The Left’s obsession with equality strikes again

18 Jun

Moonbattery has the scoop

From Los Angeles:

One of the largest public charter high schools in the nation allows a boy who identifies as female to use the girls locker room and bathrooms — despite protests from a female student who says she feels uncomfortable and vulnerable by his presence.

What’s more, the female student — who just finished her sophomore year at the Los Angeles-based Granada Hills Charter High School — claims the boy in question harassed her, touched her hair, stared strangely at her, and also peeked at girls over the stalls while they used the toilet.

“It’s amazing to me that a public school who is responsible to protect the rights of all students will blatantly ignore the Constitutional right to privacy of young female students within the locker rooms and restrooms of the school,” Robert Tyler, the girl’s attorney, told The College Fix.

That’s what they get for being normal. Political correctness dictates that normal people don’t deserve rights, because they are oppressors of the sacred castes, prominent among which are perverts.

It will get worse before it gets better in the Land of Fruits and Nuts.

The California Assembly (same as House of Representatives in most states) passed Assembly Bill 1266 by a 46-25 vote. …

AB 1266 states that public schools cannot discriminate in any way concerning the sex of the student.

Sounds nice, since we all know that to “discriminate” is the ultimate sin. But if you swallow that, you have to swallow this:

Section 221.5 of the Education Code is amended to read: …

A pupil shall be permitted to participate in sex-segregated school programs and activities, including athletic teams and competitions, and use facilities consistent with his or her gender identity, irrespective of the gender listed on the pupil’s records.

The Left always seems to insist that the one that is different be accommodated, no matter how it inconveniences the vast majority.

Stacy McCain: It ain’t over until Amanda Marcotte makes a fool of herself!

4 Apr

For those not familiar with Marcotte, let me just say she took a left turn at the intersection of Feminist and Loony, and has been going ever since. McCain has her latest bit of idiocy

No public controversy involving sex is complete until feminist scold Amanda Marcotte makes a fool of herself, and she’s continually striving for ever-lower nadirs of stupidity.

So, a high-school boy in Los Angeles recorded a YouTube video asking famous model/actress Kate Upton to be his prom date. Upton at first indicated on the Today show that she might accept the invitation, but then politely declined. End of story? No, because Amanda Marcotte had not yet made a fool of herself.

How did Marcotte react to the Kate Upton prom-date story? Byinterpreting it through a prism of sexual violence:

The lesson learned: You may be a rich and famous model, but any random man can, just by making a video, force you to do a little song and dance about how delightful his attentions are.
Instead of applauding Davidson for this, adults should be appalled. All that’s been taught here to young men is that they are entitled to women’s attention simply because they ask for it. . . . This entitlement we teach men crops up all the time for women, and it’s rarely as cute as a silly comedy video: When a man demands that you stop on the street to entertain his proposal of going back to his place and then follows you for blocks because you pretended not to hear him. When a rape victim is told that if she didn’t want to have sex, she shouldn’t have gone to the rapist’s hotel room. When a woman files for a restraining order because she’s afraid her abusive husband means it when he says that if he can’t have her, no one can. . . .
[M]en who are violent feel justified because they believe that women owe them their attention, their bodies, and their love. By joining in the collective pressure on Upton to give her attention . . . to a young man just because he wants it, we’re contributing to the overall culture of male entitlement.

Could we unpack the bizarre and tendentious assumptions packed so tightly into Marcotte’s pointy head? Yes, we could.

Do we really need to bother doing so? No, we don’t.

Marcotte hates men, that is obvious. She hates them so much that she likens a teenage boy with a crush on a starlet to a rapist somehow. In her mind, every time a man talks to a woman, especially if he dares asks her out, he is somehow victimizing her Wow! Marcotte seems to be only happy when she feels like a victim, that must be a sad existence.

The girl can’t help it

Some women just have “it”. they are just naturally beautiful, and no matter what they wear, they exude sex appeal. Maria Menounos is such a woman. She does not have to dress in revealing clothes to stun men, and Lesbians I suppose. Here is  agreat example of how gorgeous and sexy a woman can be without dressing in revealing attire

Media whitewashes crazed ex-cop’s manifesto

8 Feb

Over at The Other McCain, Stacy notes this tidbit about Christopher Dorner’s and his manifesto

ABC News reports:

The rage-filled “manifesto” written by former police officer Christopher Dorner before he went on an alleged cop killing spree around the Los Angeles area was dismissed by the head of the Los Angeles Police Department today as “self-serving” and “ramblings on the Internet.”

