Teaching your children to hate you, and America

10 May

Why is the Left winning? Because not only do winners write the history, but those who write the textbooks win too

Donald Douglas calls attention to an interesting argument by Bruce Thornton about the “trickle-down” of leftism in education:

We often focus on the ideological biases of the university, where the more lunatic examples of political correctness get the most attention. But in education as in economics, there is a trickle-down effect. The grandees at the elite universities train the PhD’s who go on to second and third tier institutions, where they in turn train the students who get high school and grade school teaching credentials. They also write most of the textbooks that end up in K-12 classrooms. Thus the progressive ideology metastasizes throughout the educational system, determining the curriculum, the textbooks, and the point of view of the teachers. At that level the ideas may be garbled, half-baked, incoherent, and a collection of clichés and slogans. But they are still toxic and effective at transmitting a world-view to impressionable minds.

Please go read the whole thing, because this is exactly right: When I graduated from a state university 30 years ago, the curriculum was not corrupted with “critical theory,” “post-modernism” and other such fashionable nonsense. Our professors were perhaps, on average, a bit more liberal than our parents, but none of our professors were ranting Marxists or other such fringe ideologues.

Go read it all, and pass it around. I have long since concluded that Liberals push for a “right to go to college” and now for universal preschool so that they might better indoctrinate our kids. They sooner they can get their propaganda into our kids minds, and the longer they can pump that propaganda into their minds, the more dominant Liberalism will become.

Remember when I said there was something in the Obama budget that worried me?

10 Apr

I noted a few days ago that “universal pre-school” was part of Obama’s budget. Well others are taking note, and now we are getting to see a bit more of what is behind that curtain. 1389 Blog has the details

Obama: Put Nation’s 4-Year-Olds in ‘Public Preschool;’ Will Save on ‘Child-Care Costs’

(CNSNews.com) – In the message he issued along with his budget proposal on Wednesday morning, President Barack Obama said he wants to see 4-year-old children in the United States enrolled in public schools.

Obama said America needs to start enrolling 4-year-olds to make sure the children are “better prepared for the demands of the global economy” and to help parents save on “child-care costs.”

After saying the United States needs to “equip our citizens with the skills and training” to fill jobs in manufacturing, energy and infrastructure, Obama said, “And that has to start at the earliest possible age.”

Too few American 4-year-olds are enrolled in school, the president argued.

“But today, fewer than 3 in 10 4-year-olds are enrolled in a high-quality preschool program, and the high cost of private preschool puts too much of a financial burden on middle class families,” he said.

“The Budget therefore includes a proposal that ensures 4-year-olds across the country have access to high-quality preschool education through a landmark new initiative in partnership with the States,” Obama said. “And it increases the availability of early learning for our youngest children to help their growth and development during the formative early years of life.

“Providing a year of free, public preschool education for 4-year-old children is an important investment in our future,” said Obama. “It will give all our kids the best start in life, helping them perform better in elementary school and ultimately helping them, and the country, be better prepared for the demands of the global economy.:

The goal, I fear, is not to better educate our young ones. I would argue it is to better indoctrinate them to be good little Leftists. 1389 agrees

The purpose of this is to remove kids from the healthy environment of family, church, and neighborhood, and put them into a building where they will be warehoused, regimented, and indoctrinated by overpaid, unionized government employees. We can’t afford any more of that nonsense.

Absolutely!

Texas Education Committee Bans Planned Parenthood From Public Schools

13 Mar

Panel OKs School Ban On Planned Parenthood – American Statesman

The Senate Education Committee this morning approved a bill to ban Planned Parenthood from providing sex education materials or instruction in public schools in a 6-2 vote, after little discussion.

……….

Democratic Sens. Royce West and Leticia Van de Putte voted in opposition to Senate Bill 521 by Sen. Ken Paxton, R-McKinney.

Public school districts that opt to provide sex education must make all course materials available for public review and allow parents to exempt children from any portion of the course without penalty.

Paxton’s bill, and an identical House measure by Rep. Jeff Leach, R-Plano, would add two requirements:

Individuals could not provide sex education instruction if they belong to, or are affiliated with, an organization that performs abortions. Materials from abortion providers also could not be used in the classroom.

