Alabama Legislature Passes Bill Protecting Confederate Memorials – Daily Caller
.

.
The Alabama senate passed a bill Friday which would prevent the changing of the names of Confederate memorials and removing of historic Confederate monuments.

The bill “would prohibit the relocation, removal, alteration, renaming, or other disturbance of any architecturally significant building, memorial building, memorial street, or monument that has stood on public property for 40 or more years,” reads the text of the bill, reported Yahoo News.

Sen. Gerald Allen, a Republican sponsor of the bill, blasted what he perceived as a “wave of political correctness” assailing monuments dedicated to people who, despite having flaws, were important to history.

“You say we are protecting history,” said Sen. Hank Sanders, a Democrat African American, according to Yahoo News…

Blackstone, Saudis Set To Invest $40 Billion In Primarily U.S. Infrastructure – The Hill

A company founded by one of President Trump’s top supporters and Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund announced plans Saturday to invest $40 billion in infrastructure projects, mostly in the U.S. The announcement comes as President Trump receives a warm welcome in Saudi Arabia during his first trip abroad as president.

Blackstone, which was founded by Trump supporter Schwarzman, signed a non-binding memorandum with Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) for the project. Blackstone said PIF had committed $20 billion to the project. Blackstone and PIF expressed optimism about the fund.

The project reflects our positive views around the ambitious infrastructure initiatives being undertaken in the United States as announced by President Trump,” PIF’s managing director Yasir al-Rumayyan said.

“This will create well-paying American jobs and will lay the foundation for stronger long-term economic growth,” Blackstone president Hamilton James said…

Humans Have Inadvertently Created A Protective Barrier Around The Earth – Daily Wire
.

.
Humans take a beating when it comes to the environment. Sure, we’re part of the natural order here on Planet Earth, but because we’re at the top of the food chain, we get a lot of blame when things go wrong. Humans have driven thousands of species extinct, some by habitat destruction, others by pure gluttony (we literally ate all the flightless dodo birds – literally). And, of course, whenever the temperature warms (or cools), it’s mankind’s fault.

But sometimes, every so often, the human race gets a little credit, too. Like this week, when NASA reported that space probes discovered an artificial barrier around Earth that was created purely by human activity. The barrier is caused by low frequency radio communications “interacting with particles in space, which results in a sort of shield protecting Earth from high energy radiation in space,” Newsweek reports…

‘Penises Cause Climate Change’; Progressives Fooled By Peer-Reviewed Hoax Study – James Delingpole

Gender studies is a fake academic industry populated by charlatans, deranged activists and gullible idiots. Now, a pair of enterprising hoaxers has proved it scientifically by persuading an academic journal to peer-review and publish their paper claiming that the penis is not really a male genital organ but a social construct.

The paper, published by Cogent Social Sciences – “a multidisciplinary open access journal offering high quality peer review across the social sciences” – also claims that penises are responsible for causing climate change.

The two hoaxers are Peter Boghossian, a full-time faculty member in the Philosophy department at Portland State University, and James Lindsay, who has a doctorate in math and a background in physics.

They were hoping to emulate probably the most famous academic hoax in recent years: the Sokal Hoax – named after NYU and UCL physics professor Alan Sokal – who in 1996 persuaded an academic journal called Social Text to accept a paper titled “Transgressing the Boundaries: Towards a Transformative Hermeneutics of Quantum Gravity”…

“We Will Go To War; We Will Fight You”: China’s Xi Threatens Duterte If Philippines Drills For Oil – Zero Hedge
.

.
The Philippines’ outspoken president Rodrigo Duterte got a glimpse of the true snarling, belligerent Chinese dragon hiding behind the cheerful, globalist Panda facade earlier this week, when in response to a claim that his country was prepared to drill for oil in a disputed part of the South China Sea, China’s president Xi told him matter-of-factly that in that case he should prepare for war.

