Canada Has Detained More Mexicans In First Two Months Of 2017 Than In All Of 2016 – CBC

The Canada Border Services Agency detained more Mexican migrants in the first two months of 2017 than it did in all of 2016, new statistics show.

According to the CBSA, 444 Mexicans had been detained in Canada as of March 9.

In 2016, 410 Mexicans were held by Canadian border officials.

The spike comes immediately after Canada’s federal government lifted its visa requirement for Mexican citizens in December. In January alone, 70 Mexicans made refugee claims upon arriving in Canada.

At that time, Conservative Foreign Affairs critic Peter Kent told CBC News the change was not surprising.

“We anticipated there would be, if not an immediate spike, a surge, and it seems that is what’s happening.”

Many Mexicans looking north have shifted their focus from the United States to Canada as President Donald Trump vows to crack down on America’s undocumented immigrants, about half of whom are Mexican…

Trump Administration To Boycott U.N. Human Rights Council Over Anti-Israel Agenda – Washington Free Beacon
.

.
The Trump administration will boycott the United Nation’s Human Rights Council, or UNHRC, due to its efforts to advance an anti-Israel agenda, according to senior administration officials familiar with the effort who spoke to the Washington Free Beacon.

The UNHRC, which includes member countries cited for mass human rights abuses, is poised on Monday to adopt at least five anti-Israel resolutions, prompting outrage in the Trump administration over what officials described as the council’s unjust bias against the Jewish state.

The action on these items has prompted the Trump administration to boycott the council and refuse to attend the Monday meeting, according to administration officials apprised of the situation who spoke with the Free Beacon…

House Intelligence Chairman: ‘No Evidence Of Collusion’ Between Trump Camp, Russia – The Hill

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) on Sunday said he’s seen no evidence of collusion between President Trump’s campaign and Russia.

Nunes was asked during an interview on “Fox News Sunday” if he has seen any evidence of any collusion between “Trump world” and Russia to swing the 2016 presidential election.

“I’ll give you a very simple answer: ‘No,’ ” Nunes said.

“Up to speed on everything I have up to this morning. No evidence of collusion.”

Nunes was also asked whether he thinks there are elements inside the intelligence community or FBI leaking information to undercut the Trump presidency.

“It’s pretty clear that that’s happening,” he said.

“There’s even been stories written about it in numerous newspapers talking about how they said they left breadcrumbs around to hurt the Trump administration.”

When pressed again on whether he believes there are people inside these intelligence community leaking information, Nunes said he doesn’t “think so anymore.”…

Smoothly But Warily, U.S. And China Stick To Script In Tillerson Visit – Reuters
.

.
Despite a long list of potential pitfalls, U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson’s visit to China, the first by a senior member of the Trump administration, passed off relatively smoothly although there were no tangible gains to show.

On the positive side, there was none of the awkwardness of the kind seen in Washington as President Donald Trump and German Chancellor Angela Merkel held the first summit meeting between two of the West’s biggest allies.

Even a tweet from Trump criticizing China the night before Tillerson landed in Beijing did not, at least in public, create any discord.

As Tillerson wrapped up his visit on Sunday, Chinese President Xi Jinping praised his “active efforts” in making a smooth transition of the U.S.-China relationship to the Trump era…

Obama IRS Rushed Like A Bat Out Of Hell To Give Satanist Group Tax-Exempt Status – Matthew Vadum

The Obama administration sicked the Internal Revenue Service on Tea Party and conservative groups and slow-walked their applications for tax-exempt status, an important attribute for any new nonprofit organization.

But good-government group Judicial Watch discovered that Obama’s IRS granted a Satanist group – yes, Devil-worshippers – official nonprofit status in a mere 10 days from start to finish. Maybe Saul Alinsky paid tribute to Lucifer in Rules for Radicals for a reason.

The Somerville, Mass.-based nonprofit is called Reason Alliance. It carries on business in Washington State as the Satanic Temple of Seattle.

The Reason Alliance “applied for tax-exempt status on October 21, 2014 and received it on October 31, 2014,” according to documents Judicial Watch obtained from the U.S. Department of the Treasury. The group is focused on setting up chapters of the After School Satan Club…

In First 2 Months, Trump Has Reduced The Debt By $100 Billion; Obama Increased It By $400 Billion – Gateway Pundit
.

.
On January 20th, the day of President Trump’s Inauguration, the U.S. Debt stood at $19,947 billion. As of March 16th, the most recent date for U.S. debt reporting, the U.S. Debt stands at $19,846 billion. President Trump has cut the U.S. Debt burden by over $100 billion and 0.5% in the first two months since his inauguration.

By comparison, under President Obama, the U.S. Debt burden increased by more than $400 billion after his inauguration through March 19th 2009, his first two months in office. Obama increased the U.S. Debt by 3.9% during this time period and signed the trillion dollar ‘Stimulus’ bill which is widely considered a colossal failure and waste of US tax dollars as well.

The failed ‘Stimulus’ was the major piece of legislation in Obama’s first year leading to Obama’s first year deficit of $1.4 trillion…

Trump Holds VA Meeting At Mar-A-Lago Saturday Night – Palm Beach Post

The White House said President Donald Trump held a meeting to discuss the Department of Veterans Affairs while at Mar-a-Lago Saturday night.

“This evening President Trump had another meeting, including dinner, concerning the Department of Veterans Affairs and how to turn it around for the benefit of our great veterans,” the White House said in a summary of Trump’s day. “Great progress is being made and will be reported on in the future.”

Trump had said Friday that the meeting was scheduled for that evening at his “Southern White House.” A White House spokeswoman later told The Palm Beach Post that the meeting would not happen at that time.

Though the statement sent Saturday night by the White House did not mention with whom Trump met, pool reports earlier in the day showed the president met with Marvel Entertainment CEO Ike Perlmutter before the pair had dinner with first lady Melania Trump and Perlmutter’s wife, Laura…

Watchdog group Judicial Watch has filed a lawsuit to gather information about the infamous tarmac meeting between former President Bill Clinton and then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch that took place in Phoenix, Arizona on June 27, 2016, a meeting which took place just ahead of FBI Director James Comey’s admission that Hillary Clinton committed a federal crime with her illegal private email server, but would not seek an indictment.

Suspect Detained After Driving Up To White House Checkpoint And Claiming To Have An Explosive Device – Daily Mail

A man has been detained after driving up to a security checkpoint at the White House and claiming he had an explosive device inside, authorities have said.

Officials stopped the car Saturday night, about a quarter-mile from President Trump’s executive residence.

The incident marks the third safety scare in eight days at the White House, raising concerns about lapses in security under the Secret Service’s watch.

Earlier Saturday, someone jumped a low metal barrier just outside a White House fence. About a week earlier a man breached an outer perimeter fence and scaled a vehicle gate to gain entry to the White House grounds and was said to have spent 16 minutes on the property before he was stopped.

A vehicle approached the White House around 11 pm Saturday and was deemed suspicious, a Secret Service spokesperson told Fox News about the latest reported breach…

An FBI-Investigated Islamist Takes Over The Vermont Democrats – Daniel Greenfield

Vermont Democrats have something else to celebrate besides the creation and failure of the first statewide socialized medicine system in America. Recovering from that glorious triumph, Vermont Democrats have elected their first Muslim state party chairman.

The lucky fellow is Faisal Gill who called his victory a rebuke of President Trump. “To have a Muslim and immigrant to be the state party chair sends a really strong message to Trump and his type of politics that this is not where the country is at.”

Gill’s election doesn’t send much of a message about where America is at. But it certainly sends a message about where the Democrats are at.

Back when Gill was playing a Republican, courtesy of Grover Norquist, left-wing media outlets like Salon were willing to report on his troubling Islamist ties…

Democrat Mayor From Ohio Pleads Guilty To Multiple Counts Of Child Rape – WCMH

Former Hubbard, Ohio mayor Richard Keenan, who now admits to raping a young child, is facing life behind bars.

He was visibly shaken Friday as he changed his plea to guilty on 20 counts of sex crimes, including eight counts of rape. Keenan agreed to a life sentence with the eligibility of parole after ten years.

According to court documents, the abuse began as early as September 2013 when the victim – who Keenan knew – was just 4 years old.

“It gives the victim some closure. Obviously, keeps this young child from having to testify and I think it’s a good result given all the facts and circumstances,” said Assistant Prosecutor Gabe Wildman.

He said prosecutors have a responsibility to do what’s best for the victim and that they accomplished that Friday.

“Not bringing her in here to have to testify in the small courtroom with this man in there as well.”

Keenan’s family was emotional. They lashed out at reporters after the hearing and tried to block him from the camera’s view…

Rock ‘N’ Roll Pioneer Chuck Berry Dead At 90 – Reuters
.

.
Chuck Berry, who duck-walked his way into the pantheon of rock ‘n’ roll pioneers as one of its most influential guitarists and lyricists, creating raucous anthems that defined the genre’s sound and heartbeat, died on Saturday at his Missouri home. He was 90.

Police in St. Charles County, outside St. Louis, said they were called to Berry’s home by a caretaker and found him unresponsive. Efforts to revive him failed and he was pronounced dead at 1:26 p.m. local time.

Considered one of the founding fathers of rock ‘n’ roll, Charles Edward Anderson Berry was present at its infancy in the 1950s and emerged as its first star guitarist and songwriter – a nearly 30-year-old black performer whose style electrified young white audiences and was emulated by white performers who came to dominate American popular music…

House Passes Bill To Stop VA From Infringing On Veterans’ Right To Own Guns – Western Journalism

The House voted 240-175 for the Veterans Second Amendment Protection Act to go to the Senate. The White House has signaled that President Donald Trump will sign the legislation if it passes the Senate.

The bill would end the current practice under which the Department of Veterans Affairs rules that veterans who cannot manage their financial affairs are automatically entered into National Instant Criminal Background Check System as unable to own a gun.

The bill would require a judge to assess the veteran to determine if he or she is truly a threat to anyone before the veteran is added to the database.

Israeli Hospital Helps 16 Deaf Palestinian Children Hear For First Time – Times Of Israel

Sixteen deaf Palestinian children were able to hear for the first time after undergoing a procedure at an Israeli hospital to repair their hearing, Hebrew media reported Saturday.

The operations to repair the children’s hearing, known as cochlear implant surgery, were performed by doctors at Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem in Jerusalem over the course of the past several months, according to the Ynet news website.

The last six surgeries took place over the course of just a few days.

Dr. Michal Kaufmann, who performed the surgeries, told Ynet that being able to perform the operations was quite difficult due to the “logistical challenge[s].”

“Many authorizations were required from the Defense Ministry,” she said, adding that “some of the children arrived without a medical record and required extensive tests at Hadassah alongside emotional and psychological treatment.”

