Virginia Representative Brat calls CNN/Dems over Trump bashing

Collusion, collusion, collusion. That is all we hear, but, as Brat points out is whether or not a crime was committed is the important thing. We know the media is eager to get Trump on something, anything. We know that Democrats are using these stories/accusations/hyperventilating to deter the administration’s agenda. Could the president handle some of this better? Yes, of course. Should President use Twitter in a better way? Yep he could, and should.

As already stated, most of the “Russia hacked the election” narrative is baloney. It is a nothing burger with extra nothing! The Republicans should, in my view, let the Democrats wail and whine. Republicans have the majority in both houses, use them! Scrap the filibuster, stop letting Chucky Schumer deter the agenda. Democrats do not play nice, why should Republicans?  Repeal ObamaCare rather than trying to keep most of it, get meaningful tax reform done, address the budget. And, if Democrats wish to help in any of those processes great. If not, then make damn sure to let the American people see who the party of no is. If the Democrats want to hold meaningless hearings, let them! Stop playing the Democrat’s game of delay, delay, and delay. In short lead!

The American people have given the GOP a majority of governorships. They have voted overwhelmingly for GOP majorities in legislatures across the nation. They voted for a Republican majority in the House, and in the Senate. They elected a Republican president. Given these facts Republicans ought to be able to see the writing on the wall. Americans gave the GOP a to do list. Now the GOP needs to start checking off items on that list!

DoJ No Longer Sharing Lawsuit Payouts With Activist Groups

An important — and expensive — incentive for legal action involving the Department of Justice will come to an abrupt end. The DoJ announced this morning that it would end the practice of crafting settlements to lawsuits that resulted in significant financial awards to activists groups, a practice that had flourished in Barack Obama’s administration. A memo from Attorney General Jeff Sessions rejects this policy, saying any punitive and restorative damages collected in lawsuits should go to American taxpayers:

In a memo sent to 94 U.S. attorneys’ offices early Wednesday, Attorney General Jeff Sessions said he would end the practice that allowed companies to meet settlement burdens by giving money to groups that were neither victims nor parties to the case.
Sessions said the money should, instead, go to the Treasury Department or victims.
“When the federal government settles a case against a corporate wrongdoer, any settlement funds should go first to the victims and then to the American people—not to bankroll third-party special interest groups or the political friends of whoever is in power,” Sessions said in a statement.

While the practice existed before the Obama administration, it flourished under Attorneys General Eric Holder and Loretta Lynch. The DoJ would pursue a case against a big-pocketed defendant, and then push them into a settlement that suddenly included contributions to any number of Democratic Party interest groups. Not only was this an inappropriate politicization of the DoJ and of attorney-client interests, it was also a big incentive to sue people so as to pay off constituencies. The DoJ’s announcement called it a “slush fund,” but it operated more like a shakedown.

One of the most egregious things Team Obama did was marry his administration to left wing groups in this manner. That deplorable type of thing has now ended. It is important to remember that so many of the damaging things Obama did were not legislative, but via executive orders. So many of those need to go away, and many are being erased, remember the Dakota Pipeline?

Thursday, despite all the time, money and media savvy the left could throw at it, the Dakota Access Pipeline began making oil deliveries to customers. From the Associated Press:

Dallas-based Energy Transfer Partners announced that the 1,200-mile line carrying North Dakota oil through South Dakota and Iowa to a distribution point in Illinois had begun commercial service. The Dakota Access pipeline and the Energy Transfer Crude Oil Pipeline from Illinois to the Gulf Coast together make up the $4.8 billion Bakken Pipeline system, which ETP said has commitments for about 520,000 barrels of oil daily.

“The pipeline will transport light, sweet crude oil from North Dakota to major refining markets in a more direct, cost-effective, safer and more environmentally responsible manner than other modes of transportation, including rail or truck,” the company said in a statement.

Remember there are many aspects to draining a swamp, here is another example that Team Trump has accomplished

Gaining, I’m sure, the gratitude of everyone, who’s had to sit through a diversity seminar the Trump administration plans to minimize civil rights efforts in agencies

The Trump administration is planning to disband the Labor Department division that has policed discrimination among federal contractors for four decades, according to the White House’s newly proposed budget, part of wider efforts to rein in government programs that promote civil rights.

As outlined in Labor’s fiscal 2018 plan, the move would fold the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, now home to 600 employees, into another government agency in the name of cost-cutting.

