Democrat who voted for Obama Care: It is not fair to subject Congress to Obama Care

14 Jun

The Congressman in question? John Larsen, your Weasel of the Day

Via Forbes:

When the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (“Obamacare”) was being debated, proponents were accused of saddling Americans with inferior and expensive health care while keeping generous coverage for themselves at taxpayer expense. To rebut that allegation and build confidence in the bill, a provision was added mandating that members of Congress – and their staff members – get their coverage through the new exchange system the bill set up. Now that the time to sign up for exchange coverage is nearing, a Democratic member, Rep. John Larson (D., Conn.), is saying that “this is simply not fair” – as key staff members head for the exits to avoid Obamacare.

Politico reports that “many on Capitol Hill fear it could lead to a brain drain” and notes that “[t]he problem is far more acute in the House, where lawmakers and aides are generally younger and less wealthy.”

But, we were told that Obama Care was wonderful, and that it would cut health care costs. Yet Larson VOTED for the bill, he voted for it KNOWING it would hurt the poor and middle class, funny how that Democratic compassion for working Americans work isn’t it?

Armed IRS agents steal millions of Americans medical records?

Dude, this is really bad. Just because the IRS has been given Obamacare doesn’t give them the right to steal medical records from private companies. The House has launched an investigation into this. Video at the link. Below is another video report

That awkward moment when you realize that Obama Care WILL be the biggest clusterfuck in history

1 Jun

Via Chris Wysocki, who is pretty fly for a Jersey Guy

Are you one of the millions of Americans who’ve suffered in silence after being pecked by a macaw?

Then Obamacare is for you!

Physicians currently have about 18,000 medical diagnostic codes to choose from to help them inform insurers of their patients’ ailments. However, as [Sen. Rand] Paul (himself a physician) notes, Obamacare includes a mandate for 140,000 of those codes — and some of them sound downright ridiculous.

“Included among these codes,” the senator continued, “will be 312 new codes for injuries from animals; 72 new codes for injuries just from birds; 9 new codes for ‘injuries from the macaw.”‘

“The macaw?” he asked. “I’ve asked physicians all over the country, ‘Have you ever seen an injury from a macaw?”‘

What about turtle bites? You’re in luck, Obamacare’s got you covered. And if that turtle merely sideswiped your leg? Rest assured your pain and suffering will be alleviated.

He continued, adding that he had found “two new injury codes under Obamacare for ‘injuries sustained from a turtle.”‘

“Now, you might say, ‘Well, turtles are dangerous’ — but why do you have to have two codes?” he asked.  “Your doctor has to inform the government whether you’ve been struck by a turtle or bitten by a turtle.”

And just because Barack Obama deeply cares about you, should that turtle bite you while your water skis are on fire, you’re completely covered!

He added:  “There is a new code for … walking into a lamppost. There’s also a code for ‘walking into a lamppost, subsequent encounter.’”

“I guess that’s if you don’t learn,” he added. “[T]here is [also] a code … for ‘injuries sustained from burning water skis.”‘

Ah, so that’s how your water skis caught fire; you walked into a lamppost! Twice!

Who dreams up this stuff?

What about if your head explodes while trying to figure out the code for being attacked by a midget wearing a sundress and a hockey mask? Is there a code for that?

You know what would really help our economy?

3 May

A time machine. See with a time machine we could all go back to 1979. Why 1979? Well Chris Wysocki figures that today’s “bright” economic news, unemployment hit 7.5%, would really be good news, if this was 1979.

Good news America! The unemployment rate has dropped again! It’s now at 7.5%, and employers are adding more jobs than ever!

U.S. employers added 165,000 jobs in April, and hiring was much stronger in the previous two months than the government first estimated. The job increases helped reduce the unemployment rate from 7.6 percent to a four-year low of 7.5 percent.

The government revised up its estimate of job gains in February and March by a combined 114,000. It now says employers added 332,000 jobs in February and 138,000 in March. The economy has created an average of 208,000 jobs a month from November through April — above the 138,000 added in the previous six months.

Alas every silver lining has a cloud. Or 2.

First, the workforce participation rate remains stubbornly stuck at 63.3%, the lowest it’s been since 1979. Because once you’ve given up, you’ve given up. And your president has likewise given up on you.