The surgery involves a small electronic implant being directly inserted into the cochlear hearing nerve in the ear to stimulate the auditory senses, with an external microphone then transferring the sounds to the internal part of the device and allowing the patient to hear, according to John Hopkins Hospital…

China Is Finally Putting The Screws To North Korea – Daily Caller

China is preparing to deliver a crushing blow to the weak North Korean economy.

It is suspending all coal imports from North Korea, the Ministry of Commerce said Saturday, without going into specifics as to why it was taking action.

Coal exports are a primary source of income for the reclusive state. Following North Korea’s fourth nuclear test in February last year, the United Nations Security Council passed UNSC Resolution 2270, which placed restrictions on North Korea’s coal exports but made exceptions through the “livelihood purposes” clause. China has been accused of exploiting this loophole to continue importing North Korean coal in order to reduce international pressure on Pyongyang.

China agreed to reduce its coal imports from North Korea last April, yet by August, coal imports had surged. In August, China imported 2.47 million tons of coal from the North. In 2016, China imported 22.48 million tons of coal, a year-on-year increase of 14.5 percent.

After the North conducted its fifth nuclear test in September last year, the UNSC passed UNSC Resolution 2321, which put a cap on North Korean coal exports, reducing its annual coal export revenue by an estimated $700 million…

50 Rhino Poachers Shot Dead After India Unleashes ‘Zero Tolerance’ Conservation Policy – Zero Hedge

As TheAntiMedia’s James Holbrooks reports, to protect rhinos, this national park shoots poachers, and has killed over 50 so far.

“The instruction is whenever you see poachers or hunters, we should start our guns and hunt them.”

“You shoot them?”

“Yah, yah. Fully ordered to shoot them. Whenever you see the poachers or any people during night-time we are ordered to shoot them.”

This exchange took place between journalist Justin Rowlatt and a wildlife preserve guard in India and highlights a practice that’s produced both encouragingly positive and heartbreakingly negative effects – all in the name of conservation.

Last week, BBC detailed a story unfolding at Kaziranga National Park, a wildlife conservation area in east India. Since 2014, the Indian government has granted the power to park guards to shoot and kill any and all suspected poachers with little worry they’ll face legal consequences afterward.

“Kill the unwanted,” M.K. Yadava, then-director of the park – and the man who introduced the controversial policy – recommended in a 2014 report. He also stated his belief that environmental crimes such as poaching are more serious than murder, as “[t]hey erode the very root of existence of all civilizations on this earth silently.”…

A Day Without Jobs: 18 Tennesseans Fired For Taking Part In ‘A Day Without Immigrants’ Protest – KGTV

A total of 18 people were fired from a Tennessee business after joining the nation-wide protest “A Day Without Immigrants.”

The 18 employees at Bradley Coatings, Incorporated in Nolensville, Tennessee told their supervisors on Wednesday they’d be taking part in the nationwide movement. Then, on Thursday, they were told they no longer had jobs.

“We are the team leaders directly under the supervisors and they informed us last night that we could not go back to work and the boss said we were fired,” one employee said.

The former employee asked to remain anonymous but had this message to his former boss.

“I would tell him he was unfair, after working for them for so many years, giving him our best. They could not understand that it was just one day. We were going to make up that day on a Sunday, but they didn’t understand that, and it was not the best way. They didn’t give us an opportunity and just told us we were fired,” he said.

“Tennessee is an employment-at-will state which basically means an employer can end your employment at any time without reason or cause. Of course there are a lot of different stipulations, civil rights issues that could stop them from doing that,” Department of Labor and Workforce Development spokesman, Chris Cannon said…

The San Francisco resident was fined $1,000 a day for the 90 days he used personal email accounts without being a registered lobbyist to lobby Mayor Emanuel, former Chief of Staff to President Barack Obama, to allow Uber to make unlimited ride-share pick-ups at Chicago’s Midway and O’Hare airports. Plouffe and Emanuel had worked together during Obama’s first campaign.

The City of Chicago had operated a lucrative business auctioning off taxi cab medallions for a minimum of $360,000 per medallion. That explained why the base fare for a Chicago taxi ride was $ 3.25 for the first mile and $ 2.25 for each additional mile…

Too ‘Politically Incorrect’: Students Want Dalai Lama Banned From Campus – Red Alert Politics

Social justice warriors can find a way to be offended by anything. Even the Dalai Lama’s words are too controversial for their delicate ears.

Students at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) are protesting their school’s announcement that the Dalai Lama will speak at their commencement ceremony in June. Chinese students studying at the American campus said he was an oppressive figure given his stance on Tibetan independence. Meanwhile, left-wing students are angered by his criticism of the Communist Party of China, Quartz Media reported.

A few hours after the announcement, the Chinese Students and Scholars Association (CSSA) released a note in Mandarin on WeChat saying it had communicated with the Chinese consulate.

“UCSD is a place for students to cultivate their minds and enrich their knowledge. Currently, the various actions undertaken by the university have contravened the spirit of respect, tolerance, equality, and earnestness – the ethos upon which the university is built,” the note stated. “These actions have also dampened the academic enthusiasm of Chinese students and scholars…

If you were wondering who would play the role of resident unhinged Trump-basher that Megyn Kelly left vacant, that role is now filled.

Shep was NOT happy about Trump bashing CNN as fake news. (Did he also object when Obama treated Fox like fake news? Because if he didn’t… THAT would be awkward)

Watching this, we were half-expecting Shep to break into a Meryl Streep crying fit.

Shep is interested in any ‘connection’ team Trump had with Russia. But not any role CNN had with propping up Hillary. Or the finger DWS used tipping the scales against Bernie before leaving the DNC and joining Hillary’s campaign…

Leaked Emails: Dem State Leaders Think Obama’s New Organizing Army Is ‘Grade A Bullshit’ – Daily Beast

It is difficult to overstate just how enraged state Democratic activists and leaders are with Organizing for Action (OFA), the political and community-organizing army that grew out of Barack Obama’s presidential campaigns.

The nonprofit, which functions as a sort of parallel-Democratic National Committee, was founded to mobilize Democratic voters and supporters in defense of President Obama’s, and the Democratic Party’s, agenda. Instead, the organization has drawn the intense ire, both public and private, of grassroots organizers and state parties that are convinced that OFA inadvertently helped decimate Democrats at the state and local level, while Republicans cemented historic levels of power and Donald J. Trump actually became leader of the free world.

These intra-party tensions aren’t going away, especially now that OFA “relaunched” itself last week to protect the Affordable Care Act, boost turnout at congressional townhalls, and train grassroots organizers gearing up for the Trump era.

“This is some GRADE A Bullshit right here,” Stephen Handwerk, executive director of the Louisiana Democratic Party, wrote in a private Democratic-listserv email obtained by The Daily Beast…

Judicial Watch Planning To Sue FBI, NSA And CIA For Flynn Records – Breibart

Conservative foundation Judicial Watch is planning to sue several government agencies if they do not hand over records related to the wiretapping of former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn.

The group filed Freedom of Information Act requests for the records weeks ago but are planning to sue by next week for the records if they do not receive anything by then.

Judicial Watch filed the requests with the FBI, NSA, CIA, and Treasury Department, according to the group’s Director of Investigations and Research Chris Farrell.

The group is aiming to find out whether there was ever a warrant allowing the U.S. government to wiretap Flynn’s phone calls, and if so, who requested it and why.

“If you have a warrant, attached to the warrant 99 percent of the time, there is an affidavit, a sworn declaration normally by a law enforcement officer or senior official,” said Farrell.

Such a warrant could be classified, depending on the case, he said.

A wiretapped phone call between Flynn and Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak was leaked to the Washington Post and revealed in a Feb. 9 story.

The leak, which took place in December, contradicted public assertions by Vice President Michael Pence that Flynn had never discussed sanctions with Kislyak, and led to Flynn’s eventual resignation on Monday…

Scott Pruitt Confirmed As EPA Chief Despite Democrat Obstruction – Washington Times
.

.
Scott Pruitt won confirmation Friday to be administrator of the EPA, foiling Democrats’ attempts to hold up his nomination until the former Oklahoma attorney general complies with a judge’s order and releases thousands of emails between his office and oil-and-gas companies.

In a highly contentious vote that came on the heels of a last-ditch delaying effort from Democrats, Mr. Pruitt was approved to head the agency by a vote of 52 to 46.

The vote broke largely along party lines, though two Democrats – Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Sen. Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota – backed Mr. Pruitt.

Republican Sen. Susan Collins of Maine voted against him, saying she does not believe he’s fit to head the EPA. She was the only member of the GOP caucus to vote against Mr. Pruitt…

House Oversight Committee Pursues Charges Against Architect Of Hillary’s Illegal Email System – Dailer Caller

The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee is pursuing charges against Bryan Pagliano, the architect of Hillary Clinton’s email system who ignored subpoenas to testify in front of Congress last year.

Utah Rep. Jason Chaffetz, the Republican chairman of the committee, asked Attorney General Jeff Sessions in a letter Thursday to convene a grand jury to pursue charges against Pagliano in the matter.

“The authority to compel witnesses is integral to Congress’s and the Committee’s investigative powers,” Chaffetz stated in the referral.

“Allowing Mr. Pagliano’s conduct to go unaddressed would gravely harm Congress’s ability to conduct oversight. This letter details the Committee’s significant efforts to work with Pagliano and his attorneys to avoid the necessity of a criminal referral – including giving Pagliano a second opportunity to show up after first failing to appear.”

Pagliano was subpoenaed by Congress to testify on Sept. 13 and Sept. 22 but failed to up to the hearings. The Oversight Committee then voted to hold Pagliano in contempt of Congress.

Pagliano worked for Clinton at the State Department. There, he set up and maintained her secret email system, on which classified information was stored…

Harvard Geneticists On The Brink Of Resurrecting The Woolly Mammoth – IBT

Geneticists from Harvard University claim that they are on the brink of bringing the woolly mammoth back to life. The mammoth lived in Africa, North America, Asia and Europe before they vanished 4,500 years ago, towards the end of the Pleistocene period. The geneticists say that they are now just two years away from resurrecting the extinct animal.

The team of researchers led by Professor George Church plan to come up with a revolutionary research by using frozen DNA of the mammoth preserved in Arctic permafrost.

“We’re working on ways to evaluate the impact of all these edits and basically trying to establish embryogenesis in the lab,” Professor Church, head of the Harvard Woolly Mammoth Revival team, was quoted as saying by The Telegraph…

It’s A Bloodbath At The State Department – New York Post

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is cleaning house at the State Department, according to a report.

Staffers in the offices of deputy secretary of state for management and resources as well as counselor were shown the door Thursday, according to CBS News.

