Army Chief Of Staff To Congress: You Suck! – Washington Free Beacon
.

.
The top officer of the U.S. Army reprimanded Congress on Wednesday for its repeated failure to pass a budget that fully funds the military, rejecting remarks from a Democratic lawmaker that the military should adapt to stop-gap spending bills as the new reality in Washington.

Army Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Milley warned that Congress’s inability to pass a budget by the end of the month would “ultimately result in dead Americans on a future battlefield” and pose a threat to national security.

“Failure to pass the budget, in my view as an American citizen and the chief of staff of the United States Army, constitutes professional malpractice,” Milley testified before the House Armed Services Committee…

Obama DOI Officials Were Paid $6 Million While On Extended Administrative Leave – Daily Caller

Department of the Interior (DOI) officials were paid $6 million while on extended administrative leave – often while under investigation for misconduct – without documented approval, a government watchdog reported Wednesday.

The $6 million went to 242 DOI employees on administrative leave for at least 45 days between January 2013 and July 2016, the agency’s Inspector General (IG) reported.

“DOI did not sufficiently document decisions made regarding the use of extended administrative leave, resulting in inefficient management and oversight,” the report said.

“If DOI management does not appropriately maintain documentation… DOI cannot demonstrate that it has properly managed its use of extended administrative leave or that it has not wasted taxpayers dollars by paying employees not to work.”

Specifically, DOI officials didn’t document approvals for extended leave approvals, alternatives considered, nor notifications sent to employees placed on extended leave…

Leftist Southern Poverty Law Center Accused Of Violating Tax Exempt Status – The Lid
.

.
The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) is an over-the-line liberal loony-toons organization posing as a civil rights charity who exists by the motto “If you are a conservative you are a racist or some other type of bigot. One target of the SPLC has had enough. The Federation for American Immigration Reform, known as FAIR, has filed a formal legal complaint with the IRS claiming that the SPLC was engaging in political activity as opposed to the educational activity allowed per the 501(C)(3) tax exemption rules (complaint embedded below).

“Any honest examination of this record can only lead to the conclusion that the SPLC was engaged in on-going prohibited political activity,” said FAIR President Dan Stein.

According to the complaint, the SPLC violated its non-profit tax status nearly 50 times during the 2016 presidential election cycle…

Ben Carson Uncovers Massive HUD Fraud Under The Obama Regime – The Black Sphere

Liberals called President Trump’s selection to run HUD “unqualified.” That’s right. For Leftists, a brain surgeon wasn’t qualified to understand housing.

Worse yet, we now learn that Obama’s HUD was completely inept.

The inspector general (IG) for the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) revealed this week that for three straight years, Obama’s HUD staff cooked the books. These morons wouldn’t know a balance sheet from a fitted sheet.

Obama HUD FraudHUD’s books are in such bad shape that the IG can’t complete an audit on their second try.

Here’s what happened on the first try:

According to the IG report, after the first review, Obama staffers had to correct a whopping $520 billion in bookkeeping errors.

When the IG remained unable to issue an opinion for fiscal years 2015 or 2016, he gave Obama staffers a three-month extension. Thus, their reprieve allowed them to fix $3.4 billion in 2015 errors and $516.4 billion in 2016 errors…

GOP Calls For IRS Commissioner Koskinen To Be Fired – Washington Times
.

.
Congress’s top tax expert led Republicans Wednesday in demanding President Trump fire IRS Commissioner John Koskinen, saying the tax agency cannot be repaired as long as he’s at the helm.

“Trust in the IRS is hitting rock-bottom,” the Republicans, led by Rep. Kevin Brady, chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, said in a letter calling on Mr. Trump to take action.

The 15 committee Republicans said not only did the IRS destroy evidence from key figure Lois G. Lerner’s computer in the tea party targeting probe, but the agency also “intentionally” made the tax experience painful for customers in order to make a political point to the GOP.

The Republicans said Mr. Koskinen, who was installed as commissioner in 2013 and charged with cleaning up the agency, has shown he can’t do it…

Canada On Verge Of Having A Gender Neutral ‘O Canada’ Anthem – Daily Caller

Some Canadian senators are urgently trying to stop Canada from having a “gender neutral” national anthem that they say will sound “clunky, leaden and pedestrian.”

