.

.
The House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence is ramping up investigation into former President Barack Obama administration’s campaign to “unmask” President Donald Trump aides who were incidentally surveilled in meetings with foreign officials, The Daily Caller News Foundation Investigative Group has learned.

The committee is also intensifying a probe into Fusion GPS, a private “opposition research” company that distributed a salacious memo on Trump, called the “Trump Dossier.”

Over the next two weeks the House committee is expected to privately interview former U.N. Ambassador Samantha Power, who reportedly unmasked or identified as many as 260 Americans, primarily Trump campaign or transition officials…

DOJ Orders FBI To Investigate Weinstein Sex Allegations – News Max

Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ Department of Justice has ordered the FBI to investigate the sexual misconduct allegations surrounding Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein.

According to The Daily Mail, the FBI will open a probe into what Weinstein may have done to several women over the years. Weinstein was fired from the production company he founded and that bears his name last weekend after news reports surfaced that he had sexually harassed several women.

Subsequent reports suggest he may have even committed rape.

TMZ reported Tuesday that Weinstein planned to fly to Europe to begin sex therapy treatment in an unknown country. If he were to stay in Europe and take refuge there, and criminal charges were eventually brought against him in the U.S., he might be able to avoid prosecution by staying put because some European countries do not conduct extraditions to the U.S.

Roman Polanski did just that after he was convicted of raping a 13-year-old girl in 1977…

High-Ranking Democrat Senators Gave Campaign Cash To Menendez After Indictment – Washington Free Beacon
.

.
A number of high-ranking Democratic senators combined to contribute tens of thousands of dollars to Sen. Robert Menendez’s (D., N.J.) campaign committee this year, a review of Federal Election Commission records shows.

Menendez, who was indicted in April 2015, is currently facing 12 counts of corruption charges that include bribery. Prosecutors have said that the senator had a “corrupt pact” with Salomon Melgen, a wealthy Florida eye doctor, a previous donor to Menendez’s campaign.

Menendez himself has contributed to the campaigns of a number of top Democratic senators this year from his leadership PAC, the New Millennium PAC, the Washington Free Beacon previously reported…

Pharmacist Says He Has Filled Alzheimer’s Prescriptions For Members Of Congress – Vox

Erin Mershon at STAT News recently spent some time shadowing the pharmacist who provides prescription drugs to many members of Congress. Her story, which you can read in full here, includes a relatively alarming passage in which the pharmacist casually mentions that some members apparently have Alzheimer’s:

Mike Kim, the reserved pharmacist-turned-owner of the pharmacy, said he has gotten used to knowing the most sensitive details about some of the most famous people in Washington.

“At first it’s cool, and then you realize, I’m filling some drugs that are for some pretty serious health problems as well. And these are the people that are running the country,” Kim said, listing treatments for conditions like diabetes and Alzheimer’s.

“It makes you kind of sit back and say, ‘Wow, they’re making the highest laws of the land and they might not even remember what happened yesterday.’”

The current Congress is among the oldest in history, and more than half of the senators running for reelection in 2018 will be over 65…

Malawi President Vows Probe As ‘Vampire’ Scare Forces UN Out – PressTV
.

.
Malawi President Peter Mutharika on Tuesday vowed a thorough investigation after seven people were murdered by vigilantes in a vampire scare that has driven UN staffers out of the affected region.

Since mid-September, vigilantes have slaughtered seven people suspected of trying to obtain and drink human blood as part of magic rituals.

The vampire rumors sweeping the country’s southern region have forced authorities to impose a night-time curfew, restricting movement to 10 hours from 07:00 (05:00 GMT) until 17:00 (15:00 GMT).

The UN – which is involved in food aid and agricultural assistance programs – has pulled its workers out of the area for safety reasons…

Teen Accused Of Raping Neighbor, Offering Yardwork To Make Amends – Palm Beach Post

An 18-year-old suburban Boynton Beach man is being held at the Palm Beach County Jail without bond after he allegedly raped his neighbor, according to an arrest report. After the assault, Timothy Adam Walding asked the woman if he could make it up to her by doing yardwork, the sheriff’s office report said.

Walding, of suburban Boynton Beach, is facing three counts of sexual assault with a weapon and one count each of burglary and false imprisonment.

Walding allegedly raped the woman Friday after breaking into her home while she slept. The report said he put a knife to the woman’s throat and tied her hands to the bed before beginning the assaults.

The woman told deputies that following the attacks, Walding remained at the home speaking to her. Walding, who was wearing a mask, insisted that the woman knew him, the report said. After some time, the victim realized Walding was her neighbor…

Trump: ‘Fake NBC News’ Nuke Story ‘Pure Fiction’ – The Hill
.

