You can call Chris Matthews anything you want — “dimwitted political hack” would be entirely appropriate — but please don’t insult an entire profession by calling Chris Matthews a “journalist.”

On March 30, Kaufman County, Texas, district attorney Mike McLelland and his wife were shot to death at their home. Five days later, Chris Matthews invited Mark Potok of the Southern Poverty Law Center onto MSNBC to promote speculation that McLelland’s murder was committed by the Aryan Brotherhood prison gang.

In other words, the important thing about this crime — the thing that made it worth eight minutes of national network air time — was that it gave Chris Matthews a chance to stoke the paranoia of MSNBC viewers with the bogeyman specter of dangerously violent racists who (as all MSNBC viewers know) are the core constituency of the Republican Party.

Of course, as is often the case, Matthews jumped to conclusions. In this case he wanted any excuse to bash Senator Ted Cruz and any other Republican to oppose Dear Leader’s Leftist agenda. And, again, Matthews got it completely WRONG!

Fast-forward 11 days, and Chris Matthews is completely discredited by the latest headlines:

What? It wasn’t scary white supremacists highlighted in an eight-minute MSNBC segment? Nobody that Mark Potok warned us about? Not even a Tea Party member? No, a disgraced lawyer with a personal grudge:

And of course, now that the truth is out, Matthews will not man up and correct his fantasy will he? Hell no! Like many leftists, Matthews makes wild accusations to smear people he disagrees with, and when he is proven wrong? He just moves on to the next smear. That is what is most fascinating about Leftist walk behinders like Obamagasm Boy Matthews. The thought never occurs to them that if they must resort to lying to win an argument, then they are on the wrong side of life. Maybe it would be more fitting to say that Matthews is on the wrong side of reality.

Speaking of being on the wrong side of reality. Look at the screen cap Stacy got of Crazy legs and Potok The guy honestly looks like the guy who gets cut off at noon at your local dive bar, you know the guy, he will buy you a drink the “next time” if you get him one today. He is also the douche nozzle who demands the bartender pour him a “good shot”, when he never ever tips.

MSNBC’s Chris Matthews said Friday that the National Rifle Association wants “guns on demand, like you’re buying a Hershey bar.”

“That’s the way they want to do it, guns on demand, like you’re buying a Hershey bar. That’s it. It’s a Hershey bar. I think I’d like one. I’m going to try that. You know, no background check? What are you, crazy? Okay, that’s the hideous argument they make, check out the guy that’s going to guard the kids, but don’t check out the guy who’s buying the gun to go after the kids,” Matthews said referring to the NRA.

Is this buffoon actually saying the NRA does not want checks on people buying guns to shoot up schools? Good grief he will say anything. Matthews stopped being anything remotely resembling a a journalist long ago. He is now nothing more than a deranged second-rate shock jock.

Actually Chris, it was the NRA that got background checks in place to begin with. You Cannot buy a gun from a gun dealer without undergoing a background check. Very few people who fail those checks ever get prosecuted, which the NRA points out often.

Matthews is nothing more than THAT drunk asshole at the end of the bar now. You know the guy. Sloppy drunk, mumbling incoherently, and asking everyone to buy him a shot. Except Matthews is not even drunk on the air. He does not find his inner asshole in a bottle. Matthews comes by his naturally.

MSNBC host Chris Matthews and two guests on Wednesday investigated what they identified as strains of homophobia, xenophobia, and racism within the tea party. One of the guests was a filmmaker who is investigating the phenomenon of African-American conservatives who sympathize with the tea party. Matthews was vexed by the existence of black conservatives. He expressed surprise that African-Americans, who were dependent on the federal government for civil rights legislation, would support an ideology that backs state’s rights.

Matthews opened the segment congratulating MSNBC for their efforts at trying to show “the real face of the tea party” which he said was characterized by racial rhetoric and outright racist imagery.

“My study suggests that there is a strain of racism in the tea party,” said University of Washington assistant professor Christopher Parker. “There’s definitely a racist strain, but it goes beyond racism. It goes to homophobia and xenophobia as well, Chris.”

Matthews asked if tea partiers longed for a “dreamy nostalgia” of a time when there were “no gays, where blacks were slaves, where Mexicans were in Mexico.”

I think Matthews and his cohorts here, Joan Walsh, and David Corn really should head up Hillary 2016. Let these Left Wing fruitcakes be the “brains” and faces of her campaign

 

Matthews replied, “If you’re watching, Madam Secretary, all three of us have brilliant ideas. All of us have great ideas. And I especially put myself in that group with Joan and David. We know how to do this, we’ll get you in there.”

Although there may have been a little tongue in Matthews’ cheek, everyone watching knew full well that he meant it, and that his mission in the next 44 months – as well as that of likely every MSNBC contributor and guest – is to get Clinton in the White House.

Joan Walsh, David Corn, and Crazy legs Matthews have “brilliant ideas”? More like delusions of competence. These three could not think their way out of a wet paper bag.

Minutes after Paul Ryan finished his RNC speech on Wednesday, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews slammed the Republican vice presidential candidate for supposedly ignoring blacks during his “very constricted, very negative, very nasty speech,” and suggested that he was directing the address to racists: “It’s clear that Paul Ryan was talking to people who think about rights as something…produced by Thomas Jefferson, ignoring the people for whom the rights only came in the 1960s.”

Wow! This guy is redefining unhinged on a daily basis. I expect that soon we will see Matthews, in a straighjacket doing his show from a dark cellar and chanting that Chicago is a RAAAAACIST  word!