If materials or instruction is provided by somebody who is not a school district employee, parents must sign a waiver allowing their children to participate in the class.

Paxton’s bill drew passionate testimony during a public hearing last week, but the committee vote was delayed by a lack of a quorum.

Supporters of the bill accused Planned Parenthood of placing an improper emphasis on sexual freedom and abortion rights that is inappropriate for school-age children. Opponents accused Paxton of attempting to place unneeded restrictions on local instruction that would force some school districts to drop sex education despite high rates of teen pregnancy.

Is there any bigger threats to our kids than public schools?

8 Mar

Blazing Cat Fur has a story out of London that gives us another glimpse into the insanity of the Left

A primary school has come under fire after banning its pupils from playing cops and robbers or any playground game which involves ‘imaginary weapons’.

School chiefs at Worcesters Primary School in Enfield, north London, outlawed the games over a fear that they will upset other children.

Now, for those who say, that we are not Europe, consider stories very similar to this are happening in our schools, several cases of kids punished for playing cops and robber type games already. This amounts to punishing kids for being normal kids. They are trying, in my view, to indoctrinate these kids to be passive, to hate guns, and look at self-defense as bad as well. There is a concentrated effort by the Left to eradicate all vestiges of Western culture, this is part of that effort, make no mistake.

It would seem that the Pit of Eternal Liberal Stupidity is, indeed, bottomless

Pit of Eternal Liberal Stupidity

Pit of Eternal Liberal Stupidity

Wouldn’t it be refreshing, just once, if Liberals admitted they were wrong instead of doubling down on inanity

Here’s a copy of the letter the school sent to parents:

Dear Parents and Guardians:

I am writing to let you know about an incident that occurred this morning in one of our classrooms and encourage you to discuss this matter with your child in a manner you deem most appropriate.

During breakfast this morning, one of our students used food to make inappropriate gestures that disrupted the class. While no physical threats were made and no one [was] harmed, the student had to be removed from the classroom.

As you are aware, the … Code of Student Conduct and appropriate consequences related to violations of the code are clearly spelled out in the Student Handbook, which was sent home during the first week of school and can be found on our website, http://www.aacps.org….

If your children express that they are troubled by today’s incident, please talk with them and help them share their feelings. Our school counselor is available to meet with any students who have the need to do so next week. In general, please remind them of the importance of making good choices.

HT: Legal Insurrection

So, if a student, a child, eating a strawberry Pop-Tart into a shape, because seven-year-olds are kids and kids do that kind of thing, causes a teacher with obvious mental shortcomings to freak out, other kids might need counseling? Excuse me while my head explodes.

Ah yes, the Left’s dedication to “education”

14 Feb

The Left focuses so much of their rhetoric around the importance of education. Have you ever wondered why? Notice that every ideology, every religion, every group thinks education is important. For some groups, it is because they want to raise future generations to be both well versed in history, science, math skills, and to be taught to think. Conservatives desire this from education. As Conservatives, we believe that open-minded thinkers will embrace our ideals of free markets, individual liberty and responsibility, and a belief in other core Conservative values. Other groups, however, are not as confident in teaching children to think for themselves.

Liberals used to tend to believe in much the same manner of education as Conservatives, but time has changed that. As Liberals have slowly morphed into Progressives, and indeed, into full-blown Leftists, their focus on the importance of education has taken on a new focus. Rather than teaching children to think critically, the Left has increasingly pushed for children to be indoctrinated to think what they are supposed to. One very good example is the current debate on gun rights, and “gun control”. For several years now, there has been a very clear campaign by the Left to turn guns into evil objects which have no good use or purpose. We have seen  numerous examples of “zero-tolerance” in schools being used to not only indoctrinate children to hate and fear guns, but to punish children as young a five for violating these zero-tolerance policies.

Now, I am sure we can all agree that children ought not bring guns to schools, but bringing a gun to school is usually not the violation kids commit. Children have been suspended, or in some other way punished for the following “violent acts” Bringing a GI Joe doll to school because the doll had a tiny plastic pistol. Bringing a pink, clear water pistol to school. Using various objects, like chicken fingers, or the child’s fingers to point and say “bang”. Playing games like cops and robbers, or in a recent example, a child throwing a pretend hand grenade while playing a child’s game. Drawing a picture of a soldier, because the drawing included a rifle. Having a picture of a gun on a computer. One child  was even punished because when asked if armed teachers would help prevent school shootings he said yes. Another child punished for daring to talk about a hunting trip her had gone on.