In a meeting on Monday between the two presidents, Duterte asserted his nation’s sovereignty over disputed South China Sea territory citing last year’s ruling by the Permanent Court of Arbitration. “We intend to drill oil there, if it’s yours, well, that’s your view, but my view is, I can drill the oil, if there is some inside the bowels of the earth because it is ours,” Duterte said in a speech, recalling his conversation with Xi…

Huge Medicare Fraud Tied To Obama Appointee’s Old Firm – Daily Caller

Federal prosecutors slapped a multi-billion dollar Medicare fraud charge against United Health Group (UHG) and a key subsidiary President Barack Obama’s former top insurance official once headed, according to an investigation by The Daily Caller News Foundation.

It was the third time health fraud charges have been filed against United and its two major subsidiaries, Optum and OptumInsight.

United spokesman Matthew Burns denied the allegations, saying in a statement, “We reject these more than 5-year-old claims and will contest them vigorously.”

Andy Slavitt, who led the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) under Obama and the Obamacare health insurance program, was CEO of OptumInsight and Group Executive Vice President for Optum where the fraud allegedly was committed.

He was a senior executive with UHG from 2003 to 2013 before he entered the Obama administration. Prosecutors claim the fraud continued from at least 2005 to 2014…

President Trump Signs $110 Billion Arms Deal With Saudi Arabia – Washington Examiner
.

.
President Trump on Saturday signed a $110 billion arms deal between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia.

The arms transaction is intended to bolster national security in Saudi Arabia as well as the country’s ability to combat terrorism. The White House says the agreement will provide fighter jets, tanks, radar, combat ships and anti-missile defense systems to Saudi Arabia and will create defense-related jobs in the U.S.

The defense cooperation agreements signed Saturday offer the Saudis $110 billion immediately, and ultimately worth $350 billion over the next decade. In total, Trump signed eight letters of acceptance and one letter of intent said White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders. Also signed was a joint vision statement and private sector agreements…

Leftist Corruption Update: Teachers’ Union Contract Guarantees Jail-Time Pay – Washington Free Beacon

Staff members at the nation’s largest teachers’ union are guaranteed pay for the time they spend in jail if it is related to union work.

Staffers at the National Education Association, the union that represents about 3 million American educators and school employees, are entitled to their standard wage rate during their incarceration, according to a copy of their contract first reported by The 74 Million.

“Some union staffers can receive incarceration pay ‘for reasons stemming from actions taken by him/her in the scope of his/her Association employment.’ The NEA contract specifies that this will be at the regular hourly rate for all time spent in jail,” the website reports.

The National Education Association Staff Organization represents 369 staff members employed by the union and takes in $600,000 in dues and fees each year – a drop in the bucket compared with the NEA’s $387 million revenue in 2016.

Neither the NEA nor the staffers’ union responded to request for comment about the provision or whether it has been invoked by union employees in the past…

General Mattis: Trump’s Orders Will ‘Annihilate’ ISIS – Breitbart
.

.
Defense Secretary James Mattis on Friday provided an update on the fight against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, including on two significant changes President Trump has authorized that will accelerate progress and defeat the terrorist group.

First, James Mattis said, Trump has authorized him to delegate more decision-making authority down to U.S. commanders who are on the ground with Iraqi and Syrian partners fighting ISIS, to speed up the program.

“No longer will we have slowed decision cycles because Washington D.C. has to authorize tactical movements on the ground. I have absolute confidence as does the president, our commander in chief, in the commanders on the ground,” Mattis said…

Fox News Shitcans Leftist Nutbag Bob Beckel – The Hill

Fox News fired former Democratic strategist Bob Beckel Friday for allegedly making an inappropriate remark to an African-American employee, The Hill has confirmed.

“HR was informed of the incident on Tuesday evening and did a thorough investigation within 48 hours,” a source familar with the matter tells The Hill. “The network came to a decision that Bob needed to be terminated early this morning.”

Beckel was co-host of “The Five,” a roundtable opinion program which recently moved from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. amid the scheduling shake-up following host Bill O’Reilly’s firing over sexual harassment allegations.

It’s not clear what the alleged remark was, but Fox said in a statement to Variety that Beckel’s words were “insensitive.”

In 2014, Beckel apologized for making a racist slur against Asians on air.

Beckel’s firing comes as Fox faces a racial discrimination lawsuit from African-American employees…

Creepy Leftist Pervert Pleads Guilty In Teen Sexting Case – Reuters
.

