Yet Another Democrat Politician Taken Away In Handcuffs (Video)

After Only 115 Days In Office Charlotte Democrat Mayor Arrested, Faces 20 Years In Prison – Gateway Pundit

That didn’t take long…

After only 115 days in office, Democrat Charlotte Mayor Arrested, Faces 20 Years In Prison

Democrat Mayor Patrick D. Cannon is accused of bribery and extortion.

.

.
CNN reported:

FBI agents on Wednesday arrested the mayor of Charlotte, North Carolina, for allegedly taking tens of thousands of dollars worth of bribes “in exchange for the use of his official position,” the U.S. attorney’s office said.

Patrick D. Cannon, 47, faces federal charges of theft and bribery concerning programs receiving federal funds, honest services wire fraud and extortion under color of official right, according to a press release from U.S. Attorney Anne Tompkins of western North Carolina.

The Charlotte mayor’s office declined a CNN request for comment. However, CNN obtained a copy of Cannon’s resignation letter, sent to City of Charlotte Manager Ron Carlee and City Attorney Bob Hagemann.

“I hereby give notice of my resignation from the position of the Mayor of the City of Charlotte, effective immediately. In light of the charges that have been brought against me, it is my judgment that the pendency of these charges will create too much of a distraction for the business of the City to go forward smoothly and without interruption,” Cannon wrote in the letter.

Commie Mayor De Blasio Caught Running Stop Signs After Announcing Crackdown On Dangerous Driving

Mayor De Blasio’s SUV Caught On Camera Running Two Stop Signs And Speeding just Days After He Announced Crackdown On Dangerous Driving – New York Daily News

.

.
It’s another tale of two cities – one set of traffic rules for Mayor de Blasio, and one for the rest of us.

Just two days after de Blasio announced a sweeping plan to crack down on dangerous driving, an SUV with the mayor riding shotgun ran stop signs, changed lanes without signaling and flouted the speed limit.

.

.
It was caught on camera by a WCBS-TV/Channel 2 news crew that trailed de Blasio’s official two-vehicle motorcade after he left a news conference in Queens Thursday touting the city’s pothole repair work.

The behavior was a far cry from de Blasio’s comments Tuesday when he announced his Vision Zero plan to end traffic deaths.

.

.
He proposed a slew of measures, including lowering the citywide speed limit and installing more cameras to catch drivers who speed and run red lights.

.

.
“We’ve put a very bold plan before you,” he said Tuesday, “and we want the public to know we’re holding ourselves to this standard and we intend to achieve these goals.”

Yet, on Thursday, his official black SUV blew through two stop signs in Queens and was clocked by Channel 2 traveling 40 to 45 mph in a 30 mph zone and pushing 60 in a 45 mph zone.

.

.
When he reached City Hall, the mayor lingered in his SUV, leaving the second car in his caravan unable to pass through the City Hall gate – blocking a crosswalk and an intersection.

.

.
If a driver had been ticketed for all the violations, he would have racked up 13 points on his license – more than the 11 that trigger a suspension, Channel 2’s Marcia Kramer reported.

It is not clear why the mayor was in a rush, but he is often behind schedule. His news conference in Queens began 15 minutes late.

While serving as the city’s public advocate, in 2010, de Blasio chose to drive himself, “often accelerating aggressively to beat yellow lights,” according to an account in The New York Times.

De Blasio’s press secretary, Phil Walzak, said, “We believe public safety is everyone’s responsibility. We also recognize NYPD’s training and protocols, and refer questions related to security and transportation to them. With that in mind, Mayor de Blasio is firmly committed to the traffic safety policies outlined this week.”

In a prepared statement, the Police Department said “personnel assigned to the mayor’s security detail receive specialized training in driving based on maintaining security as well as safety.”

“At certain times, under certain conditions, this training may include… maintaining speed with the general flow of traffic, and may sometimes include tactics to safely keep two or more police vehicles together in formation when crossing intersections.”

‘Chocolate City’ Mayor Ray Nagin Found Guilty Of 20 Counts Of Corruption

Ex-New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin Found Guilty Of Corruption – Fox News

A jury convicted former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin Wednesday on 20 of 21 federal corruption counts, including bribery, marking a stunning fall for the feisty official who gained a national profile following Hurricane Katrina.

.

.
The 57-year-old Democrat, who led his city through the aftermath of the 2005 storm, was found guilty of charges that he accepted bribes, free trips and other gratuities from contractors in exchange for helping them secure millions of dollars in city work while he was in office.

He will remain free on bond while he awaits sentencing. Each of the charges carries a sentence from three to 20 years, but how long he would serve was unclear and will depend on a pre-sentence investigation and various sentencing guidelines. No sentencing date was set.

Nagin sat quietly at the defense table after the verdict was read and his wife, Seletha, was being consoled in the front row. Before the verdict, he said outside the New Orleans courtroom: “I’ve been at peace with this for a long time. I’m good.”

Nagin, who left office in 2010 after eight years, was indicted in January 2013 on charges he accepted hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes and truckloads of free granite for his family business in exchange for promoting the interests of local businessman Frank Fradella.

He also was charged with accepting thousands of dollars in in payoffs from another businessman, Rodney Williams, for his help in securing city contracts.

