The ignorance is shocking… or perhaps it’s a Freudian slip, and she’d like to stop people from doing it.
Actor James Woods is no shrinking violet when it comes to politics.
Although he has only 144,000 followers on Twitter (compared to 53 million for Justin Bieber), Woods regales his tweepsters with wonderful links to heady topics – and a few choice opinions.
Like Saturday, when he posted this tweet: “Pelosi may actually be mentally ill. Her behavior is becoming unhinged. This is no laughing matter.” He linked to this Fox News story.
A heated debate late Friday over security at the southern U.S. border led to a rancorous confrontation on the House floor between House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Rep. Tom Marino, R-Pa.
The dustup began when Marino accused Democrats of neglecting the immigration issue when they controlled the White House and Congress in 2009 and 2010, when Pelosi was House speaker, saying that the party is now exploiting the issue for political gains.
‘Under the leadership of the former speaker… in 2009 and 2010, they had the House, the Senate and the White House, and they knew this problem existed,’ Marino said. ‘They didn’t have the strength to go after it back then. But now are trying to make a political issue out of it now.’
Soon after he made the remarks, Pelosi, in full view of House cameras, walked across the chamber to the GOP side of the aisle – a rarity in the House – to challenge Marino.
It was not clear what Pelosi said, but Marino responded immediately.
‘It’s true, madam leader, I did the research on it,’ Marino said. ‘You might want to try it. You might want to try it, madam leader. Do the research on it. Do the research. I did it. That’s one thing that you don’t do.’
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) says the United States must look to Qatar, an ally of the terrorist group Hamas, for advice in resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
“And we have to confer with the Qataris, who have told me over and over again that Hamas is a humanitarian organization,” she told CNN’s “State of the Union” with Candy Crowley.
As CNSNews.com reported last week, Qatar is a strong supporter and funder of Hamas. Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal operates from Qatar, and has so far rejected ceasefire proposals put forward by Egypt and promoted by Secretary of State John Kerry.
The U.S government designated Hamas as a “foreign terrorist organization” in 1997. Its founding charter calls for Jews to be killed and says all Muslims are duty-bound to join a jihad to destroy Israel.
In an interview aired on CBS’s “Face the Nation” Sunday, Hamas leader Meshaal said Hamas does not fight the Jews just because they are Jews. “We fight the occupiers,” he said. Asked if he wants to recognize Israel as a Jewish state, Meshaal said “No.”
“War is a deadly thing,” Pelosi said on Sunday, speaking about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
“And I have many Palestinians who live in my district, and I am hearing them regularly about how their families are affected who live in the region. It’s a terrible thing. But let me just say that any missile that comes from someplace has a return address. And if Israel is responding to that address, then that’s a shame that the Palestinians are… rumored to be using children and families as shields for their missiles.”
Pelosi said the first thing to do is to “avoid conflict” that “Hamas initiated.”
“[T]his has to be something where we try to have the two-state solution, that we have to support… (Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud) Abbas and his role as a leader there. We have to support Iron Dome to protect the Israelis from the missiles. We have to support the Palestinians and what they need. And we have to confer with the Qataris, who have told me over and over again that Hamas is a humanitarian organization, maybe they could use their influence to -”
Crowley interrupted her to ask: “The U.S. thinks they’re a terrorist organization though, correct? Do you?”
Pelosi responded: “Mmm hmm.”
Crowley said: “Yeah.”
And Pelosi said: “And we’ve had that discussion.”
‘Obama’s leadership has been strong’; Putin ‘is insecure’
In that same interview with CNN, Pelosi defended President Barack Obama’s “strong” leadership, dismissing a suggestion that Russian President Vladimir Putin considers him to be weak.
Compared with Cold War days, “It’s a much more complicated situation now, and the president’s leadership has been strong,” Pelosi told Crowley, pointing to Obama’s support for Israel’s Iron Dome missile shield; his request for humanitarian assistance for the Palestinian people; and his sanctions on Russia.
“Putin is going to do what Putin is going to do,” she said. “Some of what we see comes from insecurity. Putin, for all of his – is insecure about Russia’s role in the world now.”
Pelosi noted that the Obama administration was early in saying that the rockets used to shoot down a Malaysian airliner over Ukraine “had a provenance in Russia.”
“So nobody is missing in action in all of this.”
