ObamaCare, doing what it was supposed to stop

The biggest selling point for ObamaCare? That everyone could be covered, regardless of income, health, preexisting conditions, etc.. Yet, for this California woman, ObamaCare has caused her to lose the coverage she had that covered her rare condition.

Via Breitbart:

Paradise, CA resident Tiffany St. Cyr has a rare disease that is incurable but survivable with treatment, yet she cannot get care because of healthcare changes California adopted in anticipation of Obamacare and corresponding state healthcare changes.

St. Cyr is 28-years old and suffers from Achalasia. It has made her esophagus so weak that she is unable to move food from her mouth to her stomach, basically starving her to death.

The Mayo Clinic says there is no cure for the disease, but its “symptoms can usually be managed with minimally invasive (endoscopic) therapy or surgery.”
This where the healthcare changes come into play for St. Cyr. According to the Paradise Post, “St. Cyr was previously covered under no-share cost MediCal” but on November 1st “was transferred to a managed healthcare plan” that does not cover treatments for her disease.

This transfer to a managed plan took place “pursuant to AB 1467, the 2012-13 [California] State budget.”

According to the California Legislature’s Bill Analysis webpage, AB1467 made certain changes to MediCal to “comply with requirements of the federal Affordable Care Act,” also known as Obamacare. Other changes were made in anticipation of the January 1, 2014 roll-out of Covered California, “California’s own version of [Obamacare].”

But the result of it all is that St. Cyr cannot pay for the treatment she needs to reverse the effects of her disease.

CA Assemblyman Dan Logue (R-3rd Dist.) has taken up St. Cyr’s cause and says he is “prepared to write a letter (to Sacramento)” on her behalf, “asking that she gets the kind of care that she needs.”

People like me, and many others warned of consequences like this, and we were mocked by the media and Liberals. The biggest problem of ObamaCare is that the law punished those already insured, rather than leaving those people alone and focusing on helping those uninsured get coverage. Of course ObamaCare was never about anything but control, and redistributing wealth. The results, are all too predictable.

A question for Democrats

Why would a president HIDE his agenda before an election?

This news from the Washington Post doesn’t come as any surprise. The White House delayed much of President Obama’s agenda until after the 2012 election. Heaven forbid they let the voters know what was really in store for them.

The White House systematically delayed enacting a series of rules on the environment, worker safety and health care to prevent them from becoming points of contention before the 2012 election, according to documents and interviews with current and former administration officials.

Some agency officials were instructed to hold off submitting proposals to the White House for up to a year to ensure that they would not be issued before voters went to the polls, the current and former officials said.

The delays meant that rules were postponed or never issued. The stalled regulations included crucial elements of the Affordable Care Act, what bodies of water deserved federal protection, pollution controls for industrial boilers and limits on dangerous silica exposure in the workplace.

What type of government hides its agenda from the people? Another question for Democrats, why are you still supporting this president?

Charles Johnson makes the full transition from somebody to degenerate asshole

I do not know Jim Hoft, of Gateway Pundit, but, I have always been a fan of his passion and his work, so now that he is having his health insurance cancelled, Thanks to Obamacare. I feel for him, especially since his recent health issues.

The Blaze reported:

Well-known conservative blogger Jim Hoft at Gateway Pundit suffered terrifying health issues roughly three months ago.

“I became very sick with what I thought was a cold,” he wrote in a candid post earlier this week. “After a few days I lost vision in my left eye and I checked into the hospital. I soon found out that what I thought was a summer cold was actually Strep bacteria poisoning my blood stream. The bacteria blinded my left eye, ate a hole through my heart, caused five strokes on both sides of my brain and forced the removal of my prosthetic left knee.”

Hoft appeared on the Glenn Beck Program Friday with guest host Dana Loesch, explaining how he has now become one of the millions (so far) to lose their health insurance in the aftermath of the Affordable Care Act.

“I get this notification that I’m going to lose my insurance,” he said. “This insurance that I bought, that I purchased, and I was paying a good premium, (and) covered most everything.”

Hoft, who is still in a wheelchair, said he has a number of “major surgeries” in the near future and was “very pleased” with his insurance of choice.

“So to get this news on top of my recovery, on top of trying to make a living, has been obviously a very difficult thing to take on at this time,” he said, the emotion clear in his voice.

Hoft has written about Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius’ assertion that people who have lost their insurance are “thrilled” with the options they have available to them, and on Friday he repeated his message that she can “go to hell” because that is “absolutely not true.”

Ah the wonders of Socialism, taking from those that have insurance, and are happy with it, in the name of helping those that cannot afford insurance attain insurance. Does that make sense to anyone, on any level? Now Jim has to put up with hateful attacks like this one

Leftists don’t like it when you speak out against their heartless, failed socialism.