Well of course it is “self-serving” and rambling, manifestos are rambling, incoherent and self-serving, If you do not believe me, read the Communist Manifesto sometime, talk about Cukoo for Cocoa Puffs! But, the real story is not what the LAPD is pointing out. The real story is that the media is downplaying, completely ignoring this nuts manifesto.

Indeed. The major media have tried to suppress the ugly truth about Chris Dorner’s motives and ideology by publishing a truncated version of his Facebook “manifesto” that omits the evidence that this mass murderer is, in fact, a liberal Democrat. Sooper Mexican got hold of the entire manifesto that makes the truth obvious enough:

No more Virginia Tech, Columbine HS, Wisconsin temple, Aurora theatre, Portland malls, Tucson rally, Newtown Sandy Hook. Whether by executive order or thru a bi-partisan congress an assault weapons ban needs to be re-instituted. Period!!!
Mia Farrow said it best. “Gun control is no longer debatable, it’s not a conversation, its a moral mandate.”
Sen. Feinstein, you are doing the right thing in leading the re-institution of a national [assault weapons ban]. Never again should any public official state that their prayers and thoughts are with the family. That has become cliche’ and meaningless. Its time for action.

Well, how about that? pretty strange isn’t it? I mean here is a guy, OK a nutcase with a rambling manifesto, who abhors mass shootings and “assault weapons”. And to show how much he cares about the victims of gun violence, he is shooting people! that, my friends is grade-A crazy! Of course, Dorner also shows another sure sign of certified lunacy by praising Dianne Feinstein, and Mia Farrow.

“Mia Farrow said it best” — yeah, that’s the kind of sentence that practically screams “diminished mental capacity.”

“Sen. Feinstein, you are doing the right thing” — another telltale clue that we are dealing with a deranged mind.

So, what if the killer had a manifesto that even used the words Tea Party? What if he, in any way, mentioned Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, or any Conservative blog? Would the media be ignoring that as unimportant? Yeah, I know, silly question. And of course, you David Frum would be Tweeting like a mofo ripping gun owners, and trying to stay relevant.

Before the Left starts blaming Right Wing Blogs, and Rush Limbaugh for the LA cop rampage…..

You ought to know who he IS  a fan of. Via The Daily Caller

Los Angeles police launched a manhunt Thursday for former LAPD officer Christopher Dorner, who is suspected of murdering two people last weekend and killing one person and wounding another in a shooting Thursday morning. A lengthy manifesto on Dorner’s Facebook page states his support for President Barack Obama and CNN host Piers Morgan, and his hatred of both the National Rifle Association and former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

The manifesto, reportedly 22 pages long, expressed the suspected killer’s support for President Obama and anti-gun CNN host Piers Morgan.

“You disrespect the office of the POTUS/Presidency and Commander in Chief. You call him Kenyan, mongroid, halfrican, muslim, and FBHO when in essence you are to address him as simply, President,” Dorner wrote of those opposed to President Obama.

“Electoral Candidates children (Romney) state they want to punch the president in the face during debates with no formal repercussions. No one even questioned the fact that the son just made a criminal threat toward the President. You call his wife a Wookie. Off the record, I love your new bangs, Mrs. Obama,” Dorner wrote.

“[G]ive Piers Morgan an indefinite resident alien and Visa card,” he added.

“Mr. Morgan, the problem that many American gun owners have with you and your continuous discussion of gun control is that you are not an American citizen and have an accent that is distinct and clarifies that you are a foreigner. I want you to know that I agree with you 100% on enacting stricter firearm laws.”

No, I am not blaming the president, or Morgan, This guy is a nutcase, and he alone is responsible for his evil acts. I just wanted the TRUTH to get out before the Left starts blaming people like me.

Just five minutes is all I ask

2 Feb

Five minutes is not a long time, but man, it would be so nice to have five minutes, to have a face-to-face discussion with Lawrence O’Donnell. I say face-to-face because I would never get a chance to talk if I ever went on his MSNBS show, The Last Word, which should be called Lawrence Rants. On the show, Lawrence, yells at and talks over anyone who dares have a Conservative viewpoint. You can watch the video of O’Donnell screaming at Gayle Trotter for daring to believe in the right to self-defense here. he shows himself to be a bully, a chauvinist who is angry apparently because Trotter does not know her  place, and most of all an intellectual coward. The very last thing O’Donnell wants is an honest debate.

