On January 19, thousands of 2nd Americans from every state rallied at their state capitols to show their support for the 2nd Amendment and send a message to Congress. The MSM pretty much ignored the huge numbers, so now it’s time for round two:

Good grief. The Left is good at redefining words, and phrases. When it comes to guns, and gun control, the Left throws the term semi-automatic around constantly. They also invented the term “assault weapon”. They do this to create, in the minds of the public, images. Images of machine guns, spewing hundreds or rounds in seconds. these images frighten people. Then the Left comes along and says “Look what the NRA supports! They support everyone owning these semi-automatic weapons”. And meaningful debate on the topic is therefore largely destroyed, and replaced with hyperbole and emotional arguments, which benefits the Left. Fully automatic weapons (machine guns) have been illegal for 78 years now. Semi-automatic guns accurately describes most of the guns in this nation. You pull the trigger, the gun fires a round, and chambers the next round, you pull the trigger, the weapon fires again, and so on. It is sad that most Americans get suckered in by the misleading rhetoric of the Left, and even sadder that newsmen like Schieffer do not bother to educate themselves on the topic. This is yet another clear example of why the Left pushes for government-run schools, and mandatory Kindergarten, and preaches that everyone has a “right” to a college education. they want to indoctrinate as many Americans as possible. And they want to teach kids NOT to think, but to emote. they want to teach kids NOT to be pro-active, but to be reactive. The less intelligent the populace, the easier it is for the Left to win elections, and ideological debates.

Also, I had a discussion at work today with two men. One of them was denouncing the “rednecks” who love guns. He seemed to believe that limiting magazine capacity, and limiting the number of bullets one could purchase would be good ideas. As a bartender, I stay out of political conversations, unless someone asks me my opinion. This man did ask for my thoughts. I said the best way to handle the prevention of mass shootings in schools is with armed, trained security. His response made me angry. Without missing a beat he said that we could not afford that. I responded that with all the money spent on education, and the worsening results, we ought to address safety first. And between the States, counties, Washington DC, and parents, the money could be found. What I did not say was that if the government mandates your child attend school, then their first, and most serious obligation is to protect your child.
After the two men paid, one of them, the one that was silent, came back and said I had raised a great point, one that made sense. He noted the heroic principal that went at the gunman. “Too bad she was not armed.” he said. “Yes,” I answered “maybe she would not have stopped him, but, she would have had a much better chance.” I find it odd that Liberals wish to continue NOT allowing people like that principal even the choice of carrying a gun.
Final… Oh wait, my bad, they actually onlyvoted to ban the word “lunatic” from federal law. For a minute there I bet you thought these worthless shit bags were actually going to do their freaking jobs!

The word “lunatic” will be stricken from federal law under legislation that passed the House on Wednesday and is headed to President Obama for his signature.

The lone “no” vote was cast by Representative Louie Gohmert, Republican of Texas, who said in a statement that “not only should we not eliminate the word ‘lunatic’ from federal law when the most pressing issue of the day is saving our country from bankruptcy, we should use the word to describe the people who want to continue with business as usual in Washington.”
So, in 225 years, America has gone from Jefferson, Madison, Franklin, Washington, Mason, etc. to THIS! One man, ONE in the entire House gets it? And the Republicans have a big majority in the House! Dear God we are so screwed!

Melissa Lecker is walking outside her three-bedroom home in downtown Wausau, Wis., and talking about her dogs.
“These dogs are our family,” she says as she looks down at two 13-year-old golden retrievers, Abbie and Jesse.
Right behind her are her 1-year-old Yorkie, Archie, and Chester, her 3-year-old shih tzu.
“They are just like our children,” she says.
In fact, she says emphatically her four dogs are more important to her than her money or even her home.
“This house doesn’t mean as much to us as they do.”
Ironic because it’s the house she and her husband are set to lose because of their love for their pups.
James and Melissa moved to Wausau in early January, buying a new home and what they thought was the beginning of a great life in Wausau.
What they didn’t know is Wausau has an ordinance limiting the number of pets.
In Wausau, for instance, you can’t have more than three cats, three gerbils or three rabbits. And, unfortunately for the Leckers, you can’t have more than two dogs.