This came in the email from Dan Brown in Bluefield, WV
“Pundit dies slowly and in great pain- 200 million Americans celebrate”

556x266xhate-mail-wv.jpg.pagespeed.ic.psoaEEmHT0

Then there is Charles Johnson, who apparently takes joy in deriding a sick man who has lost had his health insurance taken away. RS McCain alerts us to the latest from miscreant Charles Johnson

Jim Hoft is one of millions who are losing their insurance because of ObamaCare’s centralized regulatory scheme. By substituting government mandates for the risk-based business decisions of insurers, ObamaCare effectively abolishes certain insurance plans and in other cases — including Jim Hoft’s — drives insurers out of certain markets.

These problems were entirely predictable and were, in fact, predicted by opponents of ObamaCare, but the media never questioned Obama’s repeated promise, “If you like your plan, you can keep your plan” — nowrecognized as The Lie of the Year.

For some reason I’ve never understood, Jim Hoft has always been hated by Charles Johnson of Little Green Footballs, one of whose ignorant minions posted this despicable hatefulness:

LGF_Jim_Hoft

This is as dishonest as it is cruel — “thanks to ObamaCare,” my ass!

What these deluded fools would have you believe, basically, is that there was no such thing as “decent” health care in America until Obama and Democrats invented it. According to these idiots, cancellations caused by ObamaCare are actually good news, because hey, the government will force other companies to issue you a policy. But this isn’t the same as, “If you like your plan, you can keep your plan,” is it?

No, it’s not. As Jim says, he had “excellent” insurance that gave him access to the best treatment. Jim paid extra for that plan, because it was the plan he wanted, and the regulatory mandates of ObamaCare have nowtaken Jim Hoft’s plan away from him.

What a lousy excuse for a human being Charles Johnson is. Stomping on someone who is sick, and who is a victim of the stupidity of the central planners who are behind ObamaCare. Like I said, I do not know Jim, but if Charles Johnson had said that in front of me, well, it would have taken all my restraint not to deck the goofy weasel bastard!

UPDATE! Obviously I should note that Charles Johnson did not make that attack on Hoft. Yet I see that CJ allows this post to stand? So again, My apologies to Charles Johnson, HE did NOT make that comment, but he has allowed it to stay on his sight. Yes, I should have checked the post myself, so my mistake is no one’s fault but mine. But, had anyone posted such a nasty post on this blog, not only would that post be gone, but so would their posting privileges.

Moonbat-produced video wins coveted ObamaCare Propaganda award

Via The Daily Caller

The Department of Health and Human Services has crowned a YouTube video entitled “Forget About The Price Tag” as the grand prize winner in a contest meant to encourage young people to sign up for Obamacare.

The video contest, announced in August — in partnership with a group called Young Invincibles — encouraged participants to produce clips filled with pro-Obamacare messaging.

HHS’s grand prize-winning video, announced Monday by the White House, features a young woman named Erin McDonald singing an Obamacare-loving version of Jessie J’s hit single, “Price Tag.”

Without a hint of irony, McDonald sings her chorus: “Ain’t about the, uh, cha-ching cha-ching. Ain’t about the, yeah, bla-bling bla-bling. Affordable Care Act. Don’t worry ’bout the price tag.”

Ah goodness, talk about transparency, this video shows, clearly, why no one with an IQ above 65 would support ObamaCare. The fool who did this video ignores the reality of the consequences associated with ObamaCare. Millions of people  who had health insurance, insurance they liked are being forced OFF those plans. And now face paying far more for plans they either do not like, or with much higher deductibles. The irony here is that the bill this buffoon celebrates forces people to do the very thing her song urges them not be worry about, the price tag!

Sure it is easy to say do not sweat the bill, unless you cannot pay it, in which case you will be fined by the IRS. It is east to say do not worry about the cost, but very hard to have to  choose between having much more costly health insurance and saving less money, or enjoying life less, or taking fewer vacations, or opening a small business. And again, this is being  forced onto people who HAD good insurance, and were forced, BY LAW, off those plans. It is damned easy to say, do not worry about the cost, unless you are forced to lose your doctor, or are no longer free to use the hospital you prefer. It is so very easy for this Nimrod to sing about forgetting about the cost. But what IS the real cost? The real cost is losing your control of your health care, losing your insurance, and then being forced onto a plan you do not want, one that costs more, and gives you no real choices.

By the way, this walking brain donor won $2,000 for her video. I guess that is the going rate for useful idiots these days.

Your quote of the day

Via Townhall, Kurt Schlichter nails Progressives!

