Liberalism is an ideology of convenience

Liberals have no problem with being outraged over certain things, like the influence of big money in politics, unless of course that big money comes from a George Soros. In short, their outrage is only displayed when it is convenient. Lisa Graves is a great example of the two-faced nature of Liberals. Stacy McCain sums her up pretty well

Lisa Graves is a Democrat Party hack who apparently believes it should be illegal to be a conservative, and who thinks that cooperation between conservatives is therefore a criminal conspiracy. Graves used to work for Democrat Sen. Patrick Leahy and the ACLU, but since 2009 has worked for the Center for Media and Democracy (CMD), a left-wing Wisconsin outfit whose funders include George Soros:

The website http://www.Banksterusa.org, for example, claims it wants “to be your go-to site for updates on the financial services re-regulation fight in Congress and for progressive net-roots campaigning against the big boys on Wall Street.” . . .
BanksterUSA.org is “part of the Center for Media and Democracy,” funded to the tune of $200,000 by the Open Society Institute, the charity arm of lefty investor George Soros.

In short big money is bad if it benefits Republicans, but good if it benefits Communists, or political prostitutes like Lisa Graves. McCain goes on to expose the hypocrisy of Graves

While taking money from Soros — a billionaire international financier — Graves and the CMD claim that money is a corrupting influence in politics if that money goes to conservatives: The Wisconsin Club for Growth is “at the center of a tangled web of dark money“!

This bizarre paranoid nonsense is all part of a dishonest smear against supporters of Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, who defeated a well-funded recall attempt by Democrats and their Big Labor allies in 2012.

In short, these goons see Walker as a credible threat to win in 2016, so they are launching preemptive strikes against him. I hope the GOP establishment takes note of my first rule of winning elections. Democrats ALWAYS attack candidates they fear, even if they are just likely candidates. Note, the Left never attacked McCain in 2008, or Romney in 2012 because they WANTED to run against them. After these men won the GOP nominations, THEN the attacks came.

George Soros loves him some Chris Christie

Christie giving the obligatory “The GOP left me” speech just got a tad closer

TRENTON — Gov. Chris Christie is cashing in donations from top Democratic fundraisers and other traditionally liberal donors across the country, even nabbing the support of a handful of rainmakers aligned with President Obama and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, a Star-Ledger review of state and federal records shows.

The checks are flying into the Republican governor’s war chest from all sorts of unlikely places — the hedge fund run by liberal billionaire George Soros, for example, and the politically progressive halls of the University of California, Berkeley.

Does Stacy McCain mean the silence is weird, or the media is weird?

Or maybe he means the obvious, George Soros, and anything he touches is weird, and corrupt

The Free Beacon’s Matthew Continetti observes how little attention was paid to the recent meeting of the Democracy Alliance, a left-wing fundraising network backed by billionaire George Soros:

More likely the media simply ignore data that complicate their preferred narrative. When it comes to the fraught relationship between money and politics, that narrative is as follows: Money in politics is corrupting only because rich businessmen trade campaign donations to Republicans for low taxes and fewer environmental regulations.

Continetti points out a little-noted development:

Earlier this year the Democracy Alliance scraped away groups that were not affixed like barnacles to the hull of the Democratic Party and left alone the groups that were.

The media is loath to dig in and actually investigate stories like this. If the question is why, just consider one word as the answer IDEOLOGY! Certainly the media has no qualms about looking into the connection between Republicans and rich people while totally ignoring all the rich Democrats. And make no mistake, the media bias factor IS a big advantage. Yes new media has made inroads, but the gap is still very significant. This, naturally explains why the left has always been eager to apply “fairness” to talk radio, and to marginalize blogs. they are not looking to compete, they are looking for one party, one ideology rule!

Brett Kimberlin being bankrolled by his wealthy aunt? UPDATED! Did Erick Erickson get swatted?

Stacy McCain is all over it

FROM AN UNDISCLOSED LOCATION
Convicted felon Brett Kimberlin is the nephew of a wealthy Maryland woman who has contributed to a foundation that helped fund a 501(c)3 organization of which Kimberlin is the director. Kimberlin’s activities have recently attracted widespread attention because of his attempts to intimidate and harass bloggers who wrote about his criminal history.

