Thuggery you say?

9 Feb

A Nod to the Gods compares the bad behavior of NBA players and NFL players, and comes up with some shocking results

36 have been accused of spousal abuse

7 have been arrested for fraud

19 have been accused of writing bad checks

117 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses

3 have done time for assault

71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit

14 have been arrested on drug-related charges

8 have been arrested! for shoplifting

21 currently are defendants in lawsuits, and 84 have been arrested for drunk driving in the last year !

OK, time to vote kids, which way do you vote?

If you said NBA, you are wrong

However if you said the NFL, you are still wrong

That abysmal record belongs not to the NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL, or any sports leagues. The real thugs do not dunk, run for TD’s steal bases, hit home runs or skate in hockey arenas. They inhabit Congress. And if you think that is a scary stat, just think about this. The people these folks are supposed to represent, keep electing them.

NFL reaches agreement with refs

27 Sep

Via the Blaze

The NFL and National Football League Referees Association, have finally reached an agreement, which probably means the end of lingerie-league rejects making boneheaded calls in stadium end zones.

Around midnight Thursday morning, after days of long and heated negotiations, word reached reporters that NFL-trained referees will be back on the field in time for Thursday night’s game between the Baltimore Ravens and the Cleveland Browns.

Commissioner Roger Goodell and the NFL agreed to hike referees’ annual compensation from $149,000 to $173,000. The new package will also reportedly include better benefits and 401(k) plans.

Great! Now highly paid professionals can screw up calls like only highly trained professionals can!

Seahawks, incompetent refs best Packers 14-12 Troglopundit hardest hit

25 Sep

I feel bad for Lance Burri and his fellow cheeseheads, this was the worst call I have ever seen, and the NFL is making it worse by defending it as a correct call

NEW YORK — The NFL has upheld the Seahawks’ 14-12 win over the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football.

The league said in a statement Tuesday that Seattle’s last-second touchdown pass should not have been overturned.

The NFL says Seahawks receiver Golden Tate should have been called for offensive pass interference before the catch, which would have clinched a Packers victory, but that cannot be reviewed by instant replay.

Wow, is the NFL seeking to catch up with NBA refs in incompetence?

Tiki Barber the walking definition of an asshole

22 Jul

After he retired from the the Giants, he ripped his former team mates, who promptly won a Super Bowl without him. Now he has taken despicability to a new low, cheating on his wife with a bimbo, leaving his wife her for a bimbo while his wife was eight months pregnant. What a prick! Way to treat your wife and kids Tiki. And, to be frank, his wife was a lot hotter than the bimbo skeleton he left her for

First the bimbo, who will one day dump Tiki for a younger, or richer guy

Arkansas gives Petrino the boot!

10 Apr

What an idiot this guy is. He had it MADE at Louisville, then left for the NFL, where he QUIT after half a season. And now, he was in a great job at Arkansas he had the Hogs doing very well. But now, all that is gone! Great coach, but a gigantic dumb ass

If you thought that the Bobby Petrino affair had already run out of bombshells, Arkansas Athletics Director Jeff Long dropped a nuclear warhead during his press conference announcing the firing of Petrino: The Arkansas head coach had given mistress Jessica Dorrell a $20,000 gift at some point in their relationship. And at that point, you could kind of feel Petrino losing his remaining support among the Arkansas fan base.

And just like that, the career of one of the most controversial coaches in the SEC, if not the nation, came crashing to an end. And a program that seemed like a darkhorse national title contender a week ago was left trying to pick up the pieces.

There are almost too many questions right now to list them all. Will Arkansas go with an interim coach now or try to get a new head coach in before the fall? What does this do to Arkansas’ dreams of finally winning an SEC Championship? In short, what happens next?

Of course, there are a number of schools that would take a gamble on Petrino, Texas Tech maybe? Just a thought.

OUCH! NFL crushses Saints over bounty program

You just knew the NFL was going to play “let’s make an example” with the Saints!

Meting out unprecedented punishment for a crush-for-cash bounty system that targeted key opposing players, the NFL suspended New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton without pay for next season and indefinitely banned the team’s former defensive coordinator, Gregg Williams.

Payton is the first head coach suspended by the league for any reason, accused of trying to cover up a system of extra cash payouts that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Wednesday called “particularly unusual and egregious” and “totally unacceptable.”

