Obama’s foreign policy fiasco: F-16′s to our enemies, but not to our friends?

Sure, we will sell tanks and fighters to Egypt, run by the Muslim Brotherhood, but Taiwan? A free republic? Naw

Unlike the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, which faces no existential threat, our Asian ally faces an increasingly belligerent and well-armed China. Yet only one gets the latest weaponry and the question is why.

On Jan. 30, a Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force destroyer in the East China Sea near the disputed Senkaku Islands just north of Taiwan was “painted” by fire control-radar from two People’s Liberation Army warships, believed to be the Chinese frigates Linyungang and Wenzhou.

This was just the latest provocation by a China flexing its deep water naval muscle as it asserts itself in the East and South China Seas and pursues long-held territorial ambitions. One of those ambitions is the absorption into the People’s Republic of its alleged long-lost province of Taiwan.

China continues to add missiles targeted on Taiwan, adds naval capability including an aircraft carrier, expands its amphibious capabilities, as well as developing its own stealth fighter said to be roughly equivalent to our now-canceled F-22 Raptor.

In this context, Taiwan has sought to improve its defenses with the acquisition of 66 F-16C and F-16F fighter aircraft, also known as Block 52 planes.

These are not stripped down versions that are sometimes sold overseas, but state-of-the-art aircraft with the latest bells and whistles, one of the most capable fighter aircraft in the world.

While Taiwan languishes in military limbo, Egypt, under the thumb of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Mohammed Morsi, has received the first of 20 such aircraft scheduled for delivery in 2013, 16 single-seat F-16Cs and four double-seat F-16Ds.

Egypt’s new F-16s will raise its inventory of the Lockheed Martin jets to 240. But unlike Taiwan’s request, they have an offensive mission — they’re targeted mainly against the Islamists’ enemy, Israel. That’s our ally.

The administration insists Egypt’s F-16s merely constitute an honoring of a $1.3 billion a year U.S. military aid program signed by the regime of Morsi’s predecessor, President Hosni Mubarak.

Yet it balks at fulfilling Taiwan’s request for defensive F-16s, a sale mandated by the 1979 Taiwan Relations Act.

Here you have it. Increasingly I am thinking this administration will be remembered as the WTF? Administration. And again, the question is posed, is Team Obama really this naive? Or is this deliberate?

Has the Muslim Brotherhood infiltrated Team Obama?

The Investigative Project on Terrorism quotes an Egyptian magazine

An Egyptian magazine claims that six American Islamist activists who work with the Obama administration are Muslim Brotherhood operatives who enjoy strong influence over U.S. policy.

The Dec. 22 story published in Egypt’s Rose El-Youssef magazine (read an IPT translation here) suggests the six turned the White House “from a position hostile to Islamic groups and organizations in the world to the largest and most important supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood.”

The story is largely unsourced, but its publication is considered significant in raising the issue to Egyptian readers.

The six named people include: Arif Alikhan, assistant secretary of Homeland Security for policy development; Mohammed Elibiary, a member of the Homeland Security Advisory Council; Rashad Hussain, the U.S. special envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference; Salam al-Marayati, co-founder of the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC); Imam Mohamed Magid, president of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA); and Eboo Patel, a member of President Obama’s Advisory Council on Faith-Based Neighborhood Partnerships.

Alikhan is a founder of the World Islamic Organization, which the magazine identifies as a Brotherhood “subsidiary.” It suggests that Alikhan was responsible for the “file of Islamic states” in the White House and that he provides the direct link between the Obama administration and the Arab Spring revolutions of 2011.

Elibiary, who has endorsed the ideas of radical Muslim Brotherhood luminary Sayyid Qutb, may have leaked secret materials contained in Department of Homeland Security databases, according to the magazine. He, however, denies having any connection with the Brotherhood.

Elibiary also played a role in defining the Obama administration’s counterterrorism strategy, and the magazine asserts that Elibiary wrote the speech Obama gave when he told former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to leave power but offers no source or evidence for the claim.

The veracity of the magazine is something I do not know. But, if you consider the Obama administrations record on Egypt, it certainly raises eyebrows. Go read the rest

Speaking of Team Obama’s foolish embrace of Egyptian President Morsi. Please consider his attitude towards Israel

The worst possible thing you can do is show weakness to terrorists

And yet, on September 11th, our embassy is attacked by radical knuckle dragging Jihadist swine, and WE apologize?

