SHOCKING NEWS! Power plants in Africa do not cause climate change

At least that is what I would guess President Obama is thinking

Americans will soon freeze in the dark, thanks to Obama’s EPA’s War On Coal.

But Africa? Africa’s gonna get $7 billion of our tax dollars to electrify mud huts.

Obama used his address to unveil the “Power Africa” initiative, which includes an initial $7 billion investment from the United States over the next five years. Private companies, including General Electric and Symbion Power, are making an additional $9 billion in commitments with the goal of providing power to millions of Africans crippled by a lack of electricity.

So, I guess this means that only American energy causes climate change? And Obama calls us “flat-earthers”?

In related News, Obama also toasted a Communist dictator who ruined Tanzania’s economy

President Barack Obama toasted the founding dictator of post-colonial Tanzania on Monday, who collectivized the nation’s low-tech agricultural sector, established a one-party state and left that African nation’s economy in ruins.

“[Y]ou might say an American child is my child. We might say a Tanzanian child is my child,” Obama said after quoting the Tanzanian saying “my neighbor’s child is my child.”

“In this way, both of our nations will be looking after all of our children and we’ll be living out the vision of President [Julius] Nyerere,” Obama continued.

More Collectivist clap trap from our dear leader, but what did Nyerere do for Tanzania?

In Tanazania, Nyerere “was succeeded by the president of Zanzibar, Ali Mwinyi, who oversaw political reforms and a gradual transition to a market economy, in part due to economic collapse brought on by ujamaa and centralized economic management,” says the CRS report.

Oh I see what you did there Mr. Nyerere, you turned an industry into a collective, became a one-party state, and ruined a nation’s economy. If that sounds familiar, look no further than the man who gave the toast.

The war on American coal, energy, jobs, etc rolls on, that is Obamanomics!~

Dear Obama voters

You voted for Obama because of his “make the rich pay their fair share” line didn’t you? Well, guess what, you are a fool

So Facebook is the latest company with close ties to Barack Obama to get a multibillion-dollar tax break. You’ll recall that General Electric’s CEO and head of Obama’s “Jobs Council,” Jeffrey Immelt, managed to get a sweetheart tax deal for his corporation too. In 2010, GE earned over $14 billion and paid nothing in federal taxes. Zero. Nada. Zilch. Not a penny.

And these are just the tax breaks. The multibillion-dollar slush fund — of your money — directed to Barack’s friends and political donors in his Big Green Boondoggle is even worse.

Yep, Socialism sucks doesn’t it?

Time running out to choose the light bulb you prefer

Remember liberty?

When Republicans took back control of the House in 2010 they were able to push back the default ban on incandescent light bulbs, but it was too little too late. Soon you won’t be able to buy them.

The free market operates by offering incentives to consumers to change their behavior. Cutting prices, advertising and developing new products redirect the public’s impulses in a natural, painless way. The government, on the other hand, has no passion or patience for this sort of thing.

Words like “must,” “shall,” and “mandate” pepper the texts of laws like Obamacare. The incandescent light-bulb ban, which goes into effect in March, is another case in point. The bulbs aren’t officially banned, just artificially obsolete. As part of the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007, Congress mandated that light bulbs have 25 percent greater efficiency, phased in starting in 2012 and continuing until 2014. The law also includes a slew of mandates on appliances and energy use in federal buildings.

A 310-page masterpiece of micromanagement, the law was promoted heavily by then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, San Francisco Democrat, and signed by President George W. Bush. The bill was driven by a consortium of manufacturers that stand to profit from forcing people to buy more expensive bulbs and fixtures, plus the environmental lobby, which likes to pretend government regulations can lower the planet’s temperature.

Alarmed at the prospect of being forced by law to purchase expensive, squiggly compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs instead of cheap, warm incandescent bulbs, Americans complained loudly. In the face of a popular revolt, Congress pushed the start date back to October 2012 and defunded enforcement of efficiency standards as part of the 2012 and 2013 appropriations bills.

However, seeing the writing on the wall, manufacturers began phasing out incandescents. The last major General Electric factory that made them closed in Winchester, Va., in September 2010, putting 200 people out of work. One hundred-watt bulbs are already gone in some stores. (Read More)

This is just a small example of what happens when we elect buffoons who think they know better than us, or the free market, or the Founders.

