I wish McCain would go after Democrats like he does actual Conservatives Via The Right Scoop
In his big CPAC speech, Ted Cruz said the following:
You want to lose elections? Stand for nothing. Look at the last four congressional elections, in ’06, ’08, ’10′, and ’12. In 3 of the four we followed that strategy. In ‘06, ‘08 and ‘12, we put our head down, we stood for nothing and we got walloped.
The one election that was a tremendous election was 2010, when Republicans drew a line in the sand. We said we stand unequivocally against Obamacare, against bankrupting the country, and we won an historic tidal wave of an election.
And of course then all of us remember President Dole, and President McCain, and President Romney. Now look those are good men, those are decent men — but when you don’t stand and draw a clear distinction, when you don’t stand for principle, Democrats celebrate.
McCain went on MSNBC today and said that Ted Cruz crossed a line and should apologize to Bob Dole:
He can say what he wants to about me, and he can say anything he wants to, I think, about Mitt – Mitt’s capable of taking it. But when he throws Bob Dole in there, I wonder if he thinks that Bob Dole stood for principle on that hilltop in Italy when he was so gravely wounded and left part of his body there fighting for our country?
This is why I said McCain sounds like a slimy Democrat because this is exactly what slimy Democrats do. McCain goes on MSNBC to attack Cruz and suggest that he doesn’t respect the military sacrifice that Dole gave for this country. How dare he!
Again, Senator McCain, please shut up.

It’s been debated for five years, and the conventional wisdom has generally concluded that Sarah Palin, the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee, hurt Sen. John McCain’s chances to beat then-Sen. Barack Obama for the presidency with her outsized and controversial personality.
But now a comprehensive new analysis of the so-called “Palin Effect” finds that in the final analysis, the former Alaska governor helped McCain by attracting more voters to the ticket, crushing a mainstream media view.
What’s more, while she attracted wider press attention than most prior veep candidates, her actual impact for a No. 2 was about average.
“Palin had a positive effect on McCain,” according to the new Palin analysis in the authoritative Political Research Quarterly.
Digesting mountains of data, two political science professors from Bradley University in Peoria, Ill., said their findings showed that the conventional wisdom that independent voters ran from the McCain-Palin ticket was wrong. They found that independent voters had the same reaction to Palin as Republicans, who largely liked her.
Both findings could provide a basis for a 2016 run for the presidency by the Tea Party favorite.
“Palin did not have a negative effect on McCain’s voter share overall, nor did she result in eroded support for McCain among critical swing voters such as independents and moderates,” the duo wrote.
Their analysis picked apart a recent report that Palin drove off voters and was uniquely divisive, claiming it was flawed.
Instead, it found that Palin “did not have a unique or unprecedented influence on the race; at best, she had precisely the same small effect on vote choice in 2008 that we would expect of any running mate.”
Do Liberals ever tire of bashing the South? Of course not, after all, the South IS the most Conservative part of the country, and the most patriotic. And the Left will never forgive the South for taking a stand against a power hungry federal government. McCain has the scoop
[T]he South is once again committed to taking a backward path. By refusing to expand health care for the working poor through Medicaid, which is paid for by the federal government under Obamacare, most of the old Confederacy is committed to keeping millions of its own fellow citizens in poverty and poor health. They are dooming themselves, further, as the Left-Behind States.
Just another historical illiterate who thinks Washington has a grove of money trees or something. McCain eviscerates this tool
Do you believe this? “Free” money from the federal government? Medicaid as a job-creation dynamo? While I have not bothered to dig down on the data here, the basic economics of it is like saying that if you take $5 out of your pants pocket and put it in your coat pocket, you will then have $10. Government has no money of its own to spend. Every cent expended by government must come either from tax revenue or from borrowing, and borrowing — i.e., deficit spending — is ultimately a drag on economic growth, because capital invested in government bonds (which is how deficit spending is financed) is capital not invested in private-sector businesses.
The liberal belief in “free government money” is like one of those quasi-religious magical thinking exercises that Ace discusses here.
To cite X-number of people signing up for “expanded Medicaid” as “success” is simply to say that if you’re giving away the taxpayers’ money, moochers will gladly take their share of the loot.
Is the South doomed to be the “Left-Behind States”? Next time you hear of someone moving from Texas to Detroit, let me know.
Via The Other McCain who notes that Alec’s temper tantrums are too much for even MSNBS
Evil Blogger Lady calls attention to the shocking news — shocking! — that the network suits aren’t eager for a return to Baldwinism:
Alec Baldwin is not welcome back at MSNBC because of his infamous angry behavior, network insiders say — including complaining that “the air at 30 Rock is too dry.”
Sources exclusively tell us that MSNBC chiefs are not exactly falling over themselves to get boisterous Baldwin back in the building. One insider said, “He would only show up at work an hour a week to prep for the show, and when he did turn up, he was in an angry mood, red-faced, and shouting at all the staff. And he said the air at 30 Rock was too dry, it was bad for his voice, he needed a humidifier.” .
Poor, poor Alec, it is so sad that not everyone understands how entitled he is.
And by suck, I mean sucks in a sucktacular fashion! Matt has more
Imagine that a five year old is surviving Leukemia, and has had this fatal disease since they were a toddler. Now, also imagine that Make-A-Wish arranged to make the little guy Batman for the day, and get him some recognition. Sounds like a wonderful story, doesn’t it? Well, not to some liberals, who thought it was terribly unfair! Stacy McCain has some more…
Here is the Tweet from a Racially Obsessed Moonbat and Matt’s response, which is dead on target!
I’ve said before that liberals have a rather narrowly defined world view. Thanks to critical theory, AKA, Political Correctness, AKA, Cultural Marxism, liberals subsist on a victim narrative. In their little world, someone is always exploiting or abusing someone else, and even good news is bad news, because someone’s good news created bad news for someone else. So, this little kid got to be Batman, but to make that happen, some little dark skinned kid must have been deprived of something. I know, it’s asinine, but liberals always look stupid when they try and shove any possible story into their victim narrative. But that won’t keep them from trying.
This also qualifies my belief that Liberalism is an ideology for the pessimistic folks in society. Think about it, is there any group that loves them some pity parties more than Liberals?