Nagin is best remembered for his impassioned pleas for help after levees broke during Hurricane Katrina, flooding much of New Orleans and plunging the city into chaos.

Nagin testified that key witnesses lied and prosecutors misinterpreted evidence including emails, checks and pages from his appointment calendar linking him to businessmen who said they bribed him.

The defense repeatedly said prosecutors overstated Nagin’s authority to approve contracts. His lawyer said there is no proof money and material given to the granite business owned by Nagin and his sons was tied to city business.

The charges against Nagin included one overarching conspiracy count along with six counts of bribery, nine counts of wire fraud, one count of money laundering conspiracy and four counts of filing false tax returns. He was acquitted of one of the bribery counts.

Each charges carries a sentence from 3 to 20 years, but how long he would serve was unclear and will depend on a pre-sentence investigation and various sentencing guidelines. No sentencing date was set.

Prosecutors say he took hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of bribes including money, free travel and granite for Stone Age LLC, a family granite business.

They allege the corruption spanned the time before and after Hurricane Katrina struck in August 2005.

The charges resulted from a City Hall corruption investigation that had resulted in several convictions or guilty pleas by former Nagin associates by the time trial started on Jan. 27.

Fradella and Williams, both awaiting sentencing for their roles in separate bribery schemes alleged in the case, each testified that they bribed Nagin.

Nagin’s former technology chief, Greg Meffert, who also is awaiting sentencing after a plea deal, told jurors he helped another businessman, Mark St. Pierre, bribe Nagin with lavish vacation trips. St. Pierre did not testify. He was convicted in the case in 2011.

Nagin said he did not to know his vacation trips to Jamaica and Hawaii were paid for by St. Pierre. He also said he wasn’t told that a family trip to New York was paid for by a movie theater owner who, prosecutors said, received help with a city tax issue after Katrina wiped out the theater.

Obama-Endorsed San Diego Mayoral Candidate Loses To Republican By Landslide

Republican Beats Obama-Endorsed San Diego Mayor Candidate In A Landslide – Right Scoop

.

.
Obama endorsed the Democrat a mere few days ago and polls showed it’s a tight race but here is how it worked out:

San Diego voters opted for a return to Republican leadership on Tuesday as they elected a city councilman backed by the downtown establishment to succeed ex-Mayor Bob Filner, a Democrat who resigned amid a torrent of sexual misconduct allegations.

Republican Kevin Faulconer garnered nearly 55 percent of the vote to defeat his City Council colleague, Democrat David Alvarez, who was vying to become San Diego’s first Hispanic mayor but finished the night with just over 45 percent.

Faulconer, 47, declaring victory at a downtown hotel, is expected to take the oath of office in early March to serve out the nearly three years that remained in Filner’s term as mayor of California’s second-most populous city.

Commie Lunatic Update: NYC Mayor De Blasio Wants To Close Public Schools For Muslim Holidays

Loony-Left NYC Mayor Bill De Blasio Wants To Close Public Schools For Muslim Holidays – Liberty Unyielding

How many Muslims does it take to close New York City Public Schools? The answer is 69,985 – roughly 21/2500 of the total population of the Big Apple – going by the most recent demographic breakdown (2000 Census).

.

.
The scant size of the Muslim community hasn’t deterred the city’s new absurdly liberal mayor, Bill de Blasio, from pushing to close city schools for two Muslim holidays and the Lunar New Year. The Daily News reports (h/t Weasel Zippers) that hizzoner appeared on WNYC’s “Brian Lehrer Show” on Monday, where he announced his plan to publicly observe the Muslim holy days of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, as well as the Islamic New Year, with school closures. Said the mayor:

It is complicated in terms of logistics and school calendar and budget. But it’s something I want to get done in a reasonable time frame.

Reactions were not solicited from the 99% of students who aren’t Muslim, though it is doubtful many of them will complain about extra days off from school. Their parents – especially those in families where both work and need to make special arrangement for school closures – are likely a different story.

Ditto for de Blasio’s predecessor, the extreme (but not nearly as extreme in hindsight) Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who opposed the change, saying kids should not miss more school.

Defenders of the move will point to the longstanding tradition of New York Public Schools closing for the Jewish “high holidays” of New Year and Yom Kippur, but Jews, who number around 1.1 million, make up 13% of the city’s population.

In the meantime, the city’s Hindu population, though not as “heavily” represented as Muslims, feels slighted that de Blasio hasn’t yet taken a firm position on whether schools should close for Diwali, the festival of lights. Dr. Shashi Shah of the Association of Indians in America is quoted as saying:

We are disappointed. We’ve been trying for a long time… It’s very important for the community.

Observers of Festivus have not weighed in.

Crack-Smoking Toronto Mayor Ticketed For Jaywalking And Public Drunkenness

He’s At It Again! Crack-Smoking Toronto Mayor Rob Ford Is Ticketed For Jaywalking And Public Drunkenness In Vancouver, Telling Police Officers He’d Thought They Were ‘Cooler’ On The West Coast – Daily Mail

Just as you thought things could not get any worse for Rob Ford, Toronto’s crack-smoking mayor was ticketed Friday night for jaywalking and public intoxication in Vancouver.