Reason, facts, truth – these bourgeois concepts mean nothing to the adherents of progressivism. You are never going to change the mind of someone who believes in nothing except the imperative of his own absolute power. You simply have to defeat him.

Progressivism is not a coherent ideology so much as a purpose – to control every aspect of our lives. It is about consolidating progressive power. Nothing else matters. That includes the truth.

How much would you pay for a website that does not work?

$400 million? $600 million? How about $1 billion? Not enough, you fools! Obama would pay more!

Via The Blaze:

The to-date cost of the glitchy Obamacare website has topped $1 billion, easily surpassing the $394 million originally estimated by the Government Accountability Office, according to a Bloomberg Government analysis.

It’s important to note that the Bloomberg analysis runs through Sept. 30, just before the 16-day partial government shutdown. So the final cost may be more than $1 billion.

Perhaps more shocking than the site’s likely price tag is the fact that roughly one-third of that amount was spent on contracts awarded in the six months leading up to the site’s disastrous Oct. 1 launch – when those at the top were reportedly aware of the site’s many problems.

Remember when we thought Bill Clinton was a shameless liar?

The Other McCain looks at President Conflation and sums him up perfectly!

Just got through watching President Obama lying on TV, and the method of his dishonesty is what fascinates me. He (and other liberals) engage in a sort of rhetorical prestidigitation, whereby health insurance is conflated with health care. In other words, the Democrats would have you believe, if you don’t have insurance, you just get sick and die. But what they never mention is that most people are healthy, and the vast majority of Americans — whether healthy or sick — had health insurance before ObamaCare was enacted.

If you were part of the X-million who did not have health insurance (those numbers were always estimates, and there was serious disagreement about how many were in the supposedly pathetic legion of The Uninsured), that didn’t mean you were doomed to die a painful death without benefit of medical care.

Most people without health insurance were healthy young people. But by relentlessly hyping the allegedly widespread misery of The Uninsured, liberals  sought to justify a complex new federal regulatory apparatus that changed health insurance for everybody — including people who already had insurance with which they were satisfied.

The President therefore promised that everybody who already had insurance could keep it, and further promised that their rates would not go up as a result of the new law. But he lied.

Now, the President is attempting to convince us that everything is just hunky-dory. People who continue to oppose this law, the President would have us believe, are against health care — that is to say, he is conflating this legislation with health care per se, so that if you are against this particular law, you’re pro-cancer or something.

That’s right: Republicans want people to get sick and die, because illness and death are the only alternatives to the President’s policy.

Keith Ellison Bottom Feeder

He is so sorry, I mean really sorry that you stupid Americans misunderstood Dear Leader when he told you a bald-faced lie over and again!

Despicable little man, what an absolute disgrace. I cannot fathom how he can look himself in the mirror frankly! It is one thing to disagree on policy, but to lie, knowing you are lying, knowing you are defending lies, and knowing you have pushed through a law that is HURTING PEOPLE? Sorry, but that is evil, and such a person should be thrown out of office.

So when can we realistically expect that Obama Care website to work?

In only three more years, give or take apparently

Wait, did he say 2017?

“It may take until 2017. It will work really well then.”

– White House adviser David Plouffe, quoted by ABC News, on the implementation problems facing Obamacare.

Talk about setting low goals for the greatest legislation evah!

The Obama administration claimed victory Sunday for making HealthCare.gov workable for the vast majority of users, a standard that will be tested as millions of people flood the site in the next three weeks.

Sunday marked the passage of the administration’s self-imposed deadline for fixing the broken ObamaCare enrollment website, which serves consumers in 36 states.

The agency that oversees HealthCare.gov said “we believe we have met the goal” of making the system navigable for most people, but cautioned that more problems may lie ahead.

“Dramatic progress has been made,” the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) stated in a report released Sunday morning. “[But] there is more work to be done to continue to improve and enhance the website.”

The mixed message highlights the challenge facing the Obama administration as it seeks to ensure that millions can sign up for individual health plans online by the end of March.

Buffoons!

Welcome to Marxism 101 America. ObamaCare punishes those who had insurance

Donald Douglas has a link to a WSJ piece that looks into the truth about how bad ObamaCare REALLY is. Odd isn’t it the “Affordable Care act” is proving to be anything but affordable, or Americans or America. Even odder, perhaps, is that this bill shows how little Democrats “care” about working Americans.

Another essential analysis, at the Wall Street Journal, “ObamaCare’s Plans Are Worse“:

Liberals justify [ObamaCare's] coercive cross-subsidies as necessary to finance coverage for the uninsured and those with pre-existing conditions. But government usually helps the less fortunate honestly by raising taxes to fund programs. In summer 2009, Senate Democrats put out such a bill, and the $1.6 trillion sticker shock led them to hide the transfers by forcing people to buy overpriced products.

