IRS Employee Suspended For Urging Customer Service Help Line Callers To Vote For Obama

IRS Worker Suspended For Pro-Obama Activities – Washington Times

An IRS employee was suspended for 100 days for using his job at the agency’s help line to try to convince callers to vote for President Obama, a government watchdog agency announced Thursday.

.
…………

.
The employee, whose name wasn’t mentioned in the announcement from the Office of Special Counsel, admitted to using his job for political purposes and agreed to the settlement that involved a 100-day suspension.

“OSC’s complaint alleged that, when fielding taxpayers’ questions on an IRS customer service help line, the employee repeatedly urged taxpayers to re-elect President Obama in 2012 by delivering a chant based on the spelling of the employee’s last name,” the investigative office said.

The OSC also announced a U.S. Postal Service employee was fired after he ran for seats in Congress and solicited donations to his campaign, violating the Hatch Act that limits government employees’ ability to get involved in politics.

That man, Marcus Lewis, ran despite being warned against it by the OSC, leading to a series of personnel hearings that resulted in the Merit Systems Protection Board demanding he be fired.

The judgment against the IRS employee, meanwhile, was the third instance where the tax agency has run afoul of the Hatch Act in recent months.

The OSC announced in May that the Dallas office of the IRS had to be warned after complaints that it was “commonplace” to have pro-Obama screensavers on computers, and to have campaign-style buttons and stickers at the office.

And an IRS employee in Kentucky served a 14-day suspension for blasting Republicans in a telephone conversation with a taxpayer.

IRS To Impose $36,500 Tax Per Employee On Businesses That Dump Workers Into Obamacare Exchanges

IRS: Employers Face $36,500 Per Worker Tax For ‘Obamacare Dumping’ – Big Government

The Internal Revenue Service ruled it will impose a tax penalty on employers of up to $36,500 per worker for dumping employees into the Obamacare exchanges.

.

.
The New York Times, which broke the story, reports:

When employers provide coverage, their contributions, averaging more than $5,000 a year per employee, are not counted as taxable income to workers. But the Internal Revenue Service said employers could not meet their obligations under the health care law by simply reimbursing employees for some or all of their premium costs.

The IRS ruling is an effort by the Obama administration to stop employers with 50 or more workers from doing what critics of the health law said they would do: pay a penalty for not providing insurance and dump workers into the unpopular Obamacare program.

With the Nov. 4 midterm elections looming, the Obama administration could not allow massive waves of employer cancellations before Democrats face an already angry electorate. So the IRS ruled it would slap any employer with a $100 tax penalty per day per worker that used tax-exempt health insurance monies to cut workers a lump check and dump them on the Obamacare exchanges.

The new IRS rule comes on the heels of the Obama administration’s announcement that it will bail out insurers which participate in the Obamacare program which lose cash. As the Times notes, “Administration officials hope the payments will stabilize premiums and prevent rate increases that could embarrass Democrats in this year’s midterm elections.”

Obama EPA Toady Admits To Doing Nothing About Employee Watching Porn At The Office (Video)

What An EPA Employee Allegedly Confessed To Doing On His Gov’t Computer At Work Is Bound To Raise Some Eyebrows – The Blaze

A senior official at the Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Inspector General testified Wednesday that a career EPA official stored thousands of pornographic files on his government computer, and has admitted to watching porn a lot while at work, sometimes for most of his day.

“When an OIG special agent arrived at this employee’s work space to conduct an interview, the special agent witnessed the employee actively viewing pornography on his government-issued computer,” Allan Williams, deputy assistant inspector general for Investigations told the House Oversight & Government Reform Committee.

.

.
“Subsequently, the employee confessed to spending, on average, between two and six hours per day viewing pornography while at work.”

Williams said the Department of Justice has accepted the OIG’s request to prosecute this official, who Williams did not name because of this ongoing action.

Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) took Perciasepe to task for failing to take any steps to fire the porn-watching official.

Chaffetz asked how long the porn viewing has been going on, and Perciasepe said he didn’t know. Chaffetz indicated his understanding was that it has been happening since 2010, and fired at Perciasepe, “How can I know and you don’t?”

.

.
Chaffetz then asked why the official hasn’t been fired. “Fire him! What’s the question?”

Perciasepe said he was waiting for the OIG’s final report on the employee. Chaffetz then asked what Perciasepe is doing about the situation now, to which Perciasepe said he was doing nothing.

“That’s the problem!” Chaffetz shouted.