A mob of protesters scaled the walls of the U.S. Embassy compound in Cairo and tore down its American flag on Tuesday, replacing it with a black flag commonly associated with Islamic terrorists.

The protesters were angered by a film that allegedly insults Muhammad, and attempted to raise a flag with the message “There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger,” Reuters reports. Muhammad is the prophet of Islam.

Warning shots were fired, but no one was injured.

The Associated Press reports that no embassy personnel were inside the compound at the time. Tuesday was the eleventh anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks that killed over 3,000 Americans. (SEE ALSO: U.S. negotiating $1B aid deal with Egypt)

The name of the offending film was not mentioned, but demonstrators chanted anti-American slogans and held up shredded pieces of the American flag.

The U.S. Embassy said in a statement that it “condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims — as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions.”

“Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy,” the statement read. “We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others.”

Oh no! Not hurt feelings! Are you kidding me? Muslims cannot take having their egos bruised? They cannot be offended without resorting to violence? Cry me a river! Tell you what, how about this, the next time any embassy of ours is attacked, we shoot dead every SOB attacking it, pull our people out, close the embassy, and leave a sign reading DO NOT MAKE US COME BACK! Instead we act like cowards? Good freaking grief!

Look, this is not complicated at all. If I offend someone, and I surely offend many every day on this blog, and they attack me physically for that offense, I do not owe them anything. Well, except for an ass whipping.

In a related post, RS McCain has a great post up about this. I think McCain AND his son, who is joining the Army, understand what I mean! And God bless a protect Bob McCain!

The other day I asked my wife where our 19-year-old son Bob was.

The answer: Hiking up a mountain with an 85-pound pack.

He recently enlisted in the Army, having scored a near-maximum on the ASVAB test, and will report to boot camp in a few months — some kind of delayed-entry deal — as an aspiring candidate for the elite Special Forces. Already a Red Cross certified lifeguard, he is so fired-up that he’s voluntarily doing PT (physical training) in advance, which is why he hiked up the mountain with an 85-pound pack.

Because he is preparing to kill our nation’s enemies.

My wife is concerned for our son’s safety. No, dear — let our nation’s enemies worry about their own safety. Because he’s coming to kill them.

Do you want to be America’s enemy? Really?

Egyptian protesters scaled the walls of the U.S. embassy on Tuesday, tore down the American flag and burned it during a protest over what they said was a film being produced in the United States that insulted Prophet Mohammad. . . .
Once the U.S. flag was hauled down, some protesters tore it up and showed off pieces to television cameras. Others burned the remains outside the fortress-like embassy building in central Cairo. . . .
“This movie must be banned immediately and an apology should be made,” said 19-year-old Ismail Mahmoud, a member of the so-called “ultras” soccer supporters who played a big role in the uprising that brought down Hosni Mubarak last year.

Hey, Ismail: Do you think this flag-burning stuff is smart? You want to turn this into war? You want my son to come kill you?

I don’t know anything about this movie you and your “ultra” mob are all excited about, Ismail, but attacking a U.S. embassy isn’t the kind of thing that Americans take lightly, no matter what gutless apologies you get from the pussies at the State Department. And the same goes for that mob of violent savages in Benghazi:

Gunmen and security forces clashed at the U.S. consulate office in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi on Tuesday as the armed group protested over a film being produced in the United States, a security official said. . . .
“There are fierce clashes between the Libyan army and an armed militia outside the U.S. consulate,” Abdel-Monen Al-Hurr, spokesman for Libya’s Supreme Security Committee, said.
“The U.S. consulate’s security guards inside the building fired at the militia as it was trying to enter and attack it.”

See, I’ve got skin in the game, so to speak, and this is what enrages me about the folly of appeasement, which only invites such attacks.

Go read it all! I think RS McCain might agree with me that we need to fire whomever apologized, and do as Generals Stonewall Jackson or George S Patton might do

Annihilate these savages. Hunt them down and kill them, and kill any of those other vicious fanatical bastards who try to stop us.

Amen! Appeasement is a fool’s errand!

How Team Obama screwed the pooch and threw Egypt to the wolves

Ah Liberals, always so trusting of dictators, Islamists, and, or course Communists. You might think they would learn after getting screwed over so often.  But, the Left never seems to get it

After angry Egyptians pelted her motorcade with shoes, chanting “Leave!,” Secretary of State Clinton insisted the U.S. wasn’t there to take sides. Too late.

