declined, how is that for team work? Thanks Governor, really

By the way, it seems that Kuccinelli won among the middle class voters in Virginia, while McAuliffe won among the poor, and wealthy. I guess the duel Democratic strategies of make the rich feel guilty, and promise the poor you will give them everything worked. Odd, because those who will be hardest hit by McAuliffe’s Left wing policies will be those poor that were so busy voting with their hands out that they could not understand that the promises of leftism NEVER materialize.

Because a vote for Ken Cuccinelli is a vote for banning pleasure or something

Ah the intellectual frauds that make up the Left are so predictable. Their basic strategy to win elections is to lie, obfuscate, fib, stretch the truth, sling mud, make false accusations, and if all else fails, lie some more. In the case of the race for Governor of Virginia, they are accusing the GOP candidate, Ken Cuccinelli of not liking oral sex, and who wants a prude for governor right? Besides All Republicans hate sex and pleasure. RS McCain reports, you decide you pleasure hating prudes!

Spencer Chretien describes some vignettes of campus life at the College of William & Mary, including this poster:

“Like oral sex?
Cuccinelli doesn’t.
He actually wants to make it a felony.
Vote Terry McCauliffe (sic) for Governor on Nov. 5th!
Don’t let Election Day go down without you.
#GetYourHeadInTheGame
Paid for by Students for Pleasure”

And I was like, “Students for Pleasure?”

When I was in college, they called themselves Delta Zetas.

These kids today . .

Of course we Republicans love pleasure, as do all people, and we derive our pleasures from many sources, in fact, we support individual liberty, unlike some other party starting with (D), and yes individual liberty DOES indeed include a right to pleasure. And, recall that Democrats love power more than they do pleasure, which is why they lie

If you hadn’t already heard, the ninth of these created some controversy in the Virginia gubernatorial race last week. Virginia Democrats, responsible for the content and distribution of the flyers, decided to remove them after they sparked a minor hullabaloo.  We can assume, then, that at least here in Williamsburg, “Students for Pleasure,” whatever that is, has picked up the slack and done the Democrats’ dirty work. (Considering his business background, I would not be surprised if Terry McAuliffe himself had devised some shady scheme to transfer funds from the Democratic Party of Virginia to “Students for Pleasure,” but that’s beside the point.)  Speaking for myself, I’m glad there was offense over the poster; at least a trace of decency remains in our political campaigns and our society.  Oh, and in case you’re wondering, Ken Cuccinelli has never supported banning oral sex—he only was defending the law that protects kids from sexual predators. But since when has truth mattered to liberals?

And honestly, why were people offended? As my brief, spontaneous survey of typical college billboards demonstrates above, all colleges want to talk about and promote is sex—lessons about different types of sex; the 300 or so different sexual orientations; birth control at the earliest possible age; abortion and why spiteful Republicans want to take it away; dating violence, which, to liberals, could be eliminated if we just had more extreme feminism, social workers, and government programs.  Any college student will be quite familiar with this sort of nonsensical rhetoric and speechifying that we hear on campuses about all things sex every day.

Why was offense taken to the flyer about oral sex? It’s par for the course. It’s normal, mundane, and not edgy to most college students. The political party that boos God three times at their national convention and equates voting for Barack Obama with losing one’s virginity has now put up a poster talking about preserving our “right to oral sex.” Big whoop.  The flyer should be put back up and Democrats should stop hiding from what they really believe.

A note to Virginia voters, a vote for Cuccinelli is a vote for the Constitution, and individual liberty, and yes, that would include, well you know.

Will Obamacare finally make Democratic voters wake up?

Chris at Wyblog asks, and offers up numerous examples of how Obamacare is already screwing the people, it is supposed to help. Please go read the cases he cites. But what of his question? Will people hurt by this bill stop the madness of supporting the Leftist party? Many will, but many will stay stuck on stupid. The administration will, of course, blame higher premiums on “greedy insurance companies” who are just out to make “obscene profits” and, sadly, many will eat that up as gospel. And, of course, the Democrats will use that as a reason to go to their ultimate goal, single payer, government-run health care. For me the question is will enough folks abandon the Magic Obama Bus to matter in the next two elections? For, in my view, those two elections will decide whether our nation long survives.

Noted knuckle-dragger doubles down on hateful anti Tea Party hate speech

I was going to title this post Dear, Alan Grayson, go Fuck Yourself, but every time I look at Grayson, I think knuckle-dragger so let me compromise by saying Fuck You you Knuckle-dragging buffoon

Florida Democratic Rep. Alan Grayson doubled down his extremely provocative rhetoric on Wednesday, in the days after his campaign sent out a fundraising email with an image likening the tea party to the Klan that showed two Klansmen in the background with a burning cross used as the “t” in “tea party.”

