Do Conservative Bloggers have to think of EVERYTHING?

Doug Powers, Austin’s brother, notes that the pro-gun rights arguments need to change to match the emotionalism in the anti-gun rights side. And he is right.

The Senate Judiciary Committee has been having hearings on gun control. On the pro gun control side, Gabby Giffords, victim of a crazed gunman, said “too many children are dying.” At a hearing in Connecticut, the father of a child murdered at Sandy Hook Elementary gave similar testimony (and gave some in the blinded-by-bias media a chance to show off their mad video editing skillz).

And on the pro Second Amendment side we most often hear testimony from Wayne LaPierre, somebody else from the NRA, or lawyers arguing on behalf of the Second Amendment. They make arguments on constitutional grounds and even speak about people whose lives are saved because they had guns — but where arethose people? Ask them to come forward at hearings and press conferences.

Let’s face it, the left usually kicks the right’s ass when it comes to emotional arguments that are designed to tug at the heart so aggressively that onlookers are too distracted to use their heads to think through what’s actually being presented to them (and that’s not necessarily a bad thing as we pride ourselves on being on the side of reason). However, emotional arguments can be constructed without selling out on the logic and common sense end of things, and that’s where the right needs to do a better job.

There certainly are no shortages of children (and adults) whose lives have been saved because of gun ownership. Almost every day there’s a story. Here’s one from just the day before yesterday:

A home invasion suspect was arrested at a hospital after a mother shot him during the crime at a Montgomery County home, deputies said Wednesday.

Erin, who asked to be identified only by her first name, told Local 2 she was putting her 6-year-old son to bed when she heard a loud noise coming from her bedroom on Mink Lake Drive Friday night.

“I threw the cover over my son and I took off running, screaming to the living room to let my dogs out,” she said.

Erin said she turned around and saw three masked men, pointing a gun right at her.

The woman had a gun — at least two actually — and it didn’t end well for one of the criminals. The other two fled, and the mother and her son were unharmed as a result.

Powers is right, we could find literally thousands of Americans whose lives have been saved because  they, or a friend, parent or neighbor was armed. Does this not seem the perfect way to fight back against the Left’s Emotionally based testimonies? Of course it does, because it is. So why has the leadership of the NRA, or Republican Congressmen not thought of it? Or maybe I should ask, why have they chosen NOT to go that direction since surely it has been suggested to them. I mean honestly, this is one of the biggest issues the Right faces. Too often the best arguments, ideas, etc come from people like Doug Powers, and other Conservative bloggers. Are we just that much smarter than our “leaders”? Or are we more intent on fighting? Do they fear unvarnished Conservatism?  What are they thinking? Seems too often they are thinking about not losing, rather than about winning.

FINALLY! Obama calls for tougher enforcement of border laws!!!

Oh, wait, I read that headline wrong, go figure!

WASHINGTON (AP) – Two months after the shooting of a U.S. congresswoman, President Barack Obama called Sunday for more stringent enforcement of existing gun laws, citing the “awful consequences” of gun violence in American society. In an op-ed essay in The Arizona Daily Star, Obama says legislation to bolster criminal background checks for gun buyers hasn’t been properly implemented, with too many states providing “incomplete and inadequate” information.

He suggested rewarding states that provide the most comprehensive information to the criminal background database.

“We should make the system faster and nimbler,” the president added. “We should provide an instant, accurate, comprehensive and consistent system for background checks to sellers who want to do the right thing, and make sure that criminals can’t escape it.”

Interesting that the Arizona shooter was never ruled mentally ill by a judge and was never committed to an institution. So, how would, these “instant, accurate, comprehensive and consistent system for background checks” have helped prevent the Arizona shootings exactly?

Another gigantic waste of time from the minds of Liberals!

The National Institute for Civil Discourse? Good freaking grief!

The National Institute for Civil Discourse opened yesterday at the University of Arizona. The institute is described as such:

a nonpartisan center for debate, research, education and policy about civility in public discourse.

Read more at the link if you like, but frankly, why waste the time?

How to handle an obnoxious, whiny, petulant Democrat

You just ignore them

At that point, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz interjected with a parliamentary inquiry, and was eventually recognized once Graves was finished speaking.