“And as far as Putin is concerned, he’s a KGB guy who happens to be the president of Russia and he’s going to do what he’s going to do no matter who else is in charge any other place in the world. So, I would not judge his actions or his motivations by anything other than he is rooted in the KGB, insecure about Russia’s diminished role in the world.”
The Gateway Pundit has it right, she is a horrible woman
What a horrible woman.
This is all they got, folks.
Their policies don’t work so they’ve resorted to racist attacks and lies.
Pelosi lied again and accused the Republicans of not passing immigration reform because of racism.
“I think race has something to do with the fact that they’re not bringing up an immigration bill. I’ve heard them say to the Irish if it were just you this would be easy.”
When did she hear this?
Who said this?
Did it not occur to any of the reporters in this room to follow up on her outrageous comments?
Instead, the lapdog media sat on their hands again and allowed this horrible woman to lie and slander the Republicans with another vile racist attack!
Of course no one challenged her, the media is pathetic.
During Barack Obama’s meeting with Pope Francis in the Vatican last week, the pope presented the president with a blessed rosary. Tuesday, Obama gave the rosary to Nancy Pelosi.
As noted by Life Site News, Pelosi is the only person in history to receive a papal sacrament and Planned Parenthood’s highest award – in the same week.
“I was happy to receive a rosary blessed by Pope Francis. It means a great deal to me,” Pelosi said.
Not everyone is as happy as is Pelosi. Adam Cassandra, communications manager at Human Life International, told LifeSiteNews:
“People could see it as somewhat disrespectful on the part of the president that he re-gifted the rosary given to him by the Holy Father,” especially to someone “who has been harshly criticized by the Vatican for championing the mortal sin of abortion in opposition to Catholic teaching.”
The level of irony here is startling. Again, in the exact same week, Nancy Pelosi was given a rosary from Barack Obama that was blessed by Pope Francis, and also received the highest honor from Planned Parenthood, the Margaret Sanger award. Why such irony?
Pelosi, who professes a deep Catholic faith, has been an outspoken opponent of the Church on the issue of abortion, and she just won an award whose namesake said such things as:
[We should] apply a stern and rigid policy of sterilization and segregation to that grade of population whose progeny is tainted, or whose inheritance is such that objectionable traits may be transmitted to offspring. Birth control must lead ultimately to a cleaner race.
We should hire three or four colored ministers, preferably with social-service backgrounds, and with engaging personalities.
The most successful educational approach to the Negro is through a religious appeal. We don’t want the word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population, and the minister is the man who can straighten out that idea if it ever occurs to any of their more rebellious members.
The most merciful thing that the large family does to one of its infant members is to kill it.
Last September, Vatican Chief Justice Cardinal Raymond Burke said that Pelosi must be denied communion under the law of the Catholic Church because of her longstanding support for abortion.
Were I a cynic, I’d suggest that perhaps Obama understood the irony full well, which would’ve been all the more reason to give the rosary to Pelosi.
We KNOW what medical science has to say about whether or not an unborn baby is a living human being. Yet the Left rejects that science. Maybe we ought to call them life-deniers?
At Planned Parenthood’s annual gala last night, attendees and your PULSEr stopped laughing at comedian and emcee Tig Notaro just long enough to watch Nancy Pelosi receive the Margaret Sanger award for her work defending abortion rights. In her acceptance speech, Pelosi slammed abortion opponents, especially criticized the “personhood” laws some of them are pushing and said the struggle for reproductive rights will continue whatever SCOTUS decides on the contraception mandate.
“When you see how closed their minds are or oblivious or whatever it is — dumb — then you know what the fight is about,” Pelosi said. “Whatever happens with the court…we must remember these battles will not be the end of the fight,” she added.
Margaret Sanger was evil, that is historical fact. I wonder if Pelosi thinks like Sanger did. Or if she is ignorant of Sanger’s evil ways. Or maybe Pelosi thinks she has to receive the award to see who it is named for?
This years Margaret Sanger Award goes to… Nancy Pelosi.
The former Speaker of the House is set to receive the award which is given out annually as a top honor by Planned Parenthood.
The award is named after Margaret Sanger, the Planned Parenthood founder and proponent of eugenics, including the forced sterilization and abortions of minorities.
