Liberal fascists must be running out of Confederate generals to banish to the memory hole. Now they are going after heroes of the Texas Revolution, starting at the top:
The Sam Houston statue has been at Hermann Park since 1925, but a group that calls itself Texas Antifa has started a campaign to take down this and any other landmark that bears the name Sam Houston. …
[Last] Thursday, the group posted on its Facebook page saying, “Texans agree the disgusting idols of America’s dark days of slavery must be removed to bring internal peace to our country.”
The group also suggested Mayor Sylvester Turner should back the removal of the statue, because of his ethnicity and political affiliation.
Erasing a nation’s history is one path to destroying the country itself. That is the agenda of the Left. Of course there are other paths too, all of which the Left agitates and advocates for. Consider what the Left is always attacking
National borders/national sovereignty
The supplanting of rule of law in favor of social justice
The right of self-defense, freedoms of religion, speech and association.
The right to own property
Traditional gender roles, and, in fact gender itself
The long standing definition of marriage
I could easily go on, and on, but try this. As an exercise, just make a list of anything that is traditional about America. Our culture, values, traditions, holidays, you name it. I can think of nothing about America the Left is not trying to destroy.
Anger, sadness, disbelief, and fear for what will be left of American heritage, history, and culture in fifty years. Yep, that sums up my feelings upon reading this
Public Statement from the Board of Friends of Nash Farm Battlefield, Inc.
May 23, 2017
The Board of the Friends of Nash Farm Battlefield, Inc. is sad to announce that the museum, located on Nash Farm Battlefield, which was funded and maintained by our group, will close effective June 1, 2017. The main reason is that the current District 2 Commissioner, Dee Clemmons, has requested that ALL Confederate flags be removed from the museum, in addition to the gift shop, in an effort not to offend anyone. For anyone who studies the American Civil War, or War Between the States, they realize there were two parties that fought in this war. We have always prided ourselves with being an unbiased museum that told the entire story of the battles that took place on this property, as well as being a voice of the people in Henry County and Georgia during this time. These stories were told mainly through primary sources, sometimes secondary, but never tertiary sources. To exclude any Confederate flag would mean the historical value has been taken from our exhibits, and a fair interpretation could not be presented to each guest. Confederate flags were on this hallowed ground, as were the Union flags. To remove either of them would be a dishonor.
Additionally, Commissioner Clemmons stated that this property, which the county spent in excess of $8 million dollars, has no historical significance per the current board. Interestingly, the Department of Interior has recognized this property as core battlefield and there is a primary source where a request is made that the government pay retribution for the damage to the property during the battle. This is clear proof of the historical basis of this property; yet, more could be provided if necessary. This property has the blood of Union and Confederate soldiers in the soil and needs to be preserved as the battlefield that it is.
The Board of the Friends of Nash Farm Battlefield, Inc. complied when Commissioner Clemmons requested, soon after her taking office, that the entrenchments be removed from the property. When she had the Second National Confederate Flag removed from the flag pole where it has been flying since Henry County purchased the property, again we complied and did not create a disturbance in hopes that the museum would be left alone. The final order from Commissioner Clemmons is one that we cannot and will not comply with. We were told that we are at the “pleasure of the (Henry County) Commission”. Her directive is something we cannot comply with in good consciences.
To date, the museum, in its seven years of operation, has seen visitors from all 50 states and 15 foreign countries. Heritage tourism dollars have added money to the tax base in Henry and Clayton Counties, helping to fund many projects, including roads and schools. Prior to the recession, it was not uncommon to see over 2,000 students in a year; however, the yearly school day now has just shy of 500 students who visit not only the museum, but many different hands on stations to help to engage every student. Never have we had a teacher or student complain about the variety of flags or uniforms being presented in these educational settings. In fact, most teachers applaud our efforts to help them in the classroom.
The Friends of Nash Farm Battlefield, Inc. has not only been active on an educational aspect, but has helped Henry County in many ways to manage this beautiful battlefield. We have worked with the Boy Scouts, Eagles Scouts, the Audubon Society, Master Gardeners, Civil War Trust, and other community groups. Our volunteers have put up split rail fencing, painted, cleared barbed wire, mowed, graded roads, picked up debris, fixed many “broken” things around the property, and so much more. Our mission was to assist Henry County, not only with the historical aspect of the property, but to make this a property the entire community could be proud of. To be honest, majority of the people in District 2 are proud of Nash Farm Battlefield.