There have been several incidents of vandalism of Confederate monuments here in Virginia in recent months.
There are just some things that get my temper going, and this is one of them. I am well past fed up with these fools that trash Confederate soldiers as racists, are saying they fought over slavery. That is, frankly, a load of doctored history. Sadly many well-educated folks buy into it, yes, even a good many Conservatives.
Those defacing public monuments are, in my opinion, intolerant extremists. I can’t help but be reminded of what the Taliban did to the ancient Buddhist sculptures in Afghanistan. To be consistent, those who favor this kind of base, uncivilized conduct would have no problem with others doing the same thing to a statue of Lincoln or FDR, or placing their own “interpretative plaques” in order to make a political statement. If the monuments of Lee and other Confederate heroes should be “moved to a museum” (how utterly stupid), then the exact same argument could be made for ALL monuments to ALL our Founding Fathers. Hmmm . . . now just where are we going to put the Washington monument? What about any future monuments to President Obama? Will it be acceptable for his political opponents to paint “Marxist” on some future monument?
So, what is an appropriate punishment for the bigots that commit these acts? Fines? Jail? How about we take a page from Singapore? Cane them! Yes, I am serious. In my experience, miscreants that do such things are spoiled brats that are, as the post title suggests are in desperate need of an ass-whipping!

Then, we learn that a government agency was basically forcing gun store owners to sell large amounts of weapons to straw purchasers for drug cartels. Documents obtained by CBS News show that the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) discussed using their covert operation “Fast and Furious” to argue for controversial new rules about gun sales.
In Fast and Furious, ATF secretly encouraged gun dealers to sell to suspected traffickers for Mexican drug cartels to go after the “big fish.” But ATF whistleblowers told CBS News and Congress it was a dangerous practice called “gunwalking,” and it put thousands of weapons on the street. Many were used in violent crimes in Mexico. Two were found at the murder scene of a U.S. Border Patrol agent.
ATF officials didn’t intend to publicly disclose their own role in letting Mexican cartels obtain the weapons, but emails show they discussed using the sales, including sales encouraged by ATF, to justify a new gun regulation called “Demand Letter 3″. That would require some U.S. gun shops to report the sale of multiple rifles or “long guns.” Demand Letter 3 was so named because it would be the third ATF program demanding gun dealers report tracing information.
On July 14, 2010 after ATF headquarters in Washington D.C. received an update on Fast and Furious, ATF Field Ops Assistant Director Mark Chait emailed Bill Newell, ATF’s Phoenix Special Agent in Charge of Fast and Furious:
“Bill – can you see if these guns were all purchased from the same (licensed gun dealer) and at one time. We are looking at anecdotal cases to support a demand letter on long gun multiple sales. Thanks.”
As I have said, Democrats still hate the 2nd amendment. This also points out that Democrats will use any “tragedy”, even if they have to create one, to shove their agenda down our throats. Every one of these people who took part in this ought to be booted out of office, and possibly charged and tried.
Dallas store clerk attacked by group of young people
The clerk told reporters, “At first, I thought I would be able to get back into the store, and once they got me on the ground, I thought they were going to kill me.” WFAA reported, via Free Republic:
It was an ordinary night, August 26, at the Exxon Tiger Mart at South Polk Street and Interstate 20 in Dallas.
C.J. Thomas, the store’s clerk, was behind the counter when a rush of customers came through the door at 10:12 p.m.
“There was more coming in than going out,” Thomas said. “Once they realized how many were in there, one of the students started throwing stuff and screamed out. Everything after that went crazy.”
Store surveillance cameras from different angles show bottles being thrown.
Seconds later, Thomas ran to the front door. He tried to close it, but he couldn’t hold back the crowd.
Some of them grabbed drinks, chips, and other items and began pushing their way out. Thomas said he tried to stop some people from stealing.
“In the process of them walking out, tried to stop a student with a lot of things in his hands and when I tried to do that, he shoved me out into the parking lot and swung at me,” Thomas said.
Thomas then says several men then pulled him to the ground and started kicking and punching him.
“I was terrified,” he said. “At first, I thought I would be able to get back into the store, and once they got me on the ground, I thought they were going to kill me.”
This type of thuggery is growing more common all the time now. Law enforcement has got to crack down on this. Someone is going to get killed in one of these.
A more radical solution may be needed: why not offer legal protections to the ugly, as we do with racial, ethnic and religious minorities, women and handicapped individuals? We actually already do offer such protections in a few places, including in some jurisdictions in California, and in the District of Columbia, where discriminatory treatment based on looks in hiring, promotions, housing and other areas is prohibited. Ugliness could be protected generally in the United States by small extensions of the Americans With Disabilities Act. Ugly people could be allowed to seek help from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and other agencies in overcoming the effects of discrimination. We could even have affirmative-action programs for the ugly.
Now this could prove problematic for companies that hire attractive people couldn’t it? I mean think of the lawsuits brought by unattractive people who lose out on jobs to hot, sexy people?
Think of employers, what if they have two prospective new hires, one of which looks like Minka Kelly, while the other looks like, well, Rosie O’Donnell? Might they hire the Rosie look-a-like? Might such a case lead to a demand for equal protection for hotties? All of this is important to consider. I suppose Ed and I might want to rethink hiring that new intern now the one working her way through nursing school. DAMN!
A flash mob theft spree occurred Monday at a pricey store on Dupont Circle in Washington DC. See if you can figure out what the media missed in their coverage.

