Well, I know I feel Safer

Great news folks, all of our troubles in America are now over. How do I know? Well The University of Mississippi has now completely banned their marching ban from ever playing the most evil song ever, Dixie, because “diversity”

Athletics Director Ross Bjork said Friday that he asked the university’s marching band, known as the “Pride of the South,” to create a new pregame show that excludes all the variations of Dixie it has traditionally played.

“Because the Pride of the South is such a large part of our overall experience and tradition, the Athletics Department asked them to create a new and modern pregame show that does not include ‘Dixie’ and is more inclusive for all fans,” Bjork said in a statement.

Got that? They must exclude this song to be “inclusive”. There you have, in one small example, the hypocrisy and backasswardsness of the Left. To them, being less diverse, makes us more diverse, and excluding more people, cultures, and heritages makes us more “inclusive”. But what about the name of the Ole Miss band? Pride of the South? Surely that must go too right? And what of this little fact

The nickname “Ole Miss” is a term of affection for the school’s alumni and fans, but “Ole Miss” is also what slaves called a plantation owner’s wife.

Well, THAT is offensive right? So they ought to change that too, I mean the university has been cleansing its culture for two plus decades now

In 1997, then-Chancellor Robert Khayat banned hand-held flagpoles from the stadium, effectively ending the waiving of battle flags. Then in 2003, the university cut ties with Colonel Reb, the grey-whiskered Southern planter, tapping a bear as its on-field mascot instead. In 2009, then-Chancellor Dan Jones told the band to stop playing “From Dixie With Love,” which blended the Confederate anthem with the Union Army’s “Battle Hymn of the Republic.” Some fans were yelling “The South will rise again” during the song. Ole Miss fans had once yelled the same at the end of the original version of Dixie.

Outside the athletic arena, Ole Miss has renamed Confederate Drive, stopped flying the Mississippi state flag because it features the Confederate battle emblem, and is working on a plaque to acknowledge slavery in front of the monument to university students who died fighting for the South during the Civil War.

And I am sure that plaque will demonize those soldiers, and spin history to place all the blame for the War Between the States on slavery, because Cultural Stalinsim must roll on.

Gators land top three recruiting class again

Happy with the results as of now. Of course the real quality of this class will not be known until 2013 or 2014 but, ESPN ranks the Gators class at #2 Rivals has us #3, so that is great coming off an 11 win season. As I have said before, Will Muschamp’s legacy will begin to be defined by how his players, in his system perform. And entering his third year, we will start to see how good his recruiting and coaching styles meld. We Gator fans know we always have talent, and we know what a great coach (Spurrier, Meyer) can do with that. We also know what mediocre coaches can do, (Zook). So, soon we will be able to see where Muschamp can take the Gators

ESPN, ranks the top ten classes like this
