NFL Playoffs- Texans nip Bengals, Pack rolls over Vikings

The Houston Texans barely escaped at home Saturday, eeking out a 19-13 win. Bengals QB Andy Dalton just missed a TD connection with wideout A.J. Green late in the game that would have given Cincy the lead.

J.J. Watt swatted away passes, Arian Foster ran away from tacklers and theHouston Texans did just enough to knock Cincinnati out of the playoffs for the second straight year.

Matt Schaub made his first postseason start a successful one when Foster’s 1-yard touchdown in the third quarter helped the Texans to a 19-13 AFC wild-card win over the Bengals on Saturday.

“The whole stadium knew we had to line up and run the ball and boy, he was at his best there at the end,” coach Gary Kubiak said. “He’s become a fine, fine player, and it just seems like the bigger it gets, the better Arian gets.”

Now comes the big test.

The Texans (13-4) move on to the second round on Jan. 13, when they visit the New England Patriots, who beat them 42-14 in Week 14. This time they’re 9 1/2-point underdogs.

Houston will be lucky if they do not get blown out against the Pats.

Green Bay smacks down Vikes, will meet Niners next weekend

Deep on offense and scary-good on defense, the Green Bay Packerswere way too much for the Minnesota Vikings.

Maybe everyone else in the NFC, too.

Aaron RodgersCharles Woodson and the Packers reminded everyone of how dangerous they can be when they’re at full strength Saturday night, overwhelming the Vikings 24-10 in an NFC wild-card game that was never really close.

“Our defense played great,” Rodgers said. “Our defense tonight played at a championship level and that’s what you need in the playoffs.”

The Pack/Niners should be an awesome game, very close and high scoring.

Walker wins, the Union thugs, ED Schultz hardest hit!

HEARTACHE! Much more at Evil Blogger Lady, who seems pretty nice, for an evil lady

From JWF this video of Schultz and Maddow is odd. Schultz whines about the money advantage the evil GOP has. Guess Schultz never considers all that UNION money, and the millions spent forcing this recall debacle.

Lawrence O’Donnell, the smugster himself took the defeat as proof that Obama won last night? I like the on talking Obmabot who is ad that the “outside money” beat the grass-roots recall effort. Guess he is forgetting all the outsiders the Democrats bused in? Ed covered that yesterday

Oh, and before I forget… to all you Green Bay Packers fans out there, don’t forget that it was Democrats who bused Minnesota Vikings andDetroit Lions fans into Wisconsin to vote in YOUR recall election.

Then there is this failed prediction from the man who Stacy McCain once referred to as a “Fat, Bloated, Beady-Eyed Jerkoff’, Charles Johnson, who used to be somebody, was just sure that Walker would lose

Steeler Running Back Mendenhall and his bin Laden Tweets

Pittsburgh Steelers #34 Rashard Mendenhall 201...

Oh boy, this guy is a talented back, but not too bright it would seem

Rashard Mendenhallhas created a stir with comments made on his official Twitter page regarding Osama bin Laden’s death.

The Pittsburgh Steelers running back on Monday tweeted: “What kind of person celebrates death? It’s amazing how people can HATE a man they have never even heard speak. We’ve only heard one side…”

Wow! Is Mendenhall, actually saying we should not be celebrating the death of a vile, murderous terrorist? And Rashard we HAVE heard bib Laden speak, and seen his actions too. He was an evil monster and mass murderer!

Mendenhall didn’t hold back, even making a reference to the Sept. 11 attacks.

“We’ll never know what really happened. I just have a hard time believing a plane could take a skyscraper down demolition style.”

Oh, and he is a TRUTHER too! Somehow this does not shock me at all

The Steelers felt compelled to act. On Tuesday, team president Art Rooney II released a statement.

“I have not spoken with Rashard, so it is hard to explain or even comprehend what he meant with his recent Twitter comments. The entire Steelers organization is very proud of the job our military personnel have done and we can only hope this leads to our troops coming home soon.”

It would appear that Medenhall has some equally wacky views on what slavery was like

Mendenhall, who profiles himself as a “conversationalist and professional athlete” on his Twitter page, turned some heads in March, as well, when he supported a comment by Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson comparing the NFL to “modern-day slavery.”

“Anyone with knowledge of the slave trade and the NFL could say that these two parallel eachother,” Mendenhall posted at the time.

WTF? slavery was like being an NFL player? Good Freaking Grief! I wonder if he is related to this asshat?

Bret Favre sits, streak ends at 297

Well, lots of folks will be joyous over this. All I can say is it was fun to watch.

The Minnesota Vikings quarterback finally gave in Monday to sports mortality, ending his consecutive starts streak at 297 games. He eluded the Four Horsemen for 19 years, steering through Death, Pestilence, Famine and War before they cornered him.

Favre, 41, will miss a game for the first time since Sept. 6, 1992, felled by a sprained SC joint near his right shoulder. The injury left him with numbness in his right hand all week and unable to throw with anything close to his normal velocity.