A group of 20 men stole thousands of dollars worth of merchandize from a pricey Washington DC store on Monday.
Just before 6 p.m. Monday, a group of nearly 20 young men enter the trendy – and pricey – G Star Raw store at Connecticut Avenue and R Street near Dupont Circle and began helping themselves to whatever they wanted.
The store is down Connecticut Avenue from the National Zoo and this incident occurred about an hour after the stabbing there.
During their minutes long flash mob theft spree, video, exclusively obtained by ABC7 News, shows the suspects hunting through the merchandise as if they were looking for the right size, sometimes even leisurely. Other kids can be seen outside on cell phones and appear to be acting as lookouts for the police.
Just wondering… when did it become taboo to report the race of a criminal flash mob?
In possibly the worst-timed government announcement ever, Lisa P. Jackson, the administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is currently holding a press conference in Washington, D.C. to announce a new mandate for carmakers: all non-round letters in any badge, nameplate, or other signifier are to be phased out by 2012 in an effort to reduce aerodynamic drag and increase fuel efficiency.
“This is an example of science leading the way in car design. We have put every car on the market through extensive wind tunnel testing and come to the conclusion that the low-hanging fruit of logo drag is simply too juicy not to pluck,” said Jackson. “Toyota, BMW, and Lincoln were the worst offenders. The first phase of the mandate will require all Ms, Ws, Ts, and Ls to be removed.” Gains in efficiency of 3-5 percent are expected immediately.
The House passed a measure Wednesday to revive a school-voucher program for the District of Columbia despite opposition from the mayor, the District’s congressional delegate, teachers and the White House.
Of course they’re all in thrall to the teachers unions. But regardless, why would they want to loosen their death-grip on their near-monopoly? What would be in it for them?
Mayor Vincent Gray (who has wasted no time in making his administration a joke of corruption and nepotism) believes parents should sacrifice their children to this sacred institution because “the city’s public school system is improving.” Good one. Even if it is, and that’s highly debatable, real children are attending these schools now. How bad are they?
For decades, D.C. public schools have been the worst in the nation. The system ranks 51st in the nation, and is plagued by school violence. Only 14% of eighth-graders are proficient in reading. Just 55% of the students in D.C. public schools graduate. During the 2007-08 school year, 3,500 calls were placed from D.C. public schools to the Metropolitan Police Department. More than 900 of those calls were to report school violence such as assault.
It’s downright criminal. But the ruling class is unanimously lined up against school choice of any kind, all the while pretending they care about the kids of DC.

