.

.
As the death toll from weeks of protests in Venezuela continues to grow, dictator Nicolلs Maduro has repeatedly placed emphasis in his television appearances on the importance of dance in society, decreeing on Wednesday that all socialists must know how to dance or immediately learn how.

“The revolutionary youth need to know how to sing, love, and dance to construct a revolution of peace and happiness,” said Maduro, flanked by high-ranking socialist officials. “We must all dance; whoever doesn’t know how to dance needs to learn.”

He particularly chided Vice President of Social Development Elيas Jaua, who allegedly does not know how to dance, and made the officials on stage dance along with him…

Huma Abedin’s Family Under Federal Investigation For Wire Fraud, Securities Fraud And Conspiracy – WorldNetDaily

While Hillary Clinton loyal aide Huma Abedin was reportedly sidelined in the final stretch of the 2016 presidential campaign as a result of Abedin’s husband’s child-porn scandal, she was potentially an even greater liability than known. It turns out Anthony Weiner wasn’t the only family member under investigation.

In fact, the U.S. Justice Department has been actively prosecuting two other Abedin family members – for conspiracy, wire fraud and securities fraud – and she along with the State Department, where she previously worked for Clinton, are mentioned in the federal case, court records show.

Other documents reveal the same allegedly crooked kin solicited Abedin for help at State in a deal that netted more than $1.2 million in federal grants.

These undesirable family connections, revealed here for the first time, raise fresh questions about influence peddling at the State Department under Clinton, who is now reportedly working with Abedin on a political comeback…

.

.
The Senate confirmed one of the final members of President Trump’s Cabinet, Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta, on Thursday.

The former Republican member of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) takes the helm of the Labor Department at a time when worker tensions are rising across America.

Trump promised to address these issues on the campaign trail, but so far his labor agenda has gotten off to a rocky start. Trump scrambled to find a replacement after his first pick to run the Labor Department, restaurant executive Andrew Puzder, dropped out in February…

Texas House Passes Sanctuary City Ban With Stiff Penalty For Public Officials – Daily Caller

The Texas House of Representatives passed a bill Thursday that places a statewide ban on sanctuary cities and allows state officials to jail police chiefs and sheriffs who refuse to cooperate with federal immigration authorities.

The measure also lets police officers inquire about the immigration status of anyone they detain or arrest including the subjects of traffic stops.

The Republican-controlled House approved the bill in a 3 a.m. vote, 81-64, after almost 15 hours of debate. Democrats and some Republicans had objected to the provision allowing police to ask about legal status, but the the bill eventually passed with the support of the House tea party faction.

Other Republican-led states have considered similar laws, but Texas would be the first in which local police officials could face criminal charges and be removed from office for not assisting federal immigration enforcement efforts, the Associated Press reported…

EU To Demand Britain Pay £292 Million Bill Because Of A ‘Brussels Blunder’ – Daily Express
.

.
Brussels bigwigs will demand Britain pays a £292 million bill to relocate EU agencies out the country due the bloc’s failure to enter a break clause into rental contracts based in the UK.

Theresa May will be asked by EU officials to pay the costs of relocating EU agencies, including the European Medicine Agency (EMA), who will leave Britain on March 2019 – when the UK finally leaves the bloc.

The eye-watering bill includes 20 years of payments for the EU agency for when it relocates out of Britain as dithering Eurocrats failed to insert a break clause in the London rental contract, according to the Times.

A European parliament budget control report found the rental contract for the EU medicine agency based in Canary Wharf does not lapse until 2039…

President Trump Signs Order Creating Accountability Office At VA – Fox News

President Donald Trump on Thursday created an office at the Department of Veterans Affairs to improve accountability and protect whistleblowers, calling it a “bold step forward.”

Trump, who made improving veterans’ care a prominent issue in his presidential campaign, said the Office of Accountability and Whistleblower Protection will make clear “that we will never, ever tolerate substandard care for our great veterans.” VA Secretary David Shulkin said the office will help identify “barriers” that make it difficult for the department to fire or reassign bad managers or employees.

Another function of the office will be to help shield whistleblowers from retaliation.