This is why a five minute meeting with Larry the Screamer would be fun. First he would not even try to bully me, second he could not be able to control the debate setting, and third, I could call him out to his face for the pompous, over bearing ass hat that he is. And he would do absolutely nothing about it, because he is nothing but a gutless wonder who bullies those that he can.

Much more at Allergic to Bull, where Lawrence and other Leftists pushing for gun control are exposed. O’Donell tried to say that no woman, or anyone period has ever used an assault weapon, a manufactured term that is meaningless, to stop a violent attacker. Aaron Worthing destroys that lie. The spin that O’Donnell used that in many cases the attackers flee when they see a gun, is also addressed.

From the accompanying article:

Early Tuesday morning, Christopher Boise heard a noise coming from the basement. As he walked toward the source of that noise, the RIT student noticed two men standing in the downstairs portion of his apartment.

“They were waiting for me at the bottom of the stairs,” said Boise.

One of them had a handgun trained on Boise.

Within moments, Boise screamed. His cries were heard by his roommate, Raymond.

“It wasn’t like a, ‘I stepped by stepped on a piece of glass’ kind of scream,” Raymond said.  “So, I instinctively went to my gun bag.”

Raymond owns an AR-15 which is a military style rifle.

Raymond estimated that just five seconds passed until the door started to open. It was one of the intruders.

“By the time I had it out and ready, one of the men came at my door, slowly opened it, saw that there was a barrel on the other side and from there backed out,” Raymond said.

The two men fled the apartment.

Nothing was taken and no shots were fired.

Now, you might say, “see?  He didn’t need any bullets at all, and certainly not a high capacity clip!  After all the gun was not even loaded when they ran (as is revealed in the full article and in the video)!”  The problem with that is that clearly in this case, it was the fear factor that drove the burglars** off.  So what part of their fear was relevant?  Would any gun have worked?  Would an ordinary hunting rifle have worked?  Or did it specifically help that it was a military style rifle?  And did the burglars think, albeit erroneously, that this man could fling at them up to thirty rounds without reloading?  We might never know the answer to the question and therefore we cannot know whether a lesser weapon would have done the job.

And the irony of it is that allowing this young man to have an AR-15 might have saved lives.  If he had nothing, who knows what the burglars might have done.  Were they just there to rob, or kidnap?  Or maybe the burglars thought that the two young men were gay (rightly or wrong–I don’t want to suggest anything about them) and wanted to beat them up.  One of them could have been hospitalized.  One of them could have died.  Or imagine if Raymond’s weapon was not as intimidating.  Imagine the law kept him from having that AR-15, or limited the size of its magazine and the criminals knew it.  One of the criminals had a gun, too.  Would they have thought that they could take Raymond on?  Would a firefight have ensued?  One can only guess, and one can only speculate at how such a shootout might have went, but it seems unlikely that all four men would have escaped that situation without someone at least being hurt.

But I saved the best example of the use of Assault Rifles for defense for last.  The LA Riots:

This year marked the 20th anniversary of the Los Angeles riots, sparked by the acquittal of four Los Angeles Police Department officers accused of beating the now-deceased Rodney King.  During the five days, mobs around Los Angeles looted stores, burnt 3,767 buildings, caused more than $1 billion in property damage, and led to the deaths of more than 50 people and left another 4,000 injured.  A story that has been forgotten since then is that of the brave storeowners in Koreatown who fended off mobs with handguns, rifles and assault weapons.

On the second day of the riots, the police had abandoned much of Koreatown.  Jay Rhee, a storeowner in the area, stated to The Los Angeles Times, “we have lost faith in the police.”

With the cops nowhere to be found, hundreds of people marauded through the streets towards Koreatown.  The neighborhood suffered 45 percent of all the property damage and five fatalities of storeowners during the riots.  Having had enough of waiting for police, Korean storeowners assembled into militias to protect themselves, their families, and businesses.

According to the Los Angeles Times, “From the rooftops of their supermarkets, a group of Koreans armed with shotguns and automatic weapons peered onto the smoky streets…Koreans have turned their pastel-colored mini-malls into fortresses against looters tide.”

Rhee claimed that the storeowners shot off 500 rounds into the sky and ground in order to break up the masses of people.  The only weapons able to clear that much ammo in a very short time are assault weapons.  Single shot pistols or rifles might not have been able to deter the crowd hell-bent on destroying the neighborhood.