Despite claims to the contrary from state Democratic officials, the recall efforts against eight Republican Senators appear to be coordinated by workers from Washington, DC, the MacIver News Service has learned.
“These aren’t being run by national operatives,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chairman Mike Tate on the statewide UpFront with Mike Gousha television program. “This is not some prefabbed, manufactured effort.”
However the MacIver News Service has obtained a recruitment advertisement which solicited applicants from the Washington, DC area for the positions of “Field Organizers” for the Wisconsin Recalls.
The ad, for the Madison-based “Wisconsin Progress ” organization, was listed on the website of The Brad Traverse Group.
The Traverse site, operated out of Falls Church, Va, bills itself as “the leading resource for anyone seeking a job on Capitol Hill and off the Hill in the fields of government affairs, public affairs and communications.”
Although Tate asserted the recalls were organic and outside interests from Madison and Washington, DC were merely assisting with the efforts, the Wisconsin Progress advertisement says the duties for the positions include, but are not limited to: “Execute a field operation in a targeted state senate district–Manage a volunteer effort to collect recall signatures–Operate and Manage phonebank–Implement mass canvassing operations–Outreach to other progressive organizations to recruit volunteers–Data Management.”

In 2006, she became the Political Director for Progressive Majority Wisconsin, working to help train and elect candidates into offices ranging from School Board to State Senate. During her three years with Progressive Majority, she worked directly with over 125 different candidates in over 23 counties.
Kathy Daggs is the group’s political Director. From their website: “Getting her start in politics as an intern for Senator Herb Kohl, she went on to serve as an Eau Claire area volunteer coordinator for then Attorney General Jim Doyle. In 2004, she was named Campaign Director for the 68th district in the Wisconsin Assembly Coordinated Committee.

On Upfront this weekend, DPW’s Tate asserted of the recall operatives, “These are average, normal people…”
The battleground of Wisconsin has been, and continues to be an amazing example of where so-called entitlement programs lead. Some government programs, like Social Security and Medicare were designed to help people. Yet, they have become a model of the failure of Socialism. Both programs are deeply in the red, and are unsustainable, yet millions of Americans are dependent on them, and any effort to seriously address fixing them is fraught with such political dangers that no politician dares to even contemplate such actions.
These “entitlement programs”, started in the name of helping people in need, have actually enslaved many of us. On one hand we can see these programs will collapse, likely sooner rather than later, yet we are too afraid to attempt a fix for them, so we are stuck in a vicious cycle, clinging to failing programs. Liberal Democrats love such programs because they are convinced that all solutions for all problems must come from Washington DC. They love that millions and million of us are hooked on the crack of entitlements. The more Americans dependent on entitlements, the more power the Democrats wield. And let us face facts, if you think Social Security or Medicare are powerful drugs, just wait until ObamaCare becomes rooted in American’s lives. It will be the mother of all entitlements!
Of course, the battles in Wisconsin, as well as other sates between public employee unions and governors trying to right the fiscal ships of their state governments involves a different type of entitlement. The benefit packages that many government employees enjoy have become, like Social Security and Medicare, unsustainable in many states. Governors, like Scott Walker of Wisconsin, have, in an effort to rein in the fiscal insanity of their state budgets, asked public employees to pay for a bit more of their benefits. the reaction from the public employees unions has been, well, a bit like a vampire’s reaction to sunlight.
You see, these public employees are looking at their benefits as if they are, “entitled” to them. As if they are OWED them. Never mind that they pay far less than private sector employees for health care and other benefits. Forget that they are being asked to pay very small amounts of their salaries to help offset the costs of these benefits. Forget too that they will likely lose their jobs if they do not help address the desperate need to cut government costs in their states. Forget it all because they are, say it with me, ENTITLED! And when a governor, or a state legislature reminds them of the limits of entitlements? What happens then? Apparently some are willing to kill to keep what they feel they are entitled to.
Please put your things in order because you will be killed and your familes will also be killed due to your actions in the last 8 weeks. Please explain to them that this is because if we get rid of you and your families then it will save the rights of 300,000 people and also be able to close the deficit that you have created. I hope you have a good time in hell. Read below for more information on possible scenarios in which you will die.
WE want to make this perfectly clear. Because of your actions today and in the past couple of weeks I and the group of people that are working with me have decided that we’ve had enough. We feel that you and the people that support the dictator have to die. Again, recall that these people are not being asked to take a pay cut, they are not being laid off, no. They are merely being asked to have their benefits reduced a bit so they will NOT BE FIRED or laid off! But, I suppose that some folks take the entitlement mentality to extremes don’t they? And that, my friends is the ultimate danger when government starts “entitling” Americans isn’t it? What happens when those entitlements are cut, or limited? Wisconsin offers us a glimpse!