“With the creation of this office, we are sending a strong message: Those who fail our veterans will be held, for the first time, accountable,” Trump said at the VA before signing an executive order to create the office. “And at the same time, we will reward and retain the many VA employees who do a fantastic job, of which we have many.”…

Trump Eyes Bid To Split Up 9th Circuit Court Amid Sanctuary City, Travel Ban Disputes – Fox News
.

.
President Trump upped his battle with the federal appeals court potentially standing in the way of his agenda, saying Wednesday he “absolutely” has considered proposals to break up the San Francisco-based 9th Circuit.

Trump made the comments in an interview with The Washington Examiner. His complaints came on the heels of the appeals court earlier this year helping block his controversial “travel ban” and a federal District Court judge in northern California on Tuesday blocking his bid to cut off sanctuary city funding.

That judge, William Orrick, is not on the 9th Circuit bench, but the case could hit that court if appealed.

Trump accused his opponents of “judge shopping,” and told the Examiner they “immediately run to the 9th Circuit.”…

Turkey Arrests Over 1,000 ‘Secret Imams’ Who Allegedly Infiltrated Police Force – Breitbart

“One thousand and nine secret imams have been detained so far in 72 provinces, and the operation is ongoing,” Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu announced in an Ankara press conference on Wednesday.

By “secret imams,” he meant Gulenists, the followers of self-exiled cleric Fethullah Gulen. The Turkish government blames Gulen, who currently lives in Pennsylvania, for the July coup attempt against President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The government portrays Gulen’s followers as a vast conspiracy that has infested almost every corner of the Turkish government.

The government refers to them as FETO, which stands for “Gulenist Terrorist Organization.” Gulen’s followers call themselves Hizmet, which means “service,” and insist they are peaceful exponents of a branch of Sufi Islam.

In addition to the huge number of arrests, Turkey’s police force announced that another 9,103 personnel were suspended…

House Committee Seeks Charges For Hillary’s IT Firm – Daily Caller
.

.
A House committee is referring the head of a company that managed Hillary Clinton’s private email server to the Justice Department for obstruction of justice and making false statements.

Texas Rep. Lamar Smith, the chairman of the House Science, Space and Technology Committee, issued the referral for Treve Suazo, the CEO of Platte River Networks.

“With a new administration in place, I am hopeful that the Department of Justice will appropriately respond to the referral. We cannot allow companies with valuable information to stonewall us in our oversight efforts,” Smith said in a statement.

Platte River, which is based in Denver, took over management of Clinton’s server in June 2013, several months after Clinton left the State Department…

Huge Blasts Near Damascus Airport Blamed On Israeli Airstrike – Times Of Israel

Explosions were heard near Damascus’s airport on Thursday morning, in what some local Arabic-language media reports blamed on an Israeli airstrike.

An unnamed regional intelligence source, quoted by Reuters, said the strike was carried out by Israel and targeted an Iran-supplied Hezbollah arms depot.

The Hezbollah-linked Al-Manar news site also attributed the raid to Israel.

“Al-Manar’s correspondent reported that an explosion struck at dawn on Thursday in fuel tanks and a warehouse near Damascus International Airport and that it was probably the result of an Israeli strike,” the channel said.

It said it caused only material damage.

The head of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights Rami Abdel Rahman said the explosion early Thursday has been heard across the capital, jolting residents awake.

“The blast was huge and could be heard in Damascus,” he said…

Democrat Congressman Displays ‘Cops As Pigs’ Painting On House Floor – Washijngton Examiner
.

.
Rep. William Lacy Clay, D-Mo., on Wednesday displayed the controversial painting that was removed from the Capitol complex after complaints that it depicted police officers as pigs.

The painting was displayed for weeks before Republicans complained and asked that it be taken down by the Architect of the Capitol. He blamed Republicans for “acts of theft” after GOP lawmakers took it down a few times in protest.

Clay complained on the floor that the painting was removed in an act of “politically motivated, unconstitutional retroactive censorship.”

He was joined on the floor by other Democrats, including Rep. Jan Schakowsky, D-Ill., who called the painting a “pretty amazing” piece of art…

Armed police ‘swarmed like bees’ on a suspected terrorist a rucksack full of knives’ near Parliament Square this afternoon – after his concerned family tipped off security services.