There are hundreds of such examples to draw on, but I think the point has been made. What is going on in our schools is NOT about education, or safety, it it about indoctrination. And certainly guns are not the only targets. what we are seeing is the Left using “education” not to teach, but to reprogram young minds. Of course, the Left has to use such tactics don’t they? I mean their ideals are a pack of failures. So, to trust independent minds to look at Leftism, and its history of suffering, oppression, and slaughter and have those minds actually embrace such a set of ideals is unthinkable to a Leftist. So, the Left bangs the drums of more education spending, and a desire for everyone to go to college, and, as President Obama mentioned in his latest campaign speech, or was that supposed to be the State of the Union speech, a push for a “right” to K-3, and K-4. Just imagine what Leftists can do to kids if they actually can have them from ages 3-22? Why they can push out a generation after generation of mind-numbed Liberals.

Yes, there is a culture war going on, and that war is for the minds of our kids. I would impress upon every parent the importance of home-schooling, or private schools, if that school actually teaches and is not just a smaller indoctrination camp public school, and the importance of colleges like Hillsdale that takes no federal money. And the need for YOU as a parent to educate your kids as much as possible to counteract the Leftist mantra being pushed on them. The Left is trying to sow the seeds of America’s destruction in the minds of our children. We must fight like Hell against that evil venture.

So, how deep in the Pit of Eternal Stupidity is our education system?

21 Jan

Apparently this deep, and still digging

These people should be beaten with sticks, then fired, then beaten with sticks again. This is all part of our new bed-wetting mentality where “violence” and evil “guns” are concerned. Common sense? Out the door, replaced, it would seem, by nanny statism , and buffoons who I would not trust to walk my dog. Now, some might say I am being over the top. That is also part of our overly sensitive, panic-whenever-some-five-year-old utters words like shoot, gun, or in any way acts like, well, a normal child. Instead of coming down on the idiots who make decisions like the pin heads at this school did, we are supposed to look at those who get angry about it like they are the problem somehow. Excuse me, but that thinking is horse s#@%! I should be angry when little kids are treated like this. We should all be seriously pissed when a normal five-year-old is ordered to undergo a psych evaluation for the crime of playing like five-year-olds have been playing forever.

This is, folks a symptom of the Leftism in our schools. It is not all in biased textbooks, or biased teachers. It is in the school policies, that are written, seemingly, by Communist indoctrinators. Schools are teaching our kids that violence is always bad, yes, including self-defense. We are teaching them that guns are always evil, that even mentioning the word gun is dangerous, and abnormal. Sort of like we have been teaching them that saying the word Jesus, or God is offensive and unwelcome. In fact, it seems that the agenda is more about erasing every last vestige of American culture, and our history is now deemed offensive, dangerous, and well, to use a word  a little kid might use, icky! This is not what schools ought to be doing, and if that does not upset you, or make you angry, then you ought to re-examine your view of things.

AGAIN! Head of Chicago Teachers Union accuses Teach for America of “helping to kill children”

20 Dec

Karen Lewis is the latest Leftist to play tragedy pimp over the Sandy Hook Elementary shootings. Via The Daily Caller

Only days after the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School, the head of the nation’s third-largest teachers union is blaming Teach For America for helping “kill and disenfranchise children.”

Karen Lewis, head of the Chicago Teachers Union, bashed the national organization and one of its vice presidents, David Rosenberg, in a message that appears on the blog of educational policy analyst Diane Ravitch.

“We in Chicago have been the victims of their experiments on our children since the current secretary of Education ‘ran’ CPS,” Lewis writes, calling Teach For America a group of “education missionaries” who view teaching in poor communities as a “stepping stone to a more lucrative career.”br

Lewis admits she is using the Sandy Hook tragedy to advance the agenda of her union.

Lewis, I would imagine, cares about nothing but her wallet. She knows about pushing the teachers union agenda, which likely has not one damn thing to do with teaching kids.

Seminole high school shut down after student brings mercury thermometer to school

No one was put in harm’s way, but a hazmat crew was there as a precaution.