Williams offered several other examples of waste and fraud at the EPA, including one senior EPA official who helped John Beale defraud EPA of hundreds of thousands of dollars. Beale said for years that he worked for the CIA, and used that excuse to miss work and get $180,000 in travel vouchers approved.

Williams said the senior EPA official who approved these expenditures didn’t conduct the due diligence necessary. Williams said another EPA manager is involved in letting another EPA official not report to work for years, at a cost of $500,000.

The hearing was held by the Committee on the same day that the OIG office at EPA released a report saying that EPA’s Office of Homeland Security is impeding OIG’s investigations. Like other Inspector General offices, the EPA’s is technically a part of the agency, but is supposed to operate independently in order to root out fraud and waste.

But Patrick Sullivan, an assistant inspector general at OIG, said EPA is actively thwarting his office’s investigations.

“I am very concerned that vital information regarding suspected employee and contractor misconduct is being withheld from the OIG,” Sullivan said.

“Because OHS continues to block my office’s access to information essential to the OIG’s work, I cannot assure the committee that we are doing everything possible to root out other ‘John Beales’ who may be at the EPA or other malfeasance of similar magnitude.”

Specifically, the OIG office says EPA’s Homeland Security wing is not sharing information about possible employee misconduct, and is blocking OIG’s computer investigations.

Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) said EPA officials impeded the John Beale investigation, and warned that they must stay out of OIG’s way.

Despite these charges, Deputy EPA Administrator Bob Perciasepe said the EPA is doing all it can to help eliminate waste and fraud from the agency. “I want to begin by assuring the Committee that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) shares the goal of the Committee and of the Office of the Inspector General of preventing and correcting any waste, fraud or abuse in any agency programs or operations,” he told the Committee.

But Republicans got him to admit that no one has been fired recently for misconduct; Perciasepe said he would get data to the Committee shortly on termination decisions over the last five years.

“Where and when to people actually get fired?” Chaffetz asked.

Concordia University Public Safety Director Arrested For Masturbating In Female Employee’s Shoe

Lutheran College Safety Director Arrested, Fired For Masturbating In Female Employee’s Shoe – Daily Caller

The director of public safety at Concordia University Chicago has been charged with two misdemeanors because, police say, he masturbated into a shoe belonging to a female employee of the school.

.

.
The alleged masturbator is Tim Margis, reports Oak Leaves, a local suburban newspaper.

Police say the incident occurred on Feb. 10 at approximately 9:30 p.m. somewhere on the campus of the private Lutheran school.

The unidentified female employee saw Margis, 38, leaving her office. He was buttoning up his pants, she said. He was fastening his belt.

The woman told police she asked Margis why he was in her office. He explained that he was merely checking things out because the door had been left ajar.

Later, the woman claimed, she found a mysterious “clear liquid” on the inside of one of the shoes she had left in the office.

Two days later, on Feb. 12, police detectives interviewed Margis at his home and, they say, he confessed to entering the employee’s office and leaving the “clear liquid” there.

Margis faces two charges: public indecency and disorderly conduct. Both are misdemeanors.

He is also out of a job. On Feb. 12, school officials suspended Margis and banned him from campus.

“We cooperated fully with the investigation and he was terminated on Feb. 13 for misconduct, less than 24 hours later,” Concordia spokesman Eric Matanyi told Oak Leaves.

Concordia University Chicago isn’t actually in Chicago. It’s in River Forest, a suburb one suburb over from Chicago that is filled with huge old mansions and the occasional Frank Lloyd Wright house (or Frank Lloyd Wright knockoff).

The highly religious school is affiliated with The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. The campus is dry. Students and faculty members are encouraged to attend a short chapel service each weekday.

On its website, Concordia describes itself as focused on the gospel of Jesus Christ. “The life of Christ is lived-out [sic] in countless ways at Concordia: from the classroom, to the dorm room, to the practice field, to the concert hall, our students are being formed to lead and serve with ‘integrity, creativity, competence and compassion’-all in His name.”

Employer Accidentally ‘Butt-Dials’ Former Employee He Was Planning To Kill While Meeting With Hitman

‘Butt-Dial’ Reveals Murder Plot To Intended Victim – Arkansas Matters

The owner of a used car dealership has been arrested after an accidental phone call to a former employee revealed his plot to kill him.

.

According to a report from KAIT, 68-year-old Larry Barnett, of Jonesboro, accidentally called the same former employee he was plotting to kill, while he was plotting to kill him.