‘I want to be clear that the United States is not in the business, in Egypt, of choosing winners and losers, even if we could, which of course we cannot,” Hillary Clinton intoned earlier this week.

Of course, the administration could, and it did, picking and even colluding with the Muslim Brotherhood. And one of its hard-liners, Mohammed Morsi, now sits in the presidential palace, where he refused to shake unveiled Clinton’s hand.

This administration favored Islamists over secularists and helped them overthrow Hosni Mubarak, the reliable U.S. ally who had outlawed the terrorist Brotherhood and honored the peace pact with Israel for three decades. The Brotherhood, in contrast, has backed Hamas and called for the destruction of Israel.

Now the administration is dealing with the consequences of its misguided king-making. Officials fear the new regime could invite al-Qaida, now run by an Egyptian exile, back into Egypt and open up a front with Israel along the Sinai. Result: more terrorists and higher gas prices.

In fact, it was Hillary’s own department that helped train Brotherhood leaders for the Egyptian elections. Behind the scenes, she and the White House made a calculated decision, and took step-by-step actions, to effectively sell out Israel and U.S. interests in the Mideast to the Islamists.

Or, maybe they DO get it? Maybe this was deliberate? I hate feeling like that is even a viable option here. But, given the radical things Team Obama has done, and done, and done that question must be asked. And make sure you read the timeline at the link, there really is little room to think anything but the worst here. This administration has been, and is way to cozy with the Muslim Brotherhood. That ought to scare all of us, and is yet another glaring reason to vote Romney in November. As bad as Obama has been on economic issues, his foreign policy is as bad, maybe even worse.

If Arab Spring was a soap………….

It would smell nothing like Irish Spring. rather it would have the stench of Backasswards Sharia all over it!

(AHN) — Sunbathing in Alexandria may soon be a thing of the past, at least if some Egyptian Islamist politicians have their way.

Egypt’s tourism industry has suffered a severe blow since the outburst of anti-regime demonstrations in January. But that did not stop the Freedom and Justice Party, the political wing of the Muslim Brotherhood, from demanding stricter regulations over what tourists can do and wear while visiting the country. The party is urging officials to ban skimpy swimwear and the consumption of alcohol on Egyptian streets.

“Beach tourism must take the values and norms of our society into account,” Muhammad Saad Al-Katatny, secretary-general of Freedom and Justice, told Egyptian tourism officials on Monday. “We must place regulations on tourists wishing to visit Egypt, which we will announce in advance.”

The call for new strictures on tourists comes as Egypt debates the role of Islam in the post-Mubarak era. Freedom and Justice is competing in elections scheduled for this autumn for parliament and opinion polls show a majority of Egyptians favor a greater use of Islamic law and mores. But a vocal minority worries that Egypt risks becoming an Islamic republic.

“This is how things began in Iran,” Hani Henry, a psychology professor at the American University in Cairo, told The Media Line. “The moderate youth wanted to implement changes, but the mullah’s hijacked the revolution. The same thing is now happening here in Egypt with the Muslim Brotherhood. It makes me sick to my stomach.”

Just imagine what a great country Egypt COULD BE. If it only embraced liberty. Instead it might be sliding into the tyranny of Sharia, the Egyptian people deserve better.

The Moral Retardation of the “International Community”

The Left loves to laud the greatness and wonder of the “International Community”. Myself, I think the opinion of the so-called IC is about as worthless as tits on a boar. Rick, at Wizbang takes note of the IC’s Selective Outrage Syndrome over Israel daring to defend itself.

Jews killing Muslims who are in effect invading Israel is anathema… but Muslims, who many claim are moderate, killing Christians is no big deal:

TWELVE Christian were murdered in Egypt. Two hundred and thirty-two people wounded. The death toll will surely rise as victims succumb to their injuries. And that’s just in the past few days. In the same time period, more Christians were killed in Egypt at the hands of Muslims than people killed in Syria or in Libya as a result of protests, riots and resistance.

Two churches in Cairo were burned in recent days. Over the past few months church property has being gutted, vandalised and violated with graffiti. Churches have been blown up.

An entire community – the Christian community in the new Egypt – is under attack. And the world remains relatively silent. There has been no significant religious outcry, political redress or diplomatic pressure to stop the attacks. There has been almost no media coverage as Egypt’s Muslims systematically, over the past few months, set about massacring Egypt’s Christians.