Canada’s most notorious public official was in town for the funeral of a family friend when he was stopped by police for crossing the street on a red light.

Eyewitness Ian Currie told Global News that he overheard the mayor tell police officers: ‘I f-ed up, boys… I thought it was looser on the West Coast, I thoughts you were cooler over here.’

.

.
The News reported that the mayor was walking on North Road when he was flagged by an officer outside a Shell gas station.

According to the news site, Ford, who has been battling drug and alcohol addiction, may have ducked into a nearby pub called Foggy Dew earlier in the evening.

Ford’s latest run-in with police drew a sizable crowd in Vancouver, with the hapless public servant pleading with onlookers not to take pictures of him because he is ‘going to get in a lot of trouble.’

The incident comes just days after the embattled mayor was named in a lawsuit filed by his sister’s ex-boyfriend for allegedly conspiring to have the man beaten in jail to prevent Ford’s illicit behaviors from becoming known.

A lawsuit submitted Wednesday by Scott MacIntyre alleges the mayor was behind an assault at a Toronto jail in March 2012 that was intended to keep MacIntrye quiet about Ford’s abuse of alcohol and drugs.

The lawsuit alleges MacIntrye was threatened with ‘dire consequences’ if he did not remain quiet. He was in jail after being charged with threatening the mayor, for saying he would expose his ‘unsavory activities,’ the lawsuit says.

.

.

.
MacIntrye alleges Ford conspired with Payman Aboodowleh, who coached football with Ford, to have one of their former players, who was also in jail at the time, to beat MacIntyre up.

Ford and Aboodowleh arranged for staff members at the Metro West Detention Centre to ‘ensure there was no supervision or surveillance of the area’ where the alleged assault occurred, the lawsuit says.

Ford’s lawyer, Dennis Morris, said the allegations are ‘without fact or foundation.’

When questioned further if the mayor had conspired in any way to harm MacIntyre, Morris said, ‘The answer is no.’

Ford offered no comment when reporters asked him about the lawsuit.

The mayor acknowledged last year that he had smoked crack, but he has rebuffed pressure to resign.

The lawsuit also names Ontario’s Ministry of Correctional Services, which is responsible for the province’s jails, Aboodowleh and Aedan Petros, the former football player who MacIntyre alleges attacked him.

Anti-Gun Democrat Mayor Jailed For Using Gun To Hold Gay Man He Had A Crush On Hostage (Video)

Anti-Gun Mayor Holds ‘Gay’ Crush Hostage With Gun – WorldNetDaily

.

.
A Pennsylvania mayor who has pushed for tougher gun-control laws is now going to jail after holding his homosexual crush hostage while armed with a gun.

Former Marcus Hook Mayor James Schiliro was sentenced to 10 to 20 months for an alcohol-fueled episode last February.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports Schiliro “had a police car bring a former neighbor – a 20-year-old to whom he said he was attracted – to his home, made him drink wine, and refused to let him leave for three and a half hours.”

Schiliro reportedly threatened to kill himself and fired a gun into a stack of papers during the incident. Eventually, the victim, Nicholas Dorsam, was able to leave and then called police.

“That night was a culmination of feelings which had built up over 25 years,” said Schiliro.

The former mayor told authorities he knew Dorsam as a teen and helped him as a mentor. Schiliro said he became attracted to Dorsam when the young man turned 20.

The Inquirer reports: “At the house that night in February, Schiliro told Dorsam he wanted to commit suicide. Then Dorsam talked about Schiliro’s daughter, who was asleep upstairs.”

“I was so drunk and so upset with myself for what I did, if Nick didn’t mention my daughter I would have killed myself,” Schiliro said. “That is the only thing that kept me from pulling the trigger.”

After the encounter, Schiliro sold the weapon, entered an alcohol-treatment program and underwent counseling.

He had been convicted in November of recklessly endangering another person, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment, official oppression, and furnishing liquor to a minor.

On Monday, 13 of Schiliro’s family and friends spoke on his behalf at the sentencing hearing.

They portrayed him as “a caring man who gave back to his community as mayor, helped create jobs, formed basketball and baseball leagues for the borough’s children, served as a volunteer firefighter, and was a good friend and father,” according to the Inquirer.

“I’ve seen him reach into his pocket and give people he didn’t know money when they needed it,” said Bill Cox, a friend who has known Schiliro for 15 years.

“This is really a case of a complex person with complex issues,” said Michael Malloy, Schiliro’s defense attorney, referring to his client’s acknowledged bisexuality.

Delaware County Court Judge James F. Nilon was not moved by pleas from Schiliro’s family and friends.

“I don’t think you appreciate the seriousness of the nature of the behavior that you engaged in,” Nilon said.

In addition to his jail time, Schiliro received five years of probation and 50 hours of community service, and was ordered to pay $1,300 in fines and court costs, and he’s eligible for work release and time off for good behavior.

As WND previously reported, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s “Mayors Against Illegal Guns” organization was revealed in the fall of 2012 to include a long list of mayors who, because of their convictions, were no longer eligible to own weapons themselves.

The Schiliro saga became another embarrassment for the organization.