Just five weeks after the Westminster terror attack killed five people, a team of officers swooped and arrested a bearded man dressed all in black shortly before 2:30pm.

Witnesses said the man, who was wearing a tracksuit and trainers, was crossing Whitehall amid the usual crowds of tourists and political staff when a police car suddenly pulled up and officers confronted him.

A large number of armed officers then flooded the area as the suspect was pinned to the ground just yards from Downing Street…

Engineer In Oregon Fined $500 For Calling Himself An Engineer – WorldNetDaily

Beaverton, Oregon, resident Mats Jنrlstrِm – a Swedish-born electronics engineer by training and previous work experience – is $500 poorer after being fined by an Oregon agency following his attempt to point out a problem in the state’s traffic lights that “puts the public at risk.”

Specifically, Jنrlstrِm – after spending a year investigating the timing of yellow lights and red-light camera statistics – found people were being electronically captured running yellow lights because of misapplication of a timing formula developed in 1959 and still used internationally.

“They only looked at a vehicle traveling safely directly through an intersection, however the equation they developed is not used for turning lanes,” Jنrlstrِm told Motherboard. “When you make a turn you slow down, but that’s not accounted for in their solution, so people are getting caught in red-light cameras for making safe turns.”

Armed with a year’s worth of data, Jنrlstrِm presented his findings to various groups, including the local sheriff – his wife’s earlier red-light ticket having sparked his quest – “60 Minutes” and Alexei Maradudin, the last surviving author of the 1959 paper still used to time traffic lights…

Hundreds Voted Illegally In North Carolina After Leftist Court Banned Election Integrity Law – Judicial Watch
.

.
Less than a year after a federal appellate court sided with the Obama administration to strike down North Carolina’s election integrity reforms, a state audit reveals that hundreds of votes were illegally cast by felons and non-citizens in just one election.

Voter impersonation, double voting and irregularities in absentee ballots sent via mail also tainted the election, according to the investigation conducted by the North Carolina State Board of Elections (NCSBE). The probe analyzed records from the 2016 general election.

State auditors found that about 500 ineligible people voted in 2016, more than 440 of them felons. Dozens of non-citizens from 28 different countries also cast ballots, the probe found. “A number of non-citizens said they were not aware that they were prohibited from voting,” the report states…

House Freedom Caucus Officially Endorses GOP Obamacare Repeal Bill – Breitbart

In a major move on the GOP effort to repeal and replace Obamacare, the conservative Freedom Caucus of the House of Representatives has announced its endorsement of the latest bill after New Jersey Republican Tom MacArthur introduced substantive changes.

The Freedom Caucus was a key voice against the bill introduced by the Republican leadership last month, causing House Speaker Paul Ryan to pull the bill from consideration. But since Ryan’s failure to pass the bill, Republicans have been negotiating amendments to make it more attractive to conservatives.

Days ago House Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows (R-NC) told Breitbart News that he expected an Obamacare repeal bill to pass by the end of May, and now the group has announced its support of the newest measure.

The group said in a Wednesday press release:

Over the past couple of months, House conservatives have worked tirelessly to improve the American Health Care Act (AHCA) to make it better for the American people…

Canada’s Housing Bubble Explodes As Its Biggest Mortgage Lender Crashes Most In History – Zero Hedge

Call it Canada’s “New Century” moment.

We first introduced readers to the company we said was the “tip of the iceberg in Canada’s magnificent housing bubble” nearly two years ago, in July 2015 when we exposed a major problem that we predicted would haunt Home Capital Group, Canada’s largest non-bank mortgage lender: liar loans in particular, and a generally overzealous lending business model with little regard for fundamentals. In the interim period, many other voices – most prominently noted short-seller Marc Cohodes – would constantly remind traders and investors about the threat posed by HCG.