By the end of the day storeowners had slain four looters and fended off the mob.  It would be 24 more hours until the National Guard arrived and another two days before the riots were completely put down.  Had the riots occurred just a couple of years later when the Congress banned assault weapons, many of these storeowners may not have been so lucky. It’s situations like the LA riots, which, while being rare, can occur anywhere from the streets of Los Angeles to far off countries during the Arab Spring.

Assault weapons are legal for this reason: they protect people from extreme cases of assault.

And for bonus points, while the article doesn’t mention if they had so-called high capacity clips or not, with shooting over 500 bullets into the air, it seems reasonable to believe they used a few, doesn’t it?

There are other examples too in the post, go read it all. It is excellent!

Charles Durning 89, Jack Klugman 90 pass away

26 Dec

Sad day, two good actors are gone

What a couple of mugs, sporting less-than-perfect physiques in the bargain.

But was there anything lovelier than Jack Klugman or Charles Durning doing what they did for an audience?

Rumpled Klugman exploding at his prissy flat-mate Tony Randall in the long-running sitcom “The Odd Couple.” Portly Durning hoofing, fleet of foot, and singing how “Ewwwww, I love to do a little sidestep” in the film “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.” Each was a luminous display of the extraordinary possibilities of the ordinary.

Klugman and Durning (both of whom died Monday, Klugman at 90 in Los Angeles, Durning at 89 in New York) spent storied careers building catalogues of roles that classed them indisputably as “character actors.”

Even with a certain “always-a-bridesmaid-never-a-bride” taint attached to it, the term “character actor” commands respect and affection among audiences, even audience members who may not quite realize their level of investment in such artistry.

Meatless Mondays? Good Freaking grief! The things that small minds come up with. Maggies Notebook is as amazed at the stupidity as I am

Yes ladies and gentlemen all you have to do is “Pledge” to give up eating meat on Mondays.  Right now it is voluntary but give these assholes enough time and it will be mandatory with stiff fines.

From the City Council that declared war on trans-fats and fast-food restaurants comes the latest way to make residents feel, well, guilty about what they eat.

The Los Angeles council, in a 14-0 vote on Friday, adopted a resolution urging residents to adopt a personal pledge to have a “meatless Monday.”

While it does not have the force of law and police will not be checking what you brought to work for lunch, city officials said they hope it will start a trend, make residents healthier and reduce the impact on the environment.

“This follows the `good food’ agenda we recently adopted supporting local, sustainable food choices,” said Councilwoman Jan Perry, who has called for a ban on new fast-food restaurants in South Los Angeles to fight obesity.

“We can reduce saturated fats and reduce the risk of heart disease by 19 percent,” Perry said. “While this is a symbolic gesture, it is asking people to think about the food choices they make. Eating less meat can reverse some of our nation’s most common illnesses.”

Councilman Ed Reyes, who joined with Perry in proposing the resolution, said one of his sons has been diagnosed with diabetes.

“The issue is how does a local municipality engage in this and how do we create change,” Reyes said. “If we do it one plate at time, one meal, one day, we are ratcheting down the impact on our environment. We start with one day a week and then, who knows, maybe we can change our habits for a lifetime.”

The proposal was developed by the Food Policy Council, which has a goal of “creating more and better food jobs” and encouraging food companies and small food enterprises as part of a bigger agenda to encourage healthy foods in the city.

Los Angeles To Give Illegal Aliens ID Cards To Help Them Access Taxpayer-Funded Services

Los Angeles To Give Illegal Immigrants ID Cards To Help Them Access Taxpayer-Funded Services – Weasel Zippers

Via Judicial Watch:

Los Angeles could soon be the latest of several cities across the nation to make life easier for illegal immigrants by offering them official photo identification cards to help them access taxpayer-funded services and open bank accounts.

It’s a necessary measure to help illegal aliens incorporate into civic life, according to lawmakers in the city of about 4 million. Nearly half of L.A. residents are of Hispanic or Latino origin, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, and a chunk are in the U.S. illegally. One L.A. councilman told a local newspaper that the ID cards will allow illegal aliens “who have been living in the shadows to be out in the day of light.”

So this week a council committee unanimously approved a measure that allows the city to solicit proposals from potential vendors who would implement the ID card program. This, of course, means it’s going to cost taxpayer a chunk of change. The full council must now approve it, but that will be a breeze in the City of Angels. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, a renowned open borders advocate, is ready to sign the law. In fact, the idea came from him.