“Mayor Schiliro is one more example of why we started the ‘Gun Owners Against Illegal Mayors’ campaign,” said Alan Gottlieb, the organization’s executive director.

“He joins recently convicted former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, and recently indicted former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin, both of whom were MAIG members.”

SAF launched its campaign last fall, and “the list keeps growing,” Gottlieb said.

“Schiliro’s case is not only bad, but bizarre,” Gottlieb explained at the time. “He’s been charged with false imprisonment, unlawful restraint, reckless endangerment, serving alcohol to a minor and other crimes, and he also allegedly used more than one gun in this incident, in which at least one shot was fired.

“The allegations against Schiliro creeped me out. With associates like this, I can understand why Bloomberg doesn’t trust people with guns,” Gottlieb said.

“According to published reports, Schiliro’s attorney says the mayor has sold his guns and entered alcoholism treatment, but this doesn’t get any traction with me. If the charges against this guy are proven in court, he deserves to have the book thrown at him, same as Mayor Bloomberg would demand if any other gun owner did what police and prosecutors think Schiliro did.

“It is amusing,” Gottlieb added, “that Schiliro – who signed an infamous letter to the U.S. Senate with 600 other mayors – has suddenly disappeared from the MAIG roster on that group’s website.

“Mayor Bloomberg should be more interested in the conduct of MAIG members than trying to pry into the personal lives of gun owners or soda drinkers,” he stated. “If anybody needs a background check, it would be a MAIG member.”

.

.
WND reported earlier on the SAF’s campaign about Bloomberg’s Mayors Against Illegal Guns, set up in 2006 by Bloomberg.

“Michael Bloomberg created this group to further his personal agenda of public disarmament,” Gottlieb explained at the time “But within the ranks of his organization, our research has found several politicians who have been convicted of various serious crimes, thus making it impossible for them to finish their terms.

“We discovered,” he said, “one mayor convicted of perjury and embezzlement, another who was convicted of attempted child molestation, and yet another who was convicted of assault and racketeering. There was one who was convicted on bribery, fraud and money laundering, and another who was convicted of domestic violence.

“In short,” Gottlieb said, “many of these elitist politicians can no longer own firearms. The crimes they were convicted of suggest they are public enemies rather than public servants. No wonder they want to take guns from law-abiding citizens!”

On April 25, 2006, 15 mayors worked with Bloomberg and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino to set up the organization to restrict guns.

An argument for armed self-defense, in “America Fights Back: Armed Self-Defense in a Violent Age.”

The group said it wanted to make cities safer by cracking down on illegal guns, because mayors “have a responsibility to protect their communities by holding gun offenders and irresponsible gun dealers accountable.”

They say they want trace data for law enforcement efforts, and they want lawmakers to fix gaps and loopholes in laws “that make it far too easy for criminals and other prohibited purchasers to get guns.”

The group boasts that it has grown to more than 725 mayors in 40 states.

But SAF is publicizing mayors who have run into their own troubles.

It launched its campaign in newspapers, magazines and on the Internet, revealing the criminal and ethical wrongdoings of many of the mayors themselves.

See the ad.

Gottlieb reported the research conducted by the foundation found “a far higher rate of criminal activity within the ranks of the MAIG than among the ranks of more than eight million citizens who are licensed to carry concealed firearms in 49 states.”

“While Michael Bloomberg has been campaigning to turn gun owners into criminals,” Gottlieb said, “the criminals in his own ranks were engaged in such activities as tax evasion , extortion, accepting bribes, child pornography, trademark counterfeiting and perjury. One was even convicted of assaulting a police officer.

“And these people have the audacity to smear law-abiding gun owners as potential criminals, simply because they exercise their constitutional right to keep and bear arms,” he concluded. “He should pay more attention to what his friends are up to than worry about the gun owners he’s been trying to demonize.”

.

.
The Second Amendment Foundation is the nation’s oldest and biggest group to focus on the constitutional right and heritage to privately own and possess firearms. Founded in 1974, the foundation has grown to more than 650,000 members and supporters. In addition to the precedent-setting McDonald v. Chicago Supreme Court Case, SAF has funded successful firearms-related suits against the cities of Los Angeles; New Haven, Conn.; New Orleans; Chicago; and San Francisco on behalf of American gun owners.

The organization also has been acting largely under the radar to fight unconstitutional firearms restrictions across the nation. Recently, it won its request for preliminary injunction against the New Mexico standard.

The injunction was handed down just days ago by District Judge M. Christina Armijo, who took action in the case of John Jackson, a permanent legal resident alien who could not obtain a concealed carry permit in the state.

The organization also announced it has filed a motion for injunctive relief in a related case in Nebraska. There, non-citizens legally living in the state are prohibited from obtaining a concealed carry permit.

The SAF fought and won the landmark McDonald v. Chicago Supreme Court Case that applied Second Amendment rights to individuals in states all across the nation.

Another recent battle for the SAF was in Alameda County, Calif., which changed the rules as three businessmen were trying to open a gun shop. The foundation successfully sued the county for allegedly violating the constitutional rights of three businessmen by wrongfully denying them permits to open a gun shop.

The foundation also recently argued a pair of California cities and the state’s Department of Justice improperly confiscated firearms during investigations and then refused to return them to their owners – even after the subjects of the inquiries were cleared.