“In two previous gentlemen’s statements on the amendment, both of them referred to the Affordable Care Act, which is the accurate title of the health care reform law, as ‘ObamaCare,’” Wasserman Schultz said. “That is a disparaging reference to the President of the United States. It is meant as a disparaging reference to the President of the United States. It is clearly in violation of the House rules.”

Her argument did not go anywhere, and Republicans continued their references to ObamaCare.

Well played!

Yet one more reason to love Allen West!

He irritates the sensitivities of the Congressional Black Caucus Via Bluegrass Pundit

(The Hill) Still, some are “leery” of West, according to a CBC member who requested anonymity.

West raised some eyebrows in a CBC meeting soon after the assassination attempt of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.).

After members expressed concern for their safety, West, a two-decade plus Army veteran, said members should consider carrying a concealed weapon.

In an interview with The Hill this week, West said, “They were talking about getting detailed security and I said, ‘Well you just look in your state as far as getting a concealed weapons licensing,’ which is something that I have. I think personal protection starts with yourself, but you just coordinate with local law enforcement to make sure you have collateral security at your events.”

CBC member Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-Ill.) said West’s suggestion didn’t go over well, adding it was “frowned” on by other lawmakers.

Man how I wish I had been there to see their faces! I would have cherished that memory forever!

Why am I smelling something rotten here? UPDATED!!

There is something that just does not set right with me about this story. It seems a bit too tidy and perfect for leftist talking points.

One of the wounded in the Tucson, Ariz., shooting that left Rep. Gabrielle Giffords critically injured is blaming Sarah Palin, House Speaker John Boehner, Fox TV host Glenn Beck and former Nevada GOP Senate candidate Sharron Angle for the tragedy.

“It looks like Palin, Beck, Sharron Angle and the rest got their first target,” Eric Fuller said in an interview with Democracy NOW.

“Their wish for Second Amendment activism has been fulfilled — senseless hatred leading to murder, lunatic fringe anarchism, subscribed to by John Boehner, mainstream rebels with vengeance for all — even 9-year-old girls,” he added, referring to the death of Christina Taylor Green.

Fuller, a 63-year-old veteran, had campaigned for Giffords during her reelection and was at the supermarket for her Congress on Your Corner event.

“I would put Sarah Palin in first place there. I think, really, she should be incarcerated for treason for advocating assassinating public officials,” Fuller said in an interview with Media Matters. “That map I saw that she published on the Internet had crosshairs on it and one of them was meant for Gabrielle Giffords.”

Yes, there it is, part of it anyway. Democracy Now, is a Left wing group that has about as much credibility as, well your standard Neo-Marxist group has, which is none. There is something else that REALLY does not sound right though. Earlier this week, this same man pointed not one finger, but called the shooter a madman.

Earlier this week, in an interview with CBS News, Fuller didn’t go as far as to point fingers. Instead, he called the accused shooter, Jared Loughner, a “madman.”

So, why did his tune so drastically change? You might expect the more emotional response to come sooner, rather than later. So, with absolutely nothing leading any reasonable person to connect anyone on the Right to this, why did he change his view? And look, if there is a more “perfect” guy for the Leftists to get to accuse Palin of being complicit I cannot imagine who that might be. This guy is veteran, and was wounded, so he has not one but two absolute moral authority cards to play doesn’t he?

He seems to be a true believer in far Left theology I would say, consider this from the NY Times

Mr. Fuller, the limousine driver, also supported Ms. Giffords but he went to see her for different reasons.

He became interested in politics only recently, and fell hard for liberal causes. He sends e-mail blasts denouncing “Replundercans.”

On Saturday, he stopped by Ms. Giffords’s event after his weekly tennis game expecting to see protesters, whom he had seen at previous Giffords events.

“I wanted to give her a boost and to protect her from the Tea Party crime syndicate and to shout them down,” he said. “I can make a lot of noise.”

There were no protesters, but he got into a heated argument with another person waiting to meet Ms. Giffords. An aide to Ms. Giffords, Gabriel Zimmerman, quickly stepped in to break them up. Mr. Zimmerman was killed in the shootings.

Well he seems to have a record as a far Leftist as his page at Hypnothoughts indicates

UPDATED! It seems that Mr. Fuller may indeed have issues with anger, odd how that is a fairly common trait among the “tolerant Left”

That’s where the atmosphere turned tense.   When Tucson Tea Party founder Trent Humphries rose to suggest that any conversation about gun control should be put off until after the funerals for all the victims, witnesses say Fuller became agitated.  Two told KGUN9 News that finally, Fuller took a picture of Humphries, and said, “You’re dead.”

