This, of course, applies to almost anything, since the Left is almost always wrong about everything. If you are not sure where to stand on an issue, just go read a Leftist’s take, and take the opposite side. You will be right about 99.8% of the time. At American power, Donald Douglas has a great video explaining one area, one of many, where the Left is wrong
I am out of here, starting tomorrow, and will return in two weeks, which leaves Ed Daley completely in charge! Here is my salute to my blogging pals, until I return!

Do these malcontents ever get tired of spewing the same madness? Do they ever actually study history? Are they not aware that their beloved Marxism caused the deaths of over 100,000,000 people last century? Are they not aware of the horror anmd suffering in the gulags? Are they blind to all the suffering?
Douglas links to a piece by Kelly O’Connell that explains a great deal.
Twentieth century leftist progressives developed a Neo-Marxism less warlike and more psychologically attractive by combining Marx with Freud, creating a highly sexualized socialism. The Frankfurt School were academic Marxists who escaped Frankfurt, Germany to avoid Hitler’s wrath. Relocated to the U.S., they successfully infused Marxism into American universities. For example, “Political Correctness” is a Frankfurt movement, and the first modern use of this phrase is found in Chairman Mao’s “Little Red Book,” according to Geoffrey Hughes’ “Political Correctness: A History of Semantics.”
Marxist theories now dominate Western universities. Movements like Race Theory, Feminism, Gay Rights, Modern Art, Critical Theory, Animal Rights, Gender Studies, abortion advocacy, Deconstruction, penal reform, Hate Crimes legislation, etc are all informed by Frankfurt scholarship. Redefined Marxism has produced spectacularly disruptive results. Some argue Obama’s election is a direct result of cultural Marxism’s success. Universal Health Care is another Marxist holy grail. The USSR had free medical treatment, notable for a staggering lack of basic supplies, horribly outdated methods, and horrifically filthy conditions.
This feeds into the oft-repeated Leftist line that goes “Communism just has not been done correctly yet.” The leftists have conditioned themselves to believe that they can get Marxism right. Somehow, despite all evidence to the contrary, they think it will work this time.
It won’t, because it can’t. It fails because people are not sheep, not hapless beings looking for sameness of results, means, and rewards. Ambition is part of human nature, as is individualism. We crave challenges, competition, and success. We are all very different, and any system that attempts to force us into “sameness” will fail every time.
In the end Marxism fails because it places faith in all-ecompassing government, not in people.
Another Saturday, and another venture into shameless link-whoring for hits! Late start today, I have been painting all day, but the linktasticalness must go forward! So, away we goes!

Donald Douglas has a tremendous Full metal Jacket Post up on his site. Included in that is a link to a fabulous piece by Caroline Glick. In the column Glick takes President Obama to task for the lack of real honesty in his speech to the “Muslim world”. Here is a taste, but please, go read the entire piece.
He spoke of the need to fight Islamic terrorists without mentioning that their intellectual, political and monetary foundations and support come from the very mosques, politicians and regimes in Saudi Arabia and Egypt that Obama extols as moderate and responsible.
He spoke of the need to grant equality to women without making mention of common Islamic practices like so-called honor killings, and female genital mutilation. He ignored the fact that throughout the lands of Islam women are denied basic legal and human rights. And then he qualified his statement by mendaciously claiming that women in the US similarly suffer from an equality deficit. In so discussing this issue, Obama sent the message that he couldn’t care less about the plight of women in the Islamic world.
There is much more great analysis in the column, including Obama’s soft speak on Israel’s struggle to exist. As Gick points out, Obama came nowhere near hard-truths, or brutal honesty. What a shame. He had an opportunity to lead, really lead, but, it seems that his fascination with moral equivalency got in his way.