.
Former U.S. Congressman Anthony Weiner wept on Friday as he pleaded guilty in federal court to sending sexually explicit messages to a teenage girl, ending an investigation into a “sexting” scandal that played a role in last year’s U.S. presidential election.

Wearing a navy-colored suit, maroon tie and his wedding band, a tearful Weiner, 52, described his conduct before U.S. District Judge Loretta Preska in New York City.

“I have a sickness, but I do not have an excuse,” Weiner said, apologizing to the 15-year-old girl to whom he sent sexually explicit images and messages last year.

The charge of transferring obscene material to a minor carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison, but Weiner is likely to get less…

Pathetic: RNC Chair Has To Urge GOP Scum To Support Trump – Amy Moreno

Much of the Republican Party, consisting of establishment puppet traitors like Marco Rubio, John McCain, Justin Amash, Paul Ryan, and others like them, are more dangerous and disappointing than the Democrats.

At least we KNOW who Democrats are – they’re the enemy.

These traitorous GOP’ers are wolves in sheep’s clothing – pretending to be on “our side” but sabotaging President Trump every step of the way.

It’s a sad day in America and within the Republican Party when the chair, Ronna Romney McDaniel, has to URGE GOP’ers to support their damn president.

It’s sickening.

Every one of these traitors is usurping our will and they are an enemy of we the people and must be dealt with accordingly.

In other words, boot them the hell out of office…

Planned Parenthood’s attempt to fight back against calls to end federal funding for the abortion provider doesn’t seem to be winning a lot of fans online.

The new “Watch. Share. Slay.” campaign features a new video produced by action film director Jos Whedon, who is best known for superhero shows like “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “The Avengers.”

“If there’s anything we’ve learned from Joss Whedon – over the years, it’s this – every single one of us has a hero inside; and it’s our responsibility to use our superpowers to slay,” Planned Parenthood posted to its website.

“Planned Parenthood and the 2.5 million people our health centers serve every year could use a lot more superheros right now,” the site reads…

Professor Receives Over $200,000 To Study ‘Microaggressions’ – Daily Caller

The National Science Foundation awarded a professor over $200,000 to research microaggressions. Specifically, her research seeks to identify how microagressions keep racial minorities from comprising a larger chunk of science, technology, engineering and mathematics jobs, and it seeks ways to improve minority representation in these fields.

Mary Atwater, a science and mathematics education professor at the University of Georgia, received $229,061 to study microaggressions and their implications, according to a statement the university released Monday.

“This grant can have an impact on the number of African-American and Latino faculty members we have in science education,” said Atwater in the university’s statement.

A “microaggression” is “a comment or action that subtly and often unconsciously or unintentionally expresses a prejudiced attitude toward a member of a marginalized group (such as a racial minority),” as defined by Merriam-Webster. For example, asking a person their ethnic background would be a microagression…

Jason Chaffetz Announces He Will Leave Congress Early, Won’t Finish Out Term – Independent Journal Review
.

.
House Oversight Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) announced Thursday that he will be leaving Congress early. Chaffetz previously announced that he would not seek re-election, though he was expected to finish out his term, currently slated to end in 2018.

In a statement released Thursday afternoon, Chaffetz said:

Serving you in the U.S. House of Representatives for nearly nine years has been a rare honor and privilege. When I first ran for Congress in 2008 I promised I would get in, serve, and get out. I told voters I did not believe Congress should be a lifetime career. I knew from day one that my service there would not last forever.

As you know, after careful consideration and long discussion with my wife, Julie, we agree the time has come for us to move on from this part of our life…

More Than 7 Million Voter Registrations Are Duplicated In Multiple States – Washington Free Beacon

More than 7 million voter registrations appear to be registered in two states simultaneously, according to data obtained by the Washington Free Beacon. The new voter data was gathered from the Kansas-run interstate voter registration crosscheck program, which is used to identify “possible duplicate registrations among states.”

The program began in December 2005 and conducted its first crosscheck in 2006. It is administered by the office of Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, who was tapped recently to help lead President Trump’s voter fraud commission.