Lol. If the report is accurate, the school was locked down over an intact mercury thermometer. Did they think it was radioactive? I’d love to know the salary of the (undoubtedly) highly credentialed education professional who made that call.

How long until a  school is shutdown over a kid with an incandescent light bulb? Think about that.

You know there was a time when ass clowns like this would have gotten their ass whipped don’t you?

24 Jul

Gateway Pundit has a video of  a group of college students quietly protesting Obamacare. They are assaulted, OK, one of them is blindsided by some guy, who was likely drunk. This is why I do not go to protests folks. As I have explained before, if I was there, this guy would have had to fight, sorry, I know, legally speaking, the kids did the right thing, they did not throw any punches, they got his tag number and called the police. Hopefully the guy is charged with something. But, I always think back I our history when I see things like this. If the same guy pulls that stunt 40 years ago, he is going to get his ass beat, and rightfully so. So, what happened to us? Why are we, Conservatives, so often the victims of this crap? Well the Left are thuggish yes, but there is another reason. They know we will likely not hit back. This guy knew these kids would not fight back. If he thought they would have, would he have acted like he did?

Would I be wrong in asking my fellow Conservatives WWGSPD? That is What Would George S. Patton Do?

Chris Hayes epitomizes the definition of educated beyond one’s hat size

27 May

I like to say that people who are, while educated, lacking in real wisdom, are educated beyond their hat size. What I mean is that they do not possess the ability to apply their education to the real world. They are, at times, lacking common sense, and do not, apparently have the capacity to accept simple truths. These people are too enamored with nuance. I have worked with such people. Yes they are intelligent, well educated, but they can never seem to grasp that the solution to a problem, or the answer to a question might be the simplest one available. Maybe to them, simple always equals stupid. Their addiction to over thinking and over analyzing everything prevents them from accepting that some things just are what they are.

This is not to say, of course, that every answer or solution is simple, but often times they are. Our Founders had great wisdom. Yes, they were thinkers, that IS part of being wise. But wisdom also comes from accepting simple truths. Truths that are self-evident. Truths like we are created with certain rights, and simple truths like people are best left to do for themselves in most situations. Simple truths seem to escape folks like Chris Hayes of MSNBS, News Busters has a clip of Hayes admitting that he in “uncomfortable” acknowledging that we call those who die fighting for our country heroes. That would seem obvious to most of us. We would take it for granted that they are heroic figures. We can accept that we owe them a tremendous debt of gratitude. We can accept that without them, we have lost our freedoms long ago.

For Hayes, though, that is just too straight forward. He confuses honoring the fallen with justifying war. Again, it is a simple, and I would say undeniable fact that sometimes violence, and war is the highest form of violence is a necessity, But, Hayes seems to struggle with that very basic truth, therefore, he struggles with calling our fallen heroes. News Busters has the video of his “well educated” but unwise mind struggling to comprehend something that really is so very simple.

Effete: affected, overrefined, and ineffectual; see “Chris Hayes.”  OK, I appended the name of the MSNBC host to the dictionary definition.  But if ever you wanted to see the human embodiment of the adjective in action, have a look at the video from his MSNBC show this morning of the too-refined-by-half Hayes explaining why he is “uncomfortable” in calling America’s fallen military members “heroes.”

Hayes is worried that doing so is “rhetorically proximate” to justifications for more war.  Oh, the rhetorical proximity!

Here is the transcript of Hayes babbling his way to rhetorical proximity intellectual bankruptcy

CHRIS HAYES: Thinking today and observing Memorial Day, that’ll be happening tomorrow.  Just talked with Lt. Col. Steve Burke [sic, actually Beck], who was a casualty officer with the Marines and had to tell people [inaudible].  Um, I, I, ah, back sorry, um, I think it’s interesting because I think it is very difficult to talk about the war dead and the fallen without invoking valor, without invoking the words “heroes.” Um, and, ah, ah, why do I feel so comfortable [sic] about the word “hero”?  I feel comfortable, ah, uncomfortable, about the word because it seems to me that it is so rhetorically proximate to justifications for more war. Um, and, I don’t want to obviously desecrate or disrespect memory of anyone that’s fallen, and obviously there are individual circumstances in which there is genuine, tremendous heroism: hail of gunfire, rescuing fellow soldiers and things like that. But it seems to me that we marshal this word in a way that is problematic. But maybe I’m wrong about that.

