President Obama’s long-awaited budget proposal, to be released today, does not come right out and say that it intends to reduce contributions to charity—but that is almost certainly what would happen were it to become law. Here’s why. The White House has effectively doubled down on a tax change it has been pushing for four years that would limit the value of the charitable tax deduction. The Administration has, since 2009, pushed unsuccessfully to allow only 28 cents on a dollar donated to charity to be deducted—even though the top tax rate for the wealthy donors who make most use of the deduction has been 35 percent. In the budget released today, the President again proposes to cap the charitable deduction at 28 percent—despite the fact that the top rate on the highest earners has increased to 39.6 percent. Think of it this way: the White House proposal would raise the cost of giving to charity from 60 cents per dollar to 72 cents per dollar. That’s a 20 percent increase in what can be called the “charity tax.”
I hate reality TV. To me it is basically scripted, staged, stupid and mind numbing, and tends to feature some of the least likable people. Which of course makes reality TV a great place for America’s most clueless Republican, Meghan McCain. As Zip at Weasel Zippers wonders
What kind of deranged psychopath would watch a reality show based around McRINO’s talentless hack offspring?
Well, this is where we are isn’t it? Talent? Intellect? Who wants those? America apparently craves people who are related to famous people to people who actually have something of value to share.
McCain’s show, “Raising McCain,” will follow her as she hits the road interviewing both experts and average Joe’s alike. So far the network has ordered 10 half-hour episodes that will begin airing on August 1.
Participant Media, which owns pivot, created the channel as a way to reach out to Millennials. Pivot will air a mix of narrative films, documentaries, comedies and dramas, including a show co-hosted by actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt of “3rd Rock from the Sun” fame. So far, the network plans to have a reach of 40 million cable subscribers when it launches in August. The network also plans to run a broadband-only feed of the channel for a monthly fee.
Oh, I cannot wait. But, of course, there is some good news here. Think of McCain’s show as yet another Tree of Low-Hanging Blogging Fruit. The inanities expressed on this show are bound to produce bushels of clips to share, and yes, mock right here.
Via Weasel Zippers has the latest on Jim Carrey who is a talented man, and a funny man. But, alas, he is also a man seeking relevance, or maybe seeking to remain cool or hip by mocking gun owners as uneducated hicks. Greg Gutfeld takes great umbrage in Carrey’s smear campaign, and tales little Jimmy to the ideological woodshed.
“He is the most pathetic tool on the face of the earth nd I hope his career is dead, and he ends up sleeping in a car the way his life began. This video only made me want to go out and only buy a gun. He thinks this is biting satire and going after rural America and a dead man. Let’s talk about Charlton Heston. Charlton Heston was one of the first actors to be behind the civil rights movement and march. What did this jackass Jim Carrey do? He was behind the anti-vaccine panic. There are what, 165,000 people that died from measles last year, according to the World Health Organization…
He is a dirty, stinking coward. He is a moral coward. He did a video attacking rural America. But he wouldn’t do video about gangs, which kills way more people with handguns — he wouldn’t do that because he is worried about his career. Such a pathetic, sad, little freak. He is a jiberring mess. He is a modern bigot, he is a modern bigot. He is a bottomless pit of insecurity and the desire for acceptance is why he is doing this, because he knows in his heart he is a fraud.”
How pathetic are the Left’s talking points on guns? Lies, more lies, mixed in with distortions, half-truths, and topped off with emotionalistic rhetoric.Note that these egg heads bash their fellow Congressmen for not ignoring their constituents wishes AGAINST more useless laws. The biggest lie they keep telling is that there are background checks in only 14 states, that is complete BS and they know it. They only care about one thing and that is increasing the power of the State at the expense of individual liberty.
I also love how they cannot imagine anyone not wanting gun bans like they do. They actually are trying to sell the lie that the NRA is the only thing stopping more gun control laws. I guess they cannot grasp all the polls showing most Americans trust the NRA far more than they trust Congress. I guess they missed all the folks buying guns, and signing up for CHL’s too.