I am surprised at the length of this suspension, but, the NFL takes its public image very seriously. Frankly, it would not surprise me if Williams never coaches again.

Bill Press the walking, talking defnition of an asshole

16 Dec
English: Tim Tebow, a player on the Denver Bro...

Image via Wikipedia

Press has long been one of the nastiest Leftists out there. Of course his own vile personal attacks never prevent him from whining about those “mean Conservatives”. Here is audio of Press ripping Tim Tebow for daring to believe in Jesus, and, apparently for being alive.

Look, criticism of  Tebow’s play in the NFL is open. I am not sure he can cut it long-term as a QB, and I am the biggest Gator fan you will find. So, I have no issue with those who have a negative opinion on Tebow’s chances as a QB. But what Press does, by demanding that Tebow STFU is despicable, and is, yes anti-Christian bigotry. Apparently the ultra-tolerant Leftist Press cannot stand to hear the word Jesus. He is obviously suffering from the dreaded Liberal malady GODitis which I describe here

GODitis

Radical Atheists and ACLU members are the most common victims of this. Anytime they see ANYTHING remotely Christian, or hear ANYTHING remotely Christian, they break out in hives and start speed dialing the ACLU, and other radical Atheists! From there, their condition declines, they are afflicted with acute Offendeditis, and SOS. Foaming at the mouth may soon follow, and finally, they will start having paranoid thoughts, and delusions of victimhood. Very sad!

Note that Press also calls Tebow a disgrace. Why? For being a person of faith? For exercising his right to free speech? I would bet that if Tebow were saying he hates Bush, or Conservatives, or was bashing America, Press would be celebrating Tebow as a hero.

NFL owners, players reach deal!

24 Jul
The new NFL logo went into use at the 2008 draft.

Yep, looks like the 2011 NFL season will proceed as it should

The NFL Players Association and the league’s owners have reached agreement on the remaining points needed in their 10-year labor deal, sources from both sides said.

Despite the fact the new agreement will require a majority vote from the players, that part of the deal between the two sides is considered a formality, according to sources.

The NFLPA is making plans for a major press conference Monday. But first the player reps’ executive committee is scheduled to fly to Washington, D.C., on Sunday so they can vote Monday.

Just as the NFL would not have called a vote Thursday in Atlanta without knowing it would pass in the way it did — 31-0 with one abstention — the NFLPA would also not be going forward without that assurance.

You ever had a bad rash that keeps coming back?

7 Jul

Yeah, this publicity whore is JUST LIKE THAT!

CSM – Donald Trump’s decision to drop out of the 2012 presidential race may be as ephemeral as NFL quarterback Brett Favre’s decision to throw in the towel in 2008.

Like Mr. Favre, who was back on the gridiron playing for a different team just months after his teary farewell from football three years ago, Mr. Trump also appears to be considering suiting up to get back in the game – only this time as an independent.

“It was not an easy decision for me [to drop out of the Republican primary race in May], but I think that it will be an easy decision [to return to the campaign] if the Republicans choose the wrong candidate and if the economy is bad. I think it will be a really easy decision for me to make,”

The NFL’s Most Overrated Quarterbacks | Bleacher Report

2 Jul

Interesting list here. Thoughts? My take is that putting Favre and Fouts on the list is just stupid, no defense for those calls at all. I do completely agree with Joe Namath being #1 though.

Chris: Can The Jenn Sterger Sex Tape be far behind?

31 Dec

Chris at Wyblog ponders the images of Jenn Sterger, and the chances of more intimate details of her bedroom antics, and what role Bret Favre might play.

The NFL has thoroughly examined Jenn Sterger and her allegations of inappropriate sextual advances on the part of Brett Favre. And really, who wouldn’t want to thoroughly examine Jenn Sterger? Ms. Sterger, a former NY Jets game hostess, alleged that the future Hall of Fame quarterback sent her explicit text messages and photos, including a picture of a penis, during and after his tenure with the Jets.

But it wasn’t until Favre left the Jets for Minnesota that Sterger’s story got legs. The league immediately opened an investigation, which finally concluded today.

Brett Favre will be fined $50,000, not for any alleged misconduct, but for failing to “cooperate” with the NFL’s investigation.

Until such a taped appears enjoy these images of Ms. Sterger.