This political mugging is especially unfair to the people whose plans on the current individual market are being taken away. The majority of these consumers are self-employed or small-business owners. They’re middle class, rarely affluent. They took responsibility for their care without government aid, and unlike people in the job-based system, they paid with after-tax dollars.

Now they’re being punished for the crime of not subsidizing ObamaCare, even though the individual market was never as dysfunctional or high cost as liberals claim. In 2012, average U.S. individual premiums were $190, ranging from a low of $123 in North Dakota to a high of $385 in Massachusetts. Average premiums for family plans fell that year by 0.5% to $412.

Those numbers come from the 13,000 different policies from 180 insurers sold on eHealthInsurance.com, the online shopping brokerage that works. (Technological wonders never cease.) Individuals can make the trade-offs between costs and benefits for themselves. This wide variety is proof that humans don’t all want or need the same thing. If they did, there would be no need for a market and government could satisfy everybody.

That is precisely what the Obama health planners believe they can do. Regulators mandated a very rich level of “essential” health benefits that all plans in the individual market must cover, regardless of cost. This year eHealth reported that its data show individual premiums must be 47% higher than the old average to fund the new categories in the individual market.

The ugly face of Marxism has begun to show itself hasn’t it? The promise of ObamaCare is far removed from the reality of ObamaCare. But that is true of all promises made in the name of Marxism. That anyone would still defend this gargantuan power grab is inconceivable, unless you accept the truth about those people. They are Marxists, or are blindly supporting Marxism out of sheer ignorance. Even though they see the train coming, they refuse to accept that it is, indeed, a train.

And the push for full blown Socialized Medicine commences

Donald Douglas links an article in which a Communist lays out their oh, so enlightened solution to health care. I figured I would take a few minutes to parse, their arguments, and destroy them

Website delays – the most unwelcome news for computer acolytes since the tech boom crashed – are not the biggest problem with the ACA, as will become increasingly apparent long after the signup headaches are a distant memory.

So, we are to believe that a government that cannot even get a website to work, after spending $600,000,000 on said website, can somehow implement full blown national health care?

What prompted the ACA was a rapidly escalating healthcare nightmare, seen in 50 million uninsured, medical bills plunging millions into un-payable debt or bankruptcy, long delays in access to care, and record numbers skipping needed treatment due to cost.

50 million uninsured? I thought it was 30 million. Or was it 44 million? The Communist uses propaganda to sway opinion, and overly inflated numbers that are often simply made up serve that purpose. The strategy of a Communist is to create panic, and frighten people into empowering government to fix whatever the crisis is.

The main culprit was our profit-focused system, with rising profiteering by a massive health care industry, and an increasing number of employers dropping coverage or just dumping more costs onto workers.

But of course, profit, which is evil, is the culprit here, it always is with Communists isn’t it? Never mind that government programs always fail because there is no accountability, no bottom line. If an evil, profit-seeking insurance company does not perform, it will go belly up. Competition has always increased quality, and costumer service, and helped to make things more affordable. The answer in part, to our health care problems is to increase competition by allowing health insurance to be more easily sold across state lines. With a state run system, there is no option, no competition. And if you need to see where that leads, look at Medicare, Medicaid, or Social Security, which are all broke!

The ACA tackles some of the most egregious inequities: lack of access for many of the working poor who will now be eligible for Medicaid or subsidies to offset some of their costs for buying private insurance through the exchanges, a crackdown on several especially notorious insurance abuses, and encouragement of preventive care.

But the law actually further entrenches the insurance-based system through the requirement that uncovered individuals buy private insurance. It’s also chock full of loopholes.

Well, here we go, another self-defeating Communist argument. Obamacare, a government mandate has loopholes, it will fail. Given that, why would anyone support even more government run legislation?

Some consumers who have made it through the website labyrinth have found confusing choices among plans which vary widely in both premium and out of pocket costs even with the subsidies, a pass through of public funds to the private insurers.

Translation? You are just too stupid to handle having choices, you need a government agent handle all those icky details there comrade!

The minimum benefits are also somewhat illusory. Insurance companies have decades of experience at gaming the system and warehouses full of experts to design ways to limit coverage options.

The ACA allows insurers to cherry pick healthier enrollees by the way benefit packages are designed, and as a Washington Post article noted on 21 November, consumers are discovering insurers are restricting their choice of doctors and excluding many top ranked hospitals from their approved “network”.