When State Rep. Terri Proud (R-Tucson) rose to explain and clarify current and proposed gun legislation in the state, several people groaned or booed her.  One of those booing, according to several witnesses, was Fuller.   Witnesses sitting near Fuller told KGUN9 News that Fuller was making them feel very uncomfortable.

The event wrapped up a short time later.  Deputies then escorted Fuller from the room.  As he was being led off, Fuller shouted loudly to the room at large.  Several witnesses said that what they thought they heard him shout was, “You’re all whores!”

Fuller, age 63, is a political operative who specializes in gathering petitions for ballot initiatives.   Before the program began, he passed out business cards to people sitting around him that read:

If “anti-government rhetoric” leads to violence…………

Then can we EXPECT Sheriff Dupnik to take the blame if any Conservatives are attacked? certainly blaming Conservatives for the Arizona shootings is a very serious charge isn’t it?  Might that not, at least if we apply Dupnik’s warped logic, lead to attacks on Tea Party members? Or Sarah palin, or, Rush Limbaugh? Oh wait, it might have already done so.

After blaming the tea party for the mass slaughter on Saturday one tea party leader is receiving death threats. The sheriff’s office told Tucson tea party leader Trent Humphries to stay home. The Tuscon Tea Party leader started receiving death threats since the shootings at the Safeway on Saturday.
Talking Points Memo reported, via Free Republic:

Trent Humphries, the leader of the largest tea party group in this mourning southern Arizona city, has nothing but praise for the way President Obama has led the nation through the aftermath of Saturday’s mass shooting at a constituent event for Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ). But Humphries won’t be there tonight when Obama speaks at a memorial rally intended to unify Tucson after six people were killed in the tragedy.

Humphries says he’s been getting threats at his home from people who seem to hold him and his organization partially responsible for the shootings Saturday.

Humphries told TPM he’s called the Sheriff’s department more than once in the past few days to make them aware of threatening phone calls.

“We got a not-so-veiled threat,” Humprhies told me. “The Sheriff’s deputies told me to stay away from public places.”

Now, I do not blame the sheriffs words, no matter how baseless and stupid they are, for these threats. The threats are from losers, who have little minds full of lots of hatred. BUT, Sheriff, IF you are going to apply blame for the shootings in Arizona, then maybe YOU ought to be consistent? Just sayin……….

Or maybe the sheriff is trying to shift blame because he failed to do his job?

The Arizona Republic reports:

Sheriff’s Department and community-college officials in Pima County are refusing to release a wide range of public documents about the man charged in Saturday’s shooting rampage that left six dead and more than a dozen wounded.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department and Pima Community College have declined to release documents that could shed light on run-ins they had with 22-year-old Jared Loughner in the months prior to the shooting. . . .
The school officials assertion that an FBI inquiry prevents them from releasing this information is transparently invalid.

The school official’s assertion that an FBI inquiry prevents them from releasing this information is transparently invalid. And if the FBI has indeed asked officials to suppress the information, this is absolutely unacceptable.

Six people are dead, among them a federal judge and a 9-year-old girl, while a U.S. Congresswoman and 11 other people are grievously injured. There can be no “privilege” to shield government officials from scrutiny for their apparent mishandling of previous criminal behavior by the suspect in this case, given that protecting the lives of its citizens is the first duty of government.

Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik has not merely failed at that duty but, in attempting to shift the blame to others, has disgraced his office, covered his department in shame, and embarrassed his community. Michelle Malkin is rightfully indignant at the ongoing farce of The Worst Sheriff in America:

Despite continued revelations from Loughner’s friends about his nihilist, Nietzschean nuttiness, Sheriff Dupnik is clinging to his Climate of Hate blame game embarrassing his fellow lawmen, Arizona’s largest newspaper, and the rest of decent America with every new baseless utterance aimed at suppressing conservatives’ political free speech.

Much more at the link, and also consider that the sheriff has, in the past allowed his political leanings to cause him to, shall we say NOT ENFORCE LAWS!

Is it any wonder he blames Teabaggerzz/FOX/Palin/Beck/Limbaugh/Right Wing etc for Jared Loughner’s murderous rampage?