Many of those let go were on the building’s seventh floor – top-floor bigs – a symbolically important sign to the rest of the diplomatic corps that their new boss has different priorities than the last one.

The staffing changes came as Tillerson was on his first foreign trip – attending a G-20 meeting in Bonn, Germany.

“As part of the transition from one administration to the next, we continue to build out our team. The State Department is supported by a very talented group of individuals, both Republicans and Democrats,” State Department spokesman RC Hammond told CBS.

“We are appreciative to any American who dedicates their talents to public,” he added.

Black Trump Supporter Goes Off On Leftists At ‘Sanctuary City’ Town Hall Meeting – Mad World News

After opening a public forum for members of the community to speak about their sanctuary city for illegal immigrants, a few politicians realized they bit off more than they could chew. That was proven to be the case when a black woman approached the podium – and she left the panel in complete shock after dropping eight badass words.

Most of America is aware of the Democrats’ tactics to hinder President Donald Trump’s efforts at every turn, but at this point, they’re just putting the lives of their constituents at risk. In fact, as we continue to see more sanctuary cities pop up, we’re also seeing a spike in crime that comes along with it – but not everyone is taking it lying down.

In fact, residents of Cudahy, California, were so outraged over the decision to let criminals roam free within their town limits that local politicians were forced to open their doors to hear everyone out…

President Trump Visits South Carolina Boeing Plant – USA Today

Conducting his first visit beyond the Beltway since his inauguration four weeks ago, President Trump on Friday stressed his “America First” trade and economic policies during a campaign-like visit to an airplane plant operated by Boeing – a company he has criticized in the past.

“We are going to fight for every last American job,” Trump told employees at Boeing as the company rolled out its latest model, the 787-10 Dreamliner (“Dreamliner… great name,” the president said).

During a speech in which he referenced last year’s presidential election several times, Trump repeated a policy approach that has drawn opposition from congressional Democrats and some Republicans.

While alluding to his dispute with Boeing over the costs of a new Air Force One model, Trump said he and his administration have persuaded global companies to keep or increase jobs in the United States. In many cases, Trump took credit for corporate plans that were already in the works when he won election in November.

The president also echoed pledges to change trade deals and reduce regulations that he said have encouraged companies to move jobs to other countries; congressional critics say Trump’s approach would lead to less trade and higher prices for products at home…

Report: Leftist Minimum Wage Hikes Will Lead To 1.8 Million Job Losses – Washington Free Beacon

Minimum wage increases over the next several years will result in 1.8 million job losses, according to a report from the American Action Forum.

By July of this year, 22 states and the District of Columbia will have implemented minimum wage increases. In just 2017 alone, wage increases will lead to 383,000 job losses.

While the goal of increasing the minimum wage is to increase earnings for low-income individuals, the report finds that the additional earnings transferred from the job losers to the job keepers is minimal. For example, minimum wage hikes are projected to increase earnings by only $6,900, which would be split among all employees affected by the increase.

“While proposals to raise the minimum wage are well intended, it is important to consider the negative labor market consequences,” the report states. “A 10 percent increase in the real minimum wage is associated with a 0.3 to 0.5 percentage-point decline in the net job growth rate.”

“As a result, three years later employment becomes 0.7 percent lower than it would have been absent the minimum wage increase,” the report states.

In just 2017, minimum wage increases will lead to 1,000 eliminated jobs in Vermont to 109,000 job losses in New York…

Families Sue NYC For Reporting Them To Child Services When They Homeschool – The Federalist

New York City mother Tanya Acevedo received a home visit from Child Protective Services at 7 p.m. this winter. They were investigating her for “educational neglect” because she had legally withdrawn her child from the public system to homeschool.

After Tanya let them in, a CPS investigator insisted that they interview her child in private, and inspected their apartment, including a look inside Tanya’s refrigerator – standard practice for a home under investigation for “neglect.” The officer left Tanya with stern instructions to produce documents and her child the next day at the CPS office.

Tanya called the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) for help. After many calls navigating the New York Public School District’s bureaucracy – and another visit from CPS – her case was closed. She had followed all the applicable laws to withdraw her son from public schools and begin homeschooling. The school district had not recorded the paperwork she’d filed, so her son began accruing “absences” that eventually triggered the CPS investigation.

“Even though the school knew that Tanya had filed a notice of intent to homeschool, it reported her to CPS for ‘educational neglect’ because its policy required it to do so after so many ‘absences’ had accrued,” writes Jim Mason, HSLDA’s vice president of litigation…

Non-Russian Democrats Suspected Of Accessing House Intelligence Committee Computers – Independent Sentinel

In light of last year’s email hacks, this is very interesting. Three brothers were relieved of their IT duties for possibly accessing congressional computers, including Debbie Wasserman-Schultz’s computer network. Abid, Imran and Jamal Awan have worked for dozens of departments in the House of Representatives.

Brothers Abid, Imran, and Jamal Awan were barred from computer networks at the House of Representatives Thursday, The Daily Caller News Foundation Investigative Group has learned.

The committees that employed these brothers deal with many of the nation’s most sensitive issues, information and documents, including those related to the war on terrorism.

Also among those whose computer systems may have been compromised is Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the Florida Democrat who was previously the target of a disastrous email hack when she served as chairman of the Democratic National Committee during the 2016 campaign…

Seattle Judge Wrong, Overreached With Nationwide Injunction On Travel Ban – Robert Barnes

Two different courts, on opposite coasts, ruled in opposite directions on Friday. A Boston federal court affirmed Trump’s executive order as “bona fide”; a Seattle federal court enjoined it. Both spoke to requests for “nationally” effective rulings. Can federal courts give conflicting directions to government employees? Did Homeland predict this in their screenplays?

The Seattle decision overstepped the traditional boundaries of district court authority, especially when sister courts are ruling on the same issues. Both the Supreme Court and the Ninth Circuit warned against issuing a national order in just these kind of cases.

Unlike state courts, federal courts enjoy the possibility of national reach in their decision. Due to the risk of conflicting decisions within the courts, venue-shopping by litigants (note how the ACLU, CAIR and the Attorney Generals aren’t suing in any Trump states), and the interference with the executive branch of government in their daily duties, the Supreme Court established precedents – precedents being what constitutes “evidence” for lawyers about what the law says – to limit this problem from occurring.

First, the Supreme Court warned against issuing any relief not individually and specifically necessary to the plaintiffs before the court. Califano v. Yamasaki, 442 U.S. 682, 702 (1979)…

Fake Hate Crime: Wisconsin College Student Put Anti-Muslim Graffiti On Own Door – Breitbart

A student at a Wisconsin college was arrested for defacing his own dorm room door with anti-Muslim graffiti in order to get attention, according to police.

Officials at Beloit College in Beloit, Wisconsin, were shocked when a student, 20-year-old Michael Kee, reported that anti-Muslim threats appeared on his door and on a wall outside his dorm room. The student told police he felt he was being threatened over his religion and ethnicity.

Police initially treated the incident as a hate crime, but after an investigation they determined that the student had perpetrated a fraud and painted the graffiti himself, according to WQRF.

Officials now say the student was affected by the outpouring of support a Jewish student recently received when he was a victim of a threatening note pushed under his door. Police said Kee “observed how the Beloit College community had come together after the first reported incident and wanted similar attention.”

The police added that Kee’s fraudulent hate crime would only served to “de-legitimize” victims of real hate crimes…

Federal Judge Unblocks Trump Travel Ban, Asks “Where Does It Say Muslim Countries?” – Zero Hedge

As we detailed earlier, in a blow to every mainstream media news outlet (and likely hurting a lot of feelings), President Donald Trump’s ban on immigrants from seven Muslim-majority countries will take effect in Boston on Sunday after a federal judge refused to extend a temporary ruling blocking its enforcement.

As Bloomberg reports, the decision by U.S. District Judge Nathaniel Gorton on Friday dealt a setback to rights advocates who argued that blocking people from seven nations in the Middle East was unconstitutional. Gorton was weighing whether to extend a seven-day order blocking parts of Trump’s Executive Order.

The case, filed by the American Civil Liberties Union on behalf of several affected immigrants, is one of several that followed Trump’s Jan 27 order, which roiled global travel by barring entry to the U.S. of citizens of Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen. Individuals, organizations, politicians and some states called it unconstitutional religious discrimination against Muslims.

Another of the treasonous group is of course, Marco “which way is the wind blowing” Rubio, followed closely by Paul “no tax relief” Ryan, and John “I should have been the nominee” Kasich.

Judge Dismisses $4 Million Lawsuit By Leftist Pundit Who Trump Called A ‘Real Dummy’ – Law Newz

The target of a Donald Trump insult attack on Twitter fought back by filing a lawsuit against the President-elect, alleging his tweets damaged her reputation, cost her televisions appearances and subjected her to bullying. The lawsuit, filed last year by Cheri Jacobs, demanded $4 million in damages. If Trump was concerned, perhaps he is breathing a bit easier tonight after the case was dismissed by a Manhattan Judge on Tuesday who wrote that the First Amendment protects Trump’s right to hurl insults on Twitter.

The two tweets at the center of the lawsuit stemmed from an appearance Jacobus made on CNN back in February when she reportedly claimed his campaign was less than transparent about its finances.

Trump seemingly did not care for the remarks, so he unloaded on Jacobus:

Australia’s Refugees Are Not America’s Problem – Kyle Sammin

On Wednesday night, the foreign policy world was atwitter over reports of a heated phone call between President Trump and the prime minister of Australia, Malcolm Turnbull, about refugees intercepted while trying to enter Australia. The media ran with the story. Conflict gets clicks, after all. But while news reports focused on the controversy and chaos that came from this dust-up with our antipodean ally, the underlying question is strangely untouched: why should the United States accept refugees from Australia?

Accepting refugees from Syria and Iraq is a more straightforward question, whether you agree with it or not. Someone leaving those countries and arriving here is exiting a war-torn hell hole and entering a paradise.

Even sharing the burden of refugee resettlement makes some sense when you consider that many Near Eastern refugees cannot get themselves to the United States and are packed into teeming camps in nearby Jordan, Lebanon, and Turkey. Those countries are poorer than ours and lack the capacity to house millions of newly homeless foreigners. Other states with more money and room (like the Gulf Arab states) might be expected to help out…

Trump Imposes New Sanctions On Iran Over Ballistic Missile Test – Bloomberg

Iran carried out further missile tests during an annual military exercise, a day after President Donald Trump imposed fresh sanctions on a raft of individuals and companies in response to the country test-firing a ballistic rocket last week.

The country successfully tested a range of land-to-land missiles and radar systems during the drills in a 35,000 square-kilometer stretch of desert in the northern Iranian province of Semnan, the semi-official Tasnim agency reported Saturday, citing Amir Ali Hajizadeh, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps’ aerospace division.