Second, and perhaps more ominously, ObamaCare is pushing more and more people into part-time work.

Many part-timers are facing a double whammy from President Obama’s Affordable Care Act. The law requires large employers offering health insurance to include part-time employees working 30 hours a week or more. But rather than provide healthcare to more workers, a growing number of employers are cutting back employee hours instead.

See! Even good news is bad news in Obamaland. So, would we REALLY be better to go back to 1979? Well, in 1979, Carter was president, and things were not great at all. But there was no Obamacare looming over us, and do you recall what happened the very next year? Yep, Reagan was elected! Also, there was no MSNBS, no reality TV, of course there was no internet, and no blogs, so, what would I be doing with my time?

If Obamacare is soooooo great……

25 Apr

….then why are Democrats seeking exemptions for their aides

Republicans and Democrats are meeting right now in discussions to exempt staffers from this horrible law.
The Politico reported:

Congressional leaders in both parties are engaged in high-level, confidential talks about exempting lawmakers and Capitol Hill aides from the insurance exchanges they are mandated to join as part of President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul, sources in both parties said.

The talks — which involve Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), the Obama administration and other top lawmakers — are extraordinarily sensitive, with both sides acutely aware of the potential for political fallout from giving carve-outs from the hugely controversial law to 535 lawmakers and thousands of their aides. Discussions have stretched out for months, sources said.

A source close to the talks says: “Everyone has to hold hands on this and jump, or nothing is going to get done.”

Yet if Capitol Hill leaders move forward with the plan, they risk being dubbed hypocrites by their political rivals and the American public. By removing themselves from a key Obamacare component, lawmakers and aides would be held to a different standard than the people who put them in office.

Any Republican who does not stand against this deserves to be voted OUT of office!

The real price of Obamacare equals the stupidity of “gimme” voters

16 Apr

We are sinking as a nation, and one big reason is Americans who, as I say vote with their hands out. Call the gimme voters, or what will the government do for me voters, or low info voters, or just simply morons, whatever you prefer. As Matt explains, these people are stuck in the pit of  entitlements, and they are taking us down with them.

It’s a shame that so many Obama voter are suffering the consequences of their vote.  But, then again, being a “low information voter” is a choice.  The information was out there, freely available.  People could  have looked up the facts and known that they were in for it if the voted Democrat.  But, too many listened to the MSM, or their union boss, and now, they are paying the price-literally and figuratively.  FOX News has the latest example, the Regal Entertainment Group,

The nation’s largest movie theater chain has cut the hours of thousands of employees, saying in a company memo that ObamaCare requirements are to blame.

Regal Entertainment Group, which operates more than 500 theaters in 38 states, last month rolled back shifts for non-salaried workers to 30 hours per week, putting them under the threshold at which employers are required to provide health insurance. The Nashville-based company said in a letter to managers that the move was a direct result of ObamaCare.

So, that “free” health care is going to cost these workers in two ways. First, their paychecks are going to shrink. Secondly, they are STILL obligated to buy health care. Remember that individual mandate? And, with health insurance premiums rising………….well figure out who will be hit the very hardest? Yep! The little guy. Of course, I would be remiss if I did not mention that John Roberts, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, massive pile of dung that he is, also bares tremendous blame. I do not not know which is worse, a fool who votes out of greed without considering the consequences, or a fool who knows what is right, and screws the Constitution and America anyway.

Follow the Liberal Logic here

24 Feb

Liberals care about the poor, the working class, the “little” guy. They care about kids. They care, which is why they want higher taxes on the “rich”. They care about Mother Nature, so they support higher gas prices. They care, so they demand more regulation, more taxation, more government. I had a guy tell me the other day that I should have voted for Obama, because he “cares” about poor people. Hmmm, if the Left cares so much, why do their policies always impact those they “care” so much about? You know, like millions LOSING their employer insurance because of Obamacare? Or the spike in health care premiums because of Obamacare? Or the fact that those with pre-existing conditions might not be helped by Obamacare? Or paying almost $1,000 a year more for gas?

So, who will be able to afford health insurance by the time Obamacare is fully implemented?