5/01/10.... “We are not immigration officials,” Dupnick vowed Thursday. “We fight crime. The state put us in this position.”[…] Dupnick said he never joined the contentious debate over the controversial bill because he didn’t expect Gov. Jan Brewer or state legislators to approve it.

“This law, it’s just irresponsible,” he said. “It makes them [legislators] look like racists.

Well, well, well. it seem s Dupnik has so9me explaining to do doesn’t it?

It is official! EVERYTHING Sarah Palin says “incites violence”

The Left is obsessed with Palin, EVERYTHING this woman says, apparently, is now an incitement of violence. take this example from Yid With Lid. It seems that the latest “violent rhetoric from Palin is the term Blood Libel. Palin recorded a video expressing her sorrow over the Arizona shootings, and the Left, is going nuts

But, especially within hours of a tragedy unfolding, journalists and pundits should not manufacture a blood libel that serves only to incite the very hatred and violence they purport to condemn. That is reprehensible.

For example Ruth Marcus at the Washington Post said:

Blood libel is a term with a specific and terrible history. It refers to the scurrilous accusation that Jews kidnapped and murdered Christian children to use their blood to prepare Passover matzoh. Charges of blood libel have spurred massacres of Jews throughout the centuries; the myth was revived by Hitler and persists today from Russia to the Arab world.

Using the phrase “blood libel” is akin to making a Holocaust analogy: It is almost always a bad idea. Very little compares to the murder of thousands or millions of Jews simply because of their religion.

Howard Kurtz at his new gig at the Daily Beast added:

Blood libel, for those who are not familiar, describes a false accusation that minorities—usually Jews—murder children to use their blood in religious rituals, and has been a historical theme in the persecution of the Jewish people. Had Palin scoured a thesaurus, she could not have come up with a more inflammatory phrase.

Throughout the liberal world accusations began to spring up suggesting that Palin’s use of the phrase blood libel was some how an affront to the Jewish people.

As a Jew who has studied and often writes about Jewish issues, the Holocaust and Antisemitism in general allow me for a second to comment on the claims of those progressive commentators.  Horse Crap!

Again, the Left has their new fear and smear campaign in high gear don’t they? Trying to convince us that all Right Wing rhetoric is not political speech, no, it is, instead, violent rhetoric, that must be “toned down” lest those crazy Conservatives pick up weapons and go on killing sprees. This strategy also sees, naturally to intimidate Republicans into shutting up, or afraid to speak up for what they believe. I say to all Americans, DO NOT BUY what the Liberals are selling.

Folks, the Left jumped all over the Arizona killings, accusing Glenn Beck, Palin, Rush, etc. of “inciting violence” and causing that barbaric act. Even though the killer was certainly not a conservative, the Left, including their media lap dogs, are still pushing that sack of manure, and they always will. First they said that the vitriol of the Tea Party, and Palin, and Beck, caused this. Then, when that dog did not hunt, they changed their charge. Now it is “violent rhetoric” and anti-government vitriol that caused it. See even when the Left is proven dead wrong, they change their tune and insist that they are still right! Again, DO NOT FALL FOR THIS!

Your Marxist Moron of the Day is……………..

Hillary Clinton, who, apparently enjoys kissing the asses of the “international community”, and apologizing for America, and of course, playing the moral equivalency game!

It really pisses me off when Americans go overseas and commiserate with the locals, voluntarily dragging down this country in a vain attempt to ingratiate themselves with people from a dysfunctional society.  It’s bad enough when Ditzy Chix do it, but when a government official engages in such behavior it is particularly detestable.
Democrats in general, and Clintons in particular are especially adept.  Here’s a quote from Secretary of State Hillary Clinton while visiting the Arabian peninsula, that world-renowned seat of religious tolerance and cultural understanding …

“We have extremists in my country. A wonderful, incredibly brave young woman Congress member, Congresswoman Giffords, was just shot by an extremist in our country,” she added.