Other cases the SAF has handled recently:

* SAF sued the state of California over a “vague” gun ban over a case in which a man twice was jailed and then cleared. The focal point is the definition of an “assault weapon.” The statute’s definition of weapons is so “vague and ambiguous,” the group contends, that one man was arrested on two different occasions for violations but ultimately cleared of any wrongdoing. “It’s an insult to be arrested once for violating a law that is so vague and ambiguous that law enforcement officers cannot tell the difference between what is and what is not a legal firearm under this statute,” said Gottlieb, “but to be arrested and jailed twice for the same offense is an outrage.”

* In New York, the organization has asked for a summary judgment that would strike New York City’s $340 triennial fee for just owning a handgun. The legal brief explains that under U.S. Supreme Court rulings “the right to keep a handgun in the home for self-defense is a part of the ‘core’ of the Second Amendment’s protections.” The case, brought by SAF, the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association and individuals including an electrical contractor, a paramedic, CPA and woodworker, argues, “The city’s $340 fee is inherently prohibitive and serves the impermissible purpose of discouraging the exercise of constitutional rights. While the city can charge a nominal fee to defray costs, the $340 fee is not nominal, and has never been calculated to defray costs.”

* The organization has sued New Jersey and officials and judges over procedures that allowed them to refuse firearms permits for a kidnap victim, a man who carries large amounts of cash for his business and a civilian FBI employee who fears attacks from radical Islamists. The permissions were denied on the grounds people had not shown a “justifiable need.” “Law-abiding New Jersey citizens have been arbitrarily deprived of their ability to defend themselves and their families for years under the state’s horribly crafted laws,” said an SAF spokesman. “The law grants uncontrolled discretion to police chiefs and other public officials to deny license applications even in cases where the applicant has shown a clear and present danger exists.”

* The SAF filed a case on behalf of an honorably discharged veteran from the Vietnam War and names as defendants Attorney General Eric Holder and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The case was filed in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia on behalf of Jefferson Wayne Schrader. The question is whether the state of Maryland can deprive an individual of the right to possess a weapon over a misdemeanor. Schrader had been convicted of misdemeanor assault relating to a fight involving a man who previously had assaulted him in Annapolis. But he was denied the opportunity to receive a shotgun as a gift or to purchase a handgun for personal protection.

* SAF filed a claim against Maryland for a man who alleged the state was violating the Second Amendment by refusing to renew his handgun permit. Raymond Woollard originally was issued a carry permit after a man broke into his home during a family event in 2002. Woollard’s permit was renewed in 2005 after the defendant in the case was released from prison. But state officials later refused to renew the permit, even though the intruder now lives some three miles from Woollard.

* SAF sued Westchester County, N.Y., because officials there were requiring that residents have a “good cause” to ask for a handgun permit. The federal lawsuit alleges the requirement conflicts with the U.S. Supreme Court ruling that the Second Amendment establishes a personal right to “keep and bear arms.” Individual plaintiffs in the case are Alan Kachalsky and Christina Nikolov, both Westchester County residents whose permit applications were denied.

Commie Mayor De Blasio Appoints Commie Occupy Wall Street Activist As City Council Speaker

Bill De Blasio Appoints Occupy Wall Street Activist As City Council Speaker – Weasel Zippers

.

.
Naturally.

Via NRO:

In one of his first initiatives as mayor of New York City, Bill de Blasio strong-armed his ideological ally Melissa Mark-Viverito into the office of city-council speaker. In that role, she may be the second most powerful official in the city: Proposed legislation will pass through her office and she will set the agenda of the city council.

And her election has some observers worried. Council speakers traditionally represent the independent voice of the legislature, and they can, when necessary, act as a check on the mayor’s power. But, in many ways, Mark-Viverito – propelled into the office in large measure by de Blasio’s lobbying – is a progressive in the same mold as the new mayor. [...]

Councilwoman Mark-Viverito – who serves the city’s eighth district, covering northeastern Manhattan and some of the South Bronx – has been described by some colleagues as too liberal and too abrasive. She helped found and now co-chairs the Progressive Caucus of the city council – the farthest-left group in the legislature – and, with the Progressive Caucus, has advocated for the expansion of prevailing-wage requirements, the raising of the minimum wage, and higher taxes on the wealthy.

She was also an active participant in the Occupy Wall Street movement, which she said “inspired” her. “We are the 99 percent,” she said at an Occupy rally in November 2011. “We represent the 99 percent. We are representing people that have been impacted by the corporate greed, by the 1 percent.”

Mark-Viverito’s strong ties with Occupy extended beyond speaking at its rallies; she was once arrested for blocking a street during an Occupy protest against income inequality. “I was more than happy to participate in this action,” she said of her arrest. “Government needs to respond to the immediate crisis that we have, which is an economic crisis and inequality crisis in terms of how government is structured.”

Black Democrat Mayor Goes On Racist Tirade After Being Arrested For Drunk Driving (Video)

New York: Monticello Mayor Goes On Racist Tirade After DWI Arrest, “You F*cking Crackers” – Conservative Treehouse

.