A self-described Chicano mayor, Villaraigosa is a longtime member of an extremist Mexican group (Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan – Mecha) that claims seven states in the southwestern U.S. were stolen from Mexico and must be re conquered and reclaimed for Mexico. He played a key role in his city’s huge and disruptive pro illegal immigration marches a few years ago and encouraged massive student walkouts that cost the area’s beleaguered public school system nearly $1 million.

Sage Stallone, son of Sylvester Stallone dead at 36

15 Jul

Awful news, our thoughts and prayers for the family

There were no signs of foul play or trauma in the death of Sage Stallone, whose sudden passing at the age of 36 left his father Sylvester Stallone devastated, a publicist and investigators said.

Sage Stallone was found unresponsive in his Los Angeles home Friday by an employee and a relative, and police arrived and confirmed Sage Stallone was dead, Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said.

Boy, Bob Belvedere is going to get called a Homophobe for this post!

11 Jul

Bob Belvedere is not happy about the duds, and I mean DUDS, Team USA Olympic athletes are going to be sporting next month in London.  I must say, these clothes look ridiculous, in fact these get ups are even more wimpy, and yes, Bob, Gay, than those sweater vests Santorum wore during the campaign. The fact is Bob, who I never knew was  fashionista is right in his critique. I mean  look at these awful clothes.

From the New York Post, David Li and Andy Soltis reporting, we learn [tip of the fedora to the Drudge Report]:

Our Olympic heroes will be headed off to London this month — looking as if they’re decked out for a Hamptons lawn party.

Ralph Lauren yesterday unveiled the preppy parade uniforms that Team USA members will wear at the July 27 opening ceremony, stirring an uproar over pricey duds fit for a regatta.

The outfits include blue blazers, cream-colored trousers, white skirts — and berets.

“2012 US Olympic team is wearing berets. Really? America?” tweeted John Lee Rudnicki, a Los Angeles entertainment lawyer. “How many people in the US have you ever seen wear a beret? Five?”

“What the France?” tweeted Greg “Hollea” Rachal, a political activist and former Jacksonville, Fla., City Council candidate.

The company said the outfits embody “the spirit of American athleticism and sportsmanship.”

They embody the spirit of an America gone gay.

Yep, that last line is going to buy Belvedere some grief. I would have used the term douchetastic myself, but, Bob is his own guy.

But, I am not sure that many Gay people would dress like this! I mean these poor people look as if they are rejects from An Old Navy TV spot.

Los Angeles School Fires Entire Staff After Teachers ‘Sexually Abused Students And Fed Them Semen’

Los Angeles School Fires Entire Staff After Teachers ‘Sexually Abused Students And Fed Them Semen’ – Daily Mail

Faced with a shocking case of a teacher accused of playing classroom sex games with children for years, Los Angeles schools Superintendent John Deasy delivered another jolt: He removed the school’s entire staff – from custodians to the principal – to smash what he called a ‘culture of silence.’

‘It was a quick, responsible, responsive action to a heinous situation,’ he said. ‘We’re not going to spend a long time debating student safety.’

The controversial decision underscores the 51-year-old superintendent’s shake-up of the lethargic bureaucracy at the nation’s second-largest school district. His swift, bold moves have rankled some and won praise from others during his first year of leadership.

Taking action: Los Angeles’ school district’s Superintendent John Deasy has fired a school’s entire staff after a teacher was accused of playing classroom sex games with children for years

Misconduct: It was at Miramonte Elementary school, pictured, a teacher was accused of lewd acts on children in Mr Deasy’s first year on the job

Hired with a mandate to boost achievement in the 660,000-pupil Los Angeles Unified School District, Deasy has become known for 18-hour days that involve everything from surprise classroom visits and picking up playground litter to lobbying city elite for donations and blasting Sacramento politicians over funding cuts.

He’s also gained a reputation for outspokenness and a brisk decision-making style some have criticized as heavy-handed. Earlier this year, for instance, Deasy ordered a substitute teacher fired after finding students doing busy work.

‘I’m intolerant when it comes to students being disrespected,’ he said in an interview sandwiched between school visits and meetings. ‘I do what I think is right and everyone has the right to criticize. You appreciate the critics, but you wouldn’t get up in the morning if you listened to them.’