“We have the same kinds of problems. So rather than standing off from each other, we should work to try to prevent the extremists anywhere from being able to commit violence.” (Reuters)
SilverFiddle pours it on

We do not punish women accused of adultery by burying them from the torso down and throwing rocks at their heads until they die.  We do not kill daughters for looking at a boy.  We do not collapse walls on homosexuals.  We do not blow up each others’ houses of worship and slaughter people leaving them.
Clinton’s statement is a prime example of the mushy moral equivalency and intellectual flabbiness that now grips this nation.
Western civilization has advanced mankind to the 21st century and enjoys a level of equality for all that is unprecedented in the history of the world.  Much of the muslim world remains mired in 7th century religious bigotry, misogyny and obscurantism, witnessed by the paucity of scholarly output and the copious amount of violence spilling out of that cauldron of hatred and ignorance.
More stupidity from our Secretary of State…
“The extremists and their voices, the crazy voices that sometimes get on the TV, that’s not who we are, that’s not who you are, and what we have to do is get through that and make it clear that that doesn’t represent either American or Arab ideas or opinions,”
Again, BS!  There is no equivalency.

Oh Lord help this sincerely stupid woman!

The idiot, I refer to is Rep. Chellie Pingree, who writes this at the Huffington Post!

As I write this, the motivation behind the shooting of my friend Gabby Giffords and eleven others isn’t clear. We don’t know what prompted the shooter to show up at Gabby’s Congress on Your Corner at a Tucson grocery store with a semiautomatic pistol and the motivation to kill innocent people. We don’t know if it was unmitigated hatred and misdirected rage or paranoid delusion. We don’t know if was politics — aimed at Gabby’s courageous stands on health care and immigration. I suspect in the end, we’ll learn it was a combination of factors that led this young man to go on the rampage that shook the nation.

In a way, though, it doesn’t really matter what prompted this act of senseless violence. What really matters is that we do everything we can to prevent it from happening again. And the first thing we can do is to crank down the rhetoric a few notches.

I work in a world of words — words that inspire, words that persuade and, increasingly, words that can send the message that it is acceptable to hate. All of us — no matter our party affiliation or political persuasion — must accept this fact and take responsibility for the environment these words help create.

No one should think that one side or the other of the political spectrum is without blame. Whether it’s a conservative politician publishing a map with a bullseye on Gabby’s district or a liberal blogger saying Gabby is “dead to me,” too many have forgotten what it means to be able to disagree without being disagreeable.

A good place to start a more civil dialog would be for my Republican colleagues in the House to change the name of the bill they have introduced to repeal health care reform. The bill, titled the “Repeal the Job Killing Health Care Law Act,” was set to come up for a vote this week, but in the wake of Gabby’s shooting, it has been postponed at least until next week.

Oh dear, is this woman serious? Is she suffering from another, as yet undiagnosed Liberal Malady? Hypersensitivitis perhaps?? If she wishes to say that rhetoric needs “toning down” then perhaps she should start by talking to many of her fellow democrats!

The fact is that,  wants the Right to hush up, and roll over and allow Liberals to have their way. In Pingree’s mind, dissent is thPjngreee very highest form of patriotism, UNLESS, of course, it comes from the right. Then, it is violent vitriol and completely un-American, dangerous, and incites violence, and likely leads to ingrown toenails as well.

Your quote of the day

From Stacy McCain comes this nugget of blogging greatness

Damn it, when are you ignorant people going to wake up and recognize the moral superiority of your liberal overlords?

Nearly six in 10 Americans say the country’s heated political rhetoric is not to blame for the Tucson shooting rampage that left six dead and critically wounded U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, according to a CBS News poll. . . .
Overall, 57 percent of respondents said the harsh political tone had nothing to do with the shooting, compared to 32 percent who felt it did. Republicans were more likely to feel the two were unrelated – 69 percent said rhetoric was not to blame . . .

Isn’t it about time that 57% of you admit you have blood on your hands? Don’t you realize how much more enlightened and tolerant those 32% are? How are we ever going to “tone down the rhetoric” is you refuse to admit that Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh were responsible for this atrocity?

Once again, proof that most Americans just do not get Liberals. And Liberals, well, they just do not get anything!

Stacy McCain: Mission Accomplished indeed asshat!

McCain sees the Left as I do. Desperate to silence the Right at any cost. Will they pimp a nine-year-old child’s death? Sure! Will they falsely accuse anyone on the right of complicity, in the act of a deranged gunman? Sure! Will they paint everyone on the right as a fomenter of hate? Sure! Will they accuse us of inciting violence with our vitriol? Sure! Fact is they would likely throw a bag of kittens off a cliff if it meant silencing dissent against their “enlightened, utopian thinking”. And as McCain points out it is actually those on the Left who are the haters, the intolerant, the insensitive, and the bigoted. As McCain points out to Markos Moulitsas, you cannot UN-TWEET JACKWAGON!