Harriet Crosby, 66, reportedly an heiress to the General Mills fortune, was one of the original donors to the Threshold Foundation, which contributed $20,000 to Kimberlin’s Justice Through Music Project in 2008, according to database research I reported May 19.

The Threshold Foundation was started by a group of wealthy devotees of environmentalism and trancendental meditation. The foundation’s “very liberal” view, researcher Ron Arnold has written, “saw American society as rife with injustice and in need of radical transformation.” Threshold has been affiliated with the Tides Foundation, linked to left-wing billionaire George Soros.

A 2009 profile of Crosby in the alumni magazine of the elite Putney School — a private academy in Vermont, where the annual tuition is $46,900 for boarding students — described her as “active” in the tax-exempt non-profit group Velvet Revolution, which Kimberlin helped start in association with liberal blogger Brad Friedman.

Wow, who would have guessed? Another Leftist who supports far Left extremism is supporting Kimberlin’s harassment and lawsuit intimidation racket. And, another shocker, Kimberlin is a liar! NO!

Velvet Revolution gained notoriety by making unsubstantiated claims that Republicans stole the 2004 presidential election through vote fraud. A 2007 Time magazine profile of Kimberlin described how he ”found a home in the blogosphere” by “repeatedly asserting as fact things that are not true.” At one point, Kimberlin offered a $100,000 reward for proof of his assertion that President George W. Bush’s re-election was obtained through vote fraud, a reward that was never paid. Velvet Revolution has also unsuccessfully sought criminal prosecution of various public figures including GOP strategist Karl Rove, the head of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the late New Media entrepreneur Andrew Breitbart.

Isn’t it amazing how so many of these anti-American zealots are connected? And they all seem to have one goal, bringing some form of Marxist reformation to this nation.

UPDATE! Erick Erickson at Red State posts this today

Last week we spent a lot of time writing about Brett Kimberlin and the incident involving blogger Patterico where someone spoofed his phone number and told 911 he had shot his wife.

Tonight, my family was sitting around the kitchen table eating dinner when sheriffs deputies pulled up in the driveway.

Someone called 911 from my address claiming there had been an accidental shooting.

It wasn’t nearly the trauma that Patterico suffered, but I guess the Erickson household is on somebody’s radar.

Luckily it was two sheriffs deputies who knew me and I had already, last week, advised the Sheriff’s Department to be on the look out for something like this.

Well, what do you know. Bob Belvedere is not afraid of swatting, in fact ladies, I think he enjoys that sort of thing

So, just who is this Brett Kimberlin? And why should we care?

Andrew Breitbart, before his untimely death, warned of the need to expose Kimberlin. Now, Stacy McCain is all over the story.  Please give this a read, it matters, a great deal I would say.

This was important, and Andrew Breitbart understood why it was important: The “TwitterGate” episode in October 2010 exposed Democrat operative Neal Rauhauser’s role in an apparent conspiracy to harass Tea Party activists online. Shortly thereafter, Mandy Nagy (aka “Liberty Chick”) documented Brett Kimberlin heinous criminal history.

Kimberlin and his “Velvet Revolution” partner Brad Friedman teamed up to urge Maryland authorities to prosecute James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles. At some point, according to Kimberlin, he became an “associate” of Rauhauser.

Now, investigative journalist Matthew Vadum has shown that major “progressive” tax-exempt foundations contributed tens of thousands of dollars to Kimberlin’s “Justice Through Music Project” and “Velvet Revolution” non-profits.

Money is fungible, as they say. The funding of Kimberlin’s projects — tens of thousands of dollars from the George Soros-connected Tides Foundation, as well as foundations associated with Barbra Streisand and Sen. John Kerry’s wife — thus supported all of Kimberlin’s activities, including his effort to have O’Keefe and Giles prosecuted for their ACORN takedown.

The association between Kimberlin, Friedman and Rauhauser inspires an obvious suspicion: Who is footing the bill for various online projects targeting leading conservative New Media activists?