“If the enemy falls out of line, our missiles will pour down on them,” the brigadier general was cited as telling reporters on the sidelines of the military trials, without referring to any particular nations. Any threats made by the U.S. against Iran were “nonsensical,” Tasnim cited him as saying.

‘Clock Boy’ Gets Clock Cleaned In Free-Speech Victory – WorldNetDaily

There’s more trouble for “Clock Boy,” Ahmed Mohamed, and his father, Mohamed Mohamed.

They apparently will have to pay the attorneys’ fees, court costs and “other expenses” of at least one of the personalities they sued when the youngster brought what looked like a bomb to his public school and was suspended.

Conservative commentator Ben Shapiro posted a judge’s ruling in the case brought by Mohamed Mohamed against him, the Blaze, Glenn Beck, Center for Security Policy, Jim Hanson, Fox News, Ben Ferguson and others.

ISIS’ Chief Executioner Stabbed To Death In Iraq – Daily Mail

Islamic State’s chief executioner, who has beheaded more than 100 people, has been stabbed to death in an ambush in Iraq.

Nicknamed Abu Sayyaf, he was dubbed one of the terror groups scariest decapitators and was paraded in their sick videos for his huge frame.

He was also said to be leading ISIS in the Nineveh State, where he was killed by an unknown group who swarmed terrorist territory.

Abu Sayyaf, translated to mean ‘father of swordsmith’, is also the name for an ISIS branch in the Philippines synonymous with beheadings and kidnappings.

The executioner, who died in the al-Dasawa region in the western side of the city of Nineveh, was renowned for collecting the heads of his victims and dumping them in the same infamous hole in the region of al-Khasafa.

Muhammad Yawar, an Iraqi journalist, told ARA News: ‘Abu Sayyaf was one of the scariest executioners in Nineveh. He was known for his huge body and heavy arms. He was one of the renowned faces in the ISIS propaganda videos.

‘Abu Sayyaf was a reflection of the brutality of this terrorist group.’…

The account has only a few hundred followers and again it says in it’s own description that it is a parody account yet the Daily Beast didn’t bother to check it’s sources and even scarier they use twitter as their news source to find information.

The parody account responded to attacks from people by saying, “It’s not my fault modern journalists are all gullible morons.”

Seven Inconvenient Facts About Trump’s Refugee Actions – John Hayward

The sober and logical reasons for President Donald Trump’s executive order on refugees and visitors are rising above the noise after an evening of hysterical over-reactions and emotional meltdowns on the nation’s TV networks.

Advocates of sane, secure immigration policy have long noted that it’s almost impossible to have a reasonable discussion of the refugee and immigration issues, because it’s been sentimentalized and politicized beyond the realm of rational thought.

This weekend brings them another superb example of media-magnified shrieking about fascism, bleating about “white nationalists,” howling about “religious persecution,” false invocations of the Constitution, and theatrical sobbing on behalf of the Statue of Liberty.

For readers who want to wallow in the emotion, examples can be found in this handy dossier of hysteria compiled by the Washington Post. But clear-eyed adults prefer to examine plain facts about Trump’s executive order:

1. It is NOT a “Muslim ban.” You will search the Executive Order in vain for mentions of Islam, or any other religion. By Sunday morning, the media began suffering acute attacks of honesty and writing headlines such as “Trump’s Latest Executive Order: Banning People From 7 Countries and More” (CNN) and printing the full text of the order…

New York City Mayor Bill DeBlasio told CNN’s Jake Tapper that it is OK to shield undocumented immigrants who drive drunk from federal authorities if it does not “lead to any other negative outcome.”

Tapper asked the Democratic mayor on Sunday’s “State of the Union” if he would comply with federal authorities following President Trump’s executive order to halt funding to cities that do not cooperate with immigration officials by presenting a specific scenario.

“If you’re a drunk driver and you’re an undocumented immigrant, why should there be a place for you in this country?” Tapper asked…

Flashback: Obama Regime Stopped Processing Iraq Refugee Requests For 6 Months In 2011 – The Federalist

Although the Obama administration currently refuses to temporarily pause its Syrian refugee resettlement program in the United States, the State Department in 2011 stopped processing Iraq refugee requests for six months after the Federal Bureau of Investigation uncovered evidence that several dozen terrorists from Iraq had infiltrated the United States via the refugee program.

After two terrorists were discovered in Bowling Green, Kentucky, in 2009, the FBI began reviewing reams of evidence taken from improvised explosive devices (IEDs) that had been used against American troops in Iraq. Federal investigators then tried to match fingerprints from those bombs to the fingerprints of individuals who had recently entered the United States as refugees:

An intelligence tip initially led the FBI to Waad Ramadan Alwan, 32, in 2009. The Iraqi had claimed to be a refugee who faced persecution back home – a story that shattered when the FBI found his fingerprints on a cordless phone base that U.S. soldiers dug up in a gravel pile south of Bayji, Iraq on Sept. 1, 2005. The phone base had been wired to unexploded bombs buried in a nearby road.

An ABC News investigation of the flawed U.S. refugee screening system, which was overhauled two years ago, showed that Alwan was mistakenly allowed into the U.S. and resettled in the leafy southern town of Bowling Green, Kentucky, a city of 60,000 which is home to Western Kentucky University and near the Army’s Fort Knox and Fort Campbell…

Obama-Appointed Judge Partially Blocks Trump’s Immigration Order – Zero Hedge

Symbolic war broke out between the Judicial and Executive branches shortly before 9pm on Saturday evening, when federal judge Ann Donnelly in the Eastern District of New York in Brooklyn issued an emergency stay halting Trump’s executive order banning immigrants from seven mostly Muslim nations entering the US, and temporarily letting people who landed in U.S. with valid visa to remain on US territory, saying removing the refugees could cause “irreparable harm”.

The court’s ruling was in response to a petition filed on Saturday morning by the ACLU on behalf of the two Iraqi men who were initially detained at JFK International Airport on Friday night after Trump’s ban, and were subsequently granted entry into the US.

The ACLU issued the following statement following the court ruling:

A federal judge tonight granted the American Civil Liberties Union’s request for a nationwide temporary injunction that will block the deportation of all people stranded in U.S. airports under President Trump’s new Muslim ban. The ACLU and other legal organizations filed a lawsuit on behalf of individuals subject to President Trump’s Muslim ban. The lead plaintiffs have been detained by the U.S. government and threatened with deportation even though they have valid visas to enter the United States…

Muslim Migrant Gang Burns Down Women’s Center Just Weeks After It Opens – Daily Express

The Women’s Centre at the refugee camp in Grande-Synthe on the outskirts of Dunkirk, northern France, was gutted by fire only a few weeks after it was officially opened by volunteers.

The centre was opened as a safe place for women refugees and their infants to get emotional support, help and information around feeding babies and young children, and health advice.

It was funded by thousands of pounds raised through crowdfunding.

According to volunteers helping refugees within the camp, which has housed hundreds of migrants trying to get into the UK since 2006, it has been infiltrated by a migrant “criminal gang” that is believed may be responsible for the fire.

It is not clear if this month’s alleged arson has been officially reported to the authorities, but details of it have emerged in online blogs written by volunteers who have visited the camp.

Maddie McMahon, a breastfeeding counsellor from Cambridge who embarked on an separate visit, wrote in a blog on thebirthhub.co.uk of her upset at learning about the fire after previously visiting the centre, and of the criminal gangs.

She said: “The Woman’s Centre is gutted. So are we…

Congress Orders FBI To Hand Over Hillary’s Email Server – USA Newsflash

Congressed has finally done what we wanted to see it do for a long time now. It ordered the FBI to hand over the contents of Clinton’s email server, so that they can conduct their own investigation into possible ‘criminal activity’.

The FBI Director James Comey was asked to give the House Oversight Committee the Datto Company’s secure cloud storage that contained Hillary’s server contents.

Reports from The Gateway Pundit say that Datto, Inc. informed the Congress back in 2015 that it provided the FBI with the storage node of containing emails from the private server of Hillary Clinton. And today, the House Oversight Committee demanded that FBI hand them over the emails that they’ve been protecting so hard for a year now…

President Trump Talks To Five World Leaders On Saturday – KTLA

US President Donald Trump may be having his biggest day of diplomacy yet, speaking by phone Saturday with five world leaders – most significantly Russia’s Vladimir Putin and Germany’s Angela Merkel.

It was Trump’s first phone conversation with the Russian President since his inauguration last week, and one whose outcome will be closely studied.

CNN’s Matthew Chance in Moscow said a Kremlin summary of the phone call talked about stabilizing the relationship between the two nations and several other subjects. Some of the other issues included restoring trade ties, international terrorism, the situations in Ukraine and the Korean Peninsula, and the coordination of military action against ISIS and other terrorist groups in Syria.

The Kremlin call summary didn’t specifically mention US sanctions against Russia. It said restoration of mutually beneficial economic ties “could further stimulate progressive and stable development of bilateral relations,” according to a CNN translation of the Russian statement.

Both Trump and Putin said before the call that they would like to see warmer ties between their two nations. However, relations between Trump and his team and Russia have been under scrutiny following allegations that Moscow meddled in the US election last year…

Trump Orders Joint Chiefs To Plan ISIS Destruction – Washington Times

President Trump signed executive action Saturday ordering the Joint Chiefs of Staff to immediately develop a plan to defeat the Islamic State, sending a message to the world that obliterating the terrorist army is a top priority for the U.S.

“This is the plan to defeat the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, in other words ISIS,” he said as he singed the document in the Oval Office. “I think it’s going to be very successful. That’s big stuff.”

The president issued the order in the form of executive action to send a message, said a senior administration official.

“Obviously that executive order will represent a profound statement on the part of the United States that we are committed to ending this atrocity,” said the official.

The Joint Chief will have to present options for the destruction of ISIS to Mr. Trump within 30 days. Anticipating the order, military leaders reportedly have already begun to devise new strategies.

Mr. Trump signed two other executive actions.

He signed an order to reorganize the National Security Council. Mr. Trump said it would make the council more efficient and enhance the security of the U.S…

ABC Omits From Transcript Trump Shutting Down Muir On March For Life – Newsbusters

On Thursday afternoon, our friends at RedState flagged this peculiar development that ABC News transcript excluded an exchange from the David Muir-President Trump interview where Trump scolded Muir for the media’s lack of coverage of the March for Life versus the Women’s March on Washington.

With an eagle eye for this detail, RedState’s “Streiff” provided a generous nod to Nicholas Fondacaro’s blog from Wednesday night and concluded it’d be pertinent to check out the full transcript.

That’s where Streiff ran into trouble:

Guess what? This entire exchange is simply omitted from the ABC transcript.