7 Feb

the premiums are going higher and higher, the tax burden is increasing, fuel prices are not going down, making everything cost more. And the regulations by the EPA will certainly spike energy prices, and now, another regulation in Obamacare will make your trips to the grocery store even more expensive

The nasty effects of Obamacare just keep on coming. Today it’s grocery stores complaining about a costly new rule that could raise the cost of doing business. As usual, those costs will be passed along to the consumers.

Supermarket owners argue a pending federal food-labeling rule that stems from the new health care law would overburden thousands of grocers and convenience store owners — to the tune of $1 billion in the first year alone.

Store owner Tom Heinen said the industry’s profit margins already are razor thin. “When you incur a significant cost, there is no way that that doesn’t get passed on to the customer in some form,” he said.

The rule stems from an ObamaCare mandate that restaurants provide nutrition information on menus. Most in the restaurant industry were supportive of the idea, but when the FDA decided to extend the provision to also affect thousands of supermarkets and convenience stores, the backlash was swift.

The proposed regulation would require store owners to label prepared, unpackaged foods found in salad bars and food bars, soups and bakery items. Erik Lieberman, regulatory counsel at the Food Marketing Institute, said testing foods for nutritional data will require either expensive software or even more costly off-site laboratory assessments.

Lieberman said failure to get it right comes with stiff penalties: ”If you get it wrong, it’s a federal crime, and you could face jail time and thousands of dollars worth of fines.” (Read More)

Well, what do you expect. the government cannot do anything without screwing it up can they? All in the name of :controlling costs” and helping the little guy. Helping the little guy to what? Get into poverty? God help us because things are just going to get worse.

You might think that Juan Williams would just stop trying to debate Michelle Malkin

7 Feb

Another night on Hannity, another epic beating suffered by Juan Wlliams

The video will not embed, but go watch it and watch Williams desperately trying to defend the train wreck that is Obamacare. Is he that stupid, or is he  just willing to look like a complete fool rather than criticize his dear leader. Only a useful idiot could look at the evidence, the skyrocketing health care premiums, the people getting OUT of the medical field, the employers cutting hours to avoid being destroyed by the cost of insuring full-time employees, and the rising estimate of what Obamacare will cost, and say, calm down.

Saying Obamacare sucks is easy, but complying with it?

6 Feb

Welcome to Statism America

Via Washington Examiner:

Complying with the raging tsunami of new Obamacare rules and regulations will cost American businesses and families 127 million hours annually, enough time to carve out another 1,039 Mount Rushmores which took 14 years complete, according to a new House report.

Based on figures from President Obama’s own Office of Management and Budget and Internal Revenue Service, the new report provided to Secrets reveals that the health reform law set to fully go into effect in 11 months will be the most costly federal burden to hit American in generations. And that hardship will grow as more rules are released.

Just consider: Using the lowest possible wage of an employee complying with Obamacare paperwork–the federal minimum wage–it will cost nearly $1 billion. Put another way: The Empire State building, which took 7 million hours to build, could be erected another 17 times in the time required every year to handle Obamacare rules and regulations.

Ah yes, the inherent incompetence of our government on full display. When we elect buffoons and corruptocrats to office, they pass bills like this, even while we scream not to pass them. And, rather than pass bills that are small, easy to understand an implement, and, yes transparent, Congress passes bills so large no  human being could ever fully grasp them. Put it this way, if you called Congress to fix your flat tire, it would go this way. First they would debate for days about the best way to do it. Then they would take three months to actually change your tire. Then they would hand you  a bill for 12,000,000 dollars, and after all of that, not only would your flat tire still be flat, but so would your spare, your other three tires, and your car would need a new engine as well.

You can expect Obamacre to be a lot like Obamanomics

5 Feb

That is to say, you can expect it to be worse than anyone ever expected. Moonbattery has the bleak preview. All your medical records belong to us now

Britain gives us another preview of life in a country where government has seized control of the healthcare sector:

GPs [general practitioners] are to be forced to hand over confidential records on all their patients’ drinking habits, waist sizes and illnesses.

The files will be stored in a giant information bank that privacy campaigners say represents the ‘biggest data grab in NHS history’.

They warned the move would end patient confidentiality and hand personal information to third parties.

The data includes weight, cholesterol levels, body mass index, pulse rate, family health history, alcohol consumption and smoking status.

