Perhaps our president should stop demanding new laws, and start enforcing our current ones

Jenn Jacques nails it!

Nothing illustrates America’s breakdown like the way the president’s hometown celebrates its holidays. Memorial Day: 12 dead, 56 wounded. The Fourth of July: 10 dead, 53 wounded. Labor Day: 9 dead, 46 wounded. This kind of third-world carnage has become absolutely … normal.

If the president held a press conference every time multiple people were murdered by criminal gangbangers with illegal guns in Chicago, we’d hear from him almost every day. Instead, he says nothing. And the untold secret in Washington is that he has all the laws he needs to stop the bloodshed now.

Under the existing federal gun laws, he could take every felon with a gun, drug dealer with a gun and criminal gangbanger with a gun off the streets tomorrow and lock them up for five years or more. But he won’t do it, his Justice Department won’t do it, and the media never asks why. So convicted gangbangers carry illegal guns because they fear rival gangs more than they fear being prosecuted for a gun charge.

Powerful truth there. And where is our media? Yes you too Fox, where are y’all? Why can no one in the mainstream media seem to report that laws, federal laws are simply not being enforced. How many lives might be saved by enforcing those laws? And why is it not one major news outlet can call out our president on his hypocrisy? He wags his finger at the NRA, at gun owners while at the same time he does not enforce existing laws. I suppose this shows what his priorities are. And the same is true for the grandstanding Democrats in Congress.

  1. Agreed. New York City is no different but to hear Bill de Blasio tell it, homicides and shootings are down in New York City (–homicides-and-shootings-down-in-city.html).

I thought about that last night as I, instead of counting sheep to get to sleep, counted gunshots and since our Commie mayor has ended stop and frisk, much like they did back in the 70’s – mid-90’s, NYPD does not show up until the party has ended.