Can you just imagine what the media would do with a white Mayor who yells at his black police officers “you f*cking niggers”? Think about it…

MONTICELLO, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) – A video recording has shown the mayor of the Sullivan County municipality of Monticello in a heated confrontation after being arrested by his own police officers.

[Language Warning For This Video]

.

.
As CBS 2’s Steve Langford reported, Monticello Mayor Gordon Jenkins was arrested on the night of Saturday, Nov. 16, on suspicion of drunken driving.

He was taken into custody after showing up to take a look at a serious car accident on Main Street. A volunteer firefighter noticed the mayor looked drunk, according to police, and notified law enforcement. Jenkins was arrested on the spot.

In a video recorded at his own police headquarters, a man identified as Jenkins was shown seated in a chair with one hand handcuffed to a wall. During the first minute of the video, he is heard apparently talking to himself, using a variety of obscene insults to describe the officers.

Soon afterward, an officer comes in to interview him.

“You know something, Davis?” he says to the officer in the video. “I’m the one that hired you in this job, man. I mean, it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter about that. But you know something? How the f**k you guys going to play the game?”

When the officer later addresses him as “sir,” Jenkins replies: “Don’t call me sir.”

“Mayor? Is that better?” the officer says.

“Don’t call me mayor,” Jenkins replies. “Call me n****r, because that’s what I am when I’m right here in handcuffs. But you know something? I don’t give a f**k.” (read more)

Crack-Smoking Toronto Mayor Rob Ford Caught On Tape Raving About Killing Someone (Video)

Everyone’s Favorite Crack-Smoking Mayor Rob Ford: ‘I Need F-ing 10 Minutes To Make Sure He’s Dead’ – Daily Caller

Rob Ford just doesn’t seem to understand some of the caveats associated with being an elected official. He already broke the “don’t smoke crack” rule, but hey, Marion Barry was able to recover from that. But a new tape of him threatening to kill some unidentified person has surfaced.

The Toronto Star purchased a video of Toronto mayor looking stark raving mad, saying that he was absolutely going to kill someone.

.

“I’m going to kill that f-ing guy. I’m telling you it’s first-degree murder,” Ford said. “He dies or I die, brother. I’ll rip his f-king throat out. I’ll poke his eyes out… I’ll make sure that motherf-ker’s dead.”

It’s unclear who he wants to kill, but he is visibly staggering and repeatedly hitching up his pants.

Ford apologized to his office after the tape surfaced.

“The Toronto Star just released a video that I was very, very inebriated,” he said. “All I can say is, again, I’ve made mistakes. I just wanted to come out and tell you I saw a video. It’s extremely embarrassing. The whole world’s going to see it. You know what? I don’t have a problem with that. I hope none of you have ever or will ever be in that state. Obviously, I was extremely, extremely inebriated.”

With this trajectory, there has to be a hooker snuff video somewhere out there. All we need to do is wait.

Democrat Mayor Filner Pleads Guilty To 3 Criminal Charges Including False Imprisonment By Violence, Fraud, Menace And Deceit

Filner Pleads Guilty To 3 Charges – U-T San Diego

Former San Diego Mayor Bob Filner pleaded guilty this morning to three criminal counts related to the sexual harassment allegations that drove him from office after a summer of scandal.

.

Specifically, Filner pleaded guilty before Superior Court Presiding Judge Robert Trentacosta to one felony count of false imprisonment by violence, fraud, menace and deceit and two misdemeanor counts of battery. Sentencing was set for Dec. 9, and documents indicate he will get three years of probation. He will serve three months of home confinement but no prison or jail time.

Filner also must undergo mental health treatment, has agreed never to seek public office again and will lose a portion of his city pension.

The charges involve three unnamed women victims, with the following events this year, which Filner admitted to one by one:

On March 6, he used force to overcome the resistance of a woman at a fundraiser, violating her liberty. This incident resulted in the felony charge.

On April 6, he kissed a woman on the lips at a one of his “Meet the Mayor” events for the public, resulting in one battery charge.

On May 25, he went to a Fiesta Island rally and clean-up, and when a woman posed with him for a photo, he touched her rear end, resulting in the second battery charge.

U-T Watchdog reported earlier this month that a criminal grand jury had been empaneled to hear evidence of possible criminal charges against Filner, 71, who resigned from office on Aug. 30. At least two lawyers said that they had clients who were called to testify in front of the panel, with appearance dates later this week. The guilty plea indicates the impending proceedings may have provided leverage for a plea deal.

[Background: The women who accused Filner]

Allegations of sexual harassment against Filner have been investigated by the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office, using a special hotline set up for the purpose. The sheriff handled the investigation because the city police department reported to Filner. Similarly, prosecution on criminal charges was handled by the state Attorney General’s Office because of a conflict of interest. That is, District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis ran against Filner for mayor last year.

Filner resigned from office under mounting pressure from allegations from about 20 women that he groped, fondled or otherwise acted inappropriately to them. Several of them described being put in the “Filner headlock” while he touched them inappropriately.

In addition to the criminal charges, he faces one lawsuit by his former communications director and one city claim from a parks worker. He left office after the City Council agreed to help with his legal defense related to those actions.

