Unemployment Claims At Lowest Level In 28 Years – Washington Examiner

Total continuing claims for unemployment benefits ran at the lowest level in 28 years at the beginning of May, the Department of Labor reported Thursday morning in a new sign that the jobs market is still improving.

The total number of unemployed workers receiving benefits fell to 1.9 million, the agency said, the lowest such mark since November of 1988, when the workforce was much smaller.

Over the past month, the average number of continuing claims per week has clocked in at 1.95 million, the lowest number in 43 years.

Those numbers were released as part of the department’s weekly jobless claims report, which is valued by investors and government officials because it provides a frequently-updated indication of new claims for unemployment benefits, a proxy for layoffs. Fewer layoffs means more job creation.

Thursday’s report showed just 232,000 new claims, adjusted for seasonal variations, for the week ending on May 13…

Leftist “Journalists” Celebrate The Death Of Fox News Founder Roger Ailes – Daily Caller
.

.
The death of Fox News founder Roger Ailes shocked fans of the network and the world of journalism Thursday morning. But many liberals, who despise his creating, took the opportunity of the man’s death to attack him and the network he created.

Unable to contain their contempt, they took to social media to attack the man.

Though some of the tweets have since been deleted by their authors, the magic of screen captures allows the Internet to relive their poor taste forever.

Huffington Post’s senior politics editor:

Sam Stein @samsteinhp

Yes, Roger Ailes was a TV genius. He also had an apparently monstrous personal life and nasty, dangerous editorial instincts.

1 Killed, 18 Injured As Man With History Of Driving Drunk Mows Down Pedestrians In Times Square – New York Post

A driver speeding the wrong way up Seventh Avenue plowed into pedestrians in Times Square, killing at least one person and injuring 18 others, law enforcement sources said.

The motorist was identified by police sources as Richard Rojas, a 26-year-old Bronx resident with two prior DWIs. He was taken into police custody after the crash.

The motorist reportedly drove the wrong way up Seventh Avenue for up to three blocks, hitting several people along the way before crashing into a pole at 45th Street and Broadway, police and witnesses said.

Three of the injured people were in critical condition, according to police sources. The driver was tested for alcohol and has not made any statements, sources said.

“There’s video that shows the guy just drives right through it. It’s not a pretty sight,” a high-ranking source said. “He was on the sidewalk.”

When the car finally crashed into a pole, the driver got out of the vehicle and tried to run away, according to witnesses…

FBI Director James Comey Testified Under Oath May 3rd That The Trump Administration Doesn’t Obstruct Investigations – Gotnews
.

.
Former FBI Director James Comey testified under Senate oath May 3rd that the Trump administration had not pressured his agency to halt any investigation for political purposes. Comey admitted that the FBI has always been free to operate without political interference – flying in the face of Democrats’ paranoid delusions about Russia and President Donald J. Trump, and exposing for what it is a new political witch hunt Wednesday by enemies within the president’s own Justice Department.

On Wednesday, DOJ appointed a special prosecutor, former FBI Director Robert Mueller, to drum up more hype about Trump’s imaginary “collusion” with Russia during the general election.

On May 9th, President Trump fired Comey, who has spent 15 years shilling for Hillary Clinton…

Colleges Are Putting Tampons In Men’s Bathrooms Because Men Can Have Vaginas Too – Daily Caller

Colleges across the country are putting tampons in men’s bathrooms in an effort to bring about “menstrual equity” in restrooms.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison, Brown University and the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities are just a few colleges who placed menstruation products in their male and gender neutral bathrooms, reports the Chronicle.

The idea is that transgender men, women who transitioned to men, might need tampons because they still have periods.

“That’s become a really popular rallying cry and source of activism on college campuses – the idea that these products should be freely available by the schools that these students attend,” Jennifer Weiss-Wolf, who came up with “menstrual equity” explained. “This problem is eminently solvable, through a lot of avenues, and college-campus organizing is one of them.”

A student proposal for free tampons at University of Rochester won a $5,000 award from the school’s student government…

Massive LA Raids Take Down 44 MS-13 Gang Members – Washington Free Beacon
.

.
Several raids by federal and local authorities across Los Angeles on Wednesday led to the arrests of 44 MS-13 gang members, including murderers, CNN reported.

The series of 50 raids occurred before dawn and were led by ATF agents and 1,000 other officers who have been working on the case for around three years. More than half of the 44 gang members arrested were undocumented immigrants, while three members are currently on the run.

The gang members will face charges that include federal racketeering and murder. CNN added that seven people pulled from one raid site were victims of human smuggling.

“Federally, they’re all going away for a long time,” an ATF agent said. “They’re not going to be causing trouble for a number of years.”…

68-Year-Old Florida Man Charged With Raping 8-Year-Old Girl Blames Victim For Wearing ‘Provocative’ Clothing – Tampa Bay Times

A Florida man charged with raping an 8-year-old girl blamed what he did on the girl wearing provocative clothing, authorities said.