Is it a clerical oversight? Did they not like seeing powdered and blow-dried empty suit that runs their news operation stuttering away? Did it interfere with their narrative about Trump? Did they, in short, intentionally cut it? I don’t know anything more than that, but the omission seems to make Donald Trump’s point about March for Life coverage in a much stronger way than Trump did. In other words, that they’re so committed to not covering the size of the March they couldn’t even let this point stand on their website.

Further, Muir discussed this portion of the interview on Thursday during ABC’s Good Morning America…

Next On Trump’s List: Rein In The UN Dictators Club – New American

Establishment globalists were right to be concerned about the fate of their schemes. After a fast-paced first week of putting “America First” by targeting pseudo-“free trade” regimes and rogue regulatory agencies, President Donald Trump is reportedly preparing to take on the United Nations.

Its swarms of agencies, programs, bureaucracies, conventions, and associated schemes are also in the crosshairs. He is also planning a review of sovereignty-stealing UN treaties, with a view toward restoring self-government in various policy areas and saving U.S. taxpayers billions of dollars. Globalists everywhere are in a panic…

Trump’s Executive Orders Dramatically Expand Power Of Immigration Officers – CNN

The immigration executive orders signed by President Donald Trump this week could amount to a vast expansion of authority for individual immigration officers and a dramatic increase in efforts to detain and deport undocumented immigrants.

The order lays out a series of categories of undocumented immigrants that immigration law enforcement officials should prioritize for removing from the country, a reaction to what was criticized by the right as lax enforcement of immigration law by former President Barack Obama.

But experts say the descriptions include virtually every person in the country illegally and give broad latitude to individual immigration officers to decide who should be detained for deportation.

In addition to a strain on resources, critics worry the orders could cause legal concerns.

The Obama administration had prioritized expulsion of undocumented immigrants who threatened public safety or national security, had ties to criminal gang activity, committed serious felony offenses or were habitual misdemeanor criminal offenders.

Trump’s order goes far beyond that, using a sweeping definition of “criminal” and giving a single immigration officer the ability to make judgments on threats to public safety…

“Persecuted Christians, we’ve talked about this, the refugees overseas. The refugee program, or the refugee changes you’re looking to make. As it relates to persecuted Christians, do you see them as kind of a priority here?” Brody asked.

The Democrats Retreat From Reality – Matthew Continetti

“Retreat” is an appropriate description of what took place in Harper’s Ferry, West Virginia, this week. Senate Democrats took a break from not confirming President Trump’s cabinet to visit this historic city in a state the president won by 40 points. According to Politico the assembled were scheduled to hear from associates of the Clinton family and to “hold lessons on how to talk to real people.” Oh to be a fly on the wall.

I like to imagine Elizabeth Warren and Chuck Schumer nodding sagely as Joe Manchin, the only Democratic senator with a modicum of common sense, asks a group of Trump voters to explain why calling people drug-addled unemployable racist misogynistic fascists is not, in fact, the best way to earn their votes. It’s moments like these when Barbara Boxer’s absence from the Democratic caucus would be most felt, I think. Faced with Trump supporters, the former California senator likely would respond with a hysterical and barely coherent monologue involving climate change, immigration, abortion rights, and gun control, all the while oblivious to the fact that these were the very issues that brought Trump to office. At least Boxer has pizzazz. These days the role of the clueless liberal proclaiming her moral supremacy over the déclassé is left to the nondescript, soporific, Dolores Umbridge-like Patty Murray. Here is yet another example of national decline…

Obama Has Refused To Deport 820,000 Illegal Aliens Guilty Of Murder, Rape, Drug Offenses, And Other Crimes – Breitbart

A new report estimates that there are up to 820,000 illegal aliens in the U.S. who have escaped deportation under Obama’s regime despite that many of them have been convicted of serious crimes including murder, rape, drug offenses, and other crimes.

While some estimates say there are up to 2 million criminal illegal aliens in the U.S., a new report from the Center for Immigration Studies finds there are at least 820,000 which, as the Washington Examiner’s Paul Bedard notes, is still larger than the populations of four states: Alaska, North Dakota, Vermont, or Wyoming.

The study finds that as many as 690,000 of the 820,000 have very serious convictions, while the others have lesser crimes to their record.

Bedard also quotes CIS fellow David North who discounts dividing the illegal immigrants into separate categories based on lesser or greater crimes saying, “an illegal alien with a shoplifting record, for example, is an illegal alien who does not belong here in the first place.”

During his last four years in office, the number of illegal immigrants Obama deported plunged from his first term. In fact, during 2015, the number of deportations have cratered even over those of 2014 and measured in at his lowest number thus far in his presidency.

According to numbers supplied by the Department of Homeland Security, Obama deported 333,000 illegal immigrants (of which 140,000 were convicted of various crimes) in 2015 which is less than the 414,000 from 2014 (with 168,000 those being convicted of major crimes)…

Obama Becomes First Nobel Peace Prize Winner To Bomb 7 Countries – Your News Wire

Barack Obama, the president who promised change, actually provided more of the same. As the 44th President of the United States prepares to exit stage left, he can congratulate himself on becoming the first Nobel Peace Prize winner to bomb seven different countries back to the Stone Age.

The president who preached hope also kept the military-industrial complex in fine fettle, selling a record $115 billion in weapons to Saudi Arabia, the world’s most repressive regime, and destabilized entire regions, creating vacuums for terrorists to thrive.

As the United States renews a bombing and propaganda campaign in Syria, it seems like America’s penchant for waging war knows no bounds. During Barack Obama’s presidency, the U.S. bombed seven countries while supporting other destabilizing military actions throughout the Middle East.

Here’s a look at these seven countries and the effects of bombing. MPN reports:

Afghanistan – Despite the announced “end” of the Afghanistan War, significant U.S. military presence in Afghanistan remains. Drones are a frequent presence in Afghan skies. One strike earlier this month killed 12 people, according to Iran’s PressTV.

Iraq – The Obama administration has conducted over 5,000 airstrikes in Iraq and Syria in just the past year, David Lerman reported for Bloomberg Business. Despite ongoing U.S. military involvement, terrorism continues to be a deadly presence in Iraq’s cities.

Libya – While the European Union and its allies carried out many of the airstrikes during Libya’s civil war, the U.S. was instrumental in destabilizing that country through both military aid and direct support…

EPA Let Pollution Fester At 302 Sites For Years, Sometimes Decades – Daily Caller

People living near up to 302 highly-contaminated sites controlled by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have faced health hazards from pollution for years or sometimes decades, a Daily Caller News Foundation investigation has found.

Those sites are part of the EPA’s Superfund program, which is intended to clean the most dangerous and polluted places in America. But the agency has either been unable or unwilling to decontaminate many of the locations, allowing pollution to fester, a DCNF analysis of more than 1,300 active Superfund sites found.

Health hazards still either threaten humans or are unknown at 117 – or nearly one-quarter – of the 480 Superfund sites added before 1987, TheDCNF’s analysis found. Those locations have waited for more than 30 years for decontamination or an adequate analysis to determine risks.

“You’re not going to find a Superfund site where there weren’t feet dragging in the process,” Karen Gogins told TheDCNF. Gogins is a policy staffer with Citizens for a Health Bay, an advocacy group for the Commencement Bay Superfund site in Washington state, which was added when the program began in 1983.

Both the EPA and the site’s polluter – Occidental Chemical – have slowed cleanup progress, Logins noted.

“We’re starting to get to the cusp of things where decisions will be made,” she said. “We’re still looking at decades more work.”…

The Blue State Depression – Stephen Moore

People are leaving the Hillary-supporting states in droves

When I say the blue states are in a depression, I don’t mean the collective funk they are in because they lost the election to Donald Trump.

I’m talking about an economic depression in the blue states that went for Hillary. Here is an amazing statistic. Of the 10 blue states that Hillary Clinton won by the largest percentage margins – California, Massachusetts, Vermont, Hawaii, Maryland, New York, Illinois, Rhode Island, New Jersey, and Connecticut – every single one of them lost domestic migration (excluding immigration) over the last 10 years (2004-14). Nearly 2.75 million more Americans left California and New York than entered these states.

They are the loser states. They are all progressive. High taxes rates. High welfare benefits. Heavy regulation. Environmental extremism. Super minimum wages. Most outlaw energy drilling. The whole left-wing playbook is on display in the Hillary states. And people are leaving in droves. Day after day, they are being bled to death. So much for liberalism creating a worker’s paradise.

Now let’s look at the 10 states that had the largest percentage vote for Donald Trump. Everyone of them – Wyoming, West Virginia, Oklahoma, North Dakota, Kentucky, Tennessee, South Dakota, and Idaho – was a net population gainer.

This is part and parcel of one of the greatest internal migration waves in American history as blue states especially in the northeast are getting clobbered by their low tax, smaller government rivals in the south, southeast and mountain regions…

Washington Post: Rape Victims Offended By Virgin Mary’s Purity – Breitbart

This year the Left’s annual War on Christmas has taken a bizarre turn with a Washington Post op-ed claiming that the Virgin Mary’s purity is offensive to victims of rape.

In an article titled, “Our culture of purity celebrates the Virgin Mary. As a rape victim, that hurts me,” Ruth Everhart explains that especially in the Advent lead-up to Christmas, Mary becomes a problem for many Christians because of her pristine purity.

Mary “set an impossibly high bar,” Everhart writes. “Now the rest of us are stuck trying to be both a virgin and a mother at the same time.”

As a rape victim, this has been especially difficult for the author, she says, which led to her becoming a pastor, in order “to come to terms with Mary’s story.”

Everhart writes that she doesn’t blame her sense of ruin “entirely” on the Virgin Mary. In fact, it isn’t really Mary’s fault, she states; it’s the Church’s for manipulating Mary into a model of purity.

“Mary is not responsible for what we’ve done to her story,” she writes. “Church culture has overfocused on virginity and made it into an idol of sexual purity. When it comes to female experience, the church seems compelled to shrink and distort and manipulate.”

To some people, “vaginas are inherently dirty,” she states. “They can never be purified.”

“And isn’t that the definition of hopelessness? Does it bother you that half of the human population is condemned to hopelessness because their body parts can never be pure?” she asks rhetorically.

Never mind that you can attend a thousand Christian church services without ever hearing a sermon on purity…

The benefit was administered through Medicaid, the federal-state health insurance program for the needy and the astonishing multi-million-dollar figure applies to just Florida but similar atrocities are likely occurring in other states.