Doing what he thinks is right has put him in some unusual positions, such as siding with plaintiffs who successfully sued the district over closely protected teachers’ union tenets – seniority-based layoff policies and leaving out student test scores in teacher performance evaluations.

Emotional allegations: A student at the elementary school holds a poster during a rally in May, just after former teacher Mark Berndt was accused of blindfolding students and spoon feeding them his semen

‘He acts on behalf of kids, you can’t fault him for that,’ said A.J. Duffy, the former president of the teachers union United Teachers Los Angeles, who now runs a charter school. ‘But there are processes. People do deserve a fair and equitable hearing.’

As the school year was ending last month, Deasy was focused on hiring 80 new principals; particularly at troubled urban high schools some have called ‘dropout factories.’ Deasy pushed 50 current principals to retire or transferred them and he aims to interview replacement candidates himself. Developing leadership is a cornerstone of his reform strategy.

Deasy moves at a rapid clip, whether it’s through the candidate lists, his reform agenda or in striding around school campuses. ‘Keeping up with Dr. Deasy’ is a well-worn joke around the district.

Weeding teachers: Two teachers arrested in February on sexual allegations at the school were Martin B. Springer, left, and Mark Berndt

He is under a tight, self-imposed, deadline to get reforms in place in four years and see higher test scores, graduation rates and other education metrics in eight years.

‘The culture in this district has been talk, protest, argue, not actually do,’ he said. ‘This style has come up against that.’

School board President Monica Garcia applauds Deasy’s speed. ‘People are feeling very confident in his leadership,’ she said.

The urgency of his mission drives Deasy.

He’s up at 3:30 a.m., goes for a run and reads emails and the news before starting office meetings at 5:30 a.m. His wiry frame, topped with a crewcut, emphasizes that meals are often a luxury unless connected with work – he keeps energy bars in an office drawer. A recent lunch consisted of frozen yogurt.

All eyes: Seen in February, the scandal placed an enormous spotlight on the school with nearly two dozen children accused as victims

Temporary fix: In February Mr Deasy announced that the entire teaching staff of Miramonte Elementary School would be temporarily relocated in the wake of the sexual abuse scandal

He works through much of the weekend, too, although he reserves Sunday nights for Patty, his wife of 27 years. The couple has three grown children who live in the Los Angeles area.

Deasy is not concerned about burnout, but he worries about getting engulfed in pessimism. ‘It’s 101 per cent negativity all the time,’ he said.

So when there’s good news, he revels in it. He ticks off recent increases in language proficiency rates for English learners, and declines in dropouts and suspensions.

He hopes to see more results from new policies he’s pushed through, including giving teachers and principals more autonomy and more rigorous graduation requirements.

Once a week, his driver takes him on a round of unannounced visits to a few of the 1,000-plus schools, a source of both inspiration and exasperation as he moseys around corridors alone, introducing himself to students as ‘Dr. D.’

Working man: Seen touring one of his district’s 1,000-plus schools, Mr Deasy is said to work 18-hour work days striving to boost both student and teacher achievement

New rules: New policies the superintendent, pictured, has put in place include giving teachers and principals more autonomy and more rigorous graduation requirements

There’s no idle chitchat. Deasy fires questions about grades or graduation at students and enrolment or staffing at administrators.

He gets advice on managing an organization with a $6 billion budget and 65,000 employees from his executive coach, Kevin Sharer, the former chief executive of Amgen, the world’s largest biotech company.

However, there was nothing to prepare him for the case of Miramonte Elementary School teacher Mark Berndt, who has pleaded not guilty to accusations of feeding students cookies smeared with his semen in ‘tasting games.’

Deasy’s removal of the school’s staff resulted in protests by parents and a raft of union grievances. The teachers, who were warehoused at another location, may now return to the classroom at Miramonte or another school, Deasy said.

Deasy also ordered principals to pull teacher misconduct files from the past 40 years. Those files are under reviewed by a special panel to determine if further action is warranted. Some 500 previously unreported cases have been forwarded so far to the state teacher licensing commission.

Struggle: Seen at a June graduation, Mr Deasy’s district is struggling despite his hard efforts with them losing $2.7 billion in state funding and laying off 12,000 employees over the past five years

Teachers union President Warren Fletcher lambasted the move as a hasty and counterproductive effort to deflect attention from managerial failures.