.
President Trump on Wednesday forcefully denied an NBC News report that he asked to dramatically expand the U.S. nuclear arsenal and suggested he might pull the network’s broadcasting license.

“Fake @NBCNews made up a story that I wanted a ‘tenfold’ increase in our U.S. nuclear arsenal. Pure fiction, made up to demean. NBC = CNN!” he tweeted.

In a subsequent tweet, the president wrote: “With all of the Fake News coming out of NBC and the Networks, at what point is it appropriate to challenge their License? Bad for country!”

Utah Cop Fired After Arresting Nurse Who Wouldn’t Draw Blood – USA Today

A Utah police detective who was filmed forcefully handcuffing a nurse who refused to draw a patient’s blood has been fired, a Salt Lake City Police spokesman said Tuesday.

Detective Jeff Payne arrested Alex Wubbels after she refused to allow police to take blood from an unconscious patient who had been injured in a car accident. Body-cam footage of the July 26 incident went viral after it became public in September, sparking outrage across social media.

In the video, Wubbels explains to the officers that they needed a warrant because the patient couldn’t consent. Payne appears to grow tired of listening to Wubbels objections, saying, “We’re done here. We’re done,” before shoving her out the door and handcuffing her.

Wubbels was held in a police car, but later was freed without charges.

Gordon Crabtree, CEO of University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City, later said hospital security should have intervened and changed hospital policy so that police officer can only speak to senior nurse supervisors…

Supreme Court Tosses One Of Two Travel Ban Challenges – Reuters

The U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday threw out an appeals court ruling that struck down President Donald Trump’s previous temporary travel ban targeting several Muslim-majority nations countries that has now expired.

In a one-page order, the court acted in one of two cases pending before the nine justices over Trump’s travel ban, a case from Maryland brought by the American Civil Liberties Union, which sued to stop the ban contained in a March executive order.

For now, the court did not act on a separate challenge brought by the state of Hawaii, which the court had also agreed to hear. That case also features a challenge to a separate 120-day refugee ban, which has not yet expired.

That case could yet be dismissed once the refugee ban expires on Oct. 24, meaning the court remains unlikely to issue a final ruling on whether the ban was lawful. The justices were unanimous in deciding against ruling in the Maryland case…

New York Times’ Destroy-Trump Agenda Exposed – Frontpage
.

.
Project Veritas has just released a video further confirming what we already know about the New York Times. It is a leading member of the anti-Trump fake news media club. In this video, Nick Dudich, Audience Strategy Editor for NYT Video, who manages videos displayed on social media for the Times, admitted on hidden-camera that the Times “always” makes sure that anti-Trump stories make it to the left-wing newspaper’s front page.

When asked about being objective at the Times, which its ethical handbook says is so important to preserving its reputation, Dudich replied, “No I’m not, that’s why I’m here.” Indeed, Dudich carried his political biases from his days working on the political campaigns of both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton to the Times without missing a beat…

McConnell Scrambles To Soothe Conservative Anger Over Slow Judicial Confirmations – Daily Caller
.

.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is attempting to assuage the concerns that conservative activists have raised as late regarding the languid pace of judicial confirmations.

According to the Judicial Conference of the United States, 149 vacancies currently exist in the federal courts. President Donald Trump has named 50 judicial nominees since taking office, submitting a slate of approximately 10 candidates every month. Thus far, the Senate has confirmed just seven, including Justice Neil Gorsuch.

The president’s nominating pace is astoundingly fast compared to recent administrations. Former President Barack Obama named just 10 judicial nominees during his first year in office, including Justice Sonia Sotomayor. Former President George Bush named only four…

By Censoring Marsha Blackburn, Twitter Supercharged Her Senate Campaign – Washington Examiner
.

.
Martyrdom is a powerful political force, a resource that Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., has used to jump start her campaign for Senate courtesy of the bumbling censorship of Silicon Valley.

On Monday the self-described “hardcore, card-carrying Tennessee conservative” announced her bid for the seat of retiring Republican Sen. Bob Corker in a rather unremarkable two-minute clip. But what might’ve been overlooked quickly went viral when Twitter pulled the ad from its website deeming Blackburn’s rhetoric about abortion “inflammatory.”

The political equivalent of nitrous-oxide, that censorship just supercharged Blackburn’s campaign. Overnight Twitter achieved at least two things for the Tennessee conservative free of charge…

California Sheriffs Call On Congress To Stop Their ‘Sanctuary’ State – Blunt Force Truth

California’s sheriffs are calling on the GOP-controlled Congress to intervene and pass a federal law to change the state’s sanctuary state status, warning the law that ties their hands too tightly will only increase the chances of another high-profile tragedy.