Jonesboro police told KAIT that Barnett, the owner of Legend Motor Company on South Stadium Boulevard, accidentally called his employee while telling a hired killer personal information about him, including his address.

But he didn’t stop there, as he continued to describe how and why he wanted it done.

In the probable cause affidavit, Barnett told the alleged hit man, “I don’t care if you have to burn his house to the ground with him in it,” and to, “make it look like an accident,” according to the article. The intended target also reportedly heard Barnett discussing a previous attempt to murder him, but, “they couldn’t get the job done.”

Barnett also reportedly told the would-be hired killer, “I owe the little son of a ***** a bunch of money and if he’s gone, I don’t have to pay for it,” according to the article, and that he would pay the hit man $5,000 up front and “the remainder when the job was done.”

KAIT cites court documents stating that the intended target of the murder plot went to the police department to file a report, and when he returned home, police say it had been burglarized and his gas stove had been tampered with.

Barnett admitted to police that he accidentally called the former employee and discussed his phone number and address with the other man involved in the conversation.

“I’ve been here now for 25 years and I’ve never recalled a time when a subject has accidentally, if you will, ‘butt-dialed’ someone they’re either trying to commit a crime against or the possible victim of the crime,” Jonesboro Police Sergeant Doug Formon told KAIT.

Barnett’s temporary bond was set at $1 million, however in court Monday, it was lowered to $50,000.

“We Are Going To Have To Kill A Lot Of Whites”: DHS Employee Who Buys Guns For ICE Runs Racist Website

“We Are Going To Have To Kill A Lot Of Whites”… DHS Employee Preparing For A Race War; Also Buys Guns For ICE – Right Scoop

So does the Obama administration not do background checks anymore? Or is this the kind of person they hire? Either way, the answer is bad for America:

.

BREITBART NEWS – Ayo Kimathi, a Department of Homeland Security employee tasked with buying guns and ammo for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, runs a racist, homophobic website called “War is on the Horizon.” He calls himself the “Irritated Genie.” The site required approval from DHS, but Kimathi did not. His former supervisor told the Southern Poverty Law Center that she was “stunned” by the site. “To see the hate, to know that he is a federal employee, it bothered me,” she said. DHS signed off on the site based on Kimathi’s description, but apparently did not bother to check the site.

.
..

Kimathi’s site calls President Obama a “treasonous mulatto scum dweller,” and an enemy of the black supremacist movement, along with Oprah, Whoopi Goldberg, and Condoleezza Rice. The site says, “warfare is eminent, and in order for Black people to survive the 21st century, we are going to have to kill a lot of whites – more than our christian hearts can possibly count.” Kimathi also says that whites are attempting to “homosexualize” black men to somehow make them weaker, and therefore easier pickings for racism. He also offers helpful hints on how “Black women in the world [can] understand what she needs to do to keep a strong Black man happy.”

IRS Employee Union Trying To Weasel Its Way Out Of Obamacare

IRS Employee Union: We Don’t Want Obamacare – Washington Examiner

IRS employees have a prominent role in Obamacare, but their union wants no part of the law.

.

National Treasury Employees Union officials are urging members to write their congressional representatives in opposition to receiving coverage through President Obama’s health care law.

The union leaders are providing members with a form letter to send to the congressmen that says “I am very concerned about legislation that has been introduced by Congressman Dave Camp to push federal employees out of the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program and into the insurance exchanges established under the Affordable Care Act.”

The NTEU represents 150,000 federal employees overall, including most of the nearly 100,000 IRS workers.

Like most other federal workers, IRS employees currently get their health insurance through the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program, which also covers members of Congress.

House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp offered the bill in response to reports of congressional negotiations that would exempt lawmakers and their staff from Obamacare.

“Camp has long believed every American ought to be exempt from the law, which is why he supports full repeal,” Camp spokeswoman Allie Walkersaid.

“If the Obamacare exchanges are good enough for the hardworking Americans and small businesses the law claims to help, then they should be good enough for the president, vice president, Congress and federal employees,” she also said.

“The NTEU represents Internal Revenue Service employees who have the responsibility to enforce much of the health insurance law, especially in terms of collecting the taxes and distributing subsidies that finance the whole system,” said Paul Kersey, director of Labor Policy at the Illinois Policy Institute.

“IRS agents will also collect data and apply penalties for those who fail to comply with many of Obamacare’s requirements,” Kersey said.