However, Grayson took his tea party-KKK comparison another step further and said the tea party engaged in hate speech, racism, discrimination, bigotry and in some case even threats of violence.

“I think the tea party should expel those members who engage in hate speech,” Grayson said to an unidentified reporter with Orlando ABC affiliate WFTV. “So many members of the tea party have engaged in hate speech against the president, against the first lady, against numerous members of the Congress and against me. And we could give you examples of that.”

See, Grayson says he could give examples, but will not. Wanna take a stab as to why he will not give examples? Because he cannot. Grayson is a morally vacuous intellectual lightweight. All he has is hateful rhetoric and false claims of RAAAAACISM.

Exit question, if Grayson thinks “hate speech” which is Liberal code for I cannot win this debate intellectually so I am going to smear my opponent, is grounds for being expelled from the Tea Party then maybe the Democratic party should expel him. Hopefully the voters will take that step next year.

Speaker Face Lift has finally lost the last of her mind

Via Weasel Zippers

Via Politico:

Nancy Pelosi isn’t going anywhere.

While many thought the California Democrat would step down as House minority leader after this Congress, Pelosi confidants now believe she will remain atop House leadership through 2016 and maybe even longer.

Pelosi herself won’t tip her hand about her plans. But she doesn’t appear to be contemplating retirement.

“I’m not here on a shift. I’m here on a mission — and when my work is done, that’s when I will leave,” Pelosi said in a recent interview with POLITICO.

A mission she says. Hmmm, seems that mission is to pad her riches, and destroy what is left of our Constitution.

I think MSNBS has found a new host

His new show could be called UNHINGED! Maybe STALKING the Conservatives! Seems right up the MSNBS alley! On second thought maybe the new show could be called Civility Alley?

Democrats are always calling for civility in politics, but it’s a shame they don’t follow their own advice. Their rhetoric is so out of control they’ve inspired one guy to go off and threaten the life of Senator Ted Cruz, over and over again.

The man under FBI investigation for making violent threats against Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz was inspired to encourage violence by Democratic Party messaging efforts.

Troy Gilmore, Jr., who identifies himself as having served in the U.S. Navy, is under FBI investigation for possible violent threats on Twitter against Republican senator Cruz. The FBI has communicated with Gilmore as part of the investigation and is monitoring for possible violence inspired by Gilmore’s online writings. …

The Twitter account of Gilmore, named “DarkNight,” is now protected. But Gilmore wrote numerous threats toward Cruz on his Facebook page, the address of which ends with the term “countdown543,” while linking to anti-Republican activist web pages paid for by the Democratic National Committee, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and a Democratic congressional campaign.

“I WILL SAY IT AGAIN LET’S GO TO TED CRUZ,HOME AND KICK HIS STINKING ASS FOR CAUSING THIS MESS.YOU CAN BET HE HAS HIS PAYCHECK AND HEALTH BENEFITS FROM THE SENATE AND CANADA. HE LIVES AT [address redacted by The Daily Caller], THE FUCKING SCUM,” Gilmore posted on Facebook October 14, linking to a Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee web page entitled “Demand Ted Cruz Denounce Disgusting Tea Party Attacks on President Obama.” (Read More)

There’s much more at the link. Gilmore posted over and over again Cruz’s home address, possibly inspiring other unhinged liberals to go after Cruz and his family. Someone should alert Debbie Wasserman Schulz, I think this guy needs a lecture on civility.

If you think that President Obama does not want to end the shutdown……

You would be right! He wants to cause as much pain for the people, believing they will blame the GOP. This is all about one thing the 2014 mid-term elections, and Obama really digs using the word ransom apparently

This is getting so old. House Republicans came up with yet another proposal to fund the government and avoid hitting the debt ceiling. Guy Benson noted that the plan Harry Reid called “extreme” in a diatribe on the Senate floor, is very close to the Senate plan. But Democrats can’t agree to it, because then they couldn’t go out and accuse the Republicans of being partisan. The White House rejected the proposal before Nancy Pelosi could even get her face in front of a microphone.

An hour earlier rank-and-file Republicans came out of the meeting to say their leaders had proposed taking a plan being worked on in the Senate and attaching the two Obamacare changes, and were going to put that bill on the House floor later Tuesday.

But by 11 a.m., Mr. Boehner and his chief lieutenants sounded much less certain, and several Republicans said it would be a close vote if the bill were brought to the floor.

Democratic leaders said not to count on them for help in getting the bill through the House, and the White House also rejected the plan, saying it preferred the Senate’s negotiations.

That deal, still under construction, doesn’t make any major dents in the president’s health law.

The White House released a statement that includes the word “ransom,” of course.

Yes, of course!

Hey kids, who is ready for some race pimpin’!