Fiscal issues loom as the district’s greatest challenge. The district has lost $2.7 billion in state funding and laid off 12,000 employees over the past five years. For the upcoming school year, 4,300 employees lost their jobs, and the rest agreed to 10 furlough days, including five fewer school days, to close a $390 million shortfall.

‘He got handed a pretty rough plate,’ said Charles Kerchner, education professor at Claremont Graduate University. ‘The whole district is sort of teetering financially.’

Deasy has formed a foundation, The Los Angeles Fund for Public Education, to seek private donors.

‘That a city this size and this wealthy does not invest more philanthropically in its public education, that, to me, has been pretty amazing,’ he said.

Never stops: Mr Deasy poses with an honor guard during a graduation ceremony in June, all part of a six to seven-day work week for him having a district of 660,000-pupils to tend to

Deasy hadn’t planned to pursue an education career. The son of two Massachusetts teachers, he aimed to be a doctor but couldn’t afford medical school. He wanted to get married so he became a science teacher and found his calling.

He quickly ascended the career ladder, serving as superintendent at school districts in Rhode Island, California and Maryland before taking a job with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation where he worked on policy issues, including teacher evaluations.

He jumped at the chance to go to LAUSD, a district that is 73 per cent Latino and 80 per cent low income. One of his motivations is working to offer privileges afforded him, a white male, to others. Pictures of Cesar Chavez, Martin Luther King Jr. and a Barack Obama ‘Hope’ poster decorate his office.

‘This is where it matters,’ he said. ‘Delivering opportunities to kids.’

On a recent visit to Esteban Torres High School in East Los Angeles, two seniors inform him they are the first in their families to graduate high school. Both said they plan to pursue criminal justice studies at community college.

A wide smile breaks out on Deasy’s face as he congratulates them heartily. ‘You see these men,’ he said later. ‘It’s what keeps you going.’

Kings stun Devils in OT again, take 2-0 series lead

Stanley Cup, on display at the Hockey Hall of ...

The LA Kings just keep rolling along, winning their 10th straight road game in the 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs, and now they are just two wins from their ultimate goal.

The Los Angeles Kings are headed back to Hollywood, and the Stanley Cup is so close they don’t even want to think about it.

Jeff Carter scored at 13:42 in overtime and the Kings moved within two wins of their first NHL title with a 2-1 victory over the New Jersey Devils in Game 2 of the finals on Saturday night.

“We’re happy that we got the first two. But going home on the plane tonight, we’re trying to forget about those games. We’re going to learn what we did right and wrong. But going back home, it’s a whole new series.”

Not really. Two more wins by Los Angeles and the NHL season is over.

The Devils face the daunting task of trying to win four of five against a team that is 14-2 in the postseason.

“They are a great team, but it’s not like we got blown out the last two games,” Devils captainZach Parise said. “It will be really hard but we will give it our best shot.”

With two more wins, the Kings can finish writing the most unlikely championship story in NHL history, no 8 seed has ever won the Stanley Cup

So it comes down to this the #8 seed out of the West and the #6 seed from the East!

NEWARK, N.J. – Adam Henrique scored off a wild scramble in front at 1:03 into overtime and the New Jersey Devils defeated the New York Rangers 3-2 to advance to their first Stanley Cup finals since 2003.

The Devils will face the Los Angeles Kings for the Cup in a series that will start on Wednesday.

It’s a remarkable comeback for a team that missed the playoffs last season for the first time since 1996.

Thunder rally puts Lakers on edge

20 May

The Thunder outscored the Lakers 32-20 in the final frame and took a 3-1 series lead Saturday night.

LOS ANGELES – Russell Westbrook scored 10 of his 37 points during a stirring fourth-quarter comeback, Kevin Durant added 31 points and hit the tiebreaking 3-pointer with 13.7 seconds left, and the Oklahoma City Thunder seized control of the second-round series with a 103-100 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 4 on Saturday night.

Serge Ibaka scored 14 points for the second-seeded Thunder, who took a 3-1 series lead and moved to the brink of their second straight trip to the Western Conference finals.

Oklahoma City improved to 7-1 in the postseason with a tenacious rally on the second night of back-to-back games against the Lakers and Kobe Bryant, who scored 38 points in Los Angeles’ fifth loss in seven games overall.

The Thunder finished Game 4 on a 22-8 run, punctuated by Durant’s 3-pointer and two late free throws from James Harden, who had 12 points.