Read Aaron Worthing’s account of being the target of Kimberlin’s attempted legal intimidation. Worthing’s offense? Apparently, being a former co-blogger with Patterico, who has written extensively about Kimberlin’s criminal record. Patterico has also been a target of Kimberlin.

Evidently, anyone who tells the truth about Brett Kimberlin is subject to this familar pattern of harassment and attempted intimidation.

Kimberlin is a notorious liar, who was convicted of perjury before he graduated high school and has been called a “world-class liar” by award-winning journalist Mark Singer. Just a few years after being released from federal prison, Kimberlin somehow managed to get funding from major donors and began passing himself off as an expert on “election reform,” becoming a favorite of the left-wing blogosphere by “repeatedly asserting as facts things that are not true,” as Timemagazine’s Mssimo Calabresi wrote in 2007.

Now, it gets interesting: A site called “Breitbart Unmasked” has published a list of what it calls “The Breitbart Crew,” including everyone from Brent Bozell III to Dave Weigel of Slate.

Go read it all, as I said, this is news that affects all of us, and not just bloggers who might catch the radar of this power hungry monster. This is about intimidating those who dare expose the truth, and, possibly, about more than just intimidation. Stacy also links a bunch of bloggers also covering this

UPDATE: It takes an “Army of Breitbarts” to overcome the indifference, inertia and bias of the mainstream media. One blogger can accomplish little on his own, and I am therefore grateful to all those who have helped call attention to the Kimberlin case, including:

Are Rich Libs Paying THEIR Fair Share?

Liberals hate that those “rich folks” do not pay enough in taxes. So, why don’t these same Liberals demand that Rich Liberals pay their fair share, rather than sending tens and tens of millions to political campaigns?

George Soros and several top Democrat donors will donate $100 million to liberal groups focused on reelecting failed President Barack Obama.
New York Magazine reported, via Free Republic:

Billionaire investor George Soros will be supplying $2 million to independent Democratic groups focused on grassroots election efforts as part of a greater donor initiative to enhance outreach and voter registration operations. Soros will divide his donation equally between America Votes, a group that provides coordination and campaign support to progressive organizations; and American Bridge 21st Century, a super-PAC that focuses on communications and election-oriented research. Soros’s contribution will be part of a nearly $100 million boost from major liberal donors to like-minded causes and efforts. According to a New York Times report, Soros and others are pledging funds to grassroots-type groups in part because they don’t believe they can match the massive Republican super-PAC-funded negative television ad bombs, but also as a symbolic rejection of the Supreme Court’s Citizens United decision, which gave birth to super-PACs that may spend on campaigns without limits.

Well Liberals?

I keep saying that the RNC really ought to hire bloggers to give them campaign advice

And one Chris Wysocki reinforces my point today with his post on the Democrats strategy of distraction

What’s the biggest problem facing America right now?

The Economy.

What’s everyone talking about?

Contraception.

And gay “marriage.” And now banning electronic devices in cars.

Reading that article I kept noticing the word “distracted” (driving) and it hit me. That’s it!. They’re distracting us.

It’s gotta be on purpose.

The only way Obama gets re-elected is if no one is talking about what dismal shape our economy is in. So he picks a fight with the Catholic Church. George Soros sends Politico and Media Matters out to fan the flames of gay “marriage.”

Go read it all. It is dead on target,at least I think so. Our eventual nominee  just needs to ignore the distractions the Dems and the media will throw out there at every turn. The Democrats cannot win on substance,or on the issues.they can only win by muddying the waters, and by using fear and smear tactics. So, ignore those, do not get distracted, stay on point. And do not give the Dems or the media any ammo to use. Yes,they will lie, but let them make up things. Voters will, in the end, care more about our sorry economy, than about Democrats making up things about the GOP nominee and contraceptives. They will also care more about Obama’s intrusion on religious liberty, and the other intrusions upon all our liberties that Obamacare will bring.

In short, we should not play their game. We should stick to playing ours. My only fear is that we,the GOP,will fail to stick to that game plan, or that our nominee will either be too timid,or too easily led into the weeds of Gay marriage, or contraception.