Healthcare is a limited commodity. If it is not to be allocated by price in the free market, but rather be provided by the government, it must be rationed. Knowing who has been smoking, drinking, eating too much, et cetera will be helpful to bureauweenies in deciding who gets healthcare and who does not.

GPs will be required to send monthly updates on their patients to a central database run by the NHS’s Health and Social Care Information Centre.

I am sure many are shaking their heads reading this. They are likely saying “here he goes again with that death panel stuff.” Well, sorry, but that is reality folks. At some point, it will come down to that, and the bigger the government role the more likely it will be a government decision who gets what care. Of course, many folks only hear one word when universal health care is discussed. That word is “free”. Boy, how surprised are they going to be one day when they realize the cost of that ” free” health care.

Update! The Other McCain has some thoughts on the unexpected cost of the greatest lie ever

Everything Democrats say is a lie. Remember what they promisedObamaCare would do, now that we see what it actually does:

Remember when they said it would actually save money for the federal government? Remember when they said nobody would lose their current insurance? Lies, lies, all lies. The Democratic Party is so deliberately dishonest that no decent person would ever vote for any Democrat.

How true, the Democratic Party has devolved into the Lying Party. I often ask how anyone can support an ideology that requires complete dishonesty. Seriously, if you are still a Democrat, then you either like being lied to, enjoy living in complete ignorance, or support the Neo-Marxist direction of the Democrats. So, which is it?

Shocker of the day! Useless race pimp Toure still obsessed with skin color

17 Jan

Race Pimping Toure is back, and he has found more RAAAAACISM!! Of course this tool could find RAAAAACISM anywhere, because he figures he can emulate Al Sharpton and Je$$e Jack$on and make a living out of screaming RAAAAACISM!

Via Mediaite:

. . . “The slew of secession petitions out of the south really interests me,” Touré said. “This idea that there are a lot of Southern people who want to have nothing to do with Obama’s America. And I don’t think you can say that there’s any policy that has changed America so much that…”

“Obamacare,” Cupp suggested.

“That has not been enacted yet,” Touré replied. “I think they’re talking about, ‘we don’t want to be in a country run by a black man.’

The fact is that these petitions came from almost every state, but of course, Toure spins this like just us backwards hicks in the South signed the petitions. The South is, of course, always the favorite punching bag for any Leftist that wants to cry racism, and Toure is just going back to that Well of BS the Left has almost run dry. My only question is where will the Toure Tour of RAAAAACISM go next? Where can he find RAAAAACISM next? It really could be anywhere, but, if Toure REALLY wanted to find genuine bigotry and hatred, he could just look in the mirror, or at almost any MSNBS host.

A list of President Obama’s 23 executive orders on gun violence

17 Jan

Via the Lid, who sums up the usefulness of these EO’s

What a pile of nothing. Both the POTUS and the SCHMOTUS had been warning that Obama would take hard constructive action on gun control.  For days advocates of the constitution were worried that Obama would seek to destroy the Second Amendment by executive fiat. Instead his actions were the typical political “We will do better and we will study.” One thing the POTUS missed…there is no executive order preventing the Federal Government from selling weapons to Mexican Drug Cartels…everyone would support that one.

Basically, these 23 EO’s are a pile of emptiness. Of course, the Democrats can use these later when they do nothing at all to stop the next high-profile shooting. They can then tell us that they did not go far enough. Of course, they can say the very same thing if they get a new assault weapon ban pushed through too. They new that new gun laws will not prevent the next school shooting, but, they are hoping they can get some more restrictions in place now. Then, when those restrictions are ineffective, they can use their emotional appeals to aim for even more restrictions in the future. The Left is all about getting what they want incrementally folks. This is why we must never sleep on them. They are persistent if nothing else.

Chris, at Wyblog points out two troublesome items from the list

16. Clarify that the Affordable Care Act does not prohibit doctors asking their patients about guns in their homes.

17. Release a letter to health care providers clarifying that no federal law prohibits them from reporting threats of violence to law enforcement authorities.

I do not like these either. I have never had a doctor ask me about guns in my home, and I would never answer such a question, but, again, this is one of those cases where we might rightfully wonder where these two executive orders could lead.