And not just any old race pimpin’ either! Oh no, we have none other than Je$$e Jack$on who thinks the Confederacy is still around.

Screen-shot-2013-10-08-at-7.30.03-PM

Is it me, or are Democrats playing the Confederacy Card a lot recently? Really showing their desperation now. They are like a bunch of vampires locked out of a blood bank as the sun is rising.

Clean? What the hell would Harry Reid know about clean?

Oh those Democrats. they love to control the language of political debate. And by control the language, I do not mean control the debate by substance, or by the merit of their ideology. I mean they wish to inject emotionalism into the debate by misusing words. fair, equal, choice, bipartisan, partisan, are among the words Democrats have used to control debate in recent  times. They basically use these words over, and over, and again to convince Americans that they are best served if Democrats get what they want.

In the current government shutdown, Democrats like Harry Reid keep using the word “clean” as in those damned dirt Republicans who eat babies, and push old ladies off cliffs need to pass a “clean” funding bill. Clean? What does that even mean? Well, trust me when I say that Reid and his posse define clean as “we get everything we want and those Republicans can suck it!” This as much like Democrats misuse the words partisan and bipartisan. Those words have meanings, but Democrats spin those words to mean  “we get everything we want and those Republicans can suck it!”

Of course, Democrats have been bastardizing the meanings of words for a long time because they must lie, and lie to you and me to get their way. Honesty? PLEASE! Democrats only want more, as in more of our money, more of our liberties, and MORE control! And if they have to tell the same lie a thousands of times, they will. And if you do not believe me, I guess you still think you can keep your health coverage and doctor too!

The Democrats war on kids with cancer UPDATED! Harry Reid’s Cranial Rectal issues

Video via Lonely Conservative

Good for Dana Bash for asking the question. Reid’s answer exposes his, and his fellow Democrats rank arrogance. Talk about an insensitive response. Other people have problems too, so according to Senator Weasel Dick, kids with cancer can go without help so the Democrats can play politics, and finish forcing Obama Care on people who never wanted it.

Exit question: Is there anything Democrats will not do to gain total control of our lives?

UPDATE! Smitty notes something i should have caught at 49 seconds into the video asks this

0:49 What right do they have to pick and choose what part of government’s going to be funded?

And the Constitution says:

All Bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills.

So if the House, which has remained oddly stuck in size since 1910, and thus may not represent the people with optimal fidelity, originates a bill, it’s kind of odd that the Dim Bulb from Vegas not know from whence that right originates.

OUCH!

Congressman Peter King, feel free to go fuck yourself

Asshole! I suppose he never noticed when Democrats attacked George W. Bush just because he was from a different party?

Via The Hill:

People are willing to demonize Obama because he’s from a different party, Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) said.

Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) said Tuesday that there are about 30 to 40 Republicans in Congress who refuse to recognize the legitimacy of Obama’s presidency and are seeking to erase everything that’s happened during his administration.

King made the remarks in a discussion with Chris Matthews on MSNBC’s Hardball, after the host asked how many Republicans would like to “erase [Obama’s] record as if he was never here.” [...]

“This is a very dangerous aspect to our government,” King said. “The fact that we have people who are willing to demonize the president of the United States because he’s from a different party.”

Way to prostate yourself on MSNBS Rep. King. Gutless wonder! I suppose we can expect King to be doing ads for knee pads soon.

The dumbest Tweet ever?

This might be. John Fugelsang certainly did some serious digging to get this nugget of idiocy out of The Pit of Eternal Leftist Inanity

This is the natural result of Liberals going to the same well over and again. Eventually, it dries up and you end up saying/writing/tweeting something so stupid that you make a complete mockery of yourself. Fugelsang illustrates this by trying to tie the Confederacy to a government shutdown. a shutdown I might point out is the result of Harry Reid and president Obama being unwilling to budge an inch on either delaying, defunding, or altering Obamacare in any way.Screen-shot-2013-09-30-at-4.33.20-PM

If I may, allow me to set something straight here. The Confederacy was formed when seven states decided that the Northern States were going to use force to unfairly tax them, trample their state sovereignty, yes, slavery being one among several issues at stake, but not, in my view the most crucial one and centralize power in Washington rather than in the States. What they were doing was what the 13 colonies had done before them. They declared their right to form a new government, and wanted only to be let alone. Upon Lincoln’s call for 75,000 troops to force these states back into a union they no longer wished to be in the states of Arkansas, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia seceded. Their leaving the union had nothing to do with slavery, a fact too many people, even many Conservatives overlook.