(CNN) – Education Secretary Arne Duncan said he should have been clearer when describing the effects automatic spending cuts would have on one particular school district in West Virginia, saying Monday he was sorry for using the faulty example.
Duncan told reporters at the White House last Wednesday that the Kanawha County school system was already handing out pink slips in anticipation of the automatic cuts that, among other things, will impact the amount of federal money states get through September.
“Yes, there’s a district where it’s happened. But, again, it’s just because they have an earlier union notification than most – Kanawha County, West Virginia,” Duncan said at a briefing where Cabinet officers detailed the impact of cuts under the so-called congressional sequester to their agency programs. [...]
On Monday, Duncan said at a meeting with school district leaders he was sorry he misspoke.
“Language is really, really important, and I want to apologize for not being as clear as I should’ve been last week. Because I wasn’t as clear, the spotlight was put on me and that’s never ever my goal,” Duncan said. “My goal here is to have the spotlight be on children and families, so when I said ‘pink slips’ that was probably the wrong word. I should’ve used ‘job eliminations,’ ‘positions eliminated.’”
He, of course did not misspeak, he lied, deliberately, through his teeth. He was simply trying to scare people, which is what Liberal Democrats do. And Duncan was simply doing what his boss was doing as well, lying to try to blame Republicans for cuts.
Here is an idea, we want to cut spending?, How about we abolish the Education Department? Wonder how much that would save?
Zip of Weasel Zippers fame assumes, correctly I would think, that she does not want the issue hanging over the soon coming Hillary 2016 campaign. So, she will get the lying and denying over with now
Hillary Clinton will testify in front of Congress about the terrorist attack on the American consulate in Benghazi, Libya – despite receiving a concussion and being hospitalized for a blood clot, it was revealed on Thursday.
The Secretary of State cancelled appearances before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and the House Foreign Affairs Committee after she fainted and hit her head on December 9.
She sent two aides to testify in her place.
Some conservatives initially claimed she was using the health issue to dodge testifying on the contentious issue.
The Washington Post reports that Clinton ‘remains committed’ to appearing in front of the Congressional committees, though no date has been set.
Of course, perhaps this is just a tactic to stall, hoping the issue goes away.
The Communist influence in the Teachers Unions is showing Zip at Weasel Zippers notes that a Gallup poll shows a majority of Americans support the idea of armed teachers
Nobody is proposing every teacher carry a loaded gun on a holster, they recommend several people working at a school have access to a firearm in case some lunatic starts shooting. Seems reasonable to me and according to Gallup, 64% of Americans agree with the idea.
..the nation’s two biggest teachers unions warned Thursday that would be a disastrous idea that sends the wrong message to children.
“Some are actually proposing bringing more guns in, turning our educators into objects of fear and increasing the danger in our schools. Guns have no place in our schools. Period,” reads a rare joint statement from the presidents of the National Education Association and American Federation of Teachers.
In their letter, Dennis Van Roekel of the NEA and Randi Weingarten of the AFT called the idea of arming teachers “astounding and disturbing,” saying it runs counter to educators’ vow to provide safe and secure public schools.
In the days following the tragic massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., several high-profile political figures — including Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell and Rep. Louie Gohmert, Texas Republican — have suggested that instructors or principals be given firearms. They would kept in secure locations and available only to school leaders, who would use them in the event a gunman enters the building or in the case of some other extreme threat to students.
Former Education Secretary Bill Bennett has also voiced support for the idea.
“Suppose the principal at Sandy Hook Elementary who was killed lunging at the gunman was instead holding a firearm and was well-trained to use it. Would the result have been different? Or suppose you had been in that school when the killer entered, would you have preferred to be armed?” Mr. Bennett wrote in a recent column for CNN.com. “Evidence and common sense suggest yes.”