Today, all those warnings came true, when the stock of Home Capital Group cratered by over 60%, its biggest drop on record, after the company disclosed that it struck an emergency liquidity arrangement for a C$2 billion ($1.5 billion) credit line to counter evaporating deposits at terms that will leave the alternative mortgage lender unable to meet financial targets, and worse, may leave it insolvent in very short notice…

Leading up to announcement, Secretary of the Treasury Steve Mnuchin described the proposal Wednesday morning as the “biggest tax cut and the largest tax reform in the history of our country.”

The bill, which marks the first attempt to overhaul the U.S. tax code since former President Ronald Reagan in 1986, includes features the president floated on the campaign trail. It contains an increase in the standard deduction rate for individuals and a massive cut to the U.S. corporate tax rate.

The corporate tax rate is currently the “most complicated and noncompetitive business rate in the world,” Mnuchin said at the White House Wednesday…

Migrant Crime Rate Skyrockets 52 Percent In Germany – MILO

Migrant crimes and politically motivated crimes in Germany have reportedly increased drastically.

Reuters is reporting that the number of migrant criminal suspects is skyrocketing. Additionally, German broadcaster Deutsche Welle (DW) is reporting that the number of “ideologically motivated crimes by foreigners” has also gone sky high.

This should come as no surprise given the number of crimes involving migrant crime that have popped up in Germany.

In one case, a 19-year-old migrant is accused of raping a 90-year-old woman on her way home from church. In another act of perversion, an Afghan migrant was caught masturbating in front of an underage girl at a public pool.

In Germany, if you’re not being raped by a migrant or they’re not exposing themselves to you, be careful because you might be in a crowd of people about to be attacked by one with a sharp object or a truck or something. German police even had to go on a manhunt after a machete attack left an 80-year man seriously injured…

Trump’s Border Wall Request Equals 0.035 Percent Of Federal Spending – CNS

President Donald Trump’s request that Congress include $1.4 billion to fund the beginning of his proposed wall on the U.S.-Mexico border equals approximately 0.035 percent of what the federal government will spend in total this year, according to the latest estimate of fiscal year 2017 federal spending made by the Congressional Budget Office.

It also equals less than the Department of Health and Human Services spends in just twelve hours and less than the Treasury collects in taxes in four hours. That is assuming that HHS spends money 24 hours a day and the Treasury collects it 24 hours a day.

In its baseline budget projections published in January, the CBO estimated that in fiscal 2017, which runs through September, the federal government will collect $3,404,000,000,000 in taxes and spend $3,963,000,000,000.

On March 16, President Trump sent a letter to House Speaker Paul Ryan requesting certain items be included in the continuing resolution that Congress must pass to fund the government for the remainder of the fiscal year after the current CR expires on April 28…

Trump Discovers Obama Was Spending $300 Million On Fake Afghan Soldiers, Gives Pentagon New Orders – Conservative Tribune

Millions of U.S. taxpayer dollars were being foolishly wasted paying for the salaries of non-existent “ghost” soldiers and policemen in Afghanistan under the Obama administration, but no more.

According to the special inspector general for Afghanistan reconstruction, John Sopko, who recently sat down for an interview with Sharyl Attkinson of Full Measure, the ongoing problem may have been worse than anyone realized, but was being addressed by President Donald Trump’s Pentagon.

“We’ve been raising this concern about ghosts going back a number of years,” Sopko said. “Actually I want to say we heard about it from (Afghan President) Ashraf Ghani years ago, before he became president, he warned me about ‘ghosts,’ so we started looking three years ago.”

“What we’re talking about are policemen, Afghan policemen, Afghan military, Afghan civil servants who don’t exist or they have multiple identity cards and we’re paying their salaries,” he explained…

Failing ESPN Fires 100 On-Air Personalities And Writers – Yahoo News

ESPN will cut more than 100 employees today, Yahoo Finance has learned.

That number is much bigger than the 40-50 that was initially reported. ESPN aims to notify all of the people today, if it can do so.

It has been widely reported for weeks that big cuts are coming to ESPN – so widely reported, and dissected, and gossiped about, in fact, that ESPN moved up its schedule and is notifying people earlier than it originally planned.

The 100 people getting cut are all “on-air talent,” a label ESPN uses for TV personalities, radio hosts, and writers who regularly appear on TV and radio. (ESPN says it has 1,000 such people, prior to these cuts.)…