If not blocked or amended, a bill winding its way through the Canadian Parliament will render “O Canada” into a statement of political correctness. The bill has already passed through the elected House of Commons, where it was introduced by now-deceased Liberal Member of Parliament Mauril Bélanger.

Even Liberal Senator Joan Fraser, who calls herself an “ardent feminist,” is opposed to the new phrasing that she says reflects poor grammar and is a silly effort to force “today’s values” on a song that was written in a different era.

“It’s a fine example of what happens when you let politicians meddle,” she said of Bill C-210, the National Anthem Act. “Politicians are not usually poets.”

The Liberal MP who sponsored the bill died last summer from Lou Gehrig’s Disease. His changes include excising the phrase “all thy sons command” and replacing it with “all of us command.”…

Cowboys QB Tony Romo Retires – Sentinel & Enterprise
.

.
Tony Romo couldn’t bring himself to use the word “retired” and didn’t have an answer for whether he would have decided to replace another former quarterback in Phil Simms as lead analyst for CBS if he hadn’t lost his starting job in Dallas.

This much Romo did know: Teams were interested in him continuing his chase for an elusive Super Bowl, and he couldn’t pass up a chance to go straight from the field to a No. 1 booth with Emmy Award-winning play-by-play man Jim Nantz.

“It reminds me of my rookie year where you really don’t know anything,” Romo said. “You’re walking into a brand new situation and you can kinda play the game. I can kinda talk. But this is a completely different world. I like that challenge.”…

Idaho’s $4.3 Million Solar Road Generates Enough Power To Run One Microwave – Daily Caller

An expensive solar road project in Idaho can’t even power a microwave most days, according to the project’s energy data.

The Solar FREAKIN’ Roadways project generated an average of 0.62 kilowatt hours (kWh) of electricity per day since it began publicly posting power data in late March. To put that in perspective, the average microwave or blow drier consumes about 1 kWh per day.

On March 29th, the solar road panels generated 0.26 kWh, or less electricity than a single plasma television consumes. On March 31st, the panels generated 1.06 kWh, enough to barely power a single microwave. The panels have been under-performing their expectations due to design flaws, but even if they had worked perfectly they’d have only powered a single water fountain and the lights in a nearby restroom.

Solar FREAKIN’ Roadways has been in development for 6.5 years and received a total of $4.3 million in funding to generate 90 cents worth of electricity…

Egyptian President To Trump: ‘I Have A Deep Appreciation And Admiration For Your Unique Personality’ – CNS
.

.
Egyptian President Abdul Fatah al Sisi told President Donald Trump before an Oval Office meeting of the two leaders on Monday that he appreciates Trump’s “unique personality” that he and Egypt would always be at Trump’s side in countering the “evil ideology” of terrorists.

“Since we met last September,” Sisi told Trump, “I have had a deep appreciation and admiration of your unique personality, especially as you are standing very strong in the counterterrorism field to counter this evil ideology that is claiming innocent lives, that is bringing devastation to communities and nations, and that is terrorizing innocent people.

“Very strongly and very openly,” Sisi said, “you will find Egypt and myself always beside you in this, in bringing about an effective strategy in the counterterrorism.”…

The IRS Took Millions From Innocent People Because Of How They Managed Their Bank Accounts – Washington Post

The Internal Revenue Service has seized millions of dollars in cash from individuals and businesses who obtained the money legally, according to a new Treasury Inspector General’s report.

The report covers IRS cash seizures against businesses and individuals suspected of deliberately trying to avoid federal reporting requirements for large bank deposits.

In order to combat criminal activity, individuals and businesses are required to report all bank deposits greater than $10,000 to federal authorities. Intentionally splitting up large sums of cash into sub-$10,000 amounts to avoid that reporting requirement is known as “structuring,” and is illegal under the federal Bank Secrecy Act.

But many business owners engaged in perfectly legal activities may be unaware of the law. Others are covered by insurance policies that don’t cover cash losses greater than $10,000. Still others simply want to avoid extra paperwork, and keep their deposits less than $10,000 on the advice of bank employees or colleagues…

Oregon’s Jeff Merkley is on the Senate floor after 16 hours holding an unofficial filibuster of Judge Neil Gorsuch.