Again, insurance companies are EVIL! See they are limiting your choices, taking away you doctor, and restricting the hospitals you can use. Well, actually, it is the government, through Obama Care that is doing that, so, of course, the answer is to give that same government even greater control. Good Grief, how stupid are these folks?

Far less reported is what registered nurses increasingly see – financial incentives within the ACA for hospitals to prematurely push patients out of hospitals to cheaper, less regulated settings or back to their homes. It also encourages shifting more care delivery from nurses and doctors to robots and other technology that undermines individual patient care, and that may work no better than the dysfunctional ACA websites.

And we are to somehow delude ourselves into believing that an elimination of private insurance will ameliorate these problems?

Is there an alternative? Most other developed nations have discovered it, a single-payer or national healthcare system.

Of course it is, sure! Forget that the issues we are seeing with Obama Care clearly illustrate the consistent failures of central planners and their Statist schemes. Forget that every concern those opposed to national health care have expressed are proven by Obama Care. Forget history, forget all of it. Just push forward to total government control of our health care. Bring on the death panels, and the elimination of personal choice and autonomy. Just leave it all to people so incompetent they cannot even get a vastly over priced website to work. A website, by the way, they had  more than three years to get right. THREE YEARS!

A closing thought. Isn’t it odd that Leftists foam at the mouth if insurance companies deny a prescription, or treatment, but if the government does it, it is wonderful? It is not odd, it is simply that the Left see government as their god. Just as Christians see God, yes THE REAL GOD, as perfect, Leftists see their god, in this case Washington D.C. as perfect. Now you might say that is just a different view of the world until you consider that God created the universe, and all life in it. The Leftists’ god on the other hand cannot even get a website to work.

If Democrats think Obamacare is a PR disaster now, just wait

Wait till those employer provided plans start getting 86ed next year. Then the real caca hits the fan

One of the things you may have noticed in the past couple of weeks is that some liberal pundits are claiming that ObamaCare is essentially a public relations problem: The program is just wonderful, but there have been some P.R. problems with the rollout.

Democrats need to learn that denial is not the name of a river in Egypt:

Democratic leaders claim the bungled launch of Obamacare is just the latest news sensation — a media-stirred tempest that looks in the heat of the moment like it could upend the midterm election, but ends up fizzling well before voters head to the polls.
Some party strategists say they’re in denial.

And that perceived gap between party spin and facts on the ground is fueling worries that the White House and Democratic higher-ups aren’t taking the possible electoral blowback seriously enough or doing enough to shield their candidates. Democratic contenders in the toughest races are distinctly less convinced that Obamacare will fade as an election-year issue — and they can’t afford to just cross their fingers that things get ironed out or that Republicans revert to political hara-kiri.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said at a forum hosted by BuzzFeed recently that the rollout won’t “hurt us in 2014,” adding that “we’re proud” of the law. Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, in a recent appearance on CNN, went so far as to assert that Obamacare would be “an advantage” for Democratic candidates next year.

“Democrats will run on the Affordable Care Act and win,” she has also told reporters.

The White House, meanwhile, has come across as equally dismissive of Obamacare’s consequences for 2014.

And the worst news of all came out today in a CNN Poll

And speaking of complete meltdown . . .

We are starting to see a broad polling trend for Barack Obama, and it should have the White House worried — but maybe Obama’s fellow Democrats in Congress even more.  The latest CNN poll confirms what the Washington Post/ABC poll first noticed, and what the CBS poll corroborated — Obama’s approval decline involves more than just his performance.  The Americans public is souring on Obama as a person and as a brand, and that spells real trouble for his agenda . . . .

President Obama will not be on the ballot in 2014 or 2016, but the American people will be angry with him, and guess who else? His fellow Democrats, and likely any nominee the Democrats put forward in 2016. They will take the losses, and then the only question is will the GOP use enough common sense to reap the electoral benefits?

Your Marxist Moron of the Day Russell Simmons

What an absolute genius Simmons is, I mean he is Hall of Fame stupid folks, and a useful idiot if I ever saw one.

RUSSELL SIMMONS: OBAMACARE ALREADY SAVED THOUSANDS, POSSIBLY MILLIONS, OF LIVES

Millions of Americans have already been forced out of their existing health care policies, a number that may skyrocket in the new year.

Russell Simmons sees it differently.

The hip-hop mogul says ObamaCare is already so successful it’s saved thousands, if not millions of lives.

Yes, we initially wanted single payer, and we had to compromise back in 2009 for the Affordable Care Act. But, it is a damn good piece of legislation that has already saved hundreds of thousands, if not millions of lives. So, let us not give up now.

Hell, why not say billions Russell? I mean if you are going to make a complete ass of yourself, REALLY go for it!

