Former Navy SEAL Dom Raso has a special message for NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg and others like him who are pushing for more gun control: “If you really cared about the American people, you’d stand up for more freedom for them, and not more power and status for yourself.”

The 12-year veteran is one of the newest NRA News contributors and has just released a diatribe against politicians who say they stand up for American safety but are quick to sacrifice essential freedom.

“It is unbelievable that politicians like Mayor Bloomberg think that they are experts on personal protection,” Raso says in the video. “Me and the guys I fought with, we didn’t go to war so that some politician could dictate whatever he thinks is best for the American people.”

“What have those guys ever accomplished that gives them any credibility on the subject of personal protection?” he adds later:

Democrat Politician Scolds Child With Special Needs In Restaurant, Skips Out On Bill

Everett Politician Accused Of Berating Child With Special Needs In Public – WFXT

An elected official for the City of Everett is accused of berating a child with special needs while dining at the Texas Roadhouse located in Everett on March 6.

The incident involving Wayne Matewsky, who is running for state representative, was discussed during Monday night’s meeting at city hall. The common council voted unanimously 16 to zero to have the city’s ethics committee look into the allegations.

Dozens of Everett residents attended the meeting; however, not all the residents were displeased with Matewsky or his alleged actions. Many said they would stand by Matewsky, his reputation, his commitment to the city, and his lengthy public service career.

“He is hard working very ethical and caring person. He represents this city with great dignity and honesty,” one such resident said.

Witnesses told FOX 25 that Matewsky got into a heated verbal argument with the child’s father because the child was being noisy; however, Matewsky denies that the incident ever happened and that the allegations are politically motivated.

A spokesperson for Texas Roadhouse painted a different story telling the city councilors in a letter that Matewsky used “foul language” and berated employees. The spokesman claims Matewsky left without paying his bill and even threatened to have the health department shut the restaurant down.

Revere resident and father Michael Toto says he was at the restaurant that night, and witnessed Matewsky yelling at the family because Matewsky felt the family couldn’t control the child, so Toto brought it to the attention of the common council.

Matewsky has since reportedly apologized to the restaurant’s staff.

“We are pleased that Mr. Matewsky has since apologized to our staff for this unfortunate incident. We are willing to forgive and forget, and consider this matter closed,” Texas Roadhouse said in a statement.

Matewsky, a 30-year veteran of Everett politics, topped four other Democrats, including former Mayor John Hanlon, in special election primary to replace Democrat Stephen “Stat” Smith, who resigned from the House after agreeing to plead guilty to casting invalid absentee ballots. He will face two un-enrolled candidates in the April 2 special election.

The ethics committee will begin their investigation and depending on what they find, they could expel Matewsky from the council. They are hoping to complete their investigation by April 4, but then again the special election for state representative is slated for April 2.

Bulgarian Politician Ahmed Dogan Was Nearly Assassinated On Live TV – International Business Times

A Bulgarian politician was nearly assassinated on live television while giving a speech on Saturday afternoon as an assailant broke into a political-party conference and held a gun to his head.

Ahmed Dogan, 58, leader of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, was delivering a speech in Sofia when a man later identified as Oktai Enimehmedov, 25, rushed the stage and held the leader at gunpoint. For a moment, the gunman hesitated, and Dogan attempted to knock his hand away. Then, Dogan and his assailant fell to the ground before security and other party members apprehended the assailant, according to the Sofia Globe.

A local TV station captured the entire event, from Dogan’s speech to the attempted assassin’s arrest. Footage of the incident shows that not only was the assailant apprehended soon after pointing a gun at Dogan, but, once he was on the ground, several party members repeatedly kicked him in the face and torso.

“Ahmed Dogan is in good health. Everything is under control,” party official Ceyhan Ibryamov told Reuters after the harrowing incident.

Gawker contended that footage of the event showed Enimehmedov not only pointed the gun at Dogan’s head, but also pulled the trigger twice. If this were the case, it would appear Enimehmedov’s gun jammed during the assassination attempt.

Bulgaria’s Interior Ministry said in a statement that Enimehmedov is from the city of Bourgas and has two previous criminal convictions. The would-be assassin was convicted for causing bodily harm in 2006 and drug possession in 2010. Enimehmedov is a Bulgarian national who is ethnically Turkish.

In addition to the gun, authorities later found two knives on Enimehmedov’s person.

Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov told reporters an investigation is under way.

Dogan’s party is a strongly liberal organization in Bulgaria and attempts to represent ethnic Turks and other Muslims who, together, make up roughly 12 percent of Bulgaria’s population.

Another Corrupt Democrat Politician Goes To Prison

Former City Councilman Larry Seabrook Sentenced To Five Years For Misappropriation Of Funds – New York Daily News

Former City councilman Larry Seabrook will spend five years in prison for misdirecting hundreds of thousands of dollars for community projects to his girlfriend and family members.

Seabrook, 61, was sentenced Tuesday. His surrender date is March 8.

“I will continue to fight in the service of people. I truly love the northeast Bronx,” the Bronx Democrat said during his sentencing.

He described himself as a “proud man” to Judge Deborah Batts, who acknowledged his many years in public service as she addressed him from the bench.

Batts said his many achievements had been irrevocably tarnished by his own “sense of entitlement and greed.”

Seabrook had “held himself above the law and betrayed the public trust by using his public office to enrich himself and others,” Batts said.

Seabrook was convicted of 9 of 12 counts in a trial last summer in Manhattan federal court. The conviction came a year after another jury deadlocked on fraud charges.

Before he was arrested, Seabrook also had served as a state assemblyman and a senator. He has continued to deny wrongdoing.

The government says Seabrook diverted money from 2002 through 2009.

It says he directed more than $2 million of funds to nonprofit organizations he controlled but were not doing legitimate work.

U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara said Seabrook “sacrificed the public trust on the altar of greed.”

He applauded the 5-year sentence, saying it vindicated the taxpayers that Seabrook had cheated.

“We remain committed to making those who are corrupted by power pay the price, and the public can expect more arrests of politicians who have not learned this lesson,” Bharara said.

Oh I see the same professional politicians who helped create our housing crisis by forcing banks to make loans to people with a less than stellar credit rating. The same professional politicians who are destroying the value of our dollar QE1 and QE2.  The same politicians who raided the Social Security trust fund.  And finally the same politicians whose spending is so out of control we can’t even guarantee that Social Security checks will get out if our credit limit isn’t raised.
