A mixture of ignorant fools who have no clue about what is really going on over there. These people have swallowed the Kool-Aid Hamas sells. Israel blocks no legitimate aid to Gaza, only weapons that they know will be used against Israel for example. And a mix of pro-terrorist scum as well. The most fascinating thing I keep hearing is that the fight is unfair because Israel has far better weapons or because the rockets Hamas fires are not really dangerous. I would like to ask these people if they would be OK with Israel defending itself if it used the same weapons as Hamas does. Their heads might explode if they actually had to think about that one.

This war is as morally clear as wars get. Hamas is a terrorist organization dedicated to annihilating the Jewish state. It runs a theocratic totalitarian state in Gaza, with no individual liberty, and no freedom of speech or press. In a nutshell, Hamas is a violent, fascistic organization.

Israel, meanwhile, is one the world’s most humane states — not to mention a democracy that is so tolerant that Arab members of its parliament are free to express admiration for Hamas.

Over the past decade, Hamas had launched thousands of rockets into Israel with one aim: to kill and maim as many Israeli citizens as possible — Israelis at work, at play, asleep in their homes, in their cars. Finally, Israel responded by killing Ahmed al-Jabari, the chief organizer of Hamas’s violence — the Hamas “military commander” as he was known among Palestinians.

The next day, three more Israelis were killed by rockets.

Then Hamas targeted Tel Aviv, Israel’s most densely populated region, and Israel shelled Hamas rocket-launching sites.

In other words, an evil entity made war on a peaceful, decent entity, and the latter responded.

How has the New York Times reported this?

On Friday, on its front page, the Times featured two three-column-wide photos. The top one was of Gaza Muslim mourners alongside the dead body of al-Jabari. The photo below was of Israeli Jews mourning alongside the dead body of Mira Scharf, a 27-year-old mother of three.

What a shocker! Rachel Maddow forgets what started current Israel/Hama war

MADDOW (after referring to President Obama’s visit to Cambodia, Thailand and Myanmar):  And of course the whole trip to Asia comes in the midst of a very scary flareup between Israel and Gaza. Now, we do not know exactly what started this most recent round of fighting, but we do know that an Israeli air strike killed the top commander of Hamas in Gaza on Wednesday. And we know then that that was followed by rocket attacks aimed at southern Israel and then Tel Aviv and then today, Jerusalem. Israel has been pounding Gaza with air strikes. The attacks appeared today to be rapidly escalating, including signs that Israel is preparing for a ground incursion into Gaza. The New York Times tonight citing reports of Israeli tanks massing on the border with Gaza.

Gee, if only Israel hadn’t inexplicably killed that poor misunderstood Hamas commander. Conspicuously absent from Maddow’s narrative is any mention of Israel’s rationale for the attack — Hamas targeting Israel with hundreds of rocket attacks from Gaza, as they’ve been doing every year for the last decade. Indiscriminate savagery that does not distinguish between military and civilian targets, in marked contrast to Israel’s response, which was to kill one of Hamas’s leading terrorists.

Remember this, Maddow is NOT stupid, she knows as well as anyone about those rockets fired at Israel necessitated Israel’s defending itself. She KNOWS! Yet, she chooses to spread terrorist propaganda? What would that make Maddow?

 

IDF hits home of Hamas chief rocket launcher

The IAF hit the home of Ihya Abia, Hamas’s chief rocket launching unit on Sunday. Abia, a senior Hamas official was killed. He was responsible for the majority of rockets fired at Israel in the past days.

Remember: This started last week when Hamas fired more than 100 missiles into Israel. To call Israel’s response an “act of aggression by the Israelis” is simply a lie, the exact opposite of truth. Why does the New York Times feel obligated to publish Iran’s lies? I dunno.

Jabari, who is the most senior Hamas official to be killed since an Israeli invasion of Gaza four years ago, was killed in an air strike on a vehicle, in a dramatic resumption of Israel’s policy of assassinating Palestinian militant leaders.
Jabari has long topped Israel’s most-wanted list, the Associated Press reported, and was blamed for in a string of attacks, including the kidnapping of Israeli soldier Gilad Schalit in 2006.
His son was also reportedly killed in the targeted air strike, according to Osama Hamdan, a Hamas representative in Lebanon . . .