Simmons blasted the 39 house Democrats who voted in favor of tweaking ObamaCare, but he saved his harshest words for the GOP in toto.

I know where Republicans stand. They have voted 47 times to repeal the Affordable Care Act, so their stance is clear. If you get sick, you’re on your own. If you can’t pay for your medical expenses, declare bankruptcy. If you have a pre-existing condition, they’ll send you a get well card when you’re on your death-bed. Whatever President Obama stands for, they stand for the opposite. Even if it goes against every principle they have advocated for in the past, they would rather destroy our country, than see President Obama pass policy that is good for ALL Americans.

Note how he totally ignores those that have LOST insurance they had, and that they liked? Note that he ignores the fact that Obama KNEW these people, and millions more, just wait till those employer-provided plans go away too Russell. would have their policies 86ed and be forced to pay far more for coverage now. Forget that many will struggle mightily to find a way to pay those premiums. In short do not bother this idiot while he spouts nonsensical things and pretends to care about working Americans.

As for the millions who already lost their health care plan thanks to ObamaCare’s arrival, Simmons says they should simply say, “good riddance.” He simply knows better than you. Period.

And please don’t tell me this about people whose healthcare was canceled…because that healthcare is predatory and it is unconscionable that we would allow anyone in this country to own such policies.

See, Simmons does not give a flip about you losers who had policies you LIKED canceled. You were just too stupid to understand, but it is OK, Obama will help you, just ask Russell Simmons while he repeats anything his savior, Obama says, no matter how inane it is.

Only a fool still believes Democrats care about working people

Example: Charles Rangel, Democrat, Representative, he is upset about Obama’s lies about Obamacare because he truly cares about Americans, because he wants to get reelected and garner more wealth and power! In other words, Rangel is your typical Democrat, a power-hungry Statist who is not fit to shovel camel dung!

Via NYDN:

President Obama took his medicine Thursday for the botched rollout of Obamacare.

During an extraordinary hour-long news conference, Obama repeatedly said he deserves the blame of angry Americans for a debacle that has cast a shadow over his presidency and left Democrats anxious about the 2014 elections.

And to make amends, he reversed a cornerstone of Obamacare, at least for one year, saying people should be able to keep insurance policies that were supposed to be canceled. [...]

Still, some Democrats called for making legislative changes in addition to those Obama announced. Democrats said that colleagues vulnerable in next year’s election remained concerned about a backlash from voters.

“If I had the problem, saying you’re sorry doesn’t help me worth a damn at the polls, unless I can staple your remarks to the ballot,” Rep. Charles Rangel (D-Manhattan) said.

House Democrats have a message for Americans who have lost their insurance

DG7

And that message is, apparently tough luck!

One week ago, President Obama apologized for giving millions of Americans false assurances that they could keep their health care plans if they liked them. At a press conference Thursday evening, House Democratic leaders Nancy Pelosi, Steny Hoyer, Xavier Becerra, and Jim Clyburn were asked if they would like to apologize for making the same false claim. All of them declined.

“I don’t think there’s anything for us to apologize for,” said Clyburn.

Nothing to apologize for? How about for LYING to Americans? Or refusing to obey, yes OBEY, the wishes of the American people? They did not want this bill, and you Rep Clyburn, basically stuck your middle finger in their faces!

“There is nothing in the Affordable Care Act that said that your insurance company should cancel you,” said Minority Leader Pelosi.

Actually, you miserable Marxist, there IS. You are a miserable liar, and as phony as your multiple face lifts.

In fact, the Affordable Care Act says that plans created after March of 2010 must be cancelled, and the law also gave the administration the authority to write regulations that forced the cancellation of some policies that existed prior to March 2010.

“Did I ever tell my constituents that if they liked their plan they could keep it?” Pelosi asked. “I would have if I’d ever met anybody who liked his or her plan. But that was not my experience.”

Oh goodness, first she says she never said “if you like your plan…” then she says she WOULD have said that but she never heard from anyone who liked their plan. How does she look at herself in the mirror?

In fact, Pelosi said in 2009: “If you like what you have, you can keep it.” Pelosi’s website still states: “Keep your doctor, and your current plan, if you like them.”

Pelosi and the rest have told so many lies they cannot even remember them.

“As far as the Affordable Care Act is concerned, what the president said was completely accurate,” Pelosi said.

Delusional? No, this is what Marxists like these disgraces to America do, they lie, lie, lie, and then repeat the lies. They care about power, not people, and certainly not about America, or about American principles. There is no excusing these wretched bastards. They must GO in November 2014, get out to the polls, vote these people out of office!

More at the link.