Donald Douglas has more on Margaret Sanger and the eugenics movement.
At Twitchy, “Nancy Pelosi presented with Margaret Sanger Award.”

Seriously, this is an award that no one in their right mind would want to accept. If you haven’t yet, do yourself a favor and pick up Rober Zubrin’s, Merchants of Despair: Radical Environmentalists, Criminal Pseudo-Scientists, and the Fatal Cult of Antihumanism. You will literally cringe at the depravity of Margaret Sanger’s racist eliminationism, which is situated today smack dab in the middle of the Democrat Party left.
Again I ask of Democrats. Why are you still supporting the party of moral depravity and barbarism?
We had to pass the law………..
Wait till those employer provided plans start getting 86ed next year. Then the real caca hits the fan
One of the things you may have noticed in the past couple of weeks is that some liberal pundits are claiming that ObamaCare is essentially a public relations problem: The program is just wonderful, but there have been some P.R. problems with the rollout.
Democrats need to learn that denial is not the name of a river in Egypt:
Democratic leaders claim the bungled launch of Obamacare is just the latest news sensation — a media-stirred tempest that looks in the heat of the moment like it could upend the midterm election, but ends up fizzling well before voters head to the polls.
Some party strategists say they’re in denial.
And that perceived gap between party spin and facts on the ground is fueling worries that the White House and Democratic higher-ups aren’t taking the possible electoral blowback seriously enough or doing enough to shield their candidates. Democratic contenders in the toughest races are distinctly less convinced that Obamacare will fade as an election-year issue — and they can’t afford to just cross their fingers that things get ironed out or that Republicans revert to political hara-kiri.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said at a forum hosted by BuzzFeed recently that the rollout won’t “hurt us in 2014,” adding that “we’re proud” of the law. Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, in a recent appearance on CNN, went so far as to assert that Obamacare would be “an advantage” for Democratic candidates next year.
“Democrats will run on the Affordable Care Act and win,” she has also told reporters.
The White House, meanwhile, has come across as equally dismissive of Obamacare’s consequences for 2014.
And the worst news of all came out today in a CNN Poll
And speaking of complete meltdown . . .
We are starting to see a broad polling trend for Barack Obama, and it should have the White House worried — but maybe Obama’s fellow Democrats in Congress even more. The latest CNN poll confirms what the Washington Post/ABC poll first noticed, and what the CBS poll corroborated — Obama’s approval decline involves more than just his performance. The Americans public is souring on Obama as a person and as a brand, and that spells real trouble for his agenda . . . .
President Obama will not be on the ballot in 2014 or 2016, but the American people will be angry with him, and guess who else? His fellow Democrats, and likely any nominee the Democrats put forward in 2016. They will take the losses, and then the only question is will the GOP use enough common sense to reap the electoral benefits?
Nancy Pelosi isn’t going anywhere.
While many thought the California Democrat would step down as House minority leader after this Congress, Pelosi confidants now believe she will remain atop House leadership through 2016 and maybe even longer.
Pelosi herself won’t tip her hand about her plans. But she doesn’t appear to be contemplating retirement.
“I’m not here on a shift. I’m here on a mission — and when my work is done, that’s when I will leave,” Pelosi said in a recent interview with POLITICO.
A mission she says. Hmmm, seems that mission is to pad her riches, and destroy what is left of our Constitution.
You would be right! He wants to cause as much pain for the people, believing they will blame the GOP. This is all about one thing the 2014 mid-term elections, and Obama really digs using the word ransom apparently
This is getting so old. House Republicans came up with yet another proposal to fund the government and avoid hitting the debt ceiling. Guy Benson noted that the plan Harry Reid called “extreme” in a diatribe on the Senate floor, is very close to the Senate plan. But Democrats can’t agree to it, because then they couldn’t go out and accuse the Republicans of being partisan. The White House rejected the proposal before Nancy Pelosi could even get her face in front of a microphone.
An hour earlier rank-and-file Republicans came out of the meeting to say their leaders had proposed taking a plan being worked on in the Senate and attaching the two Obamacare changes, and were going to put that bill on the House floor later Tuesday.
But by 11 a.m., Mr. Boehner and his chief lieutenants sounded much less certain, and several Republicans said it would be a close vote if the bill were brought to the floor.