So, these unions, who I bet do not speak for many of the teachers they claim to represent, would prefer that teachers not be given an option to protect themselves and their students? Apparently so. Evidence shows, overwhelmingly, that Americans with concealed carry permits are incredibly responsible and safe, but the unions, being Leftist are vehemently opposed to allowing such people to help secure our schools. this is sad, but not surprising. Unions like the NEA and AFT have become servants of Leftist ideology rather than teachers. And Leftist ideology loathes armed citizens, and ultimately, individuals being responsible for their own protection. The Left being the Collectivists they are, believe that we ought to be reliant upon government for everything. Gun ownership challenges that, and the Left cannot stand that.
Weasel Zippers has video of Rep Hank Johnson apologizing for using the “M-Word” that word being midget. Watch it, or if you feel too much pain from listening to this imbecile, click the link for the transcript
Who votes for this man? Seriously? Who votes for a man this stupid? He will not say midget, but saying abnormally small people is acceptable? Yeah, because that is far more sensitive. Honestly, this sounds like a SNL sketch. Of course, Johnson has a history of being incredibly stupid
There may be numerous reasons I just would not last as president, but the biggest one is this. I would likely lose my temper and beat the living you know what out of at least a few people. People like Psy, who Donald Douglas talks about this morning.
Kill those f-king Yankees who have been torturing Iraqi captives. Kill those f-king Yankees who ordered them to torture. Kill their daughters, mothers, daughters-in-law and fathers. Kill them all slowly and painfully.
See, I would just not be able to do that. If I laid eyes on a rapper that sang those lyrics about American troops, I would snap. My temper would get the best of me. Of course, the media would have a field day. “President opens a can on South Korean rapper” would be just one of the headlines. The international community? They would lose their minds. The Useless Nations? Well they already lost their minds. Bob Costas would make some stupid comments about a culture of intolerance at halftime of Sunday Night Football. And I am sure I would be impeached, or worse, forced to undergo sensitivity training, anger management classes, and maybe even be forced to make one of those fake apologies that people who are not really sorry make. Of course, as president, no one could make me do those things. And Harry Reid and other weasel-like Democrats would be very careful NOT to get on my bad side. The president of Mexico? He would watch his manners too. No, I would not be reelected, but, think of the book deals, offers to have my own talk radio show, I might even get to meet my blogging role model Michelle Malkin! All for beating the snot out of some bottom feeding piece of filth?
When I look at it that way, I am in. Doug Hagin 2016! Ed Daley could be my VP. How about a campaign slogan? Hmmmm. Let’s see, how about Hagin/Daley 2016, because we need to open a Can of Whoop Ass sometimes! And my first act as president, after bitch slapping Psy? A little private meeting with dirt bag Anthnoy Cumia
Ken Burns, who massacred the facts in his documentary mockumentary The Civil War so badly a group of historians felt the need to write a book correcting the many errors is no historian. But, since he is a flaming Liberal, he gets airtime from the Liberal media. Weasel Zippers has Burns take on the recent secession movement
Documentarian Ken Burns appeared as a panelist on Meet the Press this morning to discuss Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln. As the conversation veered to contemporary politics, Burns argued, in essence, that the secession movement we’re seeing in the wake of the election is spurred by racism. The basis for this claim, I believe, is the same as for the claims that opposition to a potential Susan Rice nomination is an indication of racism.
Good grief! In the first place this guy is a hack, he is not a historian. And, as the clip shows, he is suffering from Racial Obsession Syndrome, RACE has everything to do with everything in his mind. And note how he is still parroting the lies about the “vitriol” that came from the Tea Party. That is a typical Liberal, just keep repeating the lies, even when they have been disproved.
Sources who have debriefed the team that was at the CIA annex the night of the attack in Benghazi say that the CIA operators from the Global Response Staff, or GRS, were equipped with Mark 48 machine guns and had two types of laser capability. Each weapon had both a “passive” as well as a “visible” laser that could be used against the Libyan attackers.