Gloria Allred, attorney for the former communications director, told U-T Watchdog by email, “He has abused his position of power and his position of trust and hurt many women. That is why on many occasions I urged the women of San Diego to contact the San Diego County Sheriff’s hotline if they had relevant information to report about Mayor Filner. I am proud of the women who did contact them. It is long overdue for him to be accountable in both the civil and criminal justice system and today is an important step forward in bringing Bob Filner to justice. His conduct as the mayor of San Diego was reprehensible and justice demands that he be punished for the harm he has caused to countless women who trusted and believed in him.”

City Attorney Jan Goldsmith, who is defending the city and Filner against Allred’s lawsuit, issued a statement saying, “Today’s action underscores the importance of Mr. Filner’s removal from office and will further help our city and the victims put this behind us.”

Separately, the Watchdog has reported, federal agents have made inquiries about Filner’s handling of a Kearny Mesa development by Sunroad Centrum Partners. The developer received a city concession after giving the mayor’s office $100,000 for favorite Filner causes. Any pending investigation of that matter is separate from the Attorney General’s charges regarding Filner’s alleged personal misconduct.

Filner was elected last year and served as mayor for nine months. He spent two decades as a U.S. congressman and, before that, served on the school board and City Council in San Diego. He also took part in the freedom rides for civil rights in the south in the 1960s.

A special election to replace Filner will be held Nov. 19.

Former Democrat Mayor And Obama Chum Kwame Kilpatrick Sentenced To 28 Years In The Slam

Former Detriot Mayor And Obama Pal Kwame Kilpatrick Sentenced To 28 Years – Gateway Pundit

Democrat crook and former mayor of Detroit, Kwame Kilpatrick, was sentenced today in federal court to 28 years in prison for public corruption, the longest corruption sentence ever handed down to a public official. Kilpatrick was endorsed by Obama and was once mentioned as a possible candidate for president. Kilpatrick named himself Detroit’s “hip hop mayor” who was “anointed by God to be mayor.” Now he is known as the “worst mayoral leader of the past decade“. Kilpatrick was running a criminal enterprise stealing millions from the city of Detroit, his convictions included tax crimes, racketeering, bribery and extortion.

.

CBS Detroit reported:

The judge laid bare the accusations against Kilpatrick of fake jobs for family and friends, lavish parties, pay to play schemes, and secret affairs, saying he “has generally shown little remorse” for a bevy of infractions. She said it was sad he chose to “waste his talent on personal enrichment and aggrandizement,” when he had so many talents that could have helped the city.

Edmunds called it “devastating corruption” that bred a corrosive environment, cynicism and apathy among people who could have been convinced to boost Detroit. “We lost transparency, we lost accountability,” Edmunds said, adding her sentence was meant to show the public demands both.

“That way of doing government is over, it’s done,” she said.

Kilpatrick spoke eloquently in his own defense immediately before the sentence was handed down, giving a lengthy talk full of apologies and self-reflection in a subdued voice that riveted the packed courtroom and overflow room.

“I just humbly and respectfully ask for a fair sentence … I respect the jury’s verdict. I think your honor knows I have disagreed in terms of the specific things I was found guilty on, but I respect the verdict and I also respect the American justice system,” he said.

He added: “We’ve been stuck in this town for a very long time over me, and I’m ready to let go so the city can move on. People here are suffering, they’re hurting and a great deal of that hurt I accept full responsibility for. I apologized to everyone who will listen, but it never seems to get heard.”

Kilpatrick went on to say “men, especially in the African American community” know they’re not supposed to cry or “bow down,” describing what he projected as “false confidence” that was misread as “arrogance.”

Democrat Mayor James ‘PeeWee’ Richardson Charged With Multiple Sex Crimes (Video)

Dem Mayor PeeWee Richardson Charged With Multiple Sex Crimes – Washington Free Beacon

James “PeeWee” Richardson, mayor of Carbon Hill, Alabama, was arrested and taken to the Walker County Jail Thursday evening for allegations of sexual abuse, sexual misconduct, harassment, and soliciting prostitution.

.

Accusations against Richardson include: sexual conduct against four victims, “that he engaged some victims in the custody of the Carbon City Jail,” and soliciting prostitution from one of the victims.

Should “PeeWee” be convicted, his maximum penalty would be one to ten years in jail for one to ten years per count of sexual abuse and sexual misconduct. Each charge of soliciting prostitution carries a year prison sentence and up to three months of prison per charge of harassment.

Richardson must immediately leave his office as mayor if he is convicted, because sexual abuse and sexual misconduct are both felonies.

As if you needed another reason to salute Hooters…………

I have inducted Hooters into my Politically Incorrect Hall of fame years ago. I did so because Hooters enrages Feminists, and the overly Socially Conservative types, you know the folks that wear blindfolds in the shower, and protest Hooters because Hooter girls make teen boys think of sex or something. Anyway, Hooters has now made a stand FOR women, and AGAINST perverts who happen to be mayor of San Diego! H/T to Phil Green who really should link me sometime if for no other reason than to celebrate Hooters new policy

Sign

According to the manager of that restaurant, all of the Hooters locations in the city (Rancho Bernardo is in the zone) have taken up this policy. “The signs went up at our four locations in San Diego this morning,” said Melissa Fry, director of marketing for HootWinc, the west coast Hooters franchise. “It’s not a political move for us in any way, shape, or form. We’re strictly taking a stand for the fair treatment of women. At our franchise alone, we employ 1100 beautiful, talented women.” And so Mayor Bob Filner, who has been locked out of city hall, has just been locked out of this fine family restaurant.