Democratic leaders said not to count on them for help in getting the bill through the House, and the White House also rejected the plan, saying it preferred the Senate’s negotiations.
That deal, still under construction, doesn’t make any major dents in the president’s health law.
The White House released a statement that includes the word “ransom,” of course.
Yes, of course!
Privacy? What privacy? Maybe THIS is what Obama meant by transparency?
‘Are you sexually active? If so, with one partner, multiple partners or same-sex partners?”
Be ready to answer those questions and more the next time you go to the doctor, whether it’s the dermatologist or the cardiologist and no matter if the questions are unrelated to why you’re seeking medical help. And you can thank the Obama health law.
“This is nasty business,” says New York cardiologist Dr. Adam Budzikowski. He called the sex questions “insensitive, stupid and very intrusive.” He couldn’t think of an occasion when a cardiologist would need such information — but he knows he’ll be pushed to ask for it.
The president’s “reforms” aim to turn doctors into government agents, pressuring them financially to ask questions they consider inappropriate and unnecessary, and to violate their Hippocratic Oath to keep patients’ records confidential.
Embarrassing though it may be, you confide things to a doctor you wouldn’t tell anyone else. But this is entirely different.
Doctors and hospitals who don’t comply with the federal government’s electronic-health-records requirements forgo incentive payments now; starting in 2015, they’ll face financial penalties from Medicare and Medicaid. The Department of Health and Human Services has already paid out over $12.7 billion for these incentives.
Dr. Richard Amerling, a nephrologist and associate professor at Albert Einstein Medical College, explains that your medical record should be “a story created by you and your doctor solely for your treatment and benefit.” But the new requirements are turning it “into an interrogation, and the data will not be confidential.”
Oh I expect there are many new rules hidden in this bill. We did have to pass it before we read it right Nancy Pelosi?
Personally, I plan to “pad my stats” a bit. If asked that question, I will say something like. “Yeah, MULTIPLE partners doc! Hell, five Hooters girls tied me up and had their way with me last night.” Of course that will be a lie, but a guy can dream right?
Nancy Pelosi scolding other Liberals? Actually holding them to some type of standards.
House Democrats will hold a hearing next week to weigh in on the controversy swirling around the recent verdict in the George Zimmerman trial.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., announced “A Conversation on Race and Justice” on July 30 on Capitol Hill.
According to a Pelosi aide, the hearing will not focus solely on the trial, which acquitted Zimmerman of murder charges in the shooting death of Florida teenager Trayvon Martin, but will be a “broader conversation.”
Pelosi will preside over the hearing, which will include Democrats from the party’s Steering and Policy Committee.
The scheduled panelists are Southern Poverty Law Center founder Morris Dees, Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson and civil rights lawyer Maya Wiley, president of the Center for Social Inclusion.
Yep! The usual assortment of race-obsessed Leftists will bash America, Conservatives, gun owners and of course Whitey! Just another gimmick to keep Black Americans bitter and angry and voting Democrat. The sooner Blacks reject this type of nonsense, they better off they will be.
You just never know when their heads will start spinning and spewing out complete nonsense.
Considering that the federal government is spending over $3.5 trillion per year, that it is running yearly deficits of well over $1 trillion, that the national debt is over $16.5 trillion despite government revenues steadily climbing, that unfunded liabilities will run us an estimated $86.8 trillion, and that the entire gross domestic product is about $15.5 trillion, would you say the irresponsible and/or deliberately destructive socialist looters steering this Titanic at a giant iceberg of insolvency have a spending problem? Nancy Pelosi wouldn’t:
“We have to recognize that, which cuts really help us and which cuts hurt our future? And cuts in education [i.e., payoffs to teachers unions], scientific research [i.e., useless green energy boondoggles like Solyndra] and the rest are harmful, and they are what are affected by the sequestration,” she said on “Fox News Sunday.” “So, it is almost a false argument to say we have a spending problem. We have a budget deficit problem that we have to address.”
House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-MD) doesn’t see one either. When asked if the country has a spending problem, he replied:
“The country has a paying for problem.”
Good Freaking grief! What else can we say except FACEPALM!
I once wrote that Democrats are the single worst enemy of working Americans. Sad to say, I hate being right sometimes.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi famously said of Obamacare: “We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what’s in it.“
Nearly three years later, many Americans are beginning to discover what’s in it.