The world is not only standing idly by, it is enabling the massacre. The US naively expects that a new era, begun in new Egypt, will ripple to the rest of the Islamic world. So in the midst of these monstrous mass murders in Egypt, the US has decided to send an extra $US1 billion to help the Egyptians ease the economic crisis that emerged as a result of the ousting of Hosni Mubarak on February 11. Muslims in Egypt are on the warpath – on the religious warpath – and the US is feeding them money.

See how the mind of the far left works, or does not work, I might say. Israel is attacked, defends itself, and the Left and their beloved IC, is outraged. Muslims slaughtering Christians for  merely being Christian? No biggie! You seem the Left loves to speak of “equality”, but clearly, to them certain people, and certain religions, are more equal than others.

Undeniable proof that the Muslim Brotherhood OUGHT to be feared!

If Jimmy Carter, the most useless of the useless idiots, says they are nothing to be afraid of, then you KNOW, they are something we ought to be afraid of!

“I think the Muslim Brotherhood is not anything to be afraid of in the upcoming (Egyptian) political situation and the evolution I see as most likely,” Carter said. “They will be subsumed in the overwhelming demonstration of desire for freedom and true democracy.”

Call it the Jimmy Carter rule. Anytime Carter proclaims any individual, or group, as non-threatening, you KNOW they are a threat!

Am I the only one that this bothers?

Remember the massive protests in Iran? Our president was silent during those, and was criticized by the Right for that silence. So, now, when protests, largely stirred up by The Muslim Brotherhood began, our president could not wait to jump in and offer encouragement. So, am I loony to ponder why the very different reactions from this president? Would I be nutty to note that he was quick to support protests that may, indeed, help install the Muslim Brotherhood in a leadership role in Egypt? Would I be way off base to also note, again, his silence during the Iran protests against an evil Islamic regime?

HMMMMMMMMMMMM

Andrew C. McCarthy: What Could Be Worse Than Elbaradei?

What Could Be Worse Than Elbaradei? – Andrew C. McCarthy

Jay Nordinger could not be more correct that Mohammed ElBaradei is a menace. He is more responsible than any non-Iranian for the progress the mullahs have made on their nuke program (with dishonorable mention to China and Russia) – although I think another Egyptian, Yasser Arafat, may have been a worse Nobel choice. I also agree that, under the circumstances, Egypt could do worse than having ElBaradei running its government.

Some perspective: the guy I convicted in 1995, Omar Abdel Rahman – the Blind Sheikh who issued the fatwa approving the murder of Anwar Sadat and tried energetically to have his successor, Hosni Mubarak, killed – was a great admirer of Ayatollah Khomeini Islamist revolution in Iran and hoped to replicate it (a Sunni version of it) in Egypt, with himself recognized as the top Islamic authority advising the sharia government.

We are beginning to see take shape, though, the something that could be worse than ElBaradei: ElBaradei in collusion with the Muslim Brotherhood.

Assuming the ouster of Mubarak, the Brotherhood has just announced its official support for the establishment of a transitional government under the direction of ElBaradei. In hearing Fox News report this, I was astonished to hear a correspondent opine that just because the Brotherhood is offering its support does not mean ElBaradei would want it.

A few days ago, ElBaradei gave an interview to Der Spiegel – Aaron Klein reported on it at WND yesterday. As Klein noted, ElBaradei is widely seen as a staunch ally of the Brotherhood (surprise!) and gave a spirited defense of them that was about as honest as his disclosures about the Iranian nuclear program used to be: “We should stop demonizing the Muslim Brotherhood,” he insisted.

According to ElBaradei, the Brothers “have not committed any acts of violence in five decades.” [ACM note: the Brotherhood killed Sadat in 1981; Hamas kills people everyday.] ElBaradei, who also admires President Obama ardently, said that the Brothers just “want change.” Thus, he concludes, “If we want democracy and freedom, we have to include them instead of marginalizing them.” [ACM: Yeah, just like we did with Hamas - and how's that workin' out?]

For its part, the Obama administration – which has made outreach to the Muslim Brotherhood and its American affiliates a policy priority – reciprocates ElBaradei’s admiration. Robert Gibbs said Friday that the president knows ElBaradei well and has worked closely with him.

By the way, ElBaradei also says “Israel is the number one threat to the Middle East,” and has expressed strong support for the Palestinian “resistance,” particularly in Hamas-controlled Gaza (which he calls “the world’s largest prison”), because, in his opinion, “the Israeli occupation only understands the language of violence.”

Makes you wonder how ElBaradei and the Muslim Brotherhood managed to find each other – they’re so very different. Amazing to see the forces that “change” brings together.