The presence of laser capability on the roof of the CIA annex confirms what Fox News sources that night in Benghazi originally said, which is that they had laser capability and for 5 hours and 15 minutes were wondering where the usual overhead air support was, especially since, according to this source, they radioed from the annex beginning as early as midnight asking for it.
The presence of lasers raises more questions about why air support was not sent to Benghazi even protectively once it became clear that the fighting had followed the CIA rescue team back to the annex.
U.S. military officials say they “thought the fighting was over” after the team left the consulate and that there was a lull in the fighting.
Fox News has learned the guns were fitted with PEQ-15 lasers. The “passive” laser is not visible to the naked eye but can help team members identify hostile forces when the shooter is wearing NODS, or Night Observation Device attached to their helmet. The visible laser system places a red dot on the attacker and warns the attacker not to shoot, encouraging them to flee the scene.
Here is my take, Obama was rude, condescending, looked petty, and rude with his consistent interruptions. Romney looked, and certainly acted far more presidential than Obama did. The best line Obama had, apparently was attacking Romney, and playing that tired class warfare card. To me, it is simple, Romney won, on both style and substance. The president glared at Romney, trying his angry face out I suppose. The most troubling aspect of the night was how brazenly Obama lied, flat out lied about Romney, it is truly pathetic, but this is the state of your modern Democratic Party. Others, of course weighed in, and here is a round up of what others are saying…….
The Lonely Conservative agrees with me that Obama got a whoopin she also saw the anger in Obama
I think Mitt Romney won tonight’s foreign policy debate. President Obama looked peeved and angry when he wasn’t laughing. He interrupted Romney numerous times. Romney seemed calm, cool and unflappable. He certainly didn’t come off as some sort of warmonger the Democrats want you to believe he is.
I was tweeting during the entire debate. You can read the tweets here, at least for a while. I also did a few posts on Sulia.
Romney has momentum at this point, and I doubt tonight’s debate did anything to change that. I don’t care what theWashington Post says about Obama putting Romney on his heels. All anyone had to do was look at the split screen to see who was on his heels. It certainly wasn’t Romney, if it was he might have been the one doing all of the interrupting.
Weasel Zippers has a great line from Romney that made my ears perk up. Dennis Prager also mentioned this on his show today, although, I am not sure how many Americans will get the context
Despite what they say, Leftists think Romney won too, Twitchy has some of the death threats the tolerant Leftists Tweeted last night. And yes, some of the miscreants are still talking riots!
If those threatened riots happen, maybe we should blame Ohio, which Ace says is a state that Team Obama is fretting over
No debate coverage would be complete without checking in with The Other McCain who sums up how we all feel
Thank God, tonight’s debate is the last of this presidential campaign. Republicans endured 20 debates during the primary campaign, and we’re ready to stop debating and start stabbing out Chris Matthews’ eyeballs with sharp sticksvoting.
That’s why Mitt Romney killed this debate. He’s optimistic and looking toward the future. He affirms America’s greatness, with no apologies. He’s hopeful and not stuck on bemoaning the “policies that got us into to this mess in the first place,” like a bleedin’ crybaby, unable to lead. Romney’s championing the policies that will get us out of it. The election can’t come to soon. The American people are going to send O on a long golfing retirement.
Today Bayonet Inc. told Obama to “get educated.” TMZ reported:
TMZ spoke with multiple people in the bayonet industry who tell us they were shocked and even offended when Obama brought up the weapon during last night’s debate.
According to the official U.S. Marine Corps website, every Marine is STILL required to complete a bayonet training program … because “the weapon becomes just as effective [as a rifle] in close combat situations.”
We spoke with Dan Riker from Bayonet Inc. — a leading military surplus outlet that specializes in bayonets — who tells us he believes Obama’s comment was “ignorant … because our soldiers still use bayonets.”