American taxpayers may wonder how this could possibly happen, though fraud and corruption are rampant in government, especially in welfare programs. First let’s explain how Medicaid, jointly funded by federal and state governments, functions. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) administers the program at the federal level. States must create CMS-approved plans to run their Medicaid programs, which provide low-income residents with medical coverage. In some states, such as Florida, the government contracts with insurance companies and makes fixed monthly payments to provide coverage. In Florida 37 insurance companies have contracts to provide coverage.

In this case, the government continued making payments to the insurance companies long after the beneficiaries had passed away. In other words, the government doled out huge sums to provide dead people with medical insurance for years. The astounding figures were made public recently in a report issued by the Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Inspector General, which blamed the outrageous waste on lack of collaboration between various state agencies and outdated information in databases…

Walmart Now Selling Domestic Terrorists’ Merchandise – Blue Lives Matter
.

.
The retail giant Walmart jumped on the Black Lives Matter train and has begun selling their branded apparel and other related items. The items range from ball caps, t-shirts and hoodies, to check planners.

On the heels of a tumultuous 2016 for the mega store, Walmart has made their agenda quite clear to its consumers. They have made no attempt to explain, excuse or rescind their partnership with the group that many would label as a terrorist organization. Reverend Jesse Lee Peterson, Bill O’Reilly, Rush Limbaugh and Sheriff David Clarke have all blasted Black Lives Matter for their obviously terrorist like behavior. Members of Black Lives Matter are even facing lawsuits for their hateful rhetoric, which many believe has incited violence against law enforcement…

China Steals U.S. Underwater Drone In South China Sea – Fox News

A Chinese Navy ship stole an American underwater research drone while a U.S. crew was watching, in a South China Sea area contested by the Chinese and the Philippines, U.S. defense officials told Fox News on Friday.

The incident occurred around noon Thursday local time approximately 40 miles west of the Philippines and about 150 miles from Scarborough Shoal. For days, the Chinese ship had been shadowing the American ship USNS Bowditch, which deployed the drone, a Slocum Glider.

“This is an act of war against the United States,” Gordon Chang, analyst and author of “The Coming Collapse of China,” told Fox News’ “Happening Now.” He said the move was an act of war because U.S. military property was stolen.

The research ship is owned by the U.S. Navy but operated by Military Sealift Command, with a crew of contracted civilian mariners and scientists.

The American crew watched the Chinese take the underwater drone from a short distance away. The Chinese Navy ship was only a quarter of a mile away, a defense official told Fox News.

The Chinese have been regularly shadowing U.S. Navy vessels in the South China Sea for months, Fox News was told. The Center for Strategic and International Studies, a Washington think tank, reported Wednesday that China apparently set up anti-aircraft guns and close-in weapons systems designed to guard against missile attacks on all seven of its man-made islands in the strategically vital area…

Coast Guard Reels In More Than 26 Tons Of Cocaine Worth More Than $2 Billion – Inside Edition
.

.
More than 26 tons of seized cocaine – worth more than $2 billion on the streets – was brought ashore in Florida Thursday in what officials are calling “one of the largest drug offloads” in history.

The flight deck of 418-foot Coast Guard Cutter Hamilton was covered in more than three dozen pallets of seized cocaine, offloaded in Port Everglades with a crane, as a result of a joint effort between the U.S. Coast Guard and the Royal Canadian Navy in the eastern Pacific over the last three months.

“Today we’ll be offloading 53,000 pounds. That’s equivalent to about 24,000 kilograms of cocaine […] with an estimated wholesale value of $715 million,” Vice Admiral Karl Schultz, Coast Guard commander in the Atlantic area, said in a Thursday press conference. “That’s probably equivalent to $2-plus billion on the streets of America.”…

9th Circus Court Of Schlemiels Backs California’s 10-Day Waiting Period For Gun Purchases – Washington Examiner

The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has upheld a California law requiring a 10-day waiting period for gun purchases.

Judge Mary M. Schroeder, an appointee of President Jimmy Carter, wrote the opinion of the three-person panel that reversed a federal trial court that found the 10-day “cooling off” period was unconstitutional.

“Because we agree with the state that the 10-day waiting period is a reasonable safety precaution for all purchasers of firearms and need not be suspended once a purchaser has been approved, we reverse the district court’s judgment,” Schroeder wrote. “We do not need to decide whether the regulation is sufficiently longstanding to be presumed lawful. Applying intermediate scrutiny analysis, we hold that the law does not violate the Second Amendment rights of these plaintiffs, because the 10-day wait is a reasonable precaution for the purchase of a second or third weapon, as well as for a first purchase.”

Schroeder also wrote that the 10-day waiting period would have a deterrent effect on crime because gun owners looking to buy additional firearms may be dissuaded not to.

“An individual who already owns a hunting rifle, for example, may want to purchase a larger capacity weapon that will do more damage when fired into a crowd,” Schroeder wrote. “A 10-day cooling-off period would serve to discourage such conduct and would impose no serious burden on the core Second Amendment right of defense of the home.”…

New York Times Hires Reporter Who Sent Stories To Clinton Staffers For Approval – Daily Caller
.

.
Politico’s Glenn Thrush, who was exposed in WikiLeaks emails sending stories to Hillary Clinton staffers before publication, will be joining the New York Times to cover the White House, The Huffington Post reported Monday.

“We’re thrilled that Glenn Thrush is joining The Times,” Elisabeth Bumiller, The New York Times’ Washington bureau chief, told The Huffington Post. “He’s a premier political journalist, a master of breaking news and long-form story telling and a stellar addition to our White House team.”

While Bumiller described Thrush as a “premier political journalist,” in one email to Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman John Podesta, Thrush chose to describe himself as a “hack.”

“No worries Because I have become a hack I will send u the whole section that pertains to u,” Thrush wrote to Podesta in an April 2015 email…

10 Ways The CIA’s ‘Russian Hacking’ Story Is Left-Wing ‘Fake News’ – Breitbart

On Monday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) pledged to support a congressional investigation into whether Russian hacking affected the 2016 election. Republicans have nothing to fear from such an investigation, because they won the election fair and square.

No, Russia is not the friend that President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton spent several years pretending it was. But the idea that Russian hackers coronated Trump is only the latest left-wing opiate – after white supremacists and “fake news” – designed to dull the pain of electoral defeat, and postpone the reckoning that must occur if Democrats are to pose a significant threat as an opposition party at any time in the near future.

Here are just ten of the reasons the “Russian hacking” story is a sham – a left-wing twist on the red-baiting McCarthyism of the 1950s.

1. There is actually no new information leading the CIA to its conclusion. The New York Times reports: “The C.I.A.’s conclusion does not appear to be the product of specific new intelligence obtained since the election, several American officials, including some who had read the agency’s briefing, said on Sunday. Rather, it was an analysis of what many believe is overwhelming circumstantial evidence – evidence that others feel does not support firm judgments – that the Russians put a thumb on the scale for Mr. Trump, and got their desired outcome.” In other words, someone only decided after Trump won that it the accusation was worth making.

2. The “evidence” that the CIA has gathered is inconclusive. The FBI also disagrees with some of the CIA’s conclusions about Russia’s motives. “While lawmakers were seemingly united on the need to present a strong bipartisan response, the FBI and CIA gave lawmakers differing accounts on Russia’s motives, according to The Post,” The Hill reported on Sunday…

Hillary Pleads To Dismiss Benghazi Lawsuit – WorldNetDaily
.

.
Lawyers for twice-failed Oval Office aspirant Hillary Clinton have asked a federal court in Washington, D.C., to dismiss a lawsuit over her statements as secretary of state about the Benghazi terror attack that left four Americans dead.

The plaintiffs are arguing the case should to go trial because she doesn’t deserve special treatment as a member of the “political elite.”

Clinton narrowly averted a default judgment in the case earlier when a judge adopted claims that she wasn’t properly served.

Then she argued in court filings that the case should be dismissed, claiming the plaintiffs, Patricia Smith, the mother of Sean Smith, and Charles Woods, the father of Tyrone Woods, haven’t properly claimed they were injured…

29 Killed, 166 Wounded In Twin Suicide Bomb Blasts Near Istanbul Soccer Stadium – USA Politics Today

Twin attacks by a suicide bomber and a car bomber near an Istanbul soccer stadium Saturday night killed 29 people and wounded 166 others in the latest large-scale assault to traumatize a nation confronting an array of security threats.

The bombs targeted police officers, killing 27 of them along with two civilians, Turkey’s Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu told reporters early Sunday. He added that 10 people had been arrested in connection with the “terrorist attack.”

The civilian death toll was lower because fans had already left the newly built Vodafone Arena Stadium after the soccer match when the blasts occurred. Witnesses also heard gunfire after the explosions.

“We have once again witnessed tonight in Istanbul the ugly face of terror which tramples on every value and decency,” Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in a statement.

The first bomb went off just outside the facility known popularly as Besiktas Stadium after the local team and neighborhood. The second blast that came moments later was attributed by authorities to a suicide bomber.

Police cordoned off the area as smoke rose from behind the stadium and ambulances began ferrying the wounded to hospitals. Glass from the blown-out windows of nearby buildings littered the pavement.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility. This year, Istanbul has witnessed a spate of attacks attributed by authorities to the Islamic State group or claimed by Kurdish militants…

Uncle Joe: Hillary Never Got The Chance To Speak To White, Middle Class Voters – American Mirror

A four-month general election – and the 12 months before that – wasn’t enough time to connect with white, middle-class voters, according to Joe Biden.

The vice president appeared on CNN on Sunday and faulted Hillary Clinton’s strategy and inability to connect and “respect” workers impacted by globalism.

He told Jake Tapper that he recognized the Democrats’ shift away from economic issues because, as he put it, “we got the car out of the ditch and onto the road and runnin’,” and therefore focused on other issues.

He said solutions to helping people who have been “left behind” wasn’t a “central part of the campaign going forward.”

Douchebag Heckles Kids At Texas Mall, Yells ‘Santa Claus Does Not Exist’ – Dallas Morning News

A Texas pastor went to a mall in Amarillo on Saturday and heckled a group of children and their parents waiting in line to meet Santa Claus, letting them know that they were really just going to meet a “man in a suit” and that Santa Claus does not exist.

The stunt at the Amarillo mall appears to be the latest in a string of similar acts by 56-year-old David Grisham, a leader of the religious fundamentalist group “Repent Amarillo,” whose mission is to “preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and wage spiritual warfare on the demonic realm,” according to its Facebook page.

He’s used similar aggressive preaching methods in the past. Grisham previously made headlines when he tried to start a boycott against the city of Houston after Annise Parker, an open lesbian, was elected mayor and an abortion clinic was built in the city.

He also tried to publicly burn a copy of the Quran in Sam Houston Park in Amarillo in 2010, but was foiled by a shirtless skateboarder named Jacob Isom, who swiped the Quran from him at the last moment and told him, “Dude, you have no Quran!”