A note to those who think all Muslims are bad

Y’all know who you are, and as I have said before you are wrong, yes far too many Muslims engage in, or supoport, or condone Jihadism, but certainly not all

Credit where credit is due. These are good people.

Egypt’s majority Muslim population stuck to its word Thursday night. What had been a promise of solidarity to the weary Coptic community, was honoured, when thousands of Muslims showed up at Coptic Christmas eve mass services in churches around the country and at candle light vigils held outside.

From the well-known to the unknown, Muslims had offered their bodies as “human shields” for last night’s mass, making a pledge to collectively fight the threat of Islamic militants and towards an Egypt free from sectarian strife.

“We either live together, or we die together,” was the sloganeering genius of Mohamed El-Sawy, a Muslim arts tycoon whose cultural centre distributed flyers at churches in Cairo Thursday night, and who has been credited with first floating the “human shield” idea.

Among those shields were movie stars Adel Imam and Yousra, popular preacher Amr Khaled, the two sons of President Hosni Mubarak, and thousands of citizens who have said they consider the attack one on Egypt as a whole.

“This is not about us and them,” said Dalia Mustafa, a student who attended mass at Virgin Mary Church on Maraashly. “We are one. This was an attack on Egypt as a whole, and I am standing with the Copts because the only way things will change in this country is if we come together.”

Well, it did not take the Religion of Peace long now did it?

Another year begins, and 21 innocent people are slaughtered by some Jihadist swine, this time, a church in Egypt is the scene of the carnage

The New Year starts with Islamists in Egypt attempting to “cleanse the Middle East of Christians.”  Asia News reports:

A car bomb exploded last night outside a Coptic church in Alexandria, Egypt, just before Mass ended. The death toll from the bloody attack is, for now, 21 dead and 43 wounded. An eyewitness sport to reporters of a real “blood bath”, with dozens of mangled bodies lying on the ground. The explosion was followed by clashes with between Christians and Muslims in the streets adjacent to the church. A local priest has said the toll could have been much worse if the car had exploded just a few minutes later. After the attack witnesses say that many of the faithful gathered outside the charred remains of the car singing “We offer our lives and our blood through the Cross.” The attack of last night brings to mind the October 31 massacre in Baghdad, in the Syrian Catholic cathedral, and the Al Qaeda threat against Christians in Egypt.

The mayor of Alexandria, gen. Adel Labib, told Egyptian TV that there have been threats of attacks on churches recently. The Egyptian Interior Ministry has imposed strict security measures around all the churches. ”The Islamic effort to cleanse the Middle East by Christians has increased,” writes a Coptic website. In a statement published by the Egyptian press, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has appealed to Egyptians, “Copts and Muslims, to maintain their unity in the face of the terrorist forces that undermine the stability of the homeland and its unity.”

As Robin Shepherd opines, and opines quite correctly I think, we are really all in this together, if only the Left understood that!

It will be interesting to observe the international response following last night’s slaughter of at least 21 Christians by Islamists outside a Church in Alexandria, Egypt. If it had been the other way around (heaven forfend that it had been carried out by Jews) there would have been mass protests around the world, condemnations from leading politicians and, given that this comes on the heels of other such massacres, could well have ended up with a resolution at the United Nations.

But don’t hold your breath. The politically correct multi-culturalism that holds sway across Europe and increasing sections of the United States (I hardly need mention the UN) dictates that we must always beware of enflaming Muslim sensitivities. The great diversionary spectre of “Islamophobia” silences all that go before it.

But last night’s bomb attack in Egypt is no isolated event. During a Christmas Day mass in the Philippines 11 were injured in a bombing in a Christian chapel. Also in December 38 Christians were slaughtered by Muslim extremists in Nigeria, a country where church burnings are starting to become commonplace. In Iraq last Autumn 68 Christians were massacred in the Our Lady of Salvation church in Baghdad by a group threatening that Christians will be “exterminated”. Across the Middle East, Christians increasingly live in fear of their Muslim neighbours, and the region’s Christian population is diminishing fast. So at what point does a series of “isolated events” start to form a pattern?

Read the whole piece, and understand that yes radical Islamists ARE out to kill us all, Jews, Christians, Hindus, Westerners, Muslims who are actually peaceful, and on and on and…………..and to my Liberal readers, the pacifists, the Leftists, do not think for one second that you misguided coddling and excuse making for terrorists allow you to escape this list either!