Deputies in Marion County arrested Sydney Allan Markland, 68, on a charge of sexual battery. They said Markland asked the girl, who lives in his neighborhood, to help him carry some chicken into his home. While inside, Markland raped the girl and ordered her not to tell anyone, deputies said.

The girl told a parent, who called authorities. Lab tests showed Markland’s DNA was on the girl’s clothing, deputies said.

Detectives interviewed Markland, who goes by the nickname “Dread,” at that point. He told them that the girl “came into his house wearing provocative clothing and her ‘actions’ suggested that she was consenting to sexual contact,” states a news release from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

Markland was arrested on multiple child sex charges and is being held without bail…

New South Korean President: War With North Korea A ‘High Possibility’ – News Max
.

.
There is a “high possibility” of a military conflict with North Korea, South Korea’s recently elected president, Moon Jae In, said Wednesday. The comments come just days after North Korea tested its latest missile, which was described by experts as its most successful so far, and one that the North said was capable of carrying a large nuclear warhead.

Moon, a liberal who was elected last week after a decade of conservative leadership, has taken a relatively diplomatic tone with North Korea, with whom the South remains technically at war following the armistice signed to end the 1950-1953 conflict. But he did not shy away from the potential consequences of the continued escalation of rhetoric and testing emanating from North Korea…

Berkeley To Spend $2.7 Million Of Student Money On ‘Gender-Inclusive Locker Room’ – Washington Free Beacon

The University of California, Berkeley announced that it would charge millions in student fees to construct a “gender-inclusive locker room,” in a move described as “reducing the barriers to wellness for often marginalized student and campus communities including trans and non-gender binary students.”

The 4,500 square-foot locker room, located in Berkeley’s Recreational Sports Facility (RSF), will include private changing rooms, showers, lockers, and bathroom stalls. Berkeley will fund the project to the tune of about $2.7 million of student fees and is expected to open the facility in 2018, according to the Daily Californian.

A university administrative committee approved the project in April, allocating funds from a student fee that was created in 2015 to address mental health and help minority students.

Former student government president Will Morrow pushed for the gender-neutral locker room after students voted “decisively” to establish the Wellness Initiative Fee of $154 per semester, Campus Reform noted…

The Media-Democratic Party Suicide Pact – Patricia McCarthy

The national media and the Democratic Party have gone stark raving mad over President Trump’s election victory; they refuse to accept it. Their paroxysms of fury are evident all day long on every network and cable news outlet and every mainstream newspaper.

Since Nov. 8, they have leapt like a swarm of remoras onto a whale proclaiming every little thing that they think might take the man down. Hillary’s team concocted the “Russia collusion” hoax within twenty-four hours of her defeat. Everyone knows this! Hillary is the one with all the Russia connections; lots of them, all financially benefitting her personal foundation. They, the media, have come up with numerous other schemes with which to attack Trump: taxes, emoluments, tweets, family, even his ice cream servings.

The Democrats in Congress dutifully follow suit like Pavlov’s dogs. They care not a whit whether their charges are based in fact. Hence, “fake news.” The mainstream media folk invented it, this “resistance,” and they are running with it, day after day after day…

Dementia Update: Nancy Pelosi Struggles To Speak At Press Conference, Butchers Colleagues’ Names – American Mirror
.

.
Nancy Pelosi’s Babbling, Bizarre Behavior Tour has returned home, but that doesn’t mean she’s stopped repeating herself, stumbling over her words and now even botching the names of her (Democratic!) colleagues.

Last week, Pelosi and a small contingent from the Congress visited India and the Dalai Lama, where she stuttered, referred to China as “Tina,” and told a joke about China that fell flat.

On Tuesday, she briefed reporters on the group’s trip – or at least she tried to.

“Dharamsala, uh, was, uh, wonderful and we were, uh, joined by Chairman Jim Sensenbrenner who had been on the trip, uh, 8 years ago, when we went – wait a minute – ’08 – almost 9 years,” Pelosi said, seemingly muttering to herself…

Trump To Coast Guard Academy Grads: ‘No Politician In History… Has Been Treated Worse’ By The Media – CNS

In a commencement speech at the Coast Guard Academy in Groton, Conn., President Donald Trump complained that he has been treated unfairly by the media – worse than any other politician in history.

“Over the course of your life, you will find that things that are not always fair. You will find that things happen to you that you do not deserve and that are not always warranted, but you have to put your head down and fight, fight, fight. Never, ever, ever give up. Things will work out just fine,” he said. “Look at the way I’ve been treated lately, especially by the media.

“No politician in history – and I say this with great surety – has been treated worse or more unfairly. You can’t let them get you down. You can’t let the critics and the naysayers get in the way of your dreams,” the president said.

He said that “adversity makes you stronger” and advised graduates never to give in, back down, or “stop doing what you know is right.” The president added that “nothing worth doing” comes easy, “and the more righteous your fight, the more opposition that you will face.”…

This Is War! Lou Dobbs’ Guest Just Opened The Flood Gates On Comey Memos And Washington Post Leak – USA Politics Today
.

