When the Left asks us to “turn down the rhetoric” what they really mean is SHUT UP!

After the horrific attack on Republican lawmakers earlier this week, two very familiar liberal narrative soon began. The first was, of course gun control. Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe went straight to the Well of Failed Gun Control Solutions. Colion Noir took the governor to task

Noir is correct. Gun control is used by people with either no solutions, or people with no intentions to actually solve any problems. Never let a good crisis go to waste right Rahm Emanuel?

Not to be out done in the hyperbole game, the ladies of The View went on to pound their lecterns, with Sunny Hostin actually dismissing the notion that a right to self-defense existed in America

“Let’s talk about the Second Amendment,” Goldberg blurted out. “The Second Amendment is about a militia. That’s what it says!”

“That’s the time it was written,” Bila responded. “It’s the right to bear arms, to protect yourself and your family.”

Unable to hold her tongue, Hostin snorted, “Not to protect yourself and your family, that’s not what the Second Amendment is about.”

This is, of course a rare case of a member of the Cult of Gun Control letting their disdain of not only the right own firearms, but to most basic right of self-defense to show itself. Jenn Jacques, appearing on the Cam Edwards, took an opportunity to call out the ladies of The View and corrected some of their talking points. She also invited the cast of the View to attend a firearms training expo with her

Who wants to lay odds that this invitation goes for naught? The Left is generally not interested in reaching out or bridging gaps. They are far more invested in winning, period. We know the Left always talks of toning down rhetoric, and reaching across  the aisle, and coming together. But it is, sad to say, all talk. If the Left was truly serious about toning down rhetoric, then they would take a long look in their mirrors and stop their over the top attacks. They would cease and desist from calling Republicans, bigots, hate mongers, racists, sexists, and so on. They would stop their continuous diatribe accusing Conservatives of wanting to kill the elderly and sick by destroying health care. They would stop their insidious claims that the GOP wants kids to starve, the water and air to be polluted, and hates immigrants. The fact is this. the Left is divisive in everything they do. they have been invested in separating into groups for years and years now. They have been encouraging bitterness, division, and discord to gain political advantage for a long time. So, again, before anyone on their side of the fence start calling for civility, they need to clean up the pig sty that is their political house.

Perhaps when outlets like The Huffington Post start refusing to print hate pieces calling for the assassination of our president and GOP leaders, rather than retro-actively pulling them I might have more faith in their sincerity. Puma by Design, a fellow writer here at WOW! exposed the raw hatred HuffPo is trying to cover up

The final paragraph of HuffPo article should be more than enough to bring Fuller up on charges of treason:

Draining the swamp means not only ejecting Trump from the presidency, but also bringing himself and everyone assisting in his agenda up on charges of treason. They must be convicted (there is little room to doubt their guilt). And then — upon receiving guilty verdicts — they must all be executed under the law. Anything less than capital punishment — or at least life imprisonment without parole in a maximum security detention facility — would send yet another message to the world that America has lost its moral compass. In order for America’s morality and leadership to be restored, it must rebuke Donald Trump, his entire administration, and his legislative agenda in the strongest manner possible. And nothing would do more than to convict them of the highest offense defined by our Constitution, and then to deliver the ultimate punishment. Donald Trump deserves nothing less. Mitch McConnell, Steve Bannon, and Paul Ryan should also share Donald Trump’s fate, for they have done more than practically anyone to protect him and to throw our country under the proverbial bus. In order to survive, we as a nation must deliver the ultimate punishment under the law to all involved in its current destruction…

Of course it is not just Fuller, another HuffPo writer, Jesse Benn has some Tweets that might be a tad “over the top”. How about calling for riots

Remember the terrorist that slaughtered five Dallas police officers? Benn is down with him too it seems

Then there is Nancy “How Dare They” Pelosi

OH the sanctimony!