He adds, “[Bayonets] are still distributed to the military all the time — he should get educated on it.”
Idaho state liquor officials say Washington’s newly privatized liquor market is giving a boost to Idaho’s already-rising liquor sales.
The surge in Idaho border-store sales mirrors a surge in Oregon, where sales near the Washington border rose 35 percent in June, bringing Oregon $870,000 more than usual. That’s just a hair more than Idaho’s border-store sales increase last month. Oregon, like Idaho, has a state-run liquor market.
Washington voters last year approved privatization of the state’s liquor business, opening up liquor sales to grocery stores and other retailers. That came with a new 10 percent distributor fee plus a 17 percent retail fee to replace money the state lost when it shut down its state-run liquor stores. The result was higher prices for consumers at many retail outlets.
Idaho sold about $153.6 million worth of booze in the 2012 fiscal year that ended June 30. That was the equivalent of 968,000 cases of a dozen 750-milliliter bottles and a one-year rise of 6.7 percent, said Jeff Anderson, who heads the State Liquor Division.
The state broke its record for net income on liquor sales, earning $55.5 million or about 10 percent more than in fiscal 2011. That’s partly because people paid more for each bottle, “trading up to premium and super-premium products,” Anderson said.
But it’s also likely because of Washington shoppers driving across the border for lower prices. The eight Idaho-run stores near Washington sold about 33 percent more liquor in June than the same month last year, Anderson said. The state’s overall June sales were 14 percent higher.
Yes, Washington voters moved to privatize the booze business, but the state popped those fees, 10% on distributors and 17% on retailers. Those costs were passed on to consumers. Those consumers sought out their products at cheaper prices, and Washington state is losing revenue. Of course, the state could cut those taxes and more folks would be in state. This is what the Left does not get. As one commentor at Weasel Zippers put it “if you tax it they will flee”.

Zion’s Trumpet links Ed’s post, and offers his own take
Also keep in mind that all this happened back when the GOP still had a shot at getting Obama’s health care monstrosity overruled by our nation’s highest court. Since that option is no longer on the table, we the people have no alternative but to rid our federal government of every parasitic leftist we possibly can, even if that means replacing some of them with – shall we say – less than hard-right Republicans. To do otherwise is to commit national suicide, and even some Ron Paul supporters are now beginning to recognize that fact.
Mitt – if I may be so bold as to address you by your nickname – all you have to do to win the White House at this point is refrain from saying anything truly stupid or offensive to conservatives, stick to the topics of the economy and ObamaCare, and try to pick a running mate who isn’t as big a RINO as you are. Might I suggest Marco Rubio… or Allen West?
As for you, Barack, you’re political death warrant has just been signed, sealed and delivered by five smarmy, activist lawyers in black robes, and the genuinely comical thing is that you’re too dumb to realize it. While I’m sure the Jurassic press will join you in declaring victory today, I’m equally as certain that the real victors in all this will be the people of this country once they throw your sorry butt out of office and begin the process of retaking their liberties from a degenerate and dictatorial federal government.
Chris at Wyblog warns that we better start saving up for that mandate, oh, sorry Mr. Roberts TAX that makes us buy a Volt!
The government is our master. We The People are powerless before it.
The Constitution means nothing. Limited government? Fuggedaboudit.
Someone needs to dig up Thomas Jefferson and have him beat Chief Justice Roberts over the head with the Declaration of Independence. Repeatedly.
Not that it would do any good. The damage is done.
The Obamacare abomination survives. Every American is compelled by the force of law to purchase health insurance. Because the individual mandate is in actuality a tax.
Welcome to the United States of Greece. Where our Socialist Overlords have big plans for us serfs. It’s been said that the power to tax is the power to destroy.
Liberty was destroyed today. We’ll probably never get it back.
UPDATE 28 Jun 2012 11:39: The more I think about it, the madder I get.