Good Grief! Could there be a better example of educated beyond tour hat size than this buffoon? Education without any wisdom is worthless.

Nannychusetts! Via Pat Dollard

Boston Herald: Bake sales, the calorie-laden standby cash-strapped classrooms, PTAs and booster clubs rely on, will be outlawed from public schools as of Aug. 1 as part of new no-nonsense nutrition standards, forcing fundraisers back to the blackboard to cook up alternative ways to raise money for kids.

At a minimum, the nosh clampdown targets so-called “competitive” foods — those sold or served during the school day in hallways, cafeterias, stores and vending machines outside the regular lunch program, including bake sales, holiday parties and treats dished out to reward academic achievement. But state officials are pushing schools to expand the ban 24/7 to include evening, weekend and community events such as banquets, door-to-door candy sales and football games. The Departments of Public Health and Education contend clearing tables of even whole milk and white bread is necessary to combat an obesity epidemic affecting a third of the state’s 1.5 million students. But parents argue crudites won’t cut it when the bills come due on athletic equipment and band trips.

“If you want to make a quick $250, you hold a bake sale,” said Sandy Malec, vice president of the Horace Mann Elementary School PTO in Newtonville.

Maura Dawley of Scituate said the candy bars her 15-year-old son brought to school to help pay for a youth group trip to Guatemala “sold like wildfire.” She worries the ban “would seriously affect the bottom line of the PTOs.

Milton Wolf adds his take

Well, it’s about time. If we can’t be trusted to buy our health insurance, or car or even light bulb, then we certainly can’t be trusted to sell each other brownies to raise money for the local PTA. Thank goodness our beneficent government is willing to decide what we should eat.

That IS what the Nanny Staters want folks, never forget it!

Indoctrination sucks

30 Apr

One day I am going to post a list of my steadfast rules of life. On that list, will be Indoctrination Sucks. Note, I do not mind education, I certainly do not mind having anyone taught different ideas. I, in other words, welcome education, but indoctrination is the nemesis of education. Indoctrination seeks to prevent thinking, and you need look no further than this video via American Power, for proof of how deplorable, and dangerous indoctrination is.

There really is nothing to add is there? Except to be sure that this young mind is being taught this at SCHOOL! On our dime!

I am reminded of a chat I had about four years ago. I vacation in Estes park, Colorado every September. I love hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park, a place I fell in love with in 2001, and Estes Park borders the park.

In 2008, I decided to take a tour, via a six-wheeler, into the back country. The woman who drove us talked about the history, the wildlife, etc. She explained during the tour that the elk, which are plentiful in the area, were actually brought in, decades ago from another area of the West, California I think it was. She explained further that this was made necessary because the elf population was wiped out in the area by evil man. Now, I agree that it was tragic, and criminal frankly, that people did such a thing. What did strike me as odd, however, was that she never gave any credit to the people who FIXED the problem, by re-introducing elk to the area.

She was perfectly willing to paint people as bad, but very loathe to credit those that repaired, as best they could, the damage. Odd that Liberals are often that way isn’t it? Which, I think, proves another great rule of life I have, Liberalism is an ideology of pessimism. But that is another post!

Newest mascot to be banned?

Cougars is now sexist!

One Utah school district believes a cougar mascot would be insensitive to women.

English: North Amerian Cougar

Image via Wikipedia

The Canyons School District overrode the students top choice of a cougar mascot for their high school that is to be completed in 2013.

Would-be Corner Canyon High School students chose the Cougars as their mascot — a name principal Mary Bailey said carries an ugly connotation that is disrespectful to women.

In popular culture, the cougar is a sexually aggressive middle-aged woman who attracts younger men.

The school board, which consists of six men and one woman, thought the Charger would be more appropriate, which was on the ballot but failed to appeal to students as the cougar had.

Good Grief! Where does the madness end? It ends when we either reject this nonsense, or it ends with our liberty completely destroyed!

Maybe these morons should be locked in a cage with a rabid cougar.