Your doctor is spying on you. And depending on what you tell him, he’ll rat you out to Dear Leader faster than you can say “Second Amendment.” Because it’s now his duty to ask you about your guns.

Newark, NJ Mayor Cory Booker started us down the fascist trail by offering a $1,000 bounty to folks who turn in their gun-owning neighbors. Dear Leader took it one better. Your doctor can’t tell you if your teenage daughter asks for birth control pills. But now he’s required to tell the feds if you own a gun.

Remember when asking librarians to report “suspicious” reference requests was tantamount to detonating the pillars of our civilization? Me neither.

Yeah, so much for that patient confidentialty and “right to privacy” thing. It only applies when it doesn’t conflict with progressive groupthink. Like I said, fascism.

As I stated above, never trust the political Left. Always assume they have ulterior motives. And remember that their number one priority has always been total control of our lives.

Obama Care is like a steel toed boot to the nuts of working Americans!

12 Jan

I once wrote that Democrats are the single worst enemy of working Americans. Sad to say, I hate being right sometimes.

Via Twitchy:

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi famously said of Obamacare: “We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what’s in it.

Nearly three years later, many Americans are beginning to discover what’s in it.

Taco Bell employees in Oklahoma City, Okla., found out.

Wendy’s employees in Obama, Neb., found out.

And now many other low-wage workers (and their relatives) are finding out, too.

Thank you Obama care for cutting my son’s hours @ work. He is working @ McDonald’s w/ 38 hours a week now 28. He will be job hunting now

2 of my daughters got their hours cut below 30 hours bc of obamacare.

@BarackObama my paycheck got smaller and my sons hours got cut back becuase of obamacare. you were to help the middle class not destroy it!

Add to this increasing health insurance premiums, and you REALLY get an idea of how disastrous this bill will be when it takes full effect. Which reminds me of something I need to say. Fuck You Chief Justice Useful Idiot John Roberts

Can we save companies like Hobby Lobby from Obamacare?

30 Dec

Hobby Lobby is a company run by Christians, and has vowed to not go along with parts of Obamacare

The owners of Hobby Lobby say they must remain true to their faith, despite the U.S. Supreme Court’s refusal to block the Obamacare contraception mandate.

Their attorney said the company will not provide the morning-after and week-after pills in its employee insurance plan when the health care mandate takes effect Jan. 1.

“The company will continue to provide health insurance to all qualified employees,” attorney Kyle Duncan said in a statement posted on Hobby Lobby’s website.

“To remain true to their faith, it is not their intention, as a company, to pay for abortion-inducing drugs,” he said.

Hobby Lobby risks fines of more than a million dollars a day for ignoring the Obamacare mandate.

Let that sink in folks. The government will eventually bankrupt a corporation for not violating the deeply held faith of its owners. Freedom of religion? Not any more apparently. The Democrats, of course, tell us they are the “Party of  Working Americans”. Really? How will the war on Hobby Lobby, and other companies owned by people of faith serve those working for those companies? How will the death of Hobby Lobby benefit those working Americans? Or perhaps the Democrats are fine with more unemployed Americans. Maybe to them that just means more of us dependent on government, which seems to be the goal of the Democrats. The more dependency on government, the greater the chance Democrats will dominate the political power in America. And, yes, power is more important to the Left than putting the country first.

This video, via The Right Scoop features Michelle Malkin talking about both the fiscal cliff and Hobby Lobby.

Michelle raises the point that we must stand with Hobby Lobby. A point I agree with entirely. But, if Hobby Lobby is being fined $1.3 million dollars a day, can we shop there enough to keep them afloat? The real issue with Hobby Lobby is this. They are not a company that will play ball with Team Obama. Companies that do play ball have received waivers from Obamacare. Now we are told these waivers are only temporary, but really, can we trust this administration to be honest about  that? This is the biggest issue here in the end. This administration, and likely future Democratic administrations will continue to play Chicago style politics. We, of course, have in our Constitution, constraints against government encroachment upon our rights. But, we also have a bunch of politicians who do not care about that document they took an oath to protect and defend. And, thanks to the gutlessness of the Chief-Justice of the Supreme Court, Obamcare is the law of the land. So, now what? Any ideas?