Another fact overlooked, or ignored by Republicans today is that at that time the Democratic party WAS the Conservative party. It was the party that believed the Constitution could only be changed by amending it. Many Republicans believed in higher law that superseded the Constitution. It was the disregard for the Constitution that scared the Southern States. The ideal of States being sovereign was dear to many Americans in that time, not only Southerners but Northerners as well. The issue of slavery has been used by Liberals, and many modern Conservatives to squelch any debate on the causes of the war, or on the worthiness of hailing Lincoln as a “great” president. But, that issue was more complex than many today are willing to accept. For instance, you hear people say that the South wanted to expand slavery to new territories. While this is true of some Southerners, consider 94% of Southerners owned no slaves, it is also true that Southerners held that territories were FEDERAL property, thus the sovereignty states held did not apply. These same Southerners, Jefferson Davis being a prime example, also held that when  a territory became a state, it then had every right to allow, or ban slavery. In other words, that was a States Rights issue.

Sadly too many folks today never study the real causes, positions, issues, etc of that day. The South was bad because, slavery. Lincoln was a saint because he “ended” slavery, and anything he did, like imprisoning thousands and shuttering newspapers for speaking out against his policies, is thus excused, again because, slavery!

One last thing about  the Democratic Party of that day. The Democratic Party was born out of the Democrat-Republicans, the  party of Madison, Jefferson, and Monroe among others. That party split into the Democratic Party and the National Republicans in the late 1820′s with the National Republicans fading away very quickly. Again, at that time the Democratic Party WAS the party more affiliated with the Founders than their political opponents the Whigs were. It was out of the Whig party that the Republican Party rose, yes, with a strong sentiment against slavery. Of course many Republicans of that time wanted slavery abolished, and the former slaves gone from the country. Yes Lincoln was one of those who supported that. Google “Liberia” if you have doubts.

Eventually the Republicans and Democrats switched roles, we all know who the Conservatives and Liberals are today. Of course, it ought to be remembered that after the War Between the States Republicans included Progressives like Teddy Roosevelt, and so did the Democrats with the likes of Woodrow Wilson. It was not always so easy to define a politician by his party affiliation.

I write these things because I tire of the ignorance I hear about the War of Northern aggression, and the bashing of the South and the Confederacy as some evil enterprise that sought to destroy self-government when in fact the Confederacy was the greatest stand against the centralization of governmental power. Yes, the war changed this nation, and yes the end of slavery was an overdue result, and a result that would have happened even without a war. But the destruction of State Sovereignty, and the rise of an all-powerful federal government was a drastic blow to this nation. If you do not believe me, look around. look at how much more powerful the federal started becoming after Appomattox. Look what disgraces like Teddy Roosevelt, who should be removed from Mt. Rushmore, and replaced by Madison, Woodrow Wilson, FDR, LBJ, Jimmy Carter, and Barack Obama have done to America since the turn of the century. The change they brought to America was largely made possible by the destruction of state sovereignty.

Maybe these soldiers fought for a lot of the same principles?

Remember the Colorado Democrat recalled by voters?

Here is video to remind you. Check out that shocked face when Brooke Baldwin shuts her down

Ah yes, Angela Giron, screaming “voter suppression”, a sadly typical claim from Democrats. And, in Giron’s case a VERY odd claim. As HotAir reports, Ms. Giron was pretty eager to stamp out opposition when it suited her.

If Giron’s eager to blame the results on something other than support for gun rights, though, she could always blame it on a backlash to her and John Morse’s personal jackassery:

As it turns out, Morse and Giron sealed their fates on March 4, the day that the anti-gun bills were heard in Senate committees. At Morse’s instruction, only 90 minutes of testimony per side were allowed on each of the gun bills. As a result, hundreds of Colorado citizens were prevented from testifying even briefly. Many of them had driven hours to come to the Capitol, traveling from all over the state.

That same day, 30 Sheriffs came to testify. They too were shut out, with only a single Sheriff allowed to testify on any given bill. So while one Sheriff testified, others stood up with him in support…

When Morse shut that down, and Chairperson Giron went along, they crossed the double-red line of Colorado government. Had the seven gun control bills (one of which I testified in favor) been heard on March 4-6, instead of being rammed through committees on March 4, the recall might never have happened. It’s one thing to lose; it’s another to thing to lose when you didn’t even have the opportunity to present your reasoning. While the gun control bills were before the Senate in March, President Morse urged his caucus to stop reading emails, to stop reading letters from constituents, to stop listening to voicemails, to vote for the gun bills and ignore the constituents. Giron, presciently following this strategy, had allowed citizens to raise Second Amendment concerns at a single town hall meeting, and thereafter refused to discuss the issue at public fora.

Oh, so Giron wanted to shut people up and ram through legislation she favored. Gee I guess she never thought that she is supposed to LISTEN to her constituents. Allahpundit sums it up

They did their best to deny their opponents a voice — let’s call that “voter suppression” — so their opponents spoke on Tuesday night. Game over.

I could not think of more worthy miscreant to be booted from office! Good riddance to bad rubbish!