The Obamacare “fix” is in

Let me keep this short and simple, the “fix” Dear Leader unveiled yesterday is a joke. It is meant to shift blame to insurance companies, Obama is very adept at shifting blame don’t you know. Expect the new wave of Liberal talking points to be that the President offered to let people keep their plans, and those greedy insurers refused. So it will be their fault now, according to the Left. And make no mistake, killing the private health insurance business is a big part of what Obamacare is really all about. Of course, the fact shall remain that the President’s own law made the “junk policies” illegal. The fact is the President KNEW that millions would lose coverage and lied about that repeatedly. And now, that the law is in the middle of taking effect, the President is going to snap his fingers and change the law. Funny, I thought only Congress could change laws, but, Obama is above all of that I suppose.

No one should fall for this scam. Anyone that does is simply uniformed. Anyone that defends this fraud believes that the government can lie to the people, force a bill down their throats, and then, after the law takes effect, suddenly change the law as if that will magically undo the damage done, and the inherent flaws in the bill.

This Leftist fiasco is a perfect example of how foolish it was to attempt “comprehensive health care reform”. In the name of helping 30 million or so uninsured Americans, many of whom were uninsured by choice, these buffoons wrote a massive bill that, rather than addressing the uninsured, and preexisting conditions, created million more uninsured who were happy with their insurance. This has ripped the mask off today’s Democratic Party, and exposed them for the Marxist fools they are. It has also given us all a glimpse of how cold and capricious Statism is. Those who still will not see, and who will still support the Democrats are beyond foolish. They are evil.

Now THAT is the right way to mock Democrats

GREAT Tweet from RS McCain today

Democrat 2014 campaign slogan: “Now That We Totally Fucked Up Your Health Insurance, Give Us a Chance to Fuck Up Everything Else, Too.

Go read the post that goes along with that Tweet, it is pure gold

If you want to see a microcosm of the problems looming for Democrats in their 2014 mid-term campaign to recapture the House, look no further than New York’s 23rd Congressional District:

Martha Robertson is the Democratic candidate challenging Republican incumbent Tom Reed in NY-23, my home district.
We have highlighted Robertson many times before regarding her unsubstantiated fundraising claim that “GOP ops” tried to take down her website. Robertson’s campaign never has provided proof of that claim, leading to a fair amount of negative local television coverage and even national press attention.
The fundraising scandal, which I doubt is over, likely will be overshadowed by a much bigger problem: Robertson is a long-time and vocal supporter of mandates with the ultimate goal of single-payer.
In light of the Obamacare debacle, and the inability of the federal government even to set up a website portal, a complete federal government takeover of the health care system is a hard sell.

Basically, the Democrats own the train wreck that is Obamacare. The GOP has a GREAT opportunity here. Can they take advantage? They damn well better. Here is a bit of helpful advice from me to the GOP establishment. If a long-time Republican gets a primary challenger from the Tea Party, do not whine. If the incumbent is a Conservative they ought to welcome debate, and their challenger as well. And, if the incumbent loses the primary, then the establishment ought to welcome and support the Republican voters choice! Respect your base, without them, the GOP is done. In other words care more about America, than about your power.

To the Tea Party. Feel free to primary a less than stellar Conservative, I think it is great for our party. Challenge them, and debate them, but if you lose to them, support them anyway. Remember, the less Democrats in Congress the better. Basically, we need to have open challenges among ourselves, and then we need to support the winner. Again, recall that not one Republican voted for Obamacare in 2010, NOT ONE! A less than stellar Republican is better than a Democrat!

So now “if you like your plan, you can keep your plan” is an incorrect promise is it?

How morally retarded is the Left? The Other McCain lets us know

Orwellian euphemism from the New York Times:

The split between lawmakers and the White House reflects the dilemma the president finds himself in as he seeks to follow through on last week’s acknowledgment about his incorrect promise on health care coverage.

Good freaking grief! How far removed from our senses are we? Why is anyone making excuses for Obama’s BALD-FACED LIE? He LIED, and many Democrats lied with him. This was not a broken promise, it was a lie, PERIOD! And it was a lie told, and repeated to pass a bill these miscreants KNEW would force most American’s off the insurance they chose, and onto plans the government mandates! How tough is it to connect the dots here? If the government can tell you you MUST buy a product, in this case health insurance, then they can tell you what type of health coverage you MUST have. Honestly who did not see this coming?