But Senator Merkley was singing a different tune back in 2012 and 2013, demanding an end to the filibuster and wanting a simple majority with an up or down vote.

Jeff Merkley, 2013.

“It’s time to end the political games that have hijacked the U.S. Senate. We demand rules that allow the Senate to do its job. Reform the filibuster and allow a fair up or down vote on the important issues.”

Unfortunately for Merkley, no one has bothered to take down his old webpage, (Paid for by jeff Merkley For Oregon)…

German Cabinet Backs €50 Million Hate Speech Fines For Social Media Firms – TechCrunch

The German cabinet has backed proposals to hit social media firms with fines of up to €50 million if they fail to promptly remove illegal hate speech from their platforms – within 24 hours after a complaint has been made for “obviously criminal content”, and within seven days for other illegal content.

The draft law would also see individuals from companies facing fines of up to €5M for any criminal content removal failures.

In a statement today [translated via Google Translate], German Justice Minister Heiko Maas said: “The providers of social networks are responsible when their platforms are abused to spread hate criminality and criminal false news. There can be just as little space on social networks for criminal acts as on the street. To do better, we owe the victims of hate criminality. The Internet is characterized by the debate culture and the social climate in our country. Verbal radicalization is often the precursor to physical violence.”…

William Shatner Under Fire From Social Justice Warriors For Spreading Autism Awareness – Heatstreet
.

.
Earlier this week, the White House and autism organizations around the world celebrated the 10th annual World Autism Awareness Day. Actor William Shatner, best known for his role in Star Trek, changed his profile icon and tweeted his support into the related hashtag to draw awareness to the disability. Today, he was inundated with outrage from social justice warriors likened his support for autism awareness to hate speech. They further expressed their anger towards organizations like Autism Speaks, which sponsored the event.

Autism is formally classified as a disability that happens during pregnancy. Despite that, many people with autism live great lives. Yet it would be a stretch to call it a gift. As with many challenges people face, it’s usually something to overcome…

Susan Rice’s White House Unmasking: A Watergate-Style Scandal – Andrew C. McCarthy

The thing to bear in mind is that the White House does not do investigations. Not criminal investigations, not intelligence investigations.

Remember that.

Why is that so important in the context of explosive revelations that Susan Rice, President Obama’s national-security adviser, confidant, and chief dissembler, called for the “unmasking” of Trump campaign and transition officials whose identities and communications were captured in the collection of U.S. intelligence on foreign targets?

Because we’ve been told for weeks that any unmasking of people in Trump’s circle that may have occurred had two innocent explanations: (1) the FBI’s investigation of Russian meddling in the election and (2) the need to know, for purposes of understanding the communications of foreign intelligence targets, the identities of Americans incidentally intercepted or mentioned. The unmasking, Obama apologists insist, had nothing to do with targeting Trump or his people.

That won’t wash…

Australian Policeman Stops Press Conference To Arrest Beer-Drinking Idiot – Daily Mail
.

.
This is the bizarre moment a police officer stops his press conference mid speech to arrest a man yelling abuse.

Video shows Detective Inspector Winston Woodward address the media outside Albury police station in southern New South Wales on Monday morning. A disheveled looking man with a glass bottle in his hand walked past and yelled out ‘bulls***t’, interrupting Det Insp Woodward’s speech.

Det Insp Woodward then stopped his conference mid-sentence and walked over to the man, forcing him to tip out the beer. The officer then grabbed the man by the t-shirt and walked him inside the police station.

The man continuing yelling out as he was led into the station…

Illegal Immigration Down More Than 60 Percent Under Trump – Washington Times

Illegal immigration across the southwest border is down more than 60 percent so far under President Trump, officials revealed Tuesday, even before the first new agent is hired or the first mile of his promised border wall is constructed.

Mr. Trump took a victory lap over the “record reductions” in illegal crossers, saying he is already saving Americans’ jobs by preventing them from having to compete with unauthorized workers.

“Down 61 percent since inauguration. Gen. Kelly is doing a fantastic job,” Mr. Trump told a labor union gathering in Washington, praising Homeland Security Secretary John F. Kelly, a retired Marine Corps general.