IDF Spokesman Brig.-Gen. Yoav Mordechai confirmed that the strike was “part of our goal, to land serious blows on Hamas and other organizations. Jabari is the first target… We’ve only just started, and this isn’t the end of it. All of the options are open, and we will persist in our determination to continue to hit all of the [terror] organizations further down the line.”

Mordechai said that the IDF was prepping its ground troops for a possible incursion into the Gaza Strip, but noted that such an operation was not necessarily going to happen, and that the IDF didn’t want to turn Operation Pillar of Defense into a second Cast Lead — the winter 2008-9 assault on Hamas in Gaza that did include extensive ground operations.

The Muslim Brotherhood, of course, is outraged that Israel would defend itself

The Daily Star reported:

Egypt’s Islamist Freedom and Justice Party, formerly headed by President Mohamed Morsi, said on Wednesday Egypt would no longer stand by as Israel attacked Palestinians after air strikes killed a Hamas leader.

The FJP, the political arm of the powerful Muslim Brotherhood movement, said Israeli air strikes that killed top militant Ahmed al-Jaabari in Gaza earlier on Wednesday required “swift Arab and international action to stop the massacres.”

The party, which fielded Morsi in a June election to replace toppled president Hosni Mubarak, said Israel “must take into account the changes in the Arab region and especially Egypt.”

Egypt “will not allow the Palestinians to be subjected to Israeli aggression, as in the past,” the party statement said.

Mubarak, overthrown in early 2011, was criticised by his opponents for his response to an Israeli invasion of Gaza in 2008-2009 following rocket fire by Palestinian militan

Two things here. First Israel is not going to be cowed by these terrorists, Israel can handle anything Egypt has militarily. Second, Egypt’s new leaders feel emboldened no doubt by the re-election of Obama, who has shown he is not Israel’s friend. Elections do have consequences, and this is one of those.

OSLO – Scandinavian activist groups are launching an aid ship destined for Gaza on Tuesday, hoping to challenge the Israeli blockade and draw international attention to the conflict in a move reminiscent of the 2010 “Freedom Flotilla”, organizers said.

“We have the same goal as the previous flotillas, to put an end to the blockade of Gaza by challenging the Israeli navy,” said Torstein Dahle, the leader of the Norwegian section of the activist group “Ship to Gaza”.

“This time around it will be an easy task for the Israelis to stop us because we will be so few and strictly non-violent,” Dahle told Reuters at Oslo harbour.

Of course, Israel does not prevent needed, humanitarian supplies from entering. It is the weapons they stop with the blockade. Weapons that would be used to attack Israeli civilians. I wish these sea-faring buffoons would protest the terror groups that attack Israel.

(Military.com) — A U.S. senator wants U.S. special operations forces to help Israel halt a Gaza-bound international aid flotilla that includes a vessel carrying a number of American veterans, one of whom is a Sailor who served aboard the USS Liberty, the ship that Israel infamously attacked in 1967.

In a report drafted following a visit to Israel in early June, Sen. Mark Kirk, R-Ill., says the United States should “make available all necessary special operations and naval support to the Israeli Navy to effectively disable flotilla vessels before they can pose a threat to Israeli coastal security or put Israeli lives at risk.”

Why would anyone be concerned about The Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt?

Muslim Brotherhood officials must be confident in their chances in this fall’s Egyptian parliamentary elections. David Miller of Media Line picked up an Egyptian newspaper report citing a member of the Brotherhood’s governing board calling for a squad of virtue police created to act against “those who commit immoral acts.”

Issam Durbala’s vision aims to protect public virtue and modesty with “limited authorities,” Miller reports, which means something short of Saudi Arabia’s vice police. [Note: Miller identifies Durbala as a Brotherhood official, other sourcesplace him in the Gama'a Al-Islamiya, or Islamic Group]

Moderates and secularists in Egypt are alarmed by the growing influence of religious conservatives in Egypt. They’ll have to scramble to compete in the fall elections against the larger, better organized Brotherhood. Those reformers tried to defeat constitutional amendments that called for elections sooner, rather than later, in hopes of buying time to organize.

Those amendments passed by a 3-to-1 margin last month.

Hamas, a Brotherhood offshoot, has imposed its own brand of modesty enforcement in Gaza. Girls must adhere to a religious dress code to attend school, and women have been detained for being in public with a man or for smoking in public.