There will be many who will think the Friends of Nash Farm Battlefield, Inc. should have stood up to this censorship. Currently, the museum operates out of the old Nash farmhouse, which is owned by Henry County, and all utilities are paid by the county. The relics that were displayed, with the exception of a small amount that Henry County owns, were on loan to our group. When our key volunteer and donor made the decision to pull his relics, the Board had no other decision than to close the museum. We could have kept the doors open sporadically and showed beautiful display cases that were empty. When you engage in a conflict, your goal is to gain ground. The Board felt the only decision we had was to close the museum. This has not been an easy decision as many of our volunteers have donated much time, money, sweat, and tears to this property. The Friends of Nash Farm Battlefield was created after the Steering Committee was dissolved by the Henry County Board of Commissioners over 10 years ago. That is over a decade of work that some of our volunteers have contributed to this property.
As a Board, we ask that you contact not only Commissioner Clemmons, but also all the other Henry County Board of Commissioners, to let them know how you feel about the current political climate that affected the closing of Nash Farm Battlefield Museum. It is important that you voice your opinion to these politicians so they know there is public support for the historical aspect of this property.
Thank you to all the groups and individuals who have supported Friends of Nash Farm Battlefield, Inc. over the years. Our volunteers have been honored to work to preserve history and work diligently to improve the community. We can only hope that this property and its history will be sustained for future generations.
Respectfully Submitted by the Board of Friends of Nash Farm Battlefield, Inc.
One way to destroy a nation is to destroy its history. Think about this, we have been told that he Confederate flag belongs in museums, well, now, those same Cultural Stalinists are going to insist they must not be in museums. What is next you might wonder. The answer is simple, the American flag, the Founders, our national anthem, and so on are next. This is the price we have paid for not standing up to he bullies and thugs of the Left before. And we will continue to pay that price until enough of us say ENOUGH!
Not all of Hollywood is Left of Lenin
It is good to see that someone in Hollywood has some sense, and this is not the first time Schneider has shown his ability to see past Liberal Speak
Last month, Schneider claimed that the Democratic Party had lost the “ability to reason,” urging them to blame themselves for Hillary Clinton’s defeat rather than the Russian government.
“2010 Dems lost the House, 2012 Dems lost the Senate, 2016 Dems lost the White House, 2017 Dems lost ability to reason, It’s not Russia, it’s YOU,” Scheider said.
Years ago, I met a woman at a party, her name was Misty, and she was a Lesbian. How did I become aware of her sexual preference for women? Well, she told me, and I think everyone that would stand still that she was into women. I remember her face as she introduced herself to me. “I am Misty, and I am a Lesbian”, she said, beaming. “Hi”, I replied, “I am Doug and I do not care if you are a Lesbian!” The look on her face was priceless. She was stunned that her orientation might be, well of no real concern for other people. In short she was so wrapped up in her Lesbianism, that everything revolved around that.
Here is a hint, for everyone. No one really wants to hear about your sexual orientation/religion/favorite sports team/race or you favorite charity constantly. People like that get old pretty quick frankly. So you might want to put a sock in it every once in a while, just saying. What brought this up was a story out of Jasper Indiana. There one high school student has had enough of the identity-obsesssed types
The unidentified 16-year-old posted “Straight Pride” posters at Jasper High School last week, and the hilarious notices are not going over so well with school officials, the Dubois County Herald reports.
“Celebrate being straight at JHS by not annoying the heck out of everyone about your sexual orientation!” read the flyers, posted in the school’s hallways after classes last Thursday. “It’s easy! Just come to the JHS, then you go about your day without telling everyone about how ‘different’ and ‘special’ you are!”
The straight pride posters were “brought to you by all the students that are sick of hearing about your LGBT pride,” they continued.
“Nobody cares about what you think you are,” the posters read. “If you want equality, stop shoving your ideas down our throats! We have nothing against your sexual orientation. We just don’t care!”
EXACTLY!! We do not care, your sex life is your business, have at it. You being gay, or trans, or pan-sexual, or whatever matters not to the vast majority of people. Of course school officials are wetting themselves to avoid causing an outbreak of Offendeditis
Greater Jasper Superintendent Tracy Lorey promised parents the notices do not represent the attitude of most students and staff at the school.
Oh stop, I would bet that is the very sincere feelings of most students, and parents, and likely most Gay people as well. The student who put up the posters wrote this to clarify their stance
“By saying that certain individuals are shoving ideas down other people’s throats, I did not mean that they should not have the right to practice their own freedom of speech. What was being referenced was the idea that whenever an individual decides not to support the ideas of another individual, they face being attacked, ostracized, and detested. What was being referenced was the fact that individuals who do not support progressive ideology are forced to accept or remain censored,” the student wrote.
“Reactionaries … simply want to be able to retain the right to not accept your views. I support the social ideology of equality for all people protected under the Constitution, but I also recognize the fact that my peers have the right to object to other people’s ideas without their ideas being censored even if it is seen as hate speech.”
“People simply want to let you know that they have the right to object to your ideas. People can love you and disagree with you at the same time,” the student wrote.