The newest data is from crosschecks of voter registrations across 28 states that participate in the program. At least 7.2 million registrations appeared in two states at once, according to the data.

Georgia (660,708), North Carolina (561,811), and Illinois (542,065) lead the 28 states studied in potential duplicated voter registrations across state lines. The study shows that more than 916,000 people appear to be registered multiple times within their state of residence…

Julian Assange Rape Charges Dropped By Swedish Authorities – Fox News
.

.
Sweden’s top prosecutor said Friday she would drop the investigation into a rape claim against Julian Assange after almost seven years – but the controversial WikiLeaks founder isn’t a free man just yet.

Assange took refuge in Ecuador’s Embassy in London in 2012 to escape extradition to Sweden to answer questions about sex-crime accusations from two women. He has been there ever since, claiming officials could ultimately extradite him to the United States.

Friday’s announcement meant Assange no longer was under any investigation in Sweden. However, British police said Assange was still wanted in the U.K. for jumping bail – so he could still face arrest if he leaves the Ecuadorean Embassy…

Austrian Burqa Ban Passed Into Law – Breitbart

Austria has passed into law a ban on wearing full-face Islamic veils, such as the burqa and the niqab, in public. Violators face fines when the legislation comes into effect in October.

The law is part of an integration package agreed upon by the coalition government, comprised of the Austrian People’s Party (ضVP) and the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPض), after initial resistance by the socialists, Die Welt reports.

The integration package will also prohibit the public distribution of the Quran after a radical Islamist group called “The True Religion” used the handing out of books as a front to recruit new members. The group was ultimately banned in Germany after being raided by police and accused of spreading hatred.

When the law comes into effect in October, the penalty for anyone caught wearing the burqa or niqab will be a fine of roughly 150 euros. Much of the anti-Islamisation aspects of the package were proposed and championed by the new leader of the conservative ضVP and Austrian Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz…

FCC To Begin Reversing Obama Regime’s Net Neutrality Rules – Washington Free Beacon
.

.
The Federal Communications Commission voted 2-1 to begin the process of reversing the Obama administration’s net neutrality rules.

Chairman Ajit Pai said this is “just the beginning,” as his proposal will now be open to public comment for 90 days. Pai said eliminating Title II net neutrality rules would return the FCC to a “Clinton-era style of light touch regulation” over the Internet.

The Obama-era Title II rules classified Internet service providers as utilities, instead of information services, for the first time in history. The rules subjected ISPs to broad government regulation and rules for how companies can manage traffic over their own networks.

Pai said Internet companies have told the commission the rules are “heavy-handed” and “rife with uncertainty.”…

Flashback: Obama Broke At Least 78 Laws As President – Truth Division

The list is might long, and is a striking record of Obama’s real legacy – the one the media pundits and Democrats will not tell you about:

1) Illegally armed Mexican drug cartels and ISIS militants

In Operation Fast and Furious, the Obama administration facilitated the sale of thousands of guns to Mexican drug cartels and stopped tracking those weapons once they crossed the border so the administration could later blame the Second Amendment.

“The Department of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives apparently ordered one of its own agents to purchase firearms with taxpayer money, and sell them directly to a Mexican drug cartel,” the New York Post reported. “Let that sink in: After months of pretending that ‘Fast and Furious’ was a botched surveillance operation of illegal gun-running spearheaded by the ATF and the US attorney’s office in Phoenix, it turns out that the government itself was selling guns to the bad guys.”…

Immigration Arrests Jump Nearly 40 Percent Under Trump – Daily Caller
.

.
Immigration arrests climbed yet again in April as federal agents continued to track down both criminal and non-criminal aliens in far greater numbers over the first 100 days of the Trump administration than they did under former President Obama a year ago.

ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) deportation officers administratively arrested 41,318 illegal aliens on civil immigration charges between Jan. 22 and April 29, according to agency data released Wednesday. That was a 38 percent jump over the 30,028 arrests made in the same time period in 2016, the final year of the Obama administration.

ICE says it has averaged about 400 arrests per day since President Trump in January signed executive orders authorizing stepped up immigration enforcement…