I love this quote

Red diaper rash ranters are marching on Wall Street and squalling for free stuff.  Among their list of demands is “free college education.”
Graduates from prestigious universities with advanced degrees in Lesbian Dance and Ethnic Studies are shocked and outraged to find they are unemployable.  And they want you and I to pay off their substantial and ill-considered student loans.
They should be marching on the colleges and universities that screwed them.  They should be occupying the offices of the counselors who steered them away from math and science and instead put them on the path that leads to angry activism, unemployment lines and the crash of unwarranted self-esteem.

The difference between education and indoctrination

17 Oct

Anyone who listens to the Left knows how they value “education”. they love public schools, and mandatory kindergarten, and how they would love to make K-4, K-3, etc. mandatory as well. Why? well, there is more than one answer you would get if you asked a Leftist why they think children benefit by more “education”. They will tell you it is critical for socialization, and development, and yes, “education” of course.

Now, you will note that I have placed the word education, in parenthesis. Why? Well, because the Left defines education, or at least what the goal of education quite differently than most folks do. To most of us math, writing, vocabulary, history, science, and civics are among the things schools should teach children. Most of us would also include teaching some type of sex education, as long as the curriculum is age appropriate, and as long as it does not teach values, that ought to be taught by parents, and not by schools.

The Left, however, prefers using education to indoctrinate, rather than educate. And face it, think of all the indoctrination that can be done if our children are in public education from age 2, until, say 22, if you include college. And think about this. It is the Left that is pushing to make a college education, “free” isn’t it? Twenty years are a long time isn’t it? Think of how much education indoctrination can take place in those two decades. Think of a person, age 22. Think of that person, if they have been “educated by the State, through public education. It is likely that their attitudes towards politics, religion, sex, relationships, Western culture, American history, etc. will closely resemble the Left’s ideology. After all, it is the Left that has a vested interest in  forcing every child to go through those two decades of “education”.

Now I am sure that many reading the preceding thoughts will scoff, and say these assertions are inane, and misguided. For those, I offer an example via Donald Douglas

This was in the news when the legislature authorized teaching homosexual studies some time back.

And now at LAT, California schools scrambling to add lessons on LGBT Americans.”

If this were being introduced when kids are in, say, 5th or 6th grade, I personally wouldn’t have an issue with it for my own kids. But as it is, kindergarten or 1st grade, and so on? God, that’s almost obscene in its assumptions. It’s understandable why parents would object. I recently asked my 10-year-old if he knew what homosexuality was. He didn’t have a clue, so I explained it to him. He didn’t seem to care that much about it, but the point is I’d prefer it was my wife and I talking about these things with him, especially in the moral context. I would not teach my child that all family structures are equal, for example. My position is that the traditional household with one father and one mother is the most healthy and prosperous for children. Schools will teach kids that all alternative family arrangements are equally valid, and that’s a radical curriculum.

In any case, from the article:

At Wonderland Avenue Elementary School in Laurel Canyon, there are lesson plans on diverse families — including those with two mommies or daddies — books on homosexual authors in the library and a principal who is openly gay.

But even at this school, teachers and administrators are flummoxed about how to carry out a new law requiring California public schools to teach all students — from kindergartners to 12th graders — about lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Americans in history classes.

“At this point, I wouldn’t even know where to begin,” Principal Don Wilson said.

Educators across the state don’t have much time to figure it out. In January, they’re expected to begin teaching about LGBT Americans under California’s landmark law, the first of its kind in the nation.

The law has sparked confusion about what, exactly, is supposed to be taught. Will fourth-graders learn that some of the Gold Rush miners were gay and helped build San Francisco? Will students be taught about the “two-spirited people” tradition among some Native Americans, as one gay historian mused?

“I’m not sure how we plug it into the curriculum at the grade school level, if at all,” said Paul Boneberg, executive director at the GLBT Historical Society in San Francisco.

School districts will have little help in navigating this sensitive and controversial change, which has already prompted some parents to pull their children out of public schools.

Really? Teaching kids that young about Lesbian Gay Bisexual Trans-gender people in history? What legitimate purpose is served by this? Certainly, any significant historical figure ought to be included in history, but any teaching about GLBT ought not to be pushed on to small children. Two words age appropriate.

Think of it like this. I have studied the War Between the States for decades now, I started studying it at the age of nine, so, 37 years. I give historical talks, and presentations on battles, leaders, etc. But, I would certainly not delve into the orientation of, say Jefferson Davis, or U.S. Grant unless that were of some particular importance. And I would not talk about that to very small children. Again AGE APPROPRIATE!