Taco Bell employees in Oklahoma City, Okla., found out.
Wendy’s employees in Obama, Neb., found out.
And now many other low-wage workers (and their relatives) are finding out, too.
Add to this increasing health insurance premiums, and you REALLY get an idea of how disastrous this bill will be when it takes full effect. Which reminds me of something I need to say. Fuck You Chief
Justice Useful Idiot John Roberts
When Republicans took back control of the House in 2010 they were able to push back the default ban on incandescent light bulbs, but it was too little too late. Soon you won’t be able to buy them.
The free market operates by offering incentives to consumers to change their behavior. Cutting prices, advertising and developing new products redirect the public’s impulses in a natural, painless way. The government, on the other hand, has no passion or patience for this sort of thing.
Words like “must,” “shall,” and “mandate” pepper the texts of laws like Obamacare. The incandescent light-bulb ban, which goes into effect in March, is another case in point. The bulbs aren’t officially banned, just artificially obsolete. As part of the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007, Congress mandated that light bulbs have 25 percent greater efficiency, phased in starting in 2012 and continuing until 2014. The law also includes a slew of mandates on appliances and energy use in federal buildings.
A 310-page masterpiece of micromanagement, the law was promoted heavily by then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, San Francisco Democrat, and signed by President George W. Bush. The bill was driven by a consortium of manufacturers that stand to profit from forcing people to buy more expensive bulbs and fixtures, plus the environmental lobby, which likes to pretend government regulations can lower the planet’s temperature.
Alarmed at the prospect of being forced by law to purchase expensive, squiggly compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs instead of cheap, warm incandescent bulbs, Americans complained loudly. In the face of a popular revolt, Congress pushed the start date back to October 2012 and defunded enforcement of efficiency standards as part of the 2012 and 2013 appropriations bills.
However, seeing the writing on the wall, manufacturers began phasing out incandescents. The last major General Electric factory that made them closed in Winchester, Va., in September 2010, putting 200 people out of work. One hundred-watt bulbs are already gone in some stores. (Read More)
This is just a small example of what happens when we elect buffoons who think they know better than us, or the free market, or the Founders.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said on Friday that Congress should hand over to President Barack Obama the power to unilaterally increase the limit on the U.S. government’s debt.
In effect, under the plan Pelosi is endorsing, the only limit on the national debt would be President Obama’s willingness to borrow money in the name of American taxpayers.
At a Friday press conference, a reporter asked Pelosi if she agreed with a proposal made by Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner that Congress give Obama the power to unilaterally increase the debt limit.
“Yes,” she said.
The Constitution expressly gives the power to borrow money to Congress – not the president. Article 1, Section 8, Clause 2 says: “Congress shall have power… To borrow money on the credit of the United States.”
When he met with members of Congress on Thursday to discuss a deal to avoid the so-called fiscal cliff that is set to occur at the end of this year, Secretary Geithner suggested that Congress give Obama the personal power as president to lift the legal limit on the federal government’s debt.
In keeping with its constitutional power to borrow money on the credit of the United States, Congress periodically enacts legislation authorizing the president, through the Treasury, to borrow money up to a certain set limit. Pursuant to a deal negotiated by Obama and House Speaker John Boehner in August 2011, Congress enacted legislation increasing the debt limit by $2.4 trillion to a maximum of $16.304 trillion In the 16 months since Congress gave the administration that $2.4 trillion in additional borrowing authority, the Treasury has almost exhausted all of it. As of the close of business Thursday, it had only another $110 billion left.
WASHINGTON — House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi says she’s hopeful lawmakers can come to a deal to avoid a year-end “fiscal cliff” but any agreement has to include tax rate increases for the wealthy.
She tells ABC’s “This Week” that she can’t accept a deal that caps deductions and closes some loopholes but does not alter current tax rates for the wealthy.
The California Democrat says “just to close loopholes is far too little money” and other ideas have to be considered. Republicans have suggested they are open to finding more revenues.
Just so we all understand here, raising rates without reducing deductions and loopholes will not raise much “revenue” at all. What Democrats want is to keep a complicated tax code, so they can play political games with their class warfare rhetoric. If they were to simplify the tax codes, that might actually be a workable and effective solution. And, the ones that will be hurt by raising rates will not be big business, it will be smaller businesses.