So, if the Left does not really long for more civil discourse what do they want? In short they want to Conservatives, to shut up! That is it in a nutshell. What the Left desires is total political victory, period! Civil discourse? Sure, I am all for it, but, Conservatives, and the GOP need to understand this. No matter what we say the opposition will call it extreme rhetoric. It is what they do. It is a tactic to shame anyone opposing progressive goals into silence.

UPDATE! Here is another outbreak of toned down Leftism

Via NJ 1015:

A longtime Democratic operative from Union County has responded to the Wednesday shooting of a congressman by calling for a “hunt” of Republicans.

James Devine posted several messages on Facebook and Twitter following the Alexandra, Virginia, shooting of U.S. Rep. Steve Scalise and several others by a gunman with a history of violence and of making online rantings against Republican officials and their policies.

“We are in a war with selfish, foolish & narcissistic rich people. Why is it a shock when things turn violent?” Devine posted on social media, ending the message with the hashtag: #HuntRepublicanCongressmen

“I have little sympathy for the Republican Congressman who got shot today because he viciously opposed President Obama’s effort to reduce gun violence and instead, he accepted more gun lobby money than all but 15 other members of the House of Representatives,” he said on Facebook.

The comments drew criticism from others who follow Devine on Facebook and Twitter.

But Devine told New Jersey 101.5 that he is not backing down, although he insists his comments were meant to shock but not advocate violence.

“It is insensitive and I don’t care. You want me to be politically correct? I don’t have time for that anymore,” he said.

What a class act, but his honesty is refreshing isn’t it? A Leftist being a violent Leftist

GOP takes aim at the Obama Czars!

I like this, even if it fails, I think it is still important to do this. Let the people know the Republicans ARE willing to take reigning in government power grabs seriously. And, of course, this also will force Democrats to defend, publicly, their power grabbing!

The House GOP approved an amendment to a government-spending bill that would block funding for the Obama administration’s so-called policy “czars,” appointed advisers to the president that have been much-criticized by Republicans.

The vote was 249-171.

The amendment, offered by Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.), specifically targets Obama’s “climate czar” by blocking funding for the assistant to the president for energy and climate change, the position’s official title. The amendment would block funding for the ‘czars’ through the end of the fiscal year, when the spending bill would run out. The underlying bill also includes a provision to block funding for the position.“I think this sends a strong signal to the president that we are tired of him running this shadow government, where they have got these czars that are literally circumventing the accountability and scrutiny that goes with Senate confirmation,” Scalise said after the vote.

Republicans Introduce Bill To Eliminate Presidential ‘Czars’ – The Hill

A group of House Republicans introduced a bill on Wednesday to rein in the various “czars” in the Obama administration.

Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) and 28 other House Republicans introduced legislation to do away with the informal, paid advisers President Obama has employed over the past two years.

The legislation, which was introduced in the last Congress but was not allowed to advance under Democratic control, would do away with the 39 czars Obama has employed during his administration.

The bill defines a czar as “a head of any task force, council, policy office within the Executive Office of the President, or similar office established by or at the direction of the President” who is appointed to a position that would otherwise require Senate confirmation.

Republicans had complained about the president’s use of czars to help advance his agenda in Congress. In particular, the GOP had harped about the personal history of Van Jones, the president’s czar for “green jobs,” over past comments Jones had made about Fox News came to light. Jones eventually resigned.

Another prominent czar over the past year was Carol Browner, the president’s energy and environmental adviser. She helped head up efforts in response to the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, and the ultimately unsuccessful effort for an energy and climate bill from Congress.

Republicans introduced several bills to eliminate czars in the last Congress, but similar legislation could conceivably advance in the House now that the GOP controls the chamber.

“We haven’t gotten an indication of an exact timeline for committee action, considering that the bill was just filed yesterday,” said Scalise spokesman Stephen Bell. “We hope to have this discussion in the near future as the congressman works to pursue all the bills he has introduced in the 112th Congress.”