The newest “trigger” for the modern day Brown Shirts is, it seems, something called “Cultural Appropriation”. This appropriation, and the Leftist freak out that follows, occurs when someone dares cook a dish or style their hair in a way that is deemed to belong to a certain race or color. Some examples include anyone who is not Black cooking greens, or fried chicken, or other Southern dishes. This is idiotic of course, because Southern is not a color, and Southerners of all races have been eating such foods for generations. It is also asinine because no Southerner in their right mind gets offended if a Yankee decides to make cornbread, collards and fried pork chops. Why the Hell would we get offended, if anything such an act would be a compliment. Further, why should we be putting up barriers between ethnicities and cultures? Is this not the polar opposite of being color blind?
Today, however, being color-blind is no longer a value the Left espouses. In fact, the opposite is true. Now, being a person who judges people based on shared ideals and values rather than race are smeared as racists. It is the politics of division the Left champions now. It has even gotten so bad that, as actress, Ellen Pompeo found out that White people using “Black” emojis are attacked for RAAAAACISM!
Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo has been criticized by woke social justice warriors after using black emojis on Twitter, with some users accusing her of overstepping her bounds as “a privileged white woman”.
One user, who has since set her account private, wrote: “It’s not fair to see a privileged white woman use [people of color] emojis just because you can.”
“It comes off as really obnoxious,” she added.
Obnoxious you say? As obnoxious as attacking someone because they do not segregate their emojis? REALLY! But, this miscreant was not alone in her outrageously outrageous outrage! Pompeo, being a reasonable person offered up this tweet
Of course, she was answered with more “tolerance”
This sparked further tweets directed at the actress accusing her of racism. After she said that it’s “sad to see racism is still alive and well on all sides,” people attacked her suggesting reverse-racism is real. One person wrote: “reverse racism isn’t real. White people don’t experience racism”.
To which Pompeo replied saying “I’ve been called a white B**** and countless other things 50000 times today what would you call it?”
Despite this, the people continued ganging up on the actress, saying “you literally said reverse racism exist JUST APOLOGIZE AND LOG OFF stop embarrassing and contradicting yourself”.
See? Tolerance! This is what the Left’s incessant message of identity politics, and grievance mongering has wrought. People so consumed with bigotry and bitterness that they attack people based on nothing more being the wrong color. I feel badly for Pompeo, she seems like a nice person, but being nice, nor being a Liberal are of any use when you transgress against the new Brown Shirts! Not at all. You must walk the line, or else! Of course, there is a positive here. The more the unhinged Left acts out the more Americans will reject such despicable attitudes and bigotry which permeate the Left.
Why, you ask, would masculinity be targeted by the Left. Two reasons. First, men have always fought wars, and traditionally, men are the protectors. Anything traditional has been under assault by the Left for decades now. Don’t believe me, look at what the Left is campaigning against right now. Traditional gender roles, the traditional family, men acting like, well, men. Hunting, prayer, competitive sports, ambition, the list goes on and on. Pretty much anything traditional in American culture is in the crosshairs of the Left.
Secondly, and most importantly it is for the same reason the Left targets firearms. They want compliance, not resistance, and men will stand, and fight, and lead others in defense of Individualism, and the Left loathes that. So, it comes as no shock that the political correctors are targeting masculinity as “toxic” Dave Blount sounds the alarm
Despite decades of politically correct indoctrination, men are still somewhat male. No worries, moonbats. Academia has been working hard to correct this:
For example, a class at Dartmouth College this semester, “The Orlando Syllabus,” identifies so-called toxic masculinity as playing a role in the mass murder spree at a Florida club during the summer. …
Other instances of combating toxic masculinity on campus can be found at both the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and Duke University, which launched programs specifically designed for male students to delve into “violent masculinity” and “healthier masculinity” and discuss issues like gender fluidity.
At a mandatory freshmen orientation training at Gettysburg College in August, male students had to watch a documentary which stated in part that the “three most destructive words” a boy can hear growing up is “be a man.” …
The “Thrive” club, part of the Claremont colleges consortium which meets as a “safe space” to talk about mental health, advertises that “masculinity can be extremely toxic to our mental health, both to the people who are pressured to perform it and the people who are inevitably influenced by it.” …
Last year, Vanderbilt University hosted “Healthy Masculinities Week,” led in part by Jackson Katz, the first man to minor in women studies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Katz has denounced men for having muscular physiques; he also dislikes “hyper-masculinized sporting culture.”
In short, Katz has serious issues, and wants everyone else to reshape themselves to accommodate his shortcomings and eccentricities. Katz, you see is special, and rather than admitting he has issues, he demands thateveryone else must change to appease his screwed up emotions.