The valid purpose of education, is enlightenment, not indoctrination. This is why I give historical talks in a different manner than when I engage in debates on the war. My goal is to educate, to give facts, and let the listener develop their own opinion. The Left, on the other hand wishes to shape opinions, they wish to indoctrinate. They wish to “educate” to further their agenda, and thinkers are the last thing they wish to turn out of school. And make no mistake, history, is their favorite target.

For all their talk of open-mindedness, and education, and tolerance, the Left believes in none of those ideals. The Left realizes that educated, open-minded people will never embrace Marxism, in any form. Indoctrinated, closed-minded people though, well…………..

Hey kids, it is time for the Daley Douchebag

And today it is David Duke, a true piece of trash. In this video, Duke calls Israel a terrorist state. I really wish Mr. Duke could actually be introduced to some actual terrorists, he would be begging for Israel to come help him.

Funny, David Duke actually sounds a lot like Jihadis do

Recently, we had Ahmed Ezz El-Arab, who said that the Holocaust was a lie and that the U.S. is responsible for 9/11.

Now, to add to our list of “Egyptian Leaders Behaving Badly,” we have Egyptian Shaykh Safwat Hegazy who can be seen, below, threatening Jews, Christians and the entire human race. According to Translating Jihad (TJ), he says:

“Jerusalem belongs to us, and the whole world belongs to us.” He states the Islamic caliphate will return, and that “every land upon which Islam has set foot will return to us.” He makes poignant references to Qurayza and Khaybar, which are clear threats against the Jews, and also states, “we will kill anyone who has polluted the al-Aqsa Mosque.”

Importantly, TJ explains that Hegazy is not an unknown figure who is randomly spouting hate; he’s influential:

It is important to note that Hegazy is not some kooky, fringe shaykh with no following. He is a member of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, and has been involved with several satellite television shows, including his show “Age of Glory” on the al-Nastelevision network…

This bad! Via The Blogprof Good Grief: Teens Banned From High School Graduation for Wearing Military Sash

Banned for acknowledging God, now banned for wearing a military sash:

Pretty soon, the only way you will be allowed to got up on stage for graduation by the liberal elitist overlords will be to wear a tinfoil hat and a rainbow flag. Reports the AP:

Jordan Marker and Joel Hunsicker had long looked forward to their graduation from Schuylkill Valley High School. But as their classmates received their diplomas Wednesday night, Marker and Hunsicker watched from the bleachers at the high school stadium. They said school administrators gave them an ultimatum: take off the black and gold sashes their Army recruiters gave them to symbolize their pending service or don’t walk at graduation.

This is a classic story to referrence if you wish to point out how way too much power has been given over to nanny statists! Every day we get closer to having every choice in our life dictated to us.

Our society as a whole is getting more and more intrusive, as this story clearly illustrates

ROSEVILLE, Calif. (CBS13) – An elementary school has drawn criticism for asking intimate questions about how its students were delivered during birth on its application form.

The enrollment application for the Dry Creek School District asks a number of detailed medical questions about prospective students, but the question that asks whether the child was birthed by “vaginal delivery” or “C-Section” caught parents’ attention.

For the C-Section option, the application asks for the parent to explain why the procedure was performed.

“I really don’t feel think the school asking if the child was delivered vaginally or by C-Section is appropriate,” said Heather, a mother of two.

Simply unacceptable

OK, why didn’t they have THESE field trips when I was in 8th grade?

I feel cheated that during my junior high days, I never got to take a field trip to Hooters!

Somehow this made news, which seems a bit odd since no parents have complained. I doubt any of the boys did either.

For one group of Berwick School District eighth-graders, a recent field trip to Baltimore included lunch at Hooters — a restaurant better known for its busty waitresses than its food.

The Berwick Middle School students were visiting the National Aquarium last week. Chaperones took them to various restaurants for lunch because the group of 100 was too large for a single place.

One group of 15 to 20 students reportedly ended up at Hooters.

Superintendent Wayne Brookhart says that while he wishes the group’s coed chaperones had chosen another restaurant, he has not received any complaints from parents.