Well, isn’t that special

Let’s see here, Boeing tries to build a plant in a right-to-work state, South Carolina, and the National Labor Relations Board raises Hell. But, G.E. a BIG Obama supporter wants to build in Alabama, another right-to-work state, and the NLRB is silent! HMMMMMMMMMM, Doug Ross smells something, fishy You know, maybe it is like Obama said, it is just math

Do the math:

1. Alabama is a wonderfully free “right-to-work” state, which simply means it prevents unions from extracting dues from workers who do not wish to join.

2. General Electric’s CEO Jeff Immelt is the poster-boy for crony capitalism, having backed Obama’s rush to socialized medicine and green energy to benefit various of its business units.

3. It turns out that GE’s Aviation division is breaking ground on a new factory in Alabama. And, unlike Boeing, which tried to build a factory in a right-to-work-state, the National Labor Relations Board hasn’t uttered a peep. But I’m sure that’s just a coincidence.

Darn those coincidences! Doug Ross also notes the difference in right-to-work states versus states that force workers to pay union ransoms, I mean dues. So much for unions being pro-workers

The Lonely Conservative and Wyblog are also all over this

First there was ObamaCare, then came ObamaCare waivers….

And now? EPA regulation waivers, but, of course they are not for just any old corporation. Oh no~! These waivers are only for the “more equal” companies it seems

At this point we are up to over 700 Obamacare waivers given to his union pals and other campaign donors and now the EPA has announced the first waiver for the new greenhouse gas rules that really haven’t even been implemented exactly yet.

Timothy Carney reports that General Electric has been the lucky, lucky recipient of a waiver for Obama’s EPA rules. Yes, very lucky, indeed.

This particular waiver was for a 600-megawatt power plant project in the San Joaquin Valley in California being built by General Electric. The project would have been nearly killed by the EPA’s new rules so the Obama administration decided to allow this project to be “grandfathered in” to the new greenhouse gases and air pollution restrictions.

Now, can we recall just who Obama made a part of his administration? Why, yes, it is General Electric CEO Jeffrey Immelt. Only but a few weeks ago Immelt was appointed as Obama’s “jobs creation czar.”

With this announcement and the revealed monumental number of Obamacare waivers already given, one wonders if a whole slew of EPA waiver will be soon to come from Obama for his buddies and their businesses?

In any case, once again we see a close Obama associate suddenly finding all sorts of waivers coming his way so that his businesses can get out from under Obama’s ruinous, economy-killing regulations. Seems like Obama is picking and choosing which businesses live and which ones die with these beneficent rules waivers, doesn’t it?

Hope and Change? Transparency? NOPE! Just another corrupt presidential administration. Odd isn’t it? ObamCare and these EPA regs are so damned wonderful, yet, the president is allowing companies, unions, and supporters to escape the “wonderful” consequences of his “wonderful” ideals. HMMMMMMMMMMMM

OH NO! Billionaire windbag does not have enough hot air to drive his wind power plan

So, what now T. Boone Pickens?

FAIL: Billionaire T. Boone Pickens Wind Power Plan Runs Out of Air. (via Bluegrass Pundit)

After wasting $2 billion on General Electric wind turbines, Mr. Pickens has given up on his wind farm plans. He is looking to sell the turbines to Canadians who are being forced to buy them because of their laws.

Unfortunately market forces were not favorable to Mr. Pickens, and in December 2010 he announced that he is getting out of the wind power business. What does he plan to do with his $2 billion worth of idle wind turbines? He is trying to sell them to Canada, because of Canadian law that mandates consumers to buy more renewable electricity regardless of cost.”

Pickens exemplifies the difference between being pro-business and pro-market. Well, his business, not yours. In fact, here lies a great example of why the little guy needs the free market but the billionaire can skate above it. Pickens is a good man with noble intentions but we all know where those paved streets lead. Rather than putting his trust in the market (i.e., his trust in the American people), Pickens used $80 million of his own money to influence government to force the average American to buy into wind energy (in the form of taxes and federal spending).