Team Obama, detached, clueless, buffoons

22 Nov

This video at The Weekly Standard speaks very poorly of the Obama administration

Absolutely incredible. Is she really this clueless? Likely not, she is lying, she knows damn well Obamacare is hurting small businesses. The real question is this. Does she care? Is she just another Neo-Marxist that loathes America and Individualism? Or is she just a useful idiot, put in her position precisely because of her incredible stupidity? Whatever the answer is, it illustrates how detached from this nation’s principles this administration really is.

Obamacare is already strangling small medical practices

21 Nov

The creeping illness of Socialism is beginning to take effect, and, as always, it is the  people, and small businesses that get it hardest, and first! The Lonely Conservative has more

Obamacare hasn’t yet been fully implemented but it’s already driving up the cost of health care and killing small medical practices. At the same time, it’s helping big hospitals become even bigger.

Thomas Lewandowski, a Wisconsin heart doctor, was faced with a dilemma after his Medicare payments were cut and his overhead costs soared: Fire half his staff to keep his practice open, or sell it to a local hospital.

He decided to sell, becoming one of more than 6,000 employees at Thedacare, which runs five hospitals and numerous clinics in northeast Wisconsin. It’s a decision being made increasingly in the U.S., creating a new dynamic that threatens to raise the price of health care, even as the federal government and states strain to keep a lid on costs.

Under Medicare’s tangled payment system, hospitals get higher reimbursements than individual doctors for cardiology treatment, as they do for other specialty services, in some cases as much as three times more. At the same time, the added bargaining power gained by controlling more of the heart care in a geographic market has given large hospital systems added leverage in negotiating reimbursements from insurers, such as UnitedHealth Group Inc. (UNH) and WellPoint Inc. (WLP)

One cardiologist said the people who concocted these payments schemes need to have their heads examined. He also said his previous plan to work well into his retirement years has been scrapped.

For cardiologists, the move to hospitals has good and bad aspects, according to Lewandowski, the Wisconsin heart doctor who sold his practice in 2010. While they may gain more stable incomes, doctors often have less freedom over how they care for their patients under strict hospital protocols. Some doctors are also under pressure to see more patients each day when they are employed by a hospital, he said.

“I miss being in private practice and being my own boss,” said Alexander, the Illinois cardiologist. “I would have said 30 years ago that I planned on dying with my boots on, and practicing until I couldn’t practice anymore.

‘‘Now, do I look forward to retirement?’’ he asked. ‘‘Yes. Do I plan on working forever? No.’’

Go read it all. As I noted, it is the very people Socialists claim to be helping that are crushed first. The small businesses go under the wheels too of course. The LOnely Conservative links Timothy Carney, who explains how this works

This is standard. Dodd-Frank looks like it is making big banks bigger. Toy-safety regulation has accrued to the benefit of the big toymakers while killing Mom n Pop competitors. Wal-Mart’s support for theemployer mandate in health insurance and a higher minimum wage weren’t philanthropy. There’s a reason Philip Morris supported FDA regulation of tobacco and smaller cigarette companies called it the “Marlboro Monopoly Act.”

Again, here we go, down the road that Socialism paves. The Road that leads to broken promises, human suffering, and greatly diminished liberty, and choice? Soon that will be gone too. Unless you call being herded into one massive hospital, or another massive hospital. And, of course, the poor will be hardest hit there too, once the IRS starts enforcing that mandate that we MUST buy health care. So, they will be the first to be herded won’t they? And, as more and more of us join them, the system will go broke, and then what?

Remember freedom?

20 Nov

Chris at Wyblog asks that question, and does a great job reminding us that we are not as free as we should be, and not as free as the Founders intended. It is a tremendous piece that will jar you. And we all could use some jarring, our liberty is slowly being sapped away from us. So slowly, we do not even understand that we are becoming subjects, rather than citziens

We have a State Religion now. Tolerance. Led of course by the High Priests of Homosexuality, where the agenda is compulsory approval. What they label “equality” is in fact totalitarianism. Reject the Rainbow Flag and you’re guilty of “discrimination”, then ostracized and marginalized. Sooner or later homosexuality will be compulsory, with penalties for non-compliance. If you don’t believe me, check out the brouhaha in Trans Francisco over the heretofore unpublished “right” to parade around in the altogether while out in public.