Give it to San Antonio, the Spurs are on  a roll, and the Clippers are relegated to looking towards next season

LOS ANGELES – Tim Duncan scored 19 points, helping engineer a 24-0 run in the third quarter after the Spurs trailed by 24 points earlier, and San Antonio defeated the Los Angeles Clippers96-86 on Saturday to take a commanding 3-0 lead in their second-round playoff series.

Tony Parker added 23 points, rookie Kawhi Leonard scored 14 and Manu Ginobili had 13 to help the top-seeded Spurs win their 17th in a row and improve to 7-0 in the playoffs.

Kings broom the Blues 3-1

6 May

The LA Kings almost missed the Stanley Cup Playoffs but they made them. They were given little chance against the Canucks, who they whipped in five games. Then they were likely written off by most against the Blues, who they just swept away. Now the Kings await the winner of Phoenix and Nashville, Phoenix leads 3 games to 1, in the Western Conference finals.

Dustin Brown scored two goals, Jonathan Quick made 23 saves, and the eighth-seeded Los Angeles Kings finished an improbable four-game sweep of the St. Louis Blues with a 3-1 victory Sunday, advancing to the conference finals for just the second time in club history.

Rookie Jordan Nolan scored an early goal for the Kings, the first team in recent NHL history to eliminate their conference’s top two seeds in the same postseason.

After steamrolling top-seeded Vancouver and second-seeded St. Louis with eight wins in nine games, the Kings will face the winner of Phoenix’s series with Nashville in the Western Conference finals.

I will remind Adrienne not to get too upset over this

Okay – my outrage meter just went up…

about 1000 notches.

What kind of woman proudly declares her desire to kill her own baby and demands that you pay for it?  This is one of the most disturbing things I’ve witnessed in a long time.  Sad and pathetic women acting out their part as useful idiots…

Just remember Adrienne, these are not real women, they are Feminuts!

Spurs, Lakers roll in openers

29 Apr

San Antonia routed Utah 106-91 and LA romped over Denver 103-88 in the opening games of their respective NBA Playoff series

SAN ANTONIO — This was not another early playoff letdown by the San Antonio Spurs. For the first time in four years, they won a series opener.

But more important to them was Tony Parker looking like his old postseason self.

Putting together his best playoff game since 2009, Parker scored 28 points and the top-seeded Spurs erased four years of putting themselves in 0-1 holes to start the playoffs, beating the Utah Jazz 106-91 in Game 1 of their first-round series Sunday.

LOS ANGELES – Kobe Bryant scored 31 points, Andrew Bynum posted the Lakers’ first playoff triple-double in 21 years with an NBA postseason record-tying 10 blocked shots, and Los Angeles thoroughly controlled the tempo in a playoff-opening 103-88 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Sunday.

Bynum, the Lakers’ All-Star center coming off his best regular season, also had 10 points and 13 rebounds while incredibly blocking 11 percent of the Nuggets’ 90 shots.

Yep, it is official, California has become Marxifornia

20 Apr

What a sad state of affairs CalMarxifornia has become. The state’s leadership, and I hate using the word leadership to describe the buffoons in charge in that state, are dead set on taking that formerly  great state into some Orwellian Hell. Smitty looks at the states latest campaign of inanity multi-family housing

Are California’s marijuana dispensaries putting out some great product, or what?

Smart growth on steroids, or the radical densification policy of California, was the subject of my recent commentary in The Wall Street Journal — “California Declares War on Suburbia”. Regional transportation plans in the San Francisco Bay Area, the Los Angeles area and the San Diego area seek to force the vast majority of new residents in future decades into multi-family housing. Under the state’s greenhouse gas emissions reduction law (Assembly Bill 32) and its companion urban planning law (Senate Bill 375), it will be nearly impossible to build new detached housing. This is despite the fact that 80 percent additions to the housing stock in California’s major metropolitan areas was detached between 2000 and 2010.

Odd isn’t it? Once again we see why Liberalism is an ideology of convenience. Liberals can rail all day and into the night about a “right to privacy”, and then support housing that would just about make privacy, well, impossible.  Maybe that right to privacy only applies to killing the unborn? This is yet another blow to Individualism, which is the one thing the Left loathes above anything else. Smitty sums up what he, and I think is really behind this

My guess is that California’s powers-that-snort have determined that having privacy encourages subversive thoughts of liberty, maturity, and independence among residents. What a failed state.

BINGO! Also from Smitty, if California was a hair style