Mr. Kelly is scheduled to detail the numbers Wednesday to the Senate Homeland Security Committee, which is investigating the situation on the border.

Testifying to the committee in a first hearing Tuesday, former Border Patrol Chief David V. Aguilar said the percentage may be even higher than Mr. Trump teases…

North Korea Fires Another Ballistic Missile Into Sea Of Japan – Yahoo News
.

.
Nuclear-armed North Korea fired a ballistic missile into the Sea of Japan on Wednesday, in what analysts said was a warning ahead of a China-US summit at which Pyongyang’s accelerating atomic weapons programme is set to top the agenda.

South Korea’s defence ministry said the missile – launched days after Pyongyang warned of retaliation if the global community ramps up sanctions – had flown 60 kilometres (about 40 miles).

The incident represented a “threat to the peace and stability of the whole world”, Seoul said, while Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe labelled it a “grave provocation”.

In a terse statement, US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said: “The United States has spoken enough about North Korea. We have no further comment.”…

Private Sector Adds 263,000 Jobs In March – MarketWatch

Private-sector employment continued at a torrid pace in March, according to data released Wednesday morning.

Employers added 263,000 private sector jobs last month, up from a revised 245,000 in February, ADP Inc. reported.

The increase in March was above expectations. Economists polled by Econoday had forecast a March gain of 170,000 jobs compared with an original estimate of 298,000 for February.

Stock futures YMM7, +0.42% rose after the data was released.

According to ADP, professional and business sectors added 57,000 jobs and leisure and hospitality added 55,000. There was another strong month for the construction industry, where 49,000 jobs were added, and the manufacturing sector added 30,000 positions.

Economists use ADP’s data to get a feeling for the U.S. Labor Department’s employment report, which will be released Friday and covers government jobs in addition to the private sector…

Drudge Tweets Spark Twitter Gag On Trump – WorldNetDaily

As the exploding scandal over the Obama administration’s apparent spy ops on the Trump transition team expands – it’s already being compared by some to Watergate on steroids – there are some who apparently don’t want the information to get around.

Like Twitter.

The Drudge Report headlined the developments in the surveillance story, including Tuesday morning’s headline “Rice ‘ordered spy docs on Trump,’” and used Twitter to let readers know.

The headline was replaced with, “This Tweet may include potentially sensitive content.”

The message continued: “In order to view it, you’ll need to change your sensitive media selection. You can find this under the Safety section of your Privacy and safety account settings.”…

Ethiopian ‘Child Migrants’ Confess To Real Ages, Are Denied Entry Into UK – Gateway Pundit

A group of Ethiopian migrants claiming to have been between 14-17 years old in order to boost their chances of asylum in the United Kingdom have switched their stories on deciding to remain in France – revealing to authorities that almost all are over the age of 18, with many in their mid to late twenties.

Having spent the winter at a migrant reception center in the Mediterranean coastal town of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, the group – realizing that the UK was no longer an option – collectively approached authorities with their decision to apply for asylum in France, coming clean on their ages.

Pretty Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer was selected to house one of France’s 450 migrant reception centers and received a contingent of migrants from the Calais ‘jungle’ last autumn. An estimated 10,000 migrants had inhabited the squalid encampment, located outside the northern port city of Calais, making nightly attempts to reach the UK by climbing onto trucks, into shipping containers and even on foot via the Channel Tunnel…

Mike Pence Presents New Healthcare Offer To Freedom Caucus – The Hill
.

.
White House officials presented an offer to the conservative House Freedom Caucus on Monday night as they seek to revive the ObamaCare replacement bill.

Vice President Pence and other White House officials presented an idea at the Freedom Caucus meeting to allow states to choose to apply for waivers to repeal two ObamaCare regulations that conservatives argue are driving up premiums.

Those two regulations detail ObamaCare’s essential health benefits, which mandate which health services insurers must cover, and “community rating,” which prevents insurers from charging sick people higher premiums.

Conservatives had previously called for the bill to repeal those regulations outright, but the deal now being discussed would give states a choice by allowing them to apply for a waiver from the federal government…