Rights which are enumerated are jettisoned in favor of invented “rights”. Because the new stuff is cool, and what did a bunch of dead white guys really know anyway?

Then there’s the free exercise of religion, a shadow of its original intent. Obamacare is the final nail in its coffin. When the atheists start going after Charlie Brown you know you’ve lost the war.

But we still have Free Speech, right? Ask Mark Basseley Youssef about that one. He’s currently doing a year of hard time for making Dear Leader look bad in front of his Arab friends.

Wanna peaceably assemble? You need a permit for that. And don’t you dare conduct bible study in your own home, that’s a zoning violation.

Petition your government? Write the EPA and find yourself on the terrorist watch list. Protest anywhere near Dear Leader or one of his henchmen, that’s now a felony. Your government doesn’t want to hear from you. Not unless you’ve got a friend on K Street and a blank check made out to “Re-election Fund”. Then they’ll pretend to care.

Powerful stuff go read the rest!

Another failure of Obamacare looms

10 Oct

This is a pretty simple fact, if Congress passes a law mandating that companies with more than 50 full-time employees provide health coverage for those workers, then those companies, rather than absorbing those massive costs, will simply cut employees hours. What idiot could not see that coming? Well, the idiots that passed Obamacare could not, Smitty explains

Bluegrass Pundit links the WaPo discussing the unintended consequences of ObamaCare:

Darden Restaurants Inc. declined to give details but said the test is only in four markets across the country. The move entails boosting the number of workers on part-time status, meaning they work less than 30 hours a week.
Under the new health care law, companies with 50 or more workers could be hit with fines if they do not provide basic coverage for full-time workers and their dependents

The market will always respond to any attempt by government to add more costs. Anyone with a basic grasp of economics knows this. And those workers, which in restaurants are going to include servers, and bartenders will be hit especially hard. Those workers toil for tips, not the two or three bucks they get an hour, so hours lost are tips lost. Again, Democrats show they do not give a rat’s you know what about working Americans.

Liberals say the funniest things part 678

7 Oct

Obama made a reference to the Cleveland Clinic during last weeks debate. He praised the clinic, but, he forgot to mention one small detail, a detail Chris caught That clinic would be illegal under ObamaCare

Standing up for his health care law during last night’s debate President Obama cited the Cleveland Clinic as a “model” for how Obamacare should be implemented nationwide.

But there’s only one small problem with that. Something my blog bud Proof pointed out in the commentsto my debate post.

I think it deserves to be highlighted, maybe in an ad from the RNC. Because it’s a doozy.

The Cleveland Clinic is owned by doctors. But thanks to Obamacare it’s illegal for doctors to own hospitals.

Section 6001 of the health care law effectively bans new physician-owned hospitals (POHs) from starting up, and it keeps existing ones from expanding. It has already halted the development of 24 new physician-owned hospitals and forced an additional 47 to struggle to meet the deadline to complete construction, according to the Physician Hospitals of America (PHA).

You couldn’t build the Cleveland Clinic today if you wanted to.

Wow! What an indictment for Obama’s health care bill. Of course it is possible Obama did not know, I mean the bill is so massive, no one knows everything that is in it! More here

As Politico reports, “Physician Hospitals of America says that construction had to stop at 45 hospitals nationwide or they would not be able to bill Medicare for treatments.”

Jeffrey Anderson, at the Weekly Standard

This little-noticed but particularly egregious aspect of Obamacare is, by all accounts, a concession to the powerful American Hospital Association (AHA), a supporter of Obamacare, which prefers to have its member hospitals operate without competition from hospitals owned by doctors.  Dr. Michael Russell, president of Physician Hospitals of America, which has filed suit to try to stop this selective building-ban from going into effect, says, “There are so many regulations [in Obamacare] and they are so onerous and intrusive that we believe that the section [Section 6001] was deliberately designed so no physician owned hospital could successfully comply.”

Artz writes, “According to Russell, the AHA, along with Sen. [Max] Baucus (D-MT) and Congressman Pete Stark (D-CA), are responsible for the language in Section 6001.”

Is anyone really surprised that such garbage is in this bill. Such items will hurt, not help make health care better, but they will benefit the AHA, and sellouts like Baucus and Stark.