Please move them to Fargo, ND in the process.

The proposal to dismantle the compliance office comes at a time when the Trump administration is reducing the role of the federal government in fighting discrimination and protecting minorities by cutting budgets, dissolving programs and appointing officials unsympathetic to previous practices.

The new leadership at the Environmental Protection Agency, for instance, has proposed eliminating its environmental justice program, which addresses pollution that poses health threats specifically concentrated in minority communities. The program, in part, offers money and technical help to residents who are confronted with local hazards such as leaking oil tanks or emissions from chemical plants.Don’t get me going on “environmental justice”

Under President Trump’s proposed budget, the Education Department’s Office of Civil Rights — which has investigated thousands of complaints of discrimination in school districts across the country and set new standards for how colleges should respond to allegations of sexual assault and harassment — would also see significant staffing cuts. Administration officials acknowledge in budget documents that the civil rights office will have to scale back the number of investigations it conducts and limit travel to school districts to carry out its work.

Excellent! Despite what the Washington opines about these moves they are needed. This was never about protecting civil rights. These conclaves were about expanding Leftism and I say good riddance!

What the media misses about Trump’s Sweden statements

Sure, President Trump could have been clearer in referencing what is happening to Sweden. He needs to work on that. But, his words, though inartfully spoken, are based in truth. Tucker Carlson sets the record straight

take a look at what a police officer in Sweden posted about his country. As Jenn Jacques points out it validates Trumps words

A social media post from a Swedish police investigator is laying validation at the feet of the United State President.

Trump’s comments during a Florida campaign rally on Saturday – which some took as a misstatement about a supposed terror attack – dovetail with what Springare has been seeing during a typical week in Orebro, Sweden.

Speaking from Melbourne, FL. on Friday, the President stated:

“You look at what’s happening last night in Sweden, Sweden. Who would believe this? Sweden. They took in large numbers. They’re having problems like they never thought possible.”

Five rapes, three assaults, a pair of extortions, blackmail, an attempted murder, violence against police and a robbery made up Springare’s caseload for a five-day period earlier this month, according to a Feb. 3 Facebook post he wrote. The suspects were all from Muslim-majority countries – Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Somalia and Turkey – save for one Swedish man nabbed in a drug-related case.

In a Facebook post on February 3, 2016, police investigator Peter Springare shared his extreme displeasure with what has happened to his country after accepting hoards of Muslim immigrants:

You can go read his entire post at the link above

In short, the media is so busy trying to make the president look bad, and discredit him they are missing what price Sweden and the rest of Europe is paying for allowing massive immigration of people who do not share Western values. In other words, the media, again, is not investigating, reporting and informing. They are simply too busy attacking Trump to be what they are supposed to be, journalists.

Yeah, about that whole Mike Flynn hatchet job

He, apparently did, read this carefully Libs, nothing wrong! Can you say no there there?

NPR reported this morning that they are hearing from an intelligence official that the transcripts don’t show that Flynn did anything wrong, nor that he was acting under orders from Trump or someone else:

A current U.S. intelligence official tells NPR’s Mary Louise Kelly that there is no evidence of criminal wrongdoing in the transcripts of former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn’s conversations with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, although the official noted that doesn’t rule out the possibility of illegal actions.

The official also says that there are recordings as well as transcripts of the calls, and that the transcripts don’t suggest Flynn was acting under orders in his conversations.

The intelligence official who has personally seen the transcripts told Mary Louise they contained “no evidence” of criminal wrongdoing, although the official said it can’t be definitively ruled out.

The official also said there was “absolutely nothing” in the transcripts that suggests Flynn was acting under instructions “or that the trail leads higher.”

Dear Liberals, when even NPR destroys your narrative………………

The Six Things Donald Trump MUST Do As President

APPOINT AN ATTORNEY GENERAL WHO WILL PROSECUTE HILLARY CLINTON
Hillary Clinton represents everything that is wrong with the American political class. She epitomizes establishment corruption and wanton criminality, and to ignore her blatantly felonious behavior is to condone it.

REPEAL & REPLACE OBAMACARE
Of all the ruinous policies enacted by the previous administration, none is so egregious and universally despised as The Affordable Care Act. It must be eradicated like the cancer that it is and replaced with a free-market-based alternative as soon as humanly possible.