Even if Obamacare gets repealed a terrible precedent has been set. Congress can tax our behavior. Get too fat? Pay the Obesity Tax. Don’t buy that Chevy Volt? Pay the Fossil Fuel Waster Tax. Homeschool your kids? Pay the Support Your Local Teachers Union Tax.
Nanny-state busybodies like Mike Bloomberg are having an orgasm right now.
Milton Wolf warned us yesterday that, in the end, we would have to kill this beast legislatively, hewas right
Weasel Zippers reminds us that Romney lists job one as “Repeal Obamacare”
It’s the judiciary’s Nixon-to-China: Chief Justice John Roberts joins the liberal wing of the Supreme Court and upholds the constitutionality of Obamacare. How? By pulling off one of the great constitutional finesses of all time. He managed to uphold the central conservative argument against Obamacare, while at the same time finding a narrow definitional dodge to uphold the law — and thus prevented the court from being seen as having overturned, presumably on political grounds, the signature legislation of this administration.
Why did he do it? Because he carries two identities. Jurisprudentially, he is a constitutional conservative. Institutionally, he is chief justice and sees himself as uniquely entrusted with the custodianship of the court’s legitimacy, reputation and stature.
Go read it all, I think Krauthammer is exactly right, but I disagree on one point. Roberts has, in my view, discredited ANY standing he had as a constitutional conservative. He placed his principles and his duty on the back burner to help the “image” of the Court? If so, then he has forgotten what duty is, and is a disgrace!
The Federal Government does not have the power to order people to buy health insurance. Section 5000A would therefore be unconstitutional if read as a command. The Federal Government does have the power to impose a tax on those without health insurance. Section 5000A is therefore constitutional, because it can reasonably be read as a tax.
I won’t have to unpack that for longtime readers of this site, but do allow me to unpack it — as I’ve done with similar linguistically incoherent statements in the past — for those who will spend today bemoaning a ruling that, when viewed from their own intepretative perspective (rather than their policy desires), they can’t honestly fault.
To wit: “Section 5000A is therefore constitutional, because it can reasonably be read as a tax.”
Fine. How is this the case? Because, per Roberts, the mandate looks something like a tax might look and could look — much in the way a cloud formation may look like a randy sheep three way, if you’re inclined to see it that way. But unless you believe God or Nature intended to paint a sheep orgy in the gas and water vapor floating above Peoria, the clouds aren’t actually a sheep orgy save your intent to see it as such.
Intentionalism just is.
But, you argue, it clearly wasn’t intended as a tax (or if it was, there’s no way of ever knowing that, given that it was presented as a penalty and not a tax) — because the President publicly denied that it was a tax, and it was passed expressly as a penalty. Therefore, it was signified into being — at the point of passage — as a penalty. And a penalty is not a tax.
Or is it?
Intentionalism just is.
According to the CJ, a penalty is indeed a tax when it can be viewed as a tax for purposes of a ruling. Meaning, a penalty is a tax when a Justice decides to rewrite the law to turn a penalty into a tax. Which he justifies because the way the penalty looks to him suggests that “reasonable” people (or philosopher kings) can, if they squint — and if they ignore the intent that turned the law into law in the first place, and turned a set of marks into a set of signs, into language — see a tax. How that is “reasonable” is anyone’s guess: we know in no uncertain terms that Obama and the Dems who passed the law didn’t devise the mandate as a tax (despite what they later argued); for one to conclude that it is reasonably possible to “read” a penalty as a tax, therefore, what c0mes to count as “reasonable” must be redefined as “ignoring what we know to be true”. And that seems antithetical to “reason.”
Having gone through the opinion, I am not going to beat up on John Roberts. I am disappointed, but I want to make a few points.
First, I get the strong sense from a few anecdotal stories about Roberts over the past few months and the way he has written this opinion that he very, very much was concerned about keeping the Supreme Court above the partisan fray and damaging the reputation of the Court long term. It seems to me the left was smart to make a full frontal assault on the Court as it persuaded Roberts.