Grisham never imagined himself as a street preacher, much less one who inspired so much animosity in people. In fact, he was an atheist for the majority of his life after his father died in a plane crash.

But then, in his early 40s, he reunited with his first love, Tracy, and things began to fall into place. He watched M. Night Shyamalan’s movie “Signs” and had an epiphany. Everything in his life was foretold…

Texas Muslim Pleads Guilty To Setting Fire To His Own Mosque – Breitbart
.

.
The Muslim charged with arson of his own mosque on Christmas Day 2015 has pleaded guilty to felony arson in a Harris County (Houston) district court and was sentenced to prison.

The charging instrument stated that Gary Nathaniel Moore started a fire with the intent to destroy and damage a place of worship – the Savoy Masjid Mosque in Houston. Moore said he attended the mosque every day up to five times a day for five years. The Houston Fire Department (HFD) responded to the fire about 2:47 p.m. on Christmas Day.

Breitbart News reported that “up in smoke is the DC Media’s hoped-for anti-GOP Narrative. Before any facts were known, numerous DC Media outlets immediately exploited the tragedy to place the blame on Donald Trump.” As reported by Breitbart Texas, Breitbart News accurately predicted that the DC media would lose interest in the story “Now that a devout Muslim has been charged.”…

The Democrats’ Nauseating Putin Hypocrisy – Roger L. Simon

The degree to which the Democrats have changed their tune on Vladimir Putin almost on a proverbial dime is either black comic or nauseating or both, depending on how you want to look at it. Whatever it is, it is a extremely obvious example of how party politics is conducted in our era (possibly always).

If your side does it, it’s diplomatic genius bound to yield peace in our time. If the other side does the exact same thing, it’s a horrendous mistake bordering on treason likely to cause a national calamity, if not global Armageddon.

If there were any decent, even semi-even-handed political science departments left in our country (okay, maybe there are one or two), what we might call the Democrats’ “Great Putin Flip Flop” would be a textbook case for classroom discussion.

Let’s start at the beginning, March 2009, but a few weeks after the first inauguration of Barack Obama, when a smiling Hillary Clinton presented Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov the red “reset” button, signaling the arrival of a supposed era of peace between the two countries. The new administration was greeted with hosannas for their great symbolism from their loyal claque at the New York Times, Washington Post, NBC, et al., who were oblivious, needless to say, that the word “peregruzka” printed in Cyrillic on the button, thought to mean “reset” in Russian by the linguistic geniuses in our State Department, was actually the word for “overload.”

No wonder Lavrov has such a quizzical look on his face in the all the photos…

Pennsylvania ‘Santa’ Pays Off Nearly $50,000 In Other People’s Layaway Items At Walmart – UPI

A “Secret Santa” helped nearly 200 shoppers at a Pennsylvania Walmart have a happy Christmas by paying off all of the store’s layaway items.

Ryan Kennedy, manager of the Walmart store in Everett, said he received a call from a mysterious person identified only as “Santa B” who offered to pay off all $46,265.59 worth of layaway items.

A few days after the initial call a woman delivered a check to the store and Kennedy began notifying the 194 customers with layaway accounts their balances had been paid.

“Some individuals were just brought to tears when they were notified about it,” Kennedy said…

Republican John Kennedy Wins Louisiana Runoff Election To Become Newest Member Of U.S. Senate – Breitbart

Republican John Kennedy has been declared the winner of Louisiana’s runoff election for the U.S. Senate, defeating Democrat Foster Campbell and thwarting one of the last opportunities in 2016 for Democrats to gain a seat in the upper chamber.

Kennedy’s win on Saturday night, the first GOP win since Trump’s election, gives Republicans a 52 seat majority in the U.S. Senate, making it that much harder for Democrats to make any headway in Washington.

The stakes were high enough for President-elect Donald Trump to campaign arm-in-arm with Kennedy at a rally last week in Baton Rouge.

Trump told voters how important it was to get Kennedy to Washington, noting that it is “really close” in the Senate. “We need John in Washington, not only for the vote, but for leadership and everything,” Trump said.

Days before Trump’s stop in Baton Rouge, Vice President-elect Mike Pence also hit the campaign trail for Kennedy.

Kennedy’s Democrat opponent, Foster Campbell, clearly felt Trump’s popularity in the Pelican State as he generally refrained from too many direct attacks on Trump during his campaign. Campbell even ran campaign ads promising he would work with Trump while also insisting he would have the “courage” to oppose him when necessary. But it wasn’t enough to stave off yet another GOP win for 2016.

Seeing Campbell’s campaign as a last ditch effort, Democrats and liberal advocacy groups poured money into the campaign, giving Campbell a one million-dollar campaign fund advantage over Kennedy…

Shocker: DC’s Transgender Cop Poster Child Turns Out To Be A Pervert – Daily Caller

A transgender police officer in Washington, D.C., who has repeatedly been praised as a community role model has also quietly been reprimanded for improper sexually-tinged antics with underage police interns.

In a story published Thursday night, NBC4 News profiled Jessica Hawkins as a police officer who “helps build trust in [the] D.C. community” due to his work on an LGBT outreach unit. Hawkins, who previously went by Billy, is biologically male but identifies as a woman, and publicly transitioned two years ago.

NBC4’s story is just the latest positive one about Hawkins, who has also been profiled by NPR, Metro Weekly and other outlets.

But a new report by local D.C. station Fox 5 shows another, more disturbing side of Hawkins that hasn’t appeared in profiles. According to the report, Hawkins has repeatedly landed in hot water because of his conduct around interns for D.C.’s police department.

“Sgt. Hawkins showed the interns a ‘homemade video of her having sex with 4 men while she was intoxicated,’” Fox’s report says. Another complain filed against Hawkins accused him of taking under-21 interns to an Arlington gay bar, where she helped them buy alcohol and laughed at one intern’s possession of a fake ID.

According to Fox, Hawkins has admitted that both complaints against him are accurate, and was quite cavalier in the admission. Hawkins even volunteered that he had shown other interns an inappropriate picture on his phone…

Army Beats Navy To End 14-Year Losing Streak In Series – ESPN

Army ended a 14-year run of frustration against the Midshipmen, using an overpowering running game and opportunistic defense to carve out a long overdue 21-17 victory Saturday.

With future commander in chief Donald Trump looking on, the Black Knights blew a 14-point lead before quarterback Ahmad Bradshaw scored on a 9-yard run with 6:42 left to give Army the win it had been waiting for since 2001.

The Black Knights’ 14-game losing streak was the longest by either academy in a series that began in 1890. Army (7-5) now trails 60-50-7 in one of the nation’s historic rivalries…

Republicans Cruz And Desantis To Push Constitutional Amendment Imposing Term Limits On Congress – BizPac Review

Now that Republicans have control of the executive branch, both houses of Congress and the majority of the states, Sens. Ted Cruz and Ron Desantis think they can now get term limits implemented for senators and congressmen.

In an op-ed for The Washington Post the two senators said that creating a Constitutional amendment to limit the terms of congressmen and senators would prove Congress “has actually heard the voice of the people” to “drain the swamp.”

“Though our Founding Fathers declined to include term limits in the Constitution, they feared the creation of a permanent political class that existed parallel to, rather than enmeshed within, American society. As Benjamin Franklin said, ‘In free governments, the rulers are the servants, and the people their superiors… For the former therefore to return among the latter was not to degrade but to promote them,’” they wrote.

The Amendment would limit senators to two terms and congressmen to three.

The senators pointed out that a Rasmussen poll showed 74 percent of Americans support the idea of term limits for Congress and that Trump mentioned imposing them when he campaigned for the presidency.

“The time is now for Congress, with the overwhelming support of the American people, to pass a constitutional amendment establishing congressional term limits and send it to the states for speedy ratification,” the senators wrote…

Trump Picks Exxon CEO Rex Tillerson As Secretary Of State – Zero Hedge
.

.
In a move that is certain to infuriate those who see Trump as nothing more than a puppet of the Kremlin, moments ago NBC reported that Rex Tillerson, CEO of Exxon Mobil and late entrant into the SecState race after his first meeting with the president elect this past Tuesday at the Trump Tower, has been picked by Trump to serve as his next Secretary of State.

As NBC adds, Tillerson met Saturday with Trump at Trump Tower in New York, the president-elect’s spokesperson confirmed. The selection of Tillerson comes after Trump and his transition team spent weeks searching for someone to fill the post of the top U.S. diplomat. Former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani were reportedly in the running. Giuliani said Friday he had taken his name out of consideration.

The 64-year-old Texas oilman, whose friends describe as a staunch conservative, emerged as a Secretary of State contender only last week following a meeting with Trump, when it was speculated that he would consider the offer “due to his sense of patriotic duty and because he is set to retire from the company next year.”…

Trump Chooses Ben Carson For Housing Secretary – Breitbart

President-elect Donald Trump has chosen former Campaign 2016 rival Ben Carson to become secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Trump’s decision, announced early Monday by his transition office, comes as the real estate mogul continues a series of interviews, meetings with aides and other deliberations aimed at forming his administration.

In a statement, Trump says he’s “thrilled to nominate” Carson, saying he “has a brilliant mind and is passionate about strengthening communities and families within those communities.”

Carson has been coy about joining the new administration, saying shortly after Trump’s election victory that he wasn’t certain he’d fit into a Cabinet-style role. The discussion at that time centered on speculation that Carson might be selected to head the sprawling Department of Health and Human Services…

President Asshat Blocks Dakota Access Pipeline, But Protesters Aren’t Leaving – CNS

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said Sunday that it won’t grant an easement for the Dakota Access oil pipeline in southern North Dakota, handing a victory to the Standing Rock Sioux tribe and its supporters, who argued the project would threaten the tribe’s water source and cultural sites.

North Dakota’s leaders criticized the decision, with Gov. Jack Dalrymple calling it a “serious mistake” that “prolongs the dangerous situation” of having several hundred protesters who are camped out on federal land during cold, wintry weather. U.S. Rep. Kevin Cramer said it’s a “very chilling signal” for the future of infrastructure in the United States.

The four-state, $3.8 billion project is largely complete except for the now-blocked segment underneath Lake Oahe, a Missouri River reservoir. Assistant Secretary for Civil Works Jo-Ellen Darcy said in a news release that her decision was based on the need to “explore alternate routes” for the pipeline’s crossing. Her full decision doesn’t rule out that it could cross under the reservoir or north of Bismarck.

“Although we have had continuing discussion and exchanges of new information with the Standing Rock Sioux and Dakota Access, it’s clear that there’s more work to do,” Darcy said. “The best way to complete that work responsibly and expeditiously is to explore alternate routes for the pipeline crossing.”