The sanctuary state law, which Gov. Jerry Brown (D.) signed Thursday but doesn’t go into effect until January, is the most far-reaching of its kind in the country and places sharp limits on how local law enforcement agencies can communicate with federal immigration authorities.

It would also make it a crime to enforce federal immigration laws on the premises of all schools, hospitals, libraries, and courthouses in state, which is home to an estimated two million immigrants.

Making the entire state a sanctuary for illegal immigrants is California’s latest salvo in its war with President Donald Trump over immigration policy, but law enforcement officials say it’s the state’s citizens who will pay the price with higher crime rates and avoidable tragedies…

Trump Threatens To Kill Tax Breaks For NFL Stadiums; Goodell Tells Teams To Stand For Anthem – Washington Times
.

.
President Trump escalated his battle with pro football players protesting the national anthem by urging the government Tuesday to end use of tax-exempt municipal bonds used to build or renovate National Football League stadiums.

Hours later, the NFL appeared to acquiesce. Commissioner Roger Goodell released a letter saying the league’s position is that “everyone should stand.”

It remains to be seen how the league follows through on that stance, but it suggests the NFL is feeling the heat from a president who has spent the better part of a month blasting the anthem protests and turning the issue into a major dividing line in American society.

“Why is the NFL getting massive tax breaks while at the same time disrespecting our Anthem…

Harvey Weinstein’s Credit To Be Removed From All TWC TV Series – Hollywood Reporter

The Weinstein Co. is also considering changing its name in the wake of the allegations against its now-former co-founder.

Harvey Weinstein’s TV credits are going to become a thing of the past.

Starting with Wednesday’s episode of The Weinstein Co.-produced Project Runway, the now-former co-founder of the production company’s name will no longer appear as an executive producer.

Sources confirm to The Hollywood Reporter that TWC has reached out to multiple networks and granted them permission to remove Weinstein’s name from the credits in the wake of his ouster from the company following multiple allegations about sexual harassment.

Insiders say TWC is also considering a name change as it looks to further distance itself from Weinstein.

Other shows that will see Weinstein’s name removed from credits include History’s Six (renewed for a second season) and Paramount Network’s upcoming Waco miniseries, Kevin Costner drama Yellowstone and Rest in Power…

ISIS Terrorists Surrender En Masse From Last Iraqi Stronghold – Business Insider
.

.
When U.S.-backed Iraqi security forces and Iranian Shia militias cleared ISIS’ final Iraqi stronghold in Hawijah, they met weak resistance and a massive surrender from a once fearsome army.

In 2015 and 2016, ISIS, the terrorist group also known as the Islamic State, carried out suicide attacks around the globe at a historic rate. The group, founded in June 2014, has long demanded that its militants fight or die, and it often sends young men and even children on suicide-bombing missions.

But as the group weakens on the ground, it seems to have shifted course.

A U.S. Department of Defense release on the battle for Hawijah cites “many sources reporting more than 1,000 terrorists surrendered.”…

EPA To Repeal Obama’s Clean Power Regulations – Washington Examiner

Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt will sign a proposed rule on Tuesday to repeal the Obama administration’s Clean Power Plan restrictions on coal plants, he announced Monday morning in the coal-mining state of Kentucky.

“Regulatory power should not be used by any regulatory body to pick winners and losers,” Pruitt said alongside Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky.

The plan has been on ice since February 2016, when the Supreme Court blocked it as it worked its way through the courts. The D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals heard oral arguments from more than two dozen states and over 100 industry groups challenging the Obama-era rules in September 2016, but has not ruled on the case.

Pruitt said the withdrawal of the plan, which requires states to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions one-third by 2030, would come Tuesday. Many climate scientists blame greenhouse gas emissions from burning fossil fuels for driving manmade climate change…

George Soros, NFL Players Union Lock Arms Against Trump – American Mirror
.

.
Follow the money to find the truth, and in this case, it leads squarely to the doorstep of George Soros and other radical far-left advocacy groups. And as it turns out, the Colin Kaepernick-inspired national anthem protests may not have been such an organic, grassroots uprising after all.

The NFL Players Association (NFLPA) doesn’t appear to be on the same political page as many of its fans, so its no wonder they would rather keep the lid on the causes it supports. That lid was popped open on Friday by 2ndVote, a conservative watchdog organization for corporate activism.

The National Football League Players Association has recently financially supported a veritable “who’s who” list of far-left organizations, from Planned Parenthood to organizations protesting the deportation of illegal immigrants, among many others…