Good Freaking Grief! Tell me Erickson is not this stupid. If Roberts was swayed by public opinion, or by what he perceived MIGHT be a negative spin the certain people, then he is unfit for the highest court! He is there to rule on the CONSTITUTIONALITY of laws, not make his decisions to impress anyone!
Second, in writing his case, Roberts forces everyone to deal with the issue as a political, not a legal issue.
Oh, so the constitutionality of a law is “political” now, and not legal? Good Lord who is this buffoon posing as Erickson? I am with BC on this
What is sad is that a conservative republican blogger is dumb enough put this stupidity out for review — and think he making an intelligent point.
The reality is that John Roberts have just given his stamp of approval on the biggest governmental encroachment on American liberty in our country’s history. This is not just about the individual mandate.
The supreme court has just set a legal precedent saying that it is okay for the federal government to force you to buy a service and penalize you if you don’t.
Now, thanks to John Roberts, if they decide it is in your best interest to buy a workout machine, a house alarm system, a book, a Communist government indoctrination video — or anything else for that matter — they can do it and it will be simple labeled as a tax.
Someone needs to tell this fat bastard to think, or to shut up!
Dear Erick, your head called, it is stuck in your ass, sorry, but I am done having patience for these “thoughtful” Republicans who excuse cowards like Roberts!
“Ted can now rest. He’s finally f*#%ed everybody in the country.”
Actually, stamping Ted Kennedy’s name on what will eventually amount to a massive tax increase for increasing numbers of Americans as companies dump out of insuring their employees privately isn’t entirely inappropriate.
Maybe Ted’s been reincarnated. If John Roberts is spotted drinking Chivas tonight and chasing tail at Au Bar it’ll be confirmed.
I might be updating later, so please check back. I do hope this fires everyone up, and keeps them that way. REMEMBER in NOVEMBER!
They hate us, they hate our closest allies, yet, President Obama saw fit to fund the PA, and he overruled Congress to do it, do not forget that. Via Weasel Zippers has an example of what our tax dollars might be used to fund.
Come to us via Weasel Zippers. As you read this, ask yourself this. How stupid does a person have to be to decide that the nursery rhyme Baa, Baa, Black Sheep is RAAAAACIST
(Daily Mail) — A school has been accused of political correctness after
No political correctness (Photo credit: Wikipedia)
changing the words of a traditional children’s nursery rhyme.
At their Easter concert, pupils at Park Hill School swapped the word ‘black’ in Baa Baa Black Sheep for ‘little’ as they sang.
It confused parents and friends watching the performance at the fee-paying Kingston Upon Thames school.
Kingston Councillor Andrea Craig, whose son sang in the show, tweeted on the night: ‘At my son’s Easter concert I saw a song called Baa Baa Little Sheep which I assumed was new.
‘Not so – not allowed black. Really?’
The school insisted the song had been changed as a way of teaching children phonics and to fit in with the Easter theme, rather than a skewed approach to political correctness.
You can read the excuses at the link, but, frankly, the excuse given set off my BS Meter! Maybe because the Left is constantly pulling stunts like this in their crusade for “sensitivity”
TAMPA – One of George Zimmerman’s neighbors is speaking out, saying looks can be deceiving.
Despite booking video from the Sanford Police Department that many say shows George Zimmerman largely unscathed from his encounter with Trayvon Martin, the neighbor said he saw Zimmerman with obvious injuries.
The neighbor is talking for the first time about what he saw on George Zimmerman’s face less than 24-hours after Zimmerman shot and killed Trayvon Martin.
“I saw George. He was banged up. His head had two big bandages, that weren’t flat, had a bump on them,” the neighbor, who did not want to be identified, said.
He described where the injuries were.
“I seen him have a big bandage on his nose and his nose swollen. On the side, where his eyes were at, it was swollen,” he said.
He points out exactly where on a picture.