4-Year-Old Robert Tufts Re-Elected Mayor Of Dorset, Minnesota

4 Year Old Re-Elected Mayor In Minnesota Town – Weasel Zippers

We need a cute, honesty fix after all the slimy pol sex stories. I’d take this kid over Carlos Danger any day of the week.

.

Via Politico:

DORSET, Minn. – Robert “Bobby” Tufts hasn’t made it to preschool yet, but he’s already been elected twice as mayor of a tiny tourist town in northern Minnesota.

Mayor Tufts’ name was picked Sunday during annual Taste of Dorset festival to be mayor of Dorset for a second term. It has no formal city government and has a population of 22 to 28, depending on whether the minister and his family are in town.

Anyone could vote as many times as they like – for $1 a vote – at any of the ballot boxes in stores around town. The proceeds go toward organizing the festival.

Bobby was only 3 when he won election last year. His mother, Emma Tufts, said she and her son, who turns 5 in October, got choked up when his name was pulled for re-election Sunday.

Now, the serious commentary: These are not the disease, these are merelysymptoms of the disease, and the pattern is not coincidental.

Why has Amanda Bynes gone crazy? Why is Sydney Leathers being treated like a celebrity? Why can’t Anthony Weiner remember how many women he “sexted”? Why is Miley Cyrus naked? Why does Bob Filner think “therapy,” and not resignation, is the answer?

As for me, I think the Left is crazy, and not crazy as in “man what a crazy time we had with those Liberals last night” either. I mean they are crazy as in “those Liberals are crazier than a rabid raccoon on moonshine and crack”. I think a good many of them are perverted as well, I know their logic is. To the Left morality is all in your ideology. If you hold to Leftist ideals, you are moral, if you do not, then you are as immoral as it gets.

Democrat Corruption Update: 4 More Women Accuse San Diego Mayor Of Sexual Harassment

4 More Women Accuse San Diego Mayor Bob Filner Of Sexual Harassment – Denver Post

Four more women publicly identified themselves Thursday as targets of Mayor Bob Filner’s unwanted sexual advances – bringing to seven the number of accusers who have come forward this week.

.

They include a retired Navy rear admiral, a dean at San Diego State University and the head of the city’s Ports Tenants Association.

For the past two weeks, Filner, 70, has been mired in scandal. The lurid claims have become the talk of the town – plunging California’s second-largest city into political turmoil amid demands for its first Democratic leader in decades to resign.

Yet Filner shows no sign of quitting, fueling talk of a recall effort less than eight months into his four-year term. Filner refused to discuss the allegations when hounded by reporters Thursday, saying they should be addressed through legal channels.

“Let’s take a deep breath, let that process work itself out,” he said. “Meanwhile, we got a city to run.”

The San Diego County Democratic Party Central Committee was to meet Thursday evening to reconsider its position on Filner. At a meeting last week, the party split on whether to call for his resignation, but that was before the seven women came forward with detailed allegations of mistreatment.

You just cannot make this stuff up. Democratic Mayor sexual harasser to speak at benefit for victims of sexual abuse

Yep, you read  it right, of course, as RS McCain points out, the mayor’s heart is in the right place, and his hands? Well, let’s just say the ladies better watch out for Mr. Happy Hands, and his tongue too

I’d call this assault.

A city councilwoman and two lawyers, formerly allies of the mayor, held a press conference to air the charges lodged against Mayor Filner by a variety of women.

Former ally Briggs wrote that he must now turn on Filner, because his behavior is no mere slip-up or minor transgression, but consists of “hard core” violations.

In the Mayor’s office, there was something known as the “Filner headlock” where the Mayor puts his arm around a woman’s shoulder, pulls her in tight, gets in close to their face, asks about husband/boyfriend, says things like “you know you love me, lets go up to my office, no one will know.”Donna Frye described other specifics about a victim: “He grabbed her, kissed her, jamming his tongue down her throat.” Frye went on to describe another encounter: “The Mayor quickly had his hand down the inside of her bra.”

“I am the Mayor you can’t kick me out of any office” one employee of Filner allegedly said after she kicked him out of her office for his unwanted advances.

The allies-turned-accusers are trying to get the lecherous old monster to step down without having the women to come forward and make the allegations themselves. Of course, that won’t happen; he’s a Democrat, and a union stooge to boot. So we’re talking about the sort of retrograde, cynical, old-time machine politics mentality here where everything is fair game for your tribe that we usually don’t see nowadays, at least not outside the national government.

Double standards my friends double standards. Feminists rail against Republicans for being pro-life, but look the other way when a Democrat assaults women and treats them like pieces of meat. As I have noted before, this is how Liberals define morality. If you support Liberal ideals, you are moral, and excused from the way you behave, no matter how nasty that may be. If you oppose Liberal ideals on the other hand, you are immoral, period!