Maybe more to the point, why would anyone defend, excuse, or spin this? Because those defending this un-American abomination actually think the government should do whatever it takes to reach the desired end, in this case, socialized medicine. Those defending this do not love liberty, they detest it! They care about the “common good”, they are Marxists! They are fine with deceit because they like the end game, so the means do not matter. It is all about the Collective as Donald Douglas notes

This is literally painful, from Jonathan Cohn, at the New Republic, “Bill Clinton Is Wrong. This Is How Obamacare Works” (via Memeorandum):

The Affordable Care Act includes a so-called grandfather clause. That allows insurers to keep renewing plans, without changes or benefits and prices, as long as they were available before March 2010, when the Affordable Care Act became law. But the non-group market is volatile: Very few people stay on plans for more than two years anyway. And the grandfather clause is narrow, by design: If insurers made even modest changes, the protection goes away. Those plans are subject to the new regulations that take effect in January. As a result, the majority of people who buy insurance on their own are learning they can’t have what they had before, even though Obama promised everybody they could. Either their premiums are going up, as insurers accommodate the new regulations, or the plans are disappearing altogether. In those cases, people have to find new plans. And the sticker price of what they’ll find is higher than what they pay now.

This is not a glitch or an accident. This is the way health care reform is supposed to work. And it’s important to put these changes into context. For one thing, it’s a small number of people relative to the population as a whole. The vast majority of Americans get coverage through employers or a large government program like Medicare. These changes don’t really affect them. The law also anticipates these changes by, among other things, offering tax credits that discount the premiums—in many cases, by thousands of dollars. (Other provisions of the law, like a limit on insurance company profits and overhead, should restrain prices more.) As a result, many people buying coverage on their own will be paying less money for benefits that are as good, if not better, than what they have now.

But there are real people who must pay more and, in some cases, put up with less. Some of them are people walking around with junk insurance, the kind are practically worthless because they pay out so little. Some of them are young people, particularly young men, whom insurers have coveted and wooed with absurdly low premiums—and make too much money to qualify for substantial subsidies. And some of them are reasonably affluent, healthy people with generous, open-ended policies that are hard to find even through employers. Insurers kept selling them because they could restrict enrollment to healthy people. Absent that ability, insurers are canceling them or raising premiums so high only the truly rich can pay for them.

Those people are the ones everybody is hearing about now, partly because they are a compelling, sometimes well-connected group—and partly because, absent a well-functioning website, stories of people benefitting from the law’s changes aren’t competing for attention. It’s impossible to know how big this group is. The data on existing coverage just isn’t that good. The anecdotes are frequently, although not always, more complicated than they seem at first blush. It’s probably one to two percent of the population, which doesn’t sound like much—except that, in a country of 300 million, that’s 3 to 6 million people. Most experts I trust think they represent a minority of people buying coverage on their own, but nobody can say with certainty.

Is that a worthwhile tradeoff for reform? Obviously that’s a matter of opinion. The fact that some people—even a small, relatively affluent group—are giving up something they had makes their plight (genuinely) more sympathetic. They are right to feel burned, since Obama did not make clear his promise might not apply to them. And there’s a principled argument about whether people should be responsible for services they’re unlikely to use presently, whether it’s fifty-something year olds paying for maternity care or twenty-something year olds paying for cardiac stress tests.

Read the whole thing. Utterly astounding.

This is what the president meant by “fundamental” change folks. He is willing to destroy private health insurance to get what he, and his fellow Marxists have long dreamed of, universal health care, which, according to a man I met today at the airport, is a great thing, until you make the mistake of getting sick. And speaking of getting sick, it seems that more Democrats are getting sick of their electoral chances next year

House Democrats delivered a fix-it-or-else ultimatum Wednesday to President Obama, giving his administration until Friday to find an affordable solution for the millions of Americans losing their health plans under ObamaCare — or risk some Democrats backing a Republican solution.

The ultimatum from President Obama’s own party is another sign of the unrest within the Democratic caucus about the cancellation notices. The end-of-the-week deadline is significant, because House Republicans are planning to call a vote Friday on a bill that would extend current policies for another year.

It’s unclear whether Democrats would go so far as to support that bill if the administration does not offer a Plan B. But one senior Democratic source told Fox News that, at a closed meeting Wednesday, Democrats made clear to the administration that they need a proposed fix before Friday’s vote.

The White House has vowed to come up with a solution, but so far has not provided much detail on what such a solution would entail. Press Secretary Jay Carney said Wednesday that the president will make an announcement on possible options “sooner rather than later.”

One senior House Democrat characterized the meeting Wednesday as “heated.” The source said the session consisted of “members telling the administration that they screwed it up and now we have to explain it to the public.”

Another source said that it helps for the administration to hear frank talk “from their friends that they need to get back in front of the problem.”

“No more excuses, just get it done,” the source said.

Of course, if these same Democrats had listened to their constituents three years ago, we would not be in this mess would we? Frankly, every Democrat who voted for Obamacare deserves to get thrown out of office over this.