“I seen the bandage right here, and this side of his nose and this side of his nose was swollen.
The surveillance video was released by Sanford police of Zimmerman when he was brought in for questioning after the shooting. Bruises and bandages aren’t visible, but you can see an officer looking at the back of his head.
“Once you get into a fight you don’t show bruises that day, it shows the next day,” he said
That is often true isn’t it? Some might question why the neighbor chose not to be identified. Well, maybe they do not want the Black Panthers looking for them, or maybe they do not want Spike Lee tweeting their address. Just a thought
The crew at MSNBS, and the usual race pimps will be hardest hit by the news that Trayvon “Jesus on the Cross” Martin might not be the tool of exploitation they were looking for
Leaders from the NAACP and other groups led a massive crowd through the streets of Sanford, Florida, today to demand the arrest of George Zimmerman—and deny reports of an economic boycott, the Orlando Sentinel reports. “We want an arrest, shot in the chest, chanted the crowd, which MSNBC estimated in the thousands. They stopped outside police headquarters for speeches and a benediction comparing Trayvon Martin’s death to that of Jesus Christ.
Yep! Nothing is sacred or off limits when there is race pimping to do!
You Republicans are not smart enough to be as stupid as I am!
White House Press Secretary Jay Carney didn’t pull any punches in his attack on Paul Ryan’s budget, as he declared that supporters of the budget — and by extension, Ryan himself — are “aggressively and deliberately ignorant” about the need for green energy and other programs slated for cuts.
“You have to be aggressively and deliberately ignorant of the world economy not to know and understand that clean energy technologies are going to play a huge role in the 21st century,” Carney said after decrying the clean energy spending cuts in Ryan’s plan. “You have to have severely diminished capacity to understand what drives economic growth in industrialized countries in this century if you do not understand that education is the key that unlocks the door to prosperity,” he added.
Say what? This guy cannot be this stupid can he? Jay, just one question. Where in the Hell IS the economic growth? Obama has been president for over three years. Why is unemployment still so high? Jay, Jay, Jay, you ignorant fool, why did the Obama Stimulus not create jobs? Where did much of the stimulus go Jay? Oh yeah, that’s right, into “Green Energy”
(CNSNews.com) – President Obama’s 2009 economic stimulus law, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, impacted nearly one quarter (25 percent) of all renewable energy initiatives across the government, a Government Accountability Office (GAO) report says.
According to GAO, 157 of the nearly 700 renewable energy initiatives in fiscal year 2010 were either created by the stimulus law, received expanded funding or were modified under it and the futures of some programs are uncertain because of a draw-down in funding — or because they were already set to expire..
The programs were implemented by 23 agencies and their 130 sub-agencies.
“Agencies’ renewable energy efforts increased in recent years as a result of the provisions of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 and other factors,” the GAO report said.
So, Jay, where are the jobs? Oh sure, I know, I am just a dumb Republican right Jay? People like me, and the great folks at Weasel Zippers, just don’t lack the imagination to “get it”
BOULDER CITY, NEV. (AP) — President Barack Obama says that as long as he is in the White House, the U.S. will continue to pursue the promise of clean energy.
Speaking at a solar power facility, Obama says he will not stand by and let countries like China or Germany corner the market on new energy technologies. He says clean energy will not only reduce America’s dependence on foreign oil, it also will create jobs in the U.S.
Obama mocked Republicans for having a lack of imagination and dismissing clean energy technologies just because they are new. The president says America must take risks and stay ahead of the curve in order to be competitive.
A lack of imagination? The only imagination problem I see is with the folks who keep telling us about “green energy”, and how it is the future. Well, Jay, I have one word for you. Solyndra!
“You have to be aggressively and deliberately ignorant of the world economy not to know and understand that clean energy technologies are going to play a huge role in the 21st century. . .”
No, Carney, you ignorant tool: you have to be consistently and ideologically foolish about economics to think that government can out-think the market.