.
Time and time again the lying mainstream media has not only shared potentially highly classified information, but also that President Trump and his administration are in an information war.

That is exactly what Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer a former CIA Analyst and retired U.S. Army Reserve Lieutenant Colonel said during his appearance on Lou Dobbs.

President Trump is in an information war and it is his communications team that is dropping the ball and not getting in front of these leaks before the mainstream media can spread their lies about them.

The supposed Comey memos from a conversation between President Trump and James Comey are the most recent excuse for reporting from the mainstream media…

Comey’s Revenge Is A Gun Without Powder – Gregg Jarrett

James Comey was lying in wait. His gun was cocked, he took aim and fired. But his weapon was empty.

Three months ago, the then-FBI Director met with President Trump. Following their private conversation, Comey did what he always does – he wrote a memorandum to himself memorializing the conversation. Good lawyers do that routinely.

Now, only after Comey was fired, the memo magically surfaces in an inflammatory New York Times report which alleges that Mr. Trump asked Comey to end the Michael Flynn investigation.

Those who don’t know the first thing about the law immediately began hurling words like “obstruction of justice”, “high crimes and misdemeanors” and “impeachment“. Typically, these people don’t know what they don’t know.

Here is what we do know.

Under the law, Comey is required to immediately inform the Department of Justice of any attempt to obstruct justice by any person, even the President of the United States…

Trump, Erdogan Hold Joint Press Conference, Hail U.S.-Turkish Ties – Reuters
.

.
Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan touted “outstanding” relations with the United States on Tuesday but emphasized Turkey will not accept Syrian Kurdish fighters in the region while stopping short of directly criticizing a U.S. decision to arm them.

Erdogan met at the White House with President Donald Trump, and both called relations between the two NATO allies strong. “We’ve had a great relationship and we will make it even better,” Trump said in a joint appearance with Erdogan.

Erdogan said his visit would “mark a historical turn of tide” and hailed “outstanding relations” between the nations. It was an especially positive tone considering the tensions over Washington’s decision to arm the Syrian Kurdish YPG militia that Ankara regards as an extension of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK)…

Included among them were the police departments in Allen, Dallas, Frisco, Garland, Grand Prairie, McKinney, Mesquite, Murphy, Plano, Sherman, and Wylie, which Skinner thanked for their cooperation.

University Of Colorado Sets Up ‘Social Justice Dorm’ For Special Snowflake Students – Heatstreet
.

Sheltered campus leftists need safe spaces apart from society to avoid being triggered by microaggressions. To that end, the University of Colorado at Boulder is dedicating one of its residence halls to transform it into a “Social Justice Living Environment.”

Hallett Hall will be partitioned into three sections, including one for “LBGTQIA-identified students and their allies,” another for “students passionate about diversity,” and one specially for “black-identified students and their allies.” As a “black-identified” person, transblack media personality Rachel Dolezal would certainly feel at home at Hallett Hall were she a full time enrolled student at Boulder.

At present, the hall hosts “Spectrum LLC” (“Living Learning Communities”) for its LGBTQIA students…

Dutch Face Another Election As Coalition Talks Collapse – Daily Express

Talks to form the next Dutch government have unexpectedly broken down after the four political parties failed to agree on what to do about migration.

Dutch lawmakers will now have to decide how to press ahead with forming a new coalition government after the collapse of negotiations between Prime Minister Mark Rutte, the Christian Democrats, the centrist D66 party and the Greens.

Edith Schippers, the Liberal health minister, said: “Dear friends, it did not work.

“The substantive differences proved too great.

Mr Rutte described the failure of talks as “unfortunate.”

Green Left leader Jesse Klaver added: “I’m not going to work out who was on which side of the gap in migration. I’d love to form a government, unfortunately it did not work.

The VVD and another conservative party, the Christian Democrats, had been in talks with the centrist D-66 party and the Green Left party, which had never before participated in a government but booked strong gains in the poll…

Federal Investigator Corroborates Private Dick’s Claim That Seth Rich Made Contact With WikiLeaks – Fox News

The Democratic National Committee staffer who was gunned down on July 10 on a Washington, D.C., street just steps from his home had leaked thousands of internal emails to WikiLeaks, law enforcement sources told Fox News.

A federal investigator who reviewed an FBI forensic report detailing the contents of DNC staffer Seth Rich’s computer generated within 96 hours after his murder, said Rich made contact with WikiLeaks through Gavin MacFadyen, a now-deceased American investigative reporter, documentary filmmaker, and director of WikiLeaks who was living in London at the time.

“I have seen and read the emails between Seth Rich and Wikileaks,” the federal investigator told Fox News, confirming the MacFadyen connection. He said the emails are in possession of the FBI, while the stalled case is in the hands of the Washington Police Department.

The revelation is consistent with the findings of Rod Wheeler, a former DC homicide detective and Fox News contributor and whose private investigation firm was hired by Rich’s family to probe the case. Rich was shot from behind in the wee hours, but was not robbed…