You can’t un-Tweet it, you see. Before the suspect had been identified, before his motive was known, you blamed Sarah Palin for an atrocious crime of which she was utterly innocent. The facts of your cruel defamation are chronicled precisely by Professor Willliam Jacobson:

As far as I can tell, Matthew Yglesias of Think Progress was the first person to spread the so-called Palin target map at 1:45 p.m.  The now infamous Markos Moulistas “mission accomplished, Sarah Palin” tweet did not take place until 2:19 p.m. Yglesias’ tweet was retweeted a total of 271 times and the image of the map he posted 883 times as of this writing. . . .
The massacre had been hijacked for political purposes not based on facts, but on a desire for retribution against Palin specifically, and the Tea Parties and conservatives in general.  A point I have made time and again, is that there was and is no evidence that the shooter ever saw the Palin map.
The Palin connection was a complete fabrication created in the minds of Messrs. Yglesias, Moulitsas, and countless others with an axe to grind.

Now infamous,” what a lovely phrase! The stain of your disgrace could not be darker, Markos, for what can be more heinous than to bear false witness — yea, even blood libel! — against the innocent? Yet you dare not admit error. You cannot explain or excuse your mistake. You cannot confess and beg forgiveness, for to do so would utterly discredit you in the eyes of that legion of fools you have led astray.

You have taught them to hate her. You have encouraged their contempt and incited their loathing of her, so that nothing — no slur so vile, nor any lie however false – could ever merit an apology to that demonized scapegoat, Sarah Palin.

Of course, Palin is not the only “target” in your cross hairs is she Markos? There is Michelle Malkin, and every Conservative blogger out there, every anchor on Fox News, every Conservative talk host or columnist. They are all victims of your vicious vitriol aren’t they Markos? How does it feel, i must ask Markos? How does it feel to exploit a beautiful child’s death? How does it feel to bring even more grief and pain to her parents? Did you even consider that question before you rushed to slander your political enemies Markos? I suppose not. I imagine all your hate-filled mind could see was an opportunity to smear those who, DARE to differ from your “inclusive, tolerant ideology. In you lust for score political points you exploited a tragedy that has devastated so many. And, do you care Markos? Or is your soul so tainted and your mind so poisoned, that you do not even consider the pain you inflict?

Never mind that you have, without ANY evidence, accused innocent people of violence. Never mind that you have, again WITHOUT A SINGLE SHRED OF ANY PROOF, accused those whose only crime is disagreeing with you, of being haters and racists, and sexists, and violent, dangerous people. Never mind all of that Markos, because in your demented mind, things like facts, and honesty, and integrity are meaningless aren’t they? Every means possible justifies your means I suppose. What a pathetic existence you must lead. Taking orgasmic joy in exploiting tragedy, and in lying about anyone who dares to hold diverse views.

If the Left REALLY hates violent rhetoric so much………..

………..then they ought to clean THEIR house first shouldn’t they?

H/T Bluegrass Pundit

(Washington Examiner)– While Paul Krugman and other liberal commentators continue to exploit this weekend’s tragedy by making hay out of supposedly extreme rhetoric on the right, perhaps they would do well to examine some of the rhetoric that has come from the left. On October 23, The Scranton Times reported that Rep. Paul Kanjorski, D-Pa., said this about Florida’s new Republican Governor Rick Scott:

“That Scott down there that’s running for governor of Florida,” Mr. Kanjorski said. “Instead of running for governor of Florida, they ought to have him and shoot him. Put him against the wall and shoot him. He stole billions of dollars from the United States government and he’s running for governor of Florida. He’s a millionaire and a billionaire. He’s no hero. He’s a damn crook. It’s just we don’t prosecute big crooks.”

Dangerous rhetoric you say? Hmmmm

“If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun.”
— Barack Obama

“Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords is dead to me now.”
— Daily Kos Kook “BoyBlue”

“Those aren’t the kinds of folks who represent our core American values.”
— Barack Obama

‘We’re going to punish our enemies and we’re gonna reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us’
— Barack Obama

I mean if the Left REALLY is troubled by “vitriol” they really need to look at themselves

The progressive “climate of hate:” An illustrated primer, 2000-2010

By Michelle Malkin  •  January 10, 2011 03:19 AM

The Tucson massacre ghouls who are now trying to criminalize conservatism have forced our hand.