The company constructing the pipeline, Dallas-based Energy Transfer Partners, released a statement Sunday night slamming the decision as politically motivated and alleging that President Obama’s administration was determined to delay the matter until he leaves office…

U.S. Health Care Spending Up 5.8% To $3.2 Trillion; $9,990 Per Person – CNS

The nation’s health care tab grew at the fastest rate in eight years in 2015, driven by the coverage expansion in President Barack Obama’s law and by costly prescription drugs, the government said Friday.

The growth of 5.8 percent in 2015 boosted total health care spending to $3.2 trillion. That’s an average of $9,990 per person, although the vast share of that money is spent caring for the sickest patients.

Health spending grew about 2 percentage points faster than the overall economy in 2015, said the report from nonpartisan economic experts at the Department of Health and Human Services. That’s a problem because it makes it harder for government programs, employers, and individuals to afford the level of health care that Americans are used to having.

The report was disappointing news for the outgoing Obama administration, which had enjoyed a long stretch of historically low increases in health care spending, and had sought to credit its 2010 health care overhaul for taming costs. It’s a reality check for President-elect Donald Trump, who did not focus much on health care during his campaign and implied that problems could be easily fixed.

America has struggled for decades to balance health care cost, access, and quality. Obama’s law made significant strides to expand access, and the report found nearly 91 percent of U.S. residents now have coverage. But the problem of costs has re-emerged. That’s partly because people with health insurance use more medical care than the uninsured, who tend to postpone going to the doctor. Some of the newly insured turned out to be sicker than those who were already covered…

Obama Loses Another Ally As Italian Prime Minister Resigns After Referendum Loss – Washington Times
.

.
Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, one of President Obama’s closest partners in Europe, announced his resignation Sunday after voters rejected proposed political reforms in a referendum influenced by anti-establishment attitudes also on the rise in other countries.

The vote was intended by Mr. Renzi to revise Italy’s Constitution and reduce the size of its Senate to streamline the government and consolidate the prime minister’s power. But the balloting instead became a referendum on Mr. Renzi himself, with voters expressing some of the same anti-establishment dissatisfaction that has surfaced from the United Kingdom to the U.S. this year.

Exit polls in Italy showed the referendum losing by roughly 55 percent against 41 percent in favor. The euro hit a 20-month low on the results.

“I have lost and I say it out loud,” Mr. Renzi told a news conference, adding that he would submit his resignation on Monday…

Hillary Supporter Bashes Elferly Woman Over The Head With A Chair During ‘Election Argument’ – American Mirror

A Hillary Clinton supporter is apparently still sore over the election results, and police say he hit an elderly woman over the head with a chair during an argument about it.

Donora, Pennsylvania police say 27-year-old Matthew Pugh was having an “election argument” with a fellow resident of the Donora Towers high-rise apartment complex when he “reportedly became enraged,” the Observer-Reporter reports.

“He allegedly picked up a chair and hit the woman over the head, knocking her to the floor,” according to the paper.

The chair gashed the woman on the head and she “bled severely.” She suffered other injuries during the fall and was taken to the hospital for emergency medical treatment.

According to police, Pugh left the scene, but was apprehended a short time later.

Donora police say Pugh is a Hillary Clinton supporter and was triggered when “the woman apparently made a comment either against Clinton or in support of Trump,” Donora police Officer Keith Charlton tells the paper.

The Herald Standard newspaper identifies the victim as 69-year-old Maureen Zubrick.

“Both Zubrick and Pugh took a side on the recent presidential election,” Charlton wrote in an affidavit.

Pugh was held on “attempted homicide” charges, as well as aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.

He was arraigned on November 30 for the alleged November 20 attack and is currently housed in the Washington County Correctional Facility in lieu of a $50,000 bond…

Federal Government Pays $860 Million To Defense Contractors Just To Exist – Daily Caller

The U.S. Air Force is now paying $860 million dollars to United Launch Alliance (ULA), a joint venture between Lockheed Martin and Boeing, just so that it can keep existing.

The Air Force awarded ULA the money as a “sustainment fee.” The fee isn’t for any actual space launches but rather requires that the company will make itself available to conduct launches. In exchange for the cash, ULA will be required to maintain the capacity to launch a rocket into space and maintain the various bases and infrastructure necessary to do so. The money is expected to be spent by late September of 2017.

ULA was awarded the cash because the company is now facing stiff competition. ULA had almost cornered the market for national security-related rocket launches until last year, when SpaceX won U.S. Air Force certification for national security space missions.

“The U.S. Air Force uses two contracts to launch satellites,” Jessica Rye, a spokeswoman for ULA, told The Daily Caller News Foundation. “One to build the rocket and one to launch the rocket. The EELV Launch Capability (ELC) contract launches the rocket. ELC is not a sustainment fee. It is a contract structure developed by the Air Force to allow for the flexibility needed at that time in the program history… Without ELC, most of our nation’s national security satellites would have no access to space.”

The company collects an additional $5 billion in other spending from the Air Force for rocket hardware, according to the Government Accountability Office. Additionally, ULA gets $366 million dollars for most rocket launches…

Donald Trump, Philippines’ Duterte Speak For First Time In ‘Animated’ Phone Call – Breitbart
.

.
President-elect Donald Trump has invited his Philippine counterpart Rodrigo Duterte to the White house in a phone conversation Friday that one Duterte aid described as “animated.”

The call was the first one-on-one exchange between the two leaders.

While there is at press time no word on the details of the call, presidential aid Christopher Bong Go posted a photo of Duterte speaking to Trump on his Facebook page.

Philippine Foreign Affairs Secretary Perfecto Yasay confirmed that the two would be speaking “within the next few days” in a conversation on Philippine television earlier this week. He did not specify what the two leaders would discuss, only noting, “We are really harping on fundamental changes [that are worthy] so we can be able to pursue our independent foreign policy.”…

New York City Man Who Lost His Sight Almost 20 Years Ago Regains Vision – Breitbart

A New York City man who went blind in 1997 has regained most of his sight, a phenomenon his doctors are struggling to explain.

Kevin Coughlin, 55, of Manhattan, was blinded by optic nerve disease when he was 36, CBS New York reported.

“I literally saw a very thick, impenetrable fog,” Coughlin told 1010 WINS’ John Montone.

Coughlin remained blind until he started seeing shadows in August 2013.

“In August of 2013 I saw a reflection of light on my medicine cabinet mirror after not seeing anything for 16 years,” Coughlin said.

Coughlin then saw the face of Elias, a black lab who was his guide dog at the time.

“I’m seeing more and more, and Elias hasn’t had his harness on for a year and a half,” Coughlin said.

Coughlin said he used to be self-conscious walking his dog through the streets, but now, he walks his dog with confidence.

“When I walked when I was blind I had this very tentative very self conscious gait, and now I have an expansive swagger,” Coughlin said. “Just seeing all the buildings that have been put up in the last 20 years, seeing the restoration of Grand Central Station is incredible.”

Coughlin has regained 70 percent of his vision, and he says it is improving every day. He credits prayer, meditation, and a diet rich with antioxidants, such as spinach, broccoli, and red kidney beans for his regained vision, according to WPIX.

Although he is happy to have regained his sight, he said losing his sight opened his eyes to the suffering of others…

Leverage Maneuver: Trump Talks Openly With Taiwan’s President – Conservative Treehouse
.

.
Ok, this one strategic maneuver has just pegged my too-much-winning needle on max overdrive. Donald Trump took a congratulatory phone call from the President of Taiwan, and now the Chinese will be apoplectic.

Those of you who have been with us for a while, will note our arguments against China’s MFN (Most Favored Nation) trade status have continually fallen on deaf ears within DC. Why? Because they are political ears paid to remain necessarily deaf, while various Chinese national interests have taken influence over our legislative priorities on trade and commerce.

In short, we’ve been ripped off. Bigly. For decades.

Rule #1 in any trade deal is to fully understand who is the customer within the equation…

Massive Voter Fraud Uncovered In Nevada – Truthfeed

Before election day, Nevada, specifically Las Vegas, was a hotbed for voter fraud, with Hillary’s camp busted committing a slew of election crimes on video.

Megan Barth, a reporter from Newsmaxtv.vegas, interviewed GOP Assembly candidate Stan Vaughn, who has hard proof of Nevada voter fraud.

Wonder if Jill Stein and Hillary Clinton will be requesting a recount?

I wouldn’t hold my breath.

From NewsmaxTV.vegas:

Today, Megan Barth interviewed Republican Assembly Candidate for District 15, Stan Vaughan, with actual proof of massive voter fraud in his Clark County district. Vaughan brought into the NEWSMAXTV Las Vegas studio and laid it out for all to see, US postal service certified returned mail from 9,200 voters in District 15. Many of the people who were listed as deceased are still on the active voter rolls today. Many of the returned mail came back with 5 people living in a vacant lot with no mail receptacle.

Edward Snowden, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and dozens of movie stars were registered to vote in District 15 according to Mr. Vaughan. Mr. Vaughan tested a sample of 200 people of the 9,200 return mail and found that 185 of those had indeed voted.

Mr. Vaughan and many others have testified that they went to the polls to vote only to be told they had voted already. They were given a provisional ballots which would only be counted if the total vote count was within 1% according to poll supervisors…

Leftist Pervert Anthony Weiner Fined $65,000 For Campaign Finance Violations – The Hill
.

.
Former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) has been fined nearly $65,000 for repeatedly violating campaign finance law in his failed 2013 bid to become mayor of New York City, according to a Thursday report.

New York’s Campaign Finance Board (CFB) voted unanimously to punish Weiner’s campaign to the tune of $64,956 for 10 different violations of campaign finance law, the New York Daily News said.

Weiner was then dinged $22,031 for failing to demonstrate that the expenses furthered his campaign.

Weiner’s suspect spending included $26,000 to the Esler Group, $56,201 to individuals whose duties were not properly documented and $600 for buying TVs…

Americans Not In Labor Force Soar To Record 95.1 Million: Jump By 446,000 In One Month – Zero Hedge

So much for that much anticipated rebound in the participation rate.

After it had managed to post a modest increase in the early part of the year, hitting the highest level in one year in March at 63%, the disenchantment with working has returned, and the labor force participation rate had flatlined for the next few month, ultimately dropping in November to 62.7%, just shy of its 35 year low of 62.4% hit last October.

This can be seen in the surge of Americans who are no longer in the labor force, who spiked by 446,000 in November, hitting an all time high of 95.1 million.

As a result of this the US labor force shrank by 226,000 to 159,486K, down from 159,712K a month ago, and helped the unemployment rate tumble to 4.6%, the lowest level since August 2007.

Adding the number of unemployed workers to the people not in the labor force, there are now over 102.5 million Americans who are either unemployment or no longer looking for work…