Matthews then demonstrates his mind-numbing ability to take an idiotic statement, amplify it, and subsequently make it exponentially more idiotic coming from his mouth, when he said this:

“Yea, well let me ask you about that gentleman.  What about now, is this constant barrage of assaults, saying the guy is basically playing an old game of demagoguery politics, where you take the money from the worker bees and give it to the poor people to buy votes.  That’s basically what they’re charging him with. Old big-style, big-city machine of 50 years ago.”

He added, “They keep saying Chicago by the way, have you noticed?  They keep saying Chicago.  That’s another thing that sends that message – this guy’s helping the poor people in the bad neighborhoods, screwing us in the ‘burbs.”

Hielemann helpfully interpreted Matthews statement, presumably for those too challenged to understand basic words (or as we in the business refer to them – Hardball viewers), by making this jaw-dropping statement:

“There’s a lot of black people in Chicago.”

Maybe MSNBS can replace Matthews, and any guests with Eric Cartman of South Park

Good Gief! And I might remind Matthews that it is HIS network that refused to carry many speeches by Black Republicans like Mia Love.

In lieu of airing speeches from former Democratic Rep. Artur Davis, a black American; Mia Love, a black candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives from Utah; and Texas senatorial hopeful Ted Cruz, a Latino American, MSNBC opted to show commentary anchored by Rachel Maddow from Rev. Al Sharpton, Ed Schultz, Chris Matthews, Chris Hayes and Steve Schmidt.

Throughout this convention, Matthews has accused the Republicans of playing dog-whistle racist politics while on scene in Tampa. It isn’t clear, however, if Matthews will hurl accusations of racism at Davis, Love or Cruz for speeches his network failed to broadcast.

All of this begs the question. Was Chris Matthews crazy before his legs had their first Obamagasm? Or did all those Obamagasms make him nuttier than a truckload of fruitcakes?

Does watching Chris Matthews make people stupid? Or do you have to be stupid to watch Chris Matthews?

The same thing might apply to chronic Chris Matthews viewers. How else to account for his having any audience at all, however miniscule? I watched the two clips that are going around (here andhere) and almost felt sorry for this pathetic man who has been given a microphone for no apparent reasons other than his penchant for talking rudely over his guests and his rabid liberalism. Stacy McCain on that:

In case you didn’t realize it, the only claim Matthews has to being a journalist is that he is a partisan Democrat. Matthews never worked a day as a reporter, never covered a city council meeting or a homecoming parade. After evading the Vietnam-era military draft by enrolling in the Peace Corps, Matthews moved to Washington and worked on the staff of various congressional Democrats before unsuccessfully running for Congress as a Democrat, later joining the White House staff as a speechwriter for Democrat Jimmy Carter, then spending the Reagan years as a top aide to Democrat House Speaker Tip O’Neill. Somehow, this ultra-political background as a partisan operative qualified Matthews for the job of Washington bureau chief for the San Francisco Chronicle. Such is the biography of the man who has been employed for the past 15 years as a “journalist” by NBC, hosting his own show on the network’s little-watched MSNBC cable franchise while appearing regularly on the broadcast network during coverage of major political events.

Matthews is a punch line to a bad joke, as is his network. He has an opinion show, I get that, so objectivity is not something I expect from him. But he is so intellectually dishonest, and vacuous that people only watch because they are as demented as Matthews and actually believe his race baiting rants, or to laugh as they watch the train wreck that IS Hardball. Every night Matthews, and the rest of the hosts on MSNBS haul in some intellectually bankrupt Leftist windbag to explore some left-wing fantasy or another. Usually, it is to try to paint the GOP as RAAAAACIST, and sexist, and backwards, and blah, blah, blah. And they never fail to delve deeper into absurdity each day.

That is the only reason to watch, unless you are some reality-deprived Leftist tool of course. I call MSNBS the Tree of Low-Hanging Blogging Fruit because you can find material there in almost endless supply. And, as the campaign draws towards November, they are just going to become more unhinged

In an appearance on MSNBC’s “Hardball” on Monday from the Republican National Convention, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich took on host Chris Matthews, who accused the Republican Party of playing the “race card” throughout the day on MSNBC.

Gingrich turned the tables on Matthews, asking: “Why do you assume ‘food stamp’ refers to black? What kind of racist thinking do you have? Why are you being a racist, because you assume he’s referring to black?”

In a testy exchange, Matthews asked Gingrich why his party was using what he deemed coded racist dog whistles.

“I find your assumption so absurd that it’s hard to answer your question,” Gingrich responded. “Let me take the birther thing for a second — what Mitt Romney did the other day, people say, ‘You ought to relax, you ought to be a little bit lighter’. So he tells a joke. Now, it tends to be a joke that serves him in a totally different way that you’re calculating. It reminds everybody in Michigan that he was born in Michigan.”

But Matthews wouldn’t back down from his premise.

“You know, it’s amazing how — you know how African-Americans generally, at least people who have emailed me in the last couple of hours, how they react to this?” Matthews said. “Do you understand they have a reaction? They think this is racial talk. That this whole thing about welfare cheats is relentless stuff.”

So should the outrage of a liberal talk radio host Thaddeus Mathews’ racist comment.  Matthews’ browbeat black GOP Congressional candidate Charlotte Bergmann, repeatedly swore at her and kicked her out of his studio.  When she offered her hand,  he refused to shake it, saying he didn’t want any of her whiteness to rub off on her.