They need to be reminded. You need to be reminded.

Confront them. Don’t be cowed into silence.

And don’t let the media whitewash the sins of the hypocritical Left in their naked attempt to suppress the law-abiding, constitutionally-protected, peaceful, vigorous political speech of the Right.

They want to play tu quo que in the middle of a nationaltragedy? They asked for it. They got it.

The progressive climate of hate: A comprehensive illustrated primer in 8 parts:

V. LEFT-WING MOB HATE — campus, anti-war radicals, ACORN, eco-extremists, & unions
VIII. HATE: CRIMES — the ever-growing Unhinged Mugshot Collection

Flashback — pointing a fake gun at the head of a Sarah Palin likeness sitting next to a cardboard cutout of her daughter in a museum display:

Getty has since yanked the photo, but as one commenter who saw the photo at Getty’s site before it was yanked noted: “To see that image presented as if it were completely normal and purchasable was shocking.”

Flashback — trendy “ABORT Sarah Palin” stickers:

Flashback — Palin-hating artwork designating her an “M.I.L.P.” (Mother I’d Like to Punch). Hat tip: Edge of Forever:

Flashback — Palin Derangement Syndrome mobsters in Philly: “Let’s stone her, old school”

If cross hairs and “targeting” upset them so much, well then, perhaps the Left ought not to engage in such behavior?

If the Left really believes that criticizing your political opponents leads to violence, then maybe they should STOP saying outrageous things?

I mean, folks, if the Left is serious abo0ut believing that rhetoric leads to violence, then shouldn’t they be looking in the proverbial mirror?

Daily Benefactor News – Democrat Group Using Gifford’s Shooting For Fundraiser

————————————————————- TOP STORY ————————————————————-

Democrat Group Using Gifford’s Shooting For Fundraiser – Big Government

An extreme, left-wing Democrat group calling itself 21st Century Democrats has had the gall to send out an email blast using as a fundraising tool Saturday’s criminal shooting of Representative Gabrielle Giffords in Arizona. Judge John Roll and four others were killed in the incident, one of them a 9-year-old girl, but these Democrats are ignorant enough to be using this incident to try and squeeze donations from its supporters. Some might think the action of 21st Century Democrats is itself a crime – a crime against decency.

The email blast sent out Sunday morning to its supporters tells members that “we don’t know yet” why Jared Loughner shot Gabrielle Giffords but goes on to lay the blame on Sarah Palin and Gifford’s opponent in the past election for using “violent imagery” in his campaign.

The email goes on to ask members to “join us in sharing your thoughts and prayers to the Congresswoman and her family by visiting our website where we have set up a page for you to do so.” Naturally once you click on the link you are taken to a page that prominently displays the group’s DONATE NOW button. It is not in the slightest way discreetly designed. As soon as you go to this so-called prayers page you see a large button asking for donations and another one underneath it urging visitors to “sign up” for email blasts and information.

Disgustingly, 21st Century Democrats is using this crime in a fundraising effort.

Gauche is hardly a strong enough word to describe this action.

21st Century Democrats is no unheard of fringe group, either. Styling itself as one that is “building a progressive majority from the grassroots up,” it is interesting to note that some major top-down players in the Democrat Party founded the group. The group was created in 1986 by Senator Tom Harkin, a powerful Democrat from Iowa, and was co-founded by left-wing pundit Jim Hightower and former Illinois Congressman Lane Evans. These folks are hardly “grassroots” sort of folks.

Worse, even as this email blast accuses Sarah Palin and former candidate Jesse Kelly for using “violent imagery” and for “targeting” Giffords, this group is associated directly with The Daily Kos run by Markos Moulitsas who used precisely that same sort of “targeting” rhetoric last year during the campaign for the midterm elections.

In 2009 21st Century Democrats joined the Service Employees International Union, The Daily Kos and others in a new political action committee (PAC) called Accountability Now PAC.

Will 21st Century Democrats quit this PAC now that it has become aware that Markos Moulitsas used the same “violent imagery” and “targeting” rhetoric against Gabrielle Giffords? Will this purported “grassroots” groups founded by powerful members of Congress avoid charges of hypocrisy and stand on its supposed principle?

I’ll bet you’ll know the answer to that already.