BUILD THE WALL
This is the primary reason why Donald Trump was elected president, make no mistake about it, and while its construction will not, in and of itself, put an end to illegal immigration, it will symbolize a seriousness of intent with respect to border security that has been sorely lacking in our government for decades.

APPOINT ORIGINALISTS TO THE FEDERAL JUDICIARY
When it comes to our nation’s highest courts, there are essentially two types of judges who oversee them, originalists and activists. Activistic judges believe that our Constitution is a “living, breathing” document that they are free to modify from the bench at any time and for any reason they concoct. As for originalist judges, I think Justice Antonin Scalia put it best when he said: “Our manner of interpreting the Constitution is to begin with the text, and to give that text the meaning that it bore when it was adopted by the people.”

SLASH TAXES ON BUSINESS & RENEGOTIATE INTERNATIONAL TRADE DEALS
Reinvigorating the U.S. economy cannot occur without radically reducing taxes on the companies which make up its foundation. Business taxes amount to taxes on all Americans – be they CEOs, employees, stockholders or consumers – and trillions of dollars have been lost to our economy over the years due to government’s insistence on inflicting punitive taxation upon our nation’s most productive citizens. Adding insult to injury, pro-globalist trade policies like NAFTA have served to accelerate the decline of America’s economic vitality, and any attempts to reverse the trends of the past few decades without addressing these key points will prove futile.

DRASTICALLY CUT GOVERNMENT SPENDING & REGULATION
Cutting government spending begins with downsizing the bureaucracies infesting it. This can be done through attrition, which simply means not hiring new federal employees to replace the ones who retire for an extended period of time. Beyond that, there are scores of agencies which should be eliminated entirely, like the departments of Agriculture, Commerce, Labor, Housing & Urban Development, and the EPA for starters. Furthermore, federal regulations have become so pervasive that reducing their number by 50 percent would still leave the Federal Register with nearly 100,000 pages of growth-killing rules. Yes, certain regulatory powers must be exercised in order to stop bad people from doing harm to the rest of us, but when nanny-state know-it-alls in Washington DC decide to start telling the rest of us how much water we can use to flush our toilets or what sort of bulbs we can screw into our light fixtures, they’ve engaged in the sort of conduct that our founding fathers would have taken up arms to oppose.

Gun Reforms Trump will tackle?

The election of Trump, and the GOp retaining the Senate, and House has given the GOP a new birth, if they seize it. There are many actions that need to be taken. And securing greater self-defense rights are among the most crucial. Bob Owens explains five important steps the new president and Congress can get done

Ending Gun-Free Zones On Military Bases

President Trump will have the authority to executive authority to pass an executive order allowing the United States military to carry firearms on duty. Our domestic military bases and facilities have been the site of numerous terror attacks and mass shootings. Trump can reverse that with the stroke of a pen. He would also apparently have the authority to end firearm bans on other federal property, but there are so many laws and regulations that I don’t want to make that claim prematurely.

National Concealed Carry Reciprocity

There is significant momentum towards establishing national concealed carry reciprocity in all 50 states. President Trump, working with a Republican-controlled House and Senate, should be able to get this passed into law within the first 90 days. There are four different bills to choose from in the House and Senate.

There three more, Owens addresses, including improving the NICS background checks, go read the whole thing. Let us all hope the GOP has learned that standing up to the Left, the media, and the GOP establishment pays off. Let us all hope they start acting as if they are ready to put that lesson into practice

Here’s How Tonight’s Presidential Forum Between Trump And Clinton Will Work – Daily Caller

Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton will participate in their first joint event as presidential candidates Wednesday night.

NBC News and MSNBC – along with the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America – will host the the Commander-in-Chief Forum in New York City. It will be a one-hour forum where Clinton and Trump will answer questions about national security, military affairs and veterans issues in front of an audience mainly made up of 300 or so members of the military.

Matt Lauer – who is listed as a “notable past member” on the Clinton Global Initiative’s website – is moderating the forum. During an interview on MSNBC Wednesday, Lauer said he will not ask Trump and Clinton the same questions.

“I’m not going to be repeating the same questions, though some will overlap,” Lauer said. “The veterans will get a chance to ask these candidates their own questions.”

Lauer said that when he takes questions from the audience, he expects most of them to revolve around the system-wide failure of the Veterans Affairs program.

“Lack of treatment – that’s where I think they will focus their questions.”

Clinton will be asked questions first for approximately 30 minutes, then Trump will go on stage next.
